- The most complete and detailed steps on Cam Degree setting
including how the lobe center changes if you advance the intake or exhaust
Our engine example is on a set of gen1 Skunk2 Pro3 cams and
Golden Eagle adjustable cam gears
We also include how we lock the vtec rocker arms via spacers on the vtec pin, the simple yet effective way that has less room for errors.

I have no idea what your doing but ill probably watch it about 4 times 😂
in time or over bfast or beer sometimes suddenly it clicks and we get it 😂
Man!, I love watching your videos. This is way easier than using peak lift to find the Lobe Center!
My reaction was the same when I first learned it! Hehe I’m like “lobe center?” Well yeah why not get the center of the opening and closing numbers and that right there is your
Center most lobe center 😂
@@SRDmotorsports hahahahahaha agreed!!
Yuuuup
Thanks for this video sir. Im becoming more interested in cam degreeing.
With aftermarket cams and aftermarket camgears it is very important
As even each aftermarket brand camgears show different degree lines from one another
Pro 3 cams are nasty and loves really high compression, love seeing these cam degree vids brother
Yes sir! Pro3 !!
What’s the minimum compression you would run on these? I’m thinking of going 11.5 my buddy ran these on 14.1
@@ekcoupe5059 minimum on pro3 I would run a static 13:1 compression ratio, because of the very aggressive cam profiles they perform way better with high compression. 11.5 compression you can get away with pro 1 or even tuner 2 or tuner 3 cams which are under the pro series cams. Pro 3s aren't great for street cars because they make no kinds of power in the low to mid rpm ranges.
yesssir im learning a lot with u 📹
Thank you brother! It’s nice to see also that u get it after checking the older degree vids and the other builds that’s so cool!
Thanks for the informative videos! I've been watching your videos to learn how to work on building my B20V project.
Just wondering if you could do a video on adjusting valve lash before degreeing the cams or even when doing a valve to valve clearance check?
It’s just basic the lash and reason it’s always online the specifications needed
And it’s hard cuz for example
0.07 for me is different than my colleagues 0.07 the feel and touch of drag will always be different each person
man im learning
Super super glad man 😎
Nice content raplh!
@2:45 on the lower right side of the screen, did u cut the piston in half? Hihi
Yes sir I guess it was time to have a revamped degree vid and including the math
And yea good eye hahah that’s a PHK in half I used it when I made the piston ring video last year to show how the rings are supported by the ring lands haha
@@SRDmotorsports #sharpeyes.. hihihi
Very good video
Thanks brother!
What method do you use to dial in the Asymmetrical cam profiles? I have a Pro 3+ set of cams on a Race B18 with 12.5:1 cr, itbs and freeflow 4 into 2 into header with integrated Megaphone at the end of the secondary collector. Exhaust us 3".
Lobe center method
Normaly po pag. Itr cams po gamit na bseries pede din po ang +1 in + 7 ang ilagay
NO… please sana people would stop ung ganyan walang “setting setting kalokohan”
The adjustment is to get to the ideal or preferred lobe center… ITR or skunk2
Kalokohan Yang may mag sabi dapat “eto setting”
Each resurfacing ng head and block moves the cam at a certain direction so IBA IBA pa din… then add each adjustable camgear brand are not marked the same per degree
Kaya I never payed attention Sa “ano setting”
kase it doesn’t do anything…
Example may nag buo b16 nka piston at lahat and CTR cam pa nag 160whp lng 😂
(panigurado nag setting kung ano ano based sa kanino)
When sa ITR cam “lang” na b16a we already did 186whp
that’s 26whp diff sa same displacement and smaller cam kame…0
normally OEM cams Tulad ng ITR ang setting perfect sa stock camgear which is zero
Bali adjustable cam gear napo gamit sir b20 16a head po
oem cam sha so zero zero is still an ideal setting
Is this for a b20v? 0 on intake and +6 on exhaust
Yes sir on this gen1 Pro3 specifically (each gen degrees differently I have noticed)
Basically the intake centerline is set at 100 lobe center, the exhaust centerline is set to 104
Lobe center
that’s all that’s needed to be followed
As each brand camgear will show different degree on their markings on the “correct” lobe center
Even Gen 1 gen 2 gen 3 Pro series will show different “on the camgear”
That’s why it’s always the lobe center that’s checked not and never “what” camgear settings it is
Great Video!
Glad this was useful man!
@@SRDmotorsports btw ...when you mention for example '7 degrees' advance in the exhaust cam ...are you saying: 7 degrees camshaft? Or degrees crankshaft? I ask because of the camshaft speed being half speed of the crank speed business. Thanks!
always camshaft cuz it’s cam degree markings
Another banger
Tried to be more detailed and showed changes when advancing plus didn’t forget about showing how I lock vtec 😅
Good stuff !
Glad it’s of help :) thanks for checking it out man
Brother man were can i get a cam degree tool just like yours? If you don't mind sharing that information
I got it from Xenocron when it was still open but the same owner also runs race-spec for harnesses and parts so he might still have it there on the second shop
@@SRDmotorsports as always thank you very much for the good information brother man,i was able to find it on line
@@favianromo1990 oh nice u found it at Race Spec? So I can check in the future haha
Brother man do yo know how much horsepower this engine made in the Dyno?
Unfortunately owner sold the car after participating in a car show after 🤣
But back in 2017 we did 233whp (dynojet) on a b20vtec on Pro3 and it ran a best of 12.1seconds in the 1/4
Personally I think it is safe to see 235-245whp on pro3 easy (on a 2liter)
@@SRDmotorsports wooow thats very impressive, CTR pistons,Pro 3 cams and a b20, 230 hp?
That's very impressive as always thanks for the info brother man
Yes the newer YCP that’s CTR style or 1Up pistons
I think it would be easy for u too especially if u run a skunk2 ultra street intake? U could make better numbers we just ran an ITR intake here and before
No problem brother! I’d like u to do it too and it’s always nicer to know others did it and we can always come back here and talk about it 😎 sadly expenses never ends huh 🤣
How much cr do u run?
Depends on available fuel and octane and tuner capabilities… best fuel + bad tuner = blown engine… for pump gas here locally as we don’t get e85 at the pump we run 97ron which is roughly 94US octane I think
I can run as much as 13.2:1 no problem ideally 12.7-13:1 is good for street on pump gas
I messaged your Facebook and was wondering why I did get a reply, I'll check you on Instagram then
When did u get a reply and which Facebook? Cuz I got no access to the page anymore
@SRDmotorsports I sent the message Thursday 6:45am and didn't get a reply since
Oh I thought someone replied I’d freak out 😂 yeah hit me up on IG buddy
