Crossfire most definitely in my case but I like tightness in sound and CT doesn't quite have that. Excellent test. Everyone I know with CT sounds mentions that smell. Ty sir 👍
Clearly the Crossfire because of 3 reasons = better SPL Score, no coil smell, followed by you indicating it sounded better to you. With your experience in having heard so many different subs, that feedback matters. While the CT may perform a little better at lower frequencies, I think the Crossfire would be a better buy for the long term.
My bad, my bad - I finally caught this video @ 2ohm my Pioneer amp can do 800 watt rms = if I wanted to use 1 of these in single use, then the crossfire would be the one and how much gain would be safe - 15% ?
I gotta stick with crossfire, I got to do many build in the 90's and 2000's for friends. They were a company of quality and design then as they are now. But as other have said these have all been great subs. Love the real test on the hardware! Hope to see lots more along these lines, maybe do a budget sub or 4 channel shoot out next? Great work! Out of here!
The 2 crossfire c3 12s I got for my wife I built the box to 33hrz but I got them hooked up to a deaf bonce apocalypse 800.1 and that doesn't seem to be enough so trying to save up for a crossfire 1600 amp.
Anyone have any ideas how to stop window rattle? I've tried everything I can think of (including dynamatting the doors heavily and tightening bolts) driving me crazy. If I crack the front windows about an inch it completely stops. clapped out 07 toyota camry.
Crossfire ftw. I have had both brands and have had different subs from them over the years. Crossfire always seems to underrate their subs quite a bit. From the entry level to the xsv3 4" 15s I had. I could always put almost double the rated rms. Ct sounds has always given me trouble in terms of taking power.
@@Two_chair_Lynn Me too. I have nothing against them as I have tropo xls in my car. In my Tahoe, I have 3 Fi Team v3 18s and they underrate their subs unlike ct sounds which use the rms as a marketing gimmick.
thank you for this great video brother - Good props to Crossfire. After checking the specs on down4sound I found that these companies don't post any parameters like FS, QTS, Xmax etc - what a load of crap. Spl side needs to start sharing this info
The one thing that I think is very important to keep in mind, is that many spl orientated subs have a progressive suspension design. Which makes it impossible to pull ts parameters on them
Id say if the crossfire c3 is anything like the c7 it can probably hand over rated power fairly well. Great series cant wait to see who wins the loser bracket
@@HifiVega Oh i bet it can!!! I've seen a build with 4 c7s on a 12k crossfire amp, it absolutely slammed. I wouldn't doubt it if you could put 4 c3s on a 4k or 5k amp an be fine.
Everyone on here talking about the crossfire being better but not a one of you guys talk about how the CT sub took a 100+ more watts for the test duration, test was sketch and the results are biased. Seems that he caused the voice coil to be hot on purpose as a point of controversy to skew the results.
Ct vs crossfire please crossfire holds records plus crossfire has top reputation since the 90s.quality stuff no disrespect to ct but its like skar audio budget.
I beat the hell out of 2 tropo 18s off a fosgate t1500bd while I waited for my psi platform 3+ 18 to be built. I thought they were aamazing for the 129ea I payed. Me for the money out of what you had I'm still sticking with the savards. Ran them in the 90s and loved em. Run them today and still love em.
@@koolBOY8323 You are right. It's a budget comparison... For RF to have a fighting chance it needs to have near the same Xmax. That's why I said P2. I really want to hear a crossfire in person to see if it really sounds as good as he says.
Msrp of the skar zvx 12 is 379 dollars. Thats almost 4 x the $ of these budget subwoofers= not a fair match up. Thats like saying a 200Lb 6ft. tall adult male, can beat up a 50Lb 1st grade child=very impressive😢😒
Did you even read what you posted? You did not type 8-inch. And did you read the other comments to you, they also thought you were talking about the zvx 12, you know why, because this whole shootout is for (8qty) 12-inch budget subwoofers! Thats why HifiVega is calling this "Budget bangers elite 8". The 8 in his title, is the number of subwoofers that competed in this showdown. Know who's the D*** A**🤣😂

Which brand has cleaner bass? CT Sounds or DD Audio?
Both good in their own right. 👍🏻
Agreed

Can’t go wrong with either, but the C3 sure is sweet!
Great series ❤
Thanks homie!
Crossfire no questions imo. Tried CT sounds once and never again. The quality difference is day and night.

Can we get a video of hooking up the u start battery cap and showing us how it works how to jump a dead battery
I haven’t don’t much research on that feature myself
It also has a Bluetooth feature
Ngl rocking a single crossfire c7 12 and geeeshhhh
wasn’t a good match due to box specs tbh but both played in the same box🤷♂️so it’s w.e but Im still sticking with the ct sounds 😂
Crossfire for sure I had the old school bmf amps and subs.crossfire been out since the 90s great product for sure.

My first class D amp happened to be a Crossfire CFA 1000d in the late 90’s

They definitely take more power than rated

This has been an issue since loud systems have been invented
Why do you have that adapter ring?
These subs are too big cut out wise to fit in this enclosure so instead of using the rubber gasket I decided to use an adapter ring
Where did you get it? Can u post a link please?
@@Franco03160 I made it on the router
Great vs videos 😉👍🏼
Thanks!
Based on your testing it's the crossfire FTW. I'm still gonna want American Bass though.
Any subs louder than these at same price point?
This one that u also reviewed at a later time amzn.to/3xByAdg
next time you do a shoot out you should use a sealed box as it is more forgiving when it come to box size and bandwidth
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP HIFIVEGA 👍. IM GOING TO DROP 2 12-INCH #CROSSFIRES INTO MY LEXUS GS. RUN A JP8 AND ENJOY THE SOUND 😎
That’ll bang
Crossfire all the way. I am interested in knowing how it sounded as far as being responsive. Thought about buying the c3 to replace my type r alpines
It was very responsive, but the type R’s are great subs you’d likely have to upgrade to the c5 to match them

Love my crossfire! A lot of sub for the money!! And loud for the lower power. win win
For sure!
Crossfire for the win. I been a Crossfire Audio guy since the 90’s
One of these companies does R&d. One doesnt. The results reflect that. I've had a ton of luck with the c3s

I'm a CT fanboy but it looks like Crossfire gets it without hearing them in person to know exactly how much better the lows are.
Yeah it’s tough without hearing them yourself
This is a tie they are basically the same subwoofer
Crossfire looks better to me. It's been a good sub battle to watch appreciat all the work you put in for us to learn from.

Crossfire without regrets!
Iv noticed that 15" or bigger sized Woofers aren't as popular as they once were in the 90s/early 2K.... show me proof that I'm wrong
Seems 12’s have always been the most popular in my area for car audio since the 90’s
@HifiVega most didn't have clue about what they were buying waaaayback then where im from lol
Crossfire they been around a long time I think they have more experience at making great subs but who knows ct might do it ...
Both subs are solid so it’s a toss up
Crossfire has way more experience when it comes to subwoofers than ct sounds not surprised the crossfire sub performed better

Skar zvx is a budget price it will destroy all these 8
Of course skar will do better because of their rms wattage. He did subs with or around the same amount of wattage. Come on now 🤦🏽♂️
If that’s the case the Sundown Xv.2 12 with the same rms rating as the skar zvx will absolutely obliterate the skar sub.
