Some of my thoughts after completing the game (if anyone cares).. -The story its ok imo, way better than Odyssey, but i have to say i was more immerse in Origins than in Valhalla. Bayek and Aya left a bigger impression on me than Eivor. I remember playing Origins and i couldn't wait to know what was gonna happen with the story, in Valhalla i felt that at specific times, but overall i felt the story was much longer that it needed to be. Some secondary characters didn't make me care enough to even remember their names at the end of the game. -Sound and music its at the same level than Origins (very good). -Graphics.. well it's the same engine so not much difference there (they really need to improve draw distance, distant terrain textures looks very flat and unappealing). -The combat its a little bit heavier and with more weapon customization, but its the same essence than Odyssey (some people like it, others don't). -They downgraded the level of grind (which is much appreciated). -Stealth its still secondary and bad implemented imo, same as Odyssey, the game is clearly focused on combat and stealth is just a choice you can take (still there are a lot of missions that force you into combat). Social stealth is there but i find myself almost never using it, there's really no need even in max difficulty. -Order members are too generic and easy to kill (except for a couple that are story related and have more work put into their missions). Just discover their location and kill them like any other target like if they were a contract from Reda. Small confession cutscenes, sometimes interesting (story related members) others not so much. -Regions and cities are better designed and different between each other (something that Odyssey did very badly but Origins did very good) -Parkour is awefull, just that, not much else to say. It's true that cities are better designed to parkour but the mechanic is to buggy. -Character animations, some are ok, the rest very bad (lip sync, facial expressions, body expressions) -PC optimization, same as always, not the worst but far from the best. The game consumes to much for what delivers. Anyway those are my opinions, if have to say it in only one sentence it would be :"Valhalla is a step forward from Odyssey"
For me PC optimization is miles ahead of Origins and Odyssey now that they use DX12 and utilize all CPU cores. The game runs smooth as butter (when there are no bugs).
@@kalo_yanis It's true that Origins had some issues with cpu cores, but i never struggled to keep 60fps except in Alexandria. Odyssey had issues in Athens, and Valhalla doesn't have a city that big but Winchester and some other cities keeps lagging for me.
I agree with every one of your points. Overall, it’s a very average AC game. Gameplay got really repetitive after the first 40+ hours. The story was good especially towards the end, but overall it felt pretty dragged out with very forgettable side characters. Only a handful of them were interesting like Halfdan and Ivarr, but a majority of them I could barely even remember their names. Valhalla is definitely far better than Odyssey, but Origins is still the best of the trilogy in my opinion.
Yeah they added them but it’s not like in Odyssey where they’re necessary in order to level up, unlike in Valhalla where’s there’s no level gating (at least in my play through I didn’t encounter it at all)
Oh man, the confession room assassinations felt so disappointing compared to the ones from origins. The origins ones were so theatrical and great. Also, the facial animations were great, unlike in odyssey and valhalla where the characters seem like they are forcing themselves to be expressive.
Tbh the memory corridors were pretty much the best ever in origins. I mean in its theatricality and not its narrative part which was okay. Valhalla's memory corridors are fine when comparing then to all the og AC games memory corridors in what happens in them.
@@lorenzorizzi864 still I don't see how that's an excuse for the huge downgrade on the facial animations and the poor quality of the cutscenes. It just ruins the narrative for me, personally, as a player
The ones in the main story were good, like the Fulke one or the ones in Lunden, obviously they can’t do that for all of them but I wish they at least did a bit more theatrics for them.
@@alexpac8502 idk, I don’t have an issue with the facial animations in cutscenes, the confession rooms were great, every person you kill seems to have a unique personality to them and are often quite interesting.
How did it take you 90 hours to get that far? Did you do every single other zone beforehand? According to Uplay i finished all the story content after 120 hours, but the Fulke-arc is just around the halfway point.

I’ve lost an 100 hour save due to the cloud save overwriting bug and somehow managed to get back on track because I was interested in the plot so much 😅
To be honest I appreciate the fact that they didn’t make you into a Greek Demi god that can plummet of a 1000 meter tall cliff and not take a single bit of damage and then swing his or her mace like a madman and kill 30 people while slowing down time.

i havent had much bugs. but i have had quite a few crashes. but since i played a lot of kingdom come deliverance before I can handle it :) nice review! and i enjoy the game(120 h into it now)
from my personal experience, most bugs i had were audio related, but it did crash for me 3 times from 80 hours of gameplay, and had to reload the save file a few times to fix a bug, every other bug i had was pretty minor/funny, and i was playing on the PS5 version. definitely a lot buggier experience than what i had with Origins and Odyssey. nothing i would really consider game breaking though. i will definitely agree that it is the buggiest AC game since Unity (not as bad as Unity, but still pretty buggy and needed more time in the oven)
From what I have heard, Valhalla is a current gen game, it’s just that it was releasing close to the next generation, hence it was ported to them. And it seems that most of the bugs seem to be on PS5, XBOX one X, or PC
I have spent 104 hours in the game now and i finished it and i can say that i enjoyed it. It has its flaws but i loved the story. I hope the series improves from here on
110 hours on this game, I honestly loved it. Odyssey for me was disappointing but this was very fun. I honestly got attached to Evior lol, haven't felt attached to a character like that for a while..
I liked the game overall... I'm more interested to see where will the franchise go from here... Obviously, the next game will have a new engine, and will continue the modern day story from the bizarre ending in Valhalla.. Hope the higher ups understand this, and give the development all the time it needs
The Red, Blue and Yellow in the skill tree represents the 3 forms of weapons and armour; Bear, Wolf and Raven respectively. Bear is heavy hitting attacks and beefy armour at the expense of requiring a lot of stamina to dodge and being slow to attack, Wolf is the middle of the road and Raven is light defense but low stamina consumption and rapid attacks. In the Raven tree you'll be more likely to find % damage increase for light attacks only, Wolf you'll find % increases for light AND heavy attacks and Bear is more heavy oriented. In each tree you'll find bonuses to stun, damage and the like if you are wearing the armour or using the weapons of that tree, like a Bear weapon would gain the benefits of the "bonus to stun when using bear weapons" and a Wolf weapon wouldn't. One thing that baffles me about this system is that some weapons and armour aren't consigned to certain groups, like you can find a dagger that is under the Bear tree, despite being a low damage fast attack weapon which would be more leaning to the Raven tree and there is a Raven greatsword, despite leaning into more Bear tree territory. So not all Greatswords gain bonuses from the heavy weapons tree and not all Daggers gain bonuses from the light weapons tree. With that said though, I am glad that we get to mix and match our weapon sets instead of being stuck with a Sword, Spear, Daggers, Hammer or a Giant Axe, now we can have a greatsword and a flail if we want, or a dagger and a hammer.
Raven = Stealth Bear = Melee Wolf = Ranged By the end game, they are all irrelevant. You'll have enough points to fill out the entire tree. It's only a matter of when you unlock the skill as you level up.
@@thestarlord7673 I was more talking about what the "buffs to Wolf items" and "buffs to Bear items" skills applied to, even though they are kind of nonsensical at times.
Great video! The graph colors are like this: Red- Melee Combat Blue- Ranged Combat Yellow- Stealth But you can find some stealth skills on red and blue, ranged skills in red and yellow and melee in blue and yellow
I love Origins, and think it's wonderful. Odyssey kinda missed the mark... a lot. Glad to see Valhalla seems good with long-time fans. I'll be picking it up soon! :)
For me, this game is far from origins standard. I didn't find any good "reason" to the story. Why eivor do this, why eivor do that, why u must go to point A or point B, why u need to kill that dude. What is the point, revenge? No, eivor already kill the dude that kill. his parents in the opening arc. This game title is ASSASSINS CREED, but the story in main game is focused on the viking that conveniently is odin descendant raid this and that and then give us an assassins/hidden ones-focused DLC.
@@a.g.i1612 All the reasons were set up in the prologue Eivor's goal is to win political control in England , and eliminating the order of the ancients . All targets were standing in Eivor's way to seize control of England , or members of the order . Did you seriously want another revenge story?
Not enjoying Valhalla at all, trying to though, I keep grinding away with it, but if feels too clunky, too clumsy as far as the combat & game play mechanics go. Game feels unfinished, but that's the norm isn't it, they finish games by paid DLCs these days. IDK, to me Origins & Odyssey are much better games.
I feel the same way. I loved Origins and Odyssey and put in a ton of hours into those games. But unfortunately I'm just not feeling Valhalla. Too buggy, animation/cutscenes are choppy, and the gameplay doesn't feel as smooth as the previous AC games. Very disappointing.
To me odyssey is ass and Valhalla is ass , I don’t feel like a assassin when playing those games , the combat is dry and non cool lol I wanna press square and eliminate all the enemies again and execute enemies with cool ass moves , I’ll take unity back over those games
I’m loving it, they kept the RPG elements while toning them down to cut down on the brutal grind of the last two games in certain times, all while bringing back some of the feel of the old games. I’m also loving the construction of the free to play story lines, how you can go in and pick which one you want instead of just going from point to point.
Man, this edit you did at the end is better than any trailer Ubisoft themselves put out. Goes to show how well something can be when someone who understands it has a say.
@@justuraveragecunt9005 No, the mission "Holy day" wouldn't start. Some of the people who you rally were at the place where the mission was supposed to start, but the quest didn't even appear in my quest log.
In my case, the game finished itself. I had 7 or 8 Order members left to hunt, when suddenly I got messages that all of them are dead and I had their medallions. Then the game revealed me the grand master and gave me his medallion, but also didn't finish his quest so I still had to travel and talk to him. I also had every possible bug and ended up being annoyed by the game and hated almost everything in it.

Loved the review! I think anything better than Odyssey is a step in the right direction imo... At least the 120+ hours I sank into the game didn't feel wasted 👌🏻
I only had three problems with this game. The first one is that I've had around 3 crashes. Albeit, I'm like 40 hours in so I should expect some crashes, but still. 2nd is occassionally during fist fight battles, even when I'm right next to the person, sometimes my blows don't connect, leading me to get hit one or two extra times can be annoying. Three, the entire Yule event and the Yule fighting is full of bugs and glitches. I suggest playing the Yule fighting event, but be prepared for not always hitting your opponent, for hovering above the ground for about 10 seconds until you role away, and not always managing to hit your target at the beginning of the fight because there is an invisible wall there.
For some reason, I found the zealots exceptionally easier if there were other enemies around. I could use them to poison of light the battle field on fire, I could throw their dropped weapons, I could get health back from them, I could throw or kick or whip them into other enemies, and I could get more perks activated. I usually tried to lure most zealots to a wandering group of enemies with the exception of four or five guys.
Awesome review Fiz. I as a fan since day 1 am VERY happy with everything in this game minus the crashes, little bugs and the fact that I have to go to my menu to change my bows but other than that I’m loving it. Is it crazy that I have over 100 hours in and only like 8 or 9 story wise Order of Ancients kills and 4 Zelots? 🤣 I explore and do the side quests A LOT and also I have now started randomly running into over guarded fortresses and going on rampages... I even started streaming some of them just for laughs. Cant wait to see the DLC’s
Best review for this game to be honest,it was the most "fair" talking about the positives and negatives with reasonable manner, and i really like how fizhy dont put a score on the game, because at the end of the day what the number represents? What could be a 10/10 For a person for me could be a 6/10 For me and so on.
I thought the skill tree colors relate to the armor types and play styles. Red for bear, blue for wolf, and yellow for the raven gear and all those have different perks, right?
The skill tree colors represent hand to hand combat, the red tree or the bear tree, ranged combat, the blue or the wolf tree, and stealth, the yellow tree or the raven tree, all the equipment in the game is connected to one of these trees and the skills you've gotten boost the performance of corresponding gear, this way you can build your loadout to compliment your playstyle and the way you've chosen to build the tree
Its honestly mind boggling how you encountered soo many bugs, while I do say I experienced a couple as well. Its definitely waaay less than you got.... I got really lucky I guess?
In my playthrough, I didn't encounter many bugs. The worst offender was a few crashes (less than 5) over a 90 hr playthrough (95% complete). Though, seeing the bugs that were encountered in this video made me laugh (especially the boat one). P.S. I now want a flying boat.
I agree with the majority of your talking points. While I didn't have as many bugs as you, I did have a handful that really made the game frustrating. Here are a few that I faced: 1. random spots on the map would cause me to go into a perma slide while staying in place. The only fix that worked was reloading. 2. Without spoiling anything, there's a merchant in my settlement that is broken for me. I am unable to talk with them and view their store. I have 110hrs on my main save and they have been bugged since the start. 3. Boats randomly floating, including my own ship. Would happen when trying to start a raid from time to time. Even with these bugs, I thoroughly enjoyed AC:V. I'm so happy they brought the story line around to continue it further. I'm looking forward to the DLC to see how they continue the story, both "in game" and "out of game." I wish that the cities villages had more happening. There's a few that really feel like a busy area, but most of them feel extremely empty, even though there's a ton of houses / buildings.
4:37 the only thing I disagree with u about is the fact that you can’t plunder somewhere a take a shite load of innocents as slaves, cause that’s kinda against Assassin rules. Felt a little taken out every time killing an innocent on a raid made me desynchronise. Other than that though I pretty much agree. Liked the game as a whole
28:04 "I will give a positive here: At Least There's No XP Boost Time Saver This Time Around." ....wow that didn't age well. XD Really shows how far Ubisoft has fallen as a game developer. Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe the feeling I have for the company who made my favorite game franchise...
I was legit SHOCKED when I saw that the draugr longship body, and sails were included in one pack, but the figurehead and tailpiece were included in ANOTHER pack which cost the SAME price!
23:30 I didn't experience many bugs on the XBox One, but my game would crash at least once a day, and a few times I lost several hours of gameplay to corrupted save files which was really frustrating.
@@fiel81 yeah lol it seems as though AC is stuck in a cycle of quebec making a huge mess, and Montreal coming back and cleaning it up and giving the franchise hope, only for quebec to make an even bigger mess. It'll keep going until Quebec makes a good game (pipe dream) or until Montreal just can't fix the mess that quebec made (which was almost the case with odyssey). I'm honestly surprised at how well Montreal did in trying to fix odyssey, while still making a really good game

The game feels a lot like unity.... Marketed a bit too much and a lot of bugs...the detection of enemies seemd unchanged by the hood almost breaks stealth and since the removal of desynchronization of not getting full synchronisation on not following a certain discrestion in mission makes the social stealth quite shallow...which just leaves a great deal to be desired 😔

I hope so too but I wouldn't hold my breath. God imagine the hype if the next AC came out in 2023 and the gameplay mechanics were like classic Assassin's Creed.
I personally enjoy the RPG style, but then again i'm bias toward RPG games but i do really hope we finally get a AC game where the main focus is on the brotherhood, feels like forever since we've had a AC game like that
The next Assassin's Creed could possibly be an RPG where we actually get to role-play as an Assassin, a member of the Brotherhood. We could play as an Assassin who eventually works his way up to the rank of Master or even Mentor as he explores the open world and takes on assassination contracts for either the order or civilians, much like the Witcher Contracts from The Witcher 3. It could also be a game that would prioritize stealth over combat, investing in items and equipment that would make the former a more preferable approach. Upgrading the hidden blade for faster assassinations, equipping gear that make enemies take longer to detect you, a more in-depth parkour system, crafting bombs, poison darts, recruiting NPCs into the Assassins, etc. I'm just spit-balling here, but I would personally would love to see something like this!
I feel this may be controversial but, I greatly disliked the Assassins part of this game. Personally I don’t think it’s cos that part is bad but the bits when your just doing what Vikings do in the story are ten times more enjoyable The modern day ending overall left a sour taste in my mouth I just can’t get rid of.
I was halfway through the fenrir fight and he teleported through the ground. I was just standing in the arena for a few minutes and I decided to just wake up and do other stuff. I have since gone back and it automatically kills me. I am literally unable to complete that fight.

-Regions and cities are better designed and different between each other (something that Odyssey did very badly but Origins did very good)
-Parkour is awefull, just that, not much else to say. It's true that cities are better designed to parkour but the mechanic is to buggy.
-Character animations, some are ok, the rest very bad (lip sync, facial expressions, body expressions)
-PC optimization, same as always, not the worst but far from the best.
Valhalla is definitely far better than Odyssey, but Origins is still the best of the trilogy in my opinion.
first 16 seconds are my exact thoughts
24:03 aged poorly lmao. They added EXP boosters to the Helix store with Title Update 1.1.0 on 15/12/2020.
Yeah they added them but it’s not like in Odyssey where they’re necessary in order to level up, unlike in Valhalla where’s there’s no level gating (at least in my play through I didn’t encounter it at all)
Yeah they did that so they wouldn't recive critisim from reviewers and boost their sales then when people had it they added it to tempt them
Oh man, the confession room assassinations felt so disappointing compared to the ones from origins.
Well because in valhalla they are like 44, in origins like 5?
@@lorenzorizzi864 still I don't see how that's an excuse for the huge downgrade on the facial animations and the poor quality of the cutscenes. It just ruins the narrative for me, personally, as a player
The ones in the main story were good, like the Fulke one or the ones in Lunden, obviously they can’t do that for all of them but I wish they at least did a bit more theatrics for them.
@@alexpac8502 idk, I don’t have an issue with the facial animations in cutscenes, the confession rooms were great, every person you kill seems to have a unique personality to them and are often quite interesting.
This game doesn’t feel long like odyssey which I’m so grateful for I’m 90 hrs in and Sigurd just got took by Fulke
How did it take you 90 hours to get that far? Did you do every single other zone beforehand? According to Uplay i finished all the story content after 120 hours, but the Fulke-arc is just around the halfway point.
Damnn I am 80 hours in and the only quest I am left with is getting settlement to level 6 lol 😅

I thought the intial conversation with Ceobelrt was strange because he knew more information than he should, for instance he didn't know that Norway existed but somehow knew that King Harald was 6 years older than him. It made no sense
This soundtrack is so stupidly good the video could be 34 min of scenes of the game with just the soundtrack without your voice and I'd like it just as much
I honestly didn't experience any of the bug other than few quest bugs on basic ps4. I guess it's a different experience for everyone.
After having played Fallout76... Well this game I consider bugless, or they ll be quickly fixed... Unlikef76
i havent had much bugs. but i have had quite a few crashes. but since i played a lot of kingdom come deliverance before I can handle it :)
nice review! and i enjoy the game(120 h into it now)
from my personal experience, most bugs i had were audio related, but it did crash for me 3 times from 80 hours of gameplay, and had to reload the save file a few times to fix a bug, every other bug i had was pretty minor/funny, and i was playing on the PS5 version.
definitely a lot buggier experience than what i had with Origins and Odyssey. nothing i would really consider game breaking though.
i will definitely agree that it is the buggiest AC game since Unity (not as bad as Unity, but still pretty buggy and needed more time in the oven)
I've had no bags but lots of crashes on ps4
From what I have heard, Valhalla is a current gen game, it’s just that it was releasing close to the next generation, hence it was ported to them. And it seems that most of the bugs seem to be on PS5, XBOX one X, or PC
I have spent 104 hours in the game now and i finished it and i can say that i enjoyed it. It has its flaws but i loved the story. I hope the series improves from here on
I agree bro it was great and I hope the next one is as good as this one

Hope the higher ups understand this, and give the development all the time it needs
The boss fight with the builder had me in therapy
Raven = Stealth
Bear = Melee
Wolf = Ranged
By the end game, they are all irrelevant.
The graph colors are like this:
Red- Melee Combat
Blue- Ranged Combat
Yellow- Stealth
But you can find some stealth skills on red and blue, ranged skills in red and yellow and melee in blue and yellow

Valhalla IS the best Assassin's Creed game since black flag
It's not better than black flag , but it's at least as good as origins
Agreed
I can agree with this
I love Origins, and think it's wonderful.
@@a.g.i1612
All the reasons were set up in the prologue
Eivor's goal is to win political control in England , and eliminating the order of the ancients .
All targets were standing in Eivor's way to seize control of England , or members of the order .
Did you seriously want another revenge story?
Fizhy if someone told me I'd believe that Ubisoft had made that trailer
Well we got to wait till he makes his review
What a banger of an edit at the end. That really wanted me to play the game again 😂
Man, this edit you did at the end is better than any trailer Ubisoft themselves put out. Goes to show how well something can be when someone who understands it has a say.
My game glitched so I couldn't finish the story line ;-;. Literally the last mission was when it decided to glitch.
Last minute of the game?
@@justuraveragecunt9005 No, the mission "Holy day" wouldn't start. Some of the people who you rally were at the place where the mission was supposed to start, but the quest didn't even appear in my quest log.
In my case, the game finished itself. I had 7 or 8 Order members left to hunt, when suddenly I got messages that all of them are dead and I had their medallions. Then the game revealed me the grand master and gave me his medallion, but also didn't finish his quest so I still had to travel and talk to him. I also had every possible bug and ended up being annoyed by the game and hated almost everything in it.
They gonna fix, within the week
@@shurik121 I had the same issue, not sure if it was the same quest though, but reloading the game helped fix it for me.. if that doesn't work for you though then i dunno what to say, sucks that it glitched on you.

Eivor: ok ima good viking so no war and revenge and have a nice day
That trailer edit is beautiful man.
It's like an actual movie trailer which was so fucking sick and epic! :D
Loved the review! I think anything better than Odyssey is a step in the right direction imo... At least the 120+ hours I sank into the game didn't feel wasted 👌🏻
I really enjoyed this game, one of my favourites, I was lucky enough not to see any bugs. :)
XP Boost was just added *
For some reason, I found the zealots exceptionally easier if there were other enemies around. I could use them to poison of light the battle field on fire, I could throw their dropped weapons, I could get health back from them, I could throw or kick or whip them into other enemies, and I could get more perks activated. I usually tried to lure most zealots to a wandering group of enemies with the exception of four or five guys.
That trailer edit was absolutely masterful, oh and I guess the review was alright😌
I explore and do the side quests A LOT and also I have now started randomly running into over guarded fortresses and going on rampages... I even started streaming some of them just for laughs.
Cant wait to see the DLC’s
21:26 - I had this and the bug after that sooo often!
Best review for this game to be honest,it was the most "fair" talking about the positives and negatives with reasonable manner, and i really like how fizhy dont put a score on the game, because at the end of the day what the number represents? I thought the skill tree colors relate to the armor types and play styles. Red for bear, blue for wolf, and yellow for the raven gear and all those have different perks, right?
Well done in this video mate! Smashed it as always
Here are a few that I faced:
1. random spots on the map would cause me to go into a perma slide while staying in place.

Hopefully next gen ac will actually be ac.
Wdym?
I hope so too but I wouldn't hold my breath. God imagine the hype if the next AC came out in 2023 and the gameplay mechanics were like classic Assassin's Creed.
I personally enjoy the RPG style, but then again i'm bias toward RPG games
but i do really hope we finally get a AC game where the main focus is on the brotherhood, feels like forever since we've had a AC game like that
The next Assassin's Creed could possibly be an RPG where we actually get to role-play as an Assassin, a member of the Brotherhood.

Personally I don’t think it’s cos that part is bad but the bits when your just doing what Vikings do in the story are ten times more enjoyable
The modern day ending overall left a sour taste in my mouth I just can’t get rid of.
So basically you don't like assassin's creed games being about assassin's? 😂
This was a very well made review! Maybe one of the best I've seen. Much respect.
I've only just started playing this and I really like it and it feels like the old Ezio AC games.

Assassin's creed has never had good combat. Just my opinion.
I've been saying this for months: the best AC combat is in Ghost of Tsushima.
