Convert Kitchen Cabinets to Drawers - Farmhouse Renovation - Kitchen: Part 1

- In this video, we take on the KITCHEN! More specifically, our cabinets. I have wanted drawer bases for our cabinets for a while now and Zack has made it happen. WOOT WOOT! We custom made our counters so we didn't want to ruin them by replacing our cabinets, and to be honest, new cabinets are just not in the budget. So this was our alternative and I LOVE IT! Zack explains how he went about making this happen for me and we hope that you find it helpful! Now back to finishing the Kitchen!
MATERIALS: All we needed to purchase for this was:
~1 sheet of melamine board
~4 sets of soft close drawer sliders
~1 tube of wood filler
~and a sample size can of cabinet paint to touch up.
All in, we were under $200 for everything and it was completed in a few hours.

Good job, but I would have made one of the drawers deeper with higher sides, fronts, and backs. But maybe you guys already know what you are going to use the drawers for and do not need a deep drawer.

I love it!! It inspired and provided clear guide to how to built pull out trash drawer as I have thus very thin cabinet but I’ll built this small shelf or custom built holder trash can to install

I would love to do this myself to all 5 sets of lower kitchen cupboards. Q: our cupboards have a 3” or so vertical board in between each door...can I just cut this off-or do I need it for support on the top drawer?
The middle piece will be there for support. You could do 2 tall drawers, one for each door and have it pull out with shelves on it?
Lordy, with my old knees, I can’t get down looking for pots and tops. I got to get pullout drawers. Can you do my drawers and what is the cost? 10:30
I dont understand how to measure where the slides go if im doing two drawers. 😮 Do i measure the drawer fronts or the actual drawers
Is there a reason why you made the drawers so shallow and did not just put the sides directly onto the fronts?
Where did you get the drawer face boards from?
They were the original doors. The opening for the doors was perfectly square so we were able to reuse the doors as drawer faces. Hope this helps!

I wish my fiance was a problem solver instead he ignores it, justifies why it doesnt need to be done or i have to find someone who can do it my self. 😭
That gets worse after marriage, kids, and a house, when there's more going on. Better think twice.
Second that…I married mine, we don’t have kids yet, and he wants to do nothing around the house. I either take care of stuff or I have to call someone. But he sure loves the comfort that comes after the effort.
I’d say, make sure there’s a thousand other reasons you’d want him around. At the end of the day we all need a life partner, who would want to be part of finding solutions.
My desire to have children has slowly worn off.
