All motor b20v with skunk2 tuner 3 cams

  • changed out the all motor b18c1 for a all motor b20v making 232 to the wheels. its a destroked b20 block with b18c1 crank and eagle rods with 13.1:1 p73 pistons. b18c1 head with skunk2 tuner 3 cams (degreed) running on e85. there's more to the build but this is the main things that are done to it. car was tuned by mark at edens tuning.

    Questions, so did u have to use the gsr rod/ bearing and is the main bearing all the same ir have to get it for b20?? Thansk

    Clean setup man ! I really like that you kept the gsr crank. What was the numbers vs the B18C setup ? Curious to know if you ran the same cams in both setups would be interesting to see what going from a 81mm to 84mm bore and the compression bump did for the dyno graph. I’ve built a lot B series motors mostly for boost but a few B20/Vtec’s but always kept the 89mm crank. I’ve built your exact combo in my head several times tho lmao

      So with the b18c with high comp, e85, tuner 3s, and everything, it make 207/130. Then with the b20v it made 232/153 @8200. Only thing that was changed was going from 81mm to 84mm. The b18c was 12.4:1CR and the b20v is 13.1:1

    Do you think supertech dual valve springs, retainers and keepers can handle tuner 2 cams? Or do I have to get the skunk 2 valve train?

      No. You need to use skunk2 springs and retainers. If you use to light of a spring you risk valve float. If you use to heavy of a spring (like me) the cams will eat your rockers.

      @@codyf1562 oh ok. Good I asked because I had supertech valve train laying around and wanted to use them for tuner 2's but I'd rather just stick tuner 1s then lol

    Was ur head ported and polished? Or did u just threw in aftermarket valvetrain and cams? Also is this block sleeved or stock?

      The intake side is ported. Also stock b20 sleeves

    I made 230 on a stock b20b block with built b16 head tuner2 cams in pump 92 only reving to 8100

      Yanno I've been seeing a lot of all motor b20v on pump 91 making good number like mine. Makes me wonder if I should switch to 91. Might make more

      I'm pretty sure ur cams can make more power past 8100 rpm but nice set up man🙏😊

    So the B20 block made more power how does it feels driving which one more torque and better in your opinion

      Yes the b20 block made more power but for a few reasons. The b18c block had 12:4:1 comp pistons but it was a poor piston design that cut the flame in half. Also the tuner 3 cams were not degreed on the b18c. Still made over 200hp and 130tq. Now with the b20 block, it's a little special. It has the b18c crank in it along with b18c eagle rods paired with 13:1 flat top pistons. (Destroked) it's able to rev higher and its more efficient on the top end. The cams are also degreed on this build. It made 232hp and 155tq. The b20v in my opinion is way better. Also with the b18c only being 81mm bore I was losing power with that small of a bore size.

      @@codyf1562 you do own builds I have an Ls vtec with ctr pistons and aem tru time adjustable cam gears with pro 3 cams. So I'm trying to see how this all gets put together properly as I've been told to go with a different cam for the set up like Skunk2 pro stage 2 or type r cams

    Those afrs are damn near boost afrs.. pull some fuel out... Wanna be 12.6-13.0 for all motor! Sounds great though! 👍

      @@popiwatvyeah 13.0, 13.2-3 is almost perfect but 13.0-12.8 is near ideal because of safety. Only boost needs richer because the fuel helps keep the heat down. Anything richer then 12.8 on a naturally aspirated setup is going to hurt power if you’re running pump gas or ethanol.

      That's where it made the most power and liked it. We tried leaning it out but lost power.

    Hows the car holding up? I wonder how long the sleeves will last. Anyone know of way other than sleeving to ehance the b20 cylinder walls ? The car sounds like a fkn dream man i really wanna make a build like this but im worried it wont last

      The car is doing fine. I daily drive it, beat it everyday other day lol. As long as you do daily maintenance and don't neglect things it'll last. HOWEVER....I have a new video I'm working on. No more b20v or all motor. Full gsr, fully built, big turbo, and a goal of 600hp.
