You wouldn't be able to cut an arm bone with that sword. A sword that could do that would enter deeper into that thin wood (1/4" thick by his own admission). That belt sword would cause muscle damage and hit the bone, but wouldn't cut it clean. Much less decapitate a person. Such wounds wouldn't be decisive in a fight and you'd be in big disadvantage against a person fighting you with, let's say, just a combat knife or heavy blunt weapon (a crowbar or a baseball bat). I suggest people research into flexible blades and their disadvantages and keep in mind that most of the examples you'll find are from weapons less light and less flexible than this one.
Let's bet $10,000 that the blade will go through a 1.5" in diameter solid hardwood tree limb...tougher than most arms. And of course you have tested our weapons; if you have not...your statement would be foolish.
I think you'd be better with something than nothing, in a fight, and a bladed weapon is a big deterrent to an attacker. It would not matter if it'd chop someone's limbs apart or not, it'd do just fine slicing someone up. It can clearly bend and stay true to shape, so why wouldn't it make a nice defense weapon? Even has a really nice looking tip to it that'd be great for thrusting, and with the capability to bend SO much, it'd gut somebody with no problems, I think.
@@bioodfox7805 a metal that bend this much wouldn't penetrate much in the flesh either. It would do less tissue damage than a thrusting rapier. You wouldn't do enough damage with it to put an attacker into shocking trauma, not even after consecutive hits. Bending this much is the problem. The amount the blade sunk in that thin board shows it can only cause light lacerations. If it doesn't inflict enough shock, your attacker will only keep attacking you. And if the attacker wants to tacker or grapple you, you only have one hit to cause enough shock to stop it, or else you'll be tangled and wont be able to get a good hit anymore. I trained with a jian (chinese sword) and even that sword is considered weaker to other chinese swords because it is flexible and that soak part of the momentum that you want on the blade impact. Basically, even bastard swords and katanas aren't super hard and kinda "whip" at your target on a good hit (specially if you hit it hard at the torso or shoulders). From that hit, part of the impact goes back to the blade and make it bend for a second (unlike what is shown in fiction), but it's okay because most of the energy goes to the impact, which makes the cut. A blade this flexible will have the problem of wasting too much impact back at the blade, specially on thrusts, where it would lose it's momentum by bending (this even happens with rapiers, which are less flexible that this thing).
@@MrRaposaum I think you're exaggerating the flexibility of this blade a little. It has the capability to flex, but is not floppy. It cleanly cut into the wood, and I assume held it's edge. Anything that can lacerate a piece of wood, could easily do so to flesh and bone, which, when living, is softer than wood. But I digress, I can't make any claims or do anything but speculate. I think it'd hack someone up and cut them pretty badly with an edge on it. If you can hurt someone with a box cutter, this should be a piece of cake, lol
At 2:48-2:49, you can get a good idea if the thickness of the "plywood". Its maybe a .25 inches at most. In all reality, the demonstration was showing a toy cut poster board, not "plywood".

After seeing it cut pretty sure that a cut to neck would be game over and yes would deliver horrible cut to arm but go through bone... nah you need heft and sharpness before that could happen and serations, although make nasty cuts also bog blade down and affect penetration. Not saying I would ever want to get hit with this but I am saying if you ever pull a weapon you have just created life or death situation and you better be able to finish the job because now you won't be shown mercy, so might have just lost your life instead of your money. This knife can only slash and not much stabbing penetration which is what you want to end knife fight quick, it takes alot of damage for someone to bleed out unless you get lucky and get artery and on moving target harder than you think, if you don't want to carry a gun then fixed blade knife with enough blade strength to penetrate skull or ribs and get the heart or brain is the way to go. That being said this thing is pretty stealth and one would have to really want someone to tangle with it once pulled! Deterent for sure!

There’s absolutely no legal way you could carry this in California. I’m betting most states wouldn’t allow this.
I totally agree but i still want that belt in case my 12 others blade and 3 guns aren’t enough

Knife belt in price...
Does it work with any belt
Negative - we supply the belt; it is custom manufactured to accept our patented "Flexible Linked Steel Containment Rail System".
There are several belts material options; including but not limited to a typical dress black leather belt...made for concealment. Extra thick leather; the highest quality you can buy.
We are design engineers; custom made for each client.

What thickness plywood?
Normally we use 1/2" thick for our testing; however in this case we used a thin 1/4" sheet of plywood
Curtis Koehler thanks. Looks good.
listen idk how many damage it’ll do, but I’ll tell you right now I do not want to hit by it.
Depending upon the RazorSword type and weight; the weapon is as lethal as any historic or modern day battle ready sword in its class.

Cool
Sad! But you have no idea when it comes to the efficacy of our weapons, and weapon systems.

Will it cut ur side tho
This is common sense. How long would we be in business; if the design of this weapon system allowed it to cut your side. We would be sued out of business.
The weapon is secured inside a patented "Flexible Linked Steel Containment Rail System".
Which sword is that? The Apex Predator?
No...a Lightweight Class weapon; however an APEX blade would perform similar. And thank you for your other kind words.

You are welcome Sir. I am intending to buy the RazorBlade. I am a 41 year old man, 36" waist size and 5,87 feet height and a self defense practician. I also live in one of the most violent States of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro. I liked the APEX Light Heavy Weight but I am not sure that it is the right for me. What would you suggest? Thank you.
Please e-mail me at CEO@RazorRazor.com - we prefer to consult on weapons and tactics in a private e-mail. We will discuss your options in weapon weight, thickness, rigidness, length and point type. Each weapon system is essentially custom fitted to the operator.

There’s absolutely no legal way you could carry this in California. I’m betting most states wouldn’t allow this. And if you did choose to wear it then actually using it to defend yourself would only land you in jail. I’m pretty sure even a military soldier isn’t allowed to use this on an enemy. You can’t engage anyone without permission and you can’t just hack and slash who you want.
Mr. Milk Toast; how can you walk upright, and stand without a spine. You liberals do nothing; while the bad guys stab, shoot, murder and rape the innocent. Over 100,000 US Citizens die each year from fentanyl overdoses that come across our boarder illegally.
I answer to a much higher power than the communist state of California.
In this country you have the right to defend yourself from attack.
You need to learn the history of our republic, and the sacrifices true patriots made; to protect our rights…including but not limited to the first and second amendments to the Constitution of the United States of America.
I will sell you a spine; it will come in handy.

@@curtiskoehler9398AGREE. But on your own website you specifically say the opposite. You talk about deferring to the local district attorney to determine the law and whether i should buy your product, which you specifically state not to do until speaking with said district attorney.
So my question to you is if you will change your policy and ship here to California because if you won't it seems like YOU don't have a spine.
@@Marcus.Halberstram
I have owned numerous companies in my life and have learned that it is better not to fight an unjust legal system; especially in the communist state of California.
Background: I was originally trained (As a civilian, and only as a civilian) by US Army Counterintelligence personnel in Interrogation, gathering and assessing intel, and polygraph verification. I spent a lot of time in South America; where I honed my knife skills and weapon designs. Some of the elite law enforcement and spec-ops that I have had the honor to know; have more confirmed kills than you have friends and relatives. Let us talk about spine; has your knife introduced more bad guys to the almighty…than my knife?
The far left California Attorney General would like me to ship to your state. Perhaps you are one of those left leaning prosecutors (Without a spine, without a heart, and without common sense) attempting to entrap me) If you are; then the words of Elon Musk aptly apply… GO F*** YOURSELF!!!
You appear intellectually challenged for the inability to figure out an alternate shipping methods... such as a “third party forwarding services”. (This is junior high school level)
Regarding alternate shipping remedies; you must lack friends/relatives that live outside California…willing to receive a package in your name "Care of". Generally speaking, those that are socioeconomically challenged; lack friends, resources, relationships, and connections to assist them in furthering their initiatives. Or perhaps your friends and relatives do not trust you.
In light the items above; and during a time in which our great republic is in decline…I take no greater solace in forever denying you the privilege to ever-ever own a weapon system from the RazorRazor Company.
You would be better served to obtain a quality education or skill, and work with determination; to become a contributing member of society. Rather, than wasting your time, trolling the internet to find pleasure in demeaning others that are accomplished, and have learned how to survive in an unjust world.
A liberal is two square feet of confusion, delusion, and denial; surrounded by reality and common sense!

Yes, some blades we place into a deliberate state of slight plastic deformation. The greatest amount of deformation...over the entire length of a 36" blade...is no more than 1/2-inch, and that is a rare exception. Most blades placed into deformation are between 1/16" to 3/16"; from a physically impossible perfectly straight blade. Again, this is over the entire length of a 36" blade.
Further, show me any man made material that is perfectly straight; unless NASA has created a special perfectly straight material. Even the glass on your kitchen window is not perfectly straight. (Of course, glass is not a true solid) So, what is the acceptable standard deviation of a blade from a perfectly straight line. A Japanese Katana has a bend of 1-inch or over 1.5-inches over the length of its blade.
Are you familiar with Hooks law, the physics of elasticity, and the difference between yield strength and tensile strength. Do you know what type of steel we use; no not just spring steel...exactly what type. What is the HRC of our spring steel? (Hardness on the Rockwell C scale) How hard do different thickness of spring steel need to be to prevent plastic deformation. What is the relationship between hardness, thickness and plastic deformation? If you worked with spring steel; some of the higher grades have a hardness of an HRC 48-51; not hard enough to prevent plastic deformation. I could go on and on. You would rather carry on a conversation over the internet; if you called me I would destroy your theory about our blades and the physics of spring steel.
Do you know how to laminate spring steel blades with the physics of molecular adhesion...at the molecular level? The lamination system we developed has never been done in the sword making profession...never ever!
