- We are back with another Dimash video that has been highly requested. I have never heard some one hit the type of notes that Dimash can. It is absolutely speechless listening to this guy perform.

Haha yeah you got to get into it when you're playing on stage with such an amazing singer! Love you guys! The bald percussionist who was playing all those different instruments did join Dimash's band and is now a permanent band member and you can see him exuberantly doing his thing in all the live stage performances and concerts. He's has just the right kind of dynamic personality. The band is called A' Studio and it's an established Kazakh band based in Russia. This song was a big hit for the band in 1998. It was sung here by Dimash in honour of the lead guitarist Baglan Sadvakasov who died in a car accident in 2004, and also of the band's keyboard player/songwriter who is a music coach for kids and teens. Dimash thanked him respectfully afterwards for his work with the youth and said it was an honour to sing in front of such an appreciative audience.

I think you may find watching "The Singer 2017" show fascinating on UA-cam, but don't forget closed captions for Eng. subtitles. It shows the growth of Dimash on the show. He was invited to the show as a "dark horse". The first foreigner and the youngest contestant ever. They knew nothing about him except the producers, and they were shocked. He became an overnight sensation. The day after his first performance, S.O.S., they had to provide bodyguards and he thought it was a joke. After the show, he remained in China to record and do concerts. A studio with top-of-the-line equipment was built for him. He is still a very humble person who loves his family, his country and its traditions, and his "Dears". Even now he trains for 3-5 hrs. every day.

You can tell he's talented, cause he can make you feel the emotions even through the screen without actually being at the concert, that's a true talent besides how great his voice actually is. The section you didn't know what it was, it's called throat singing.

7:57 Dimash, sang the Diva Dance in his 2017 Bastau concert. There are earlier versions such as from the Chinese I Am a Singer contest where he came in 2nd. The organizers did not allow a foreigner to take the top price. The winner has long been forgotten; while Dimash is now a global superstar! There us also a rare clip of him performing the Diva Dance when he was a teenager.

Having watched a multitude of Dimash reactions, I've discovered that black people seem to have an almost spiritual understanding of the importance of music and are not ashamed to show how they are effected when they experience someone as unique and otherworldly as Dimash. In general, I've found their reactions to be respectful, joyous, knowledgeable and eloquently expressed; the two of you are an excellent example and I watched you with a sense of warmth and camaraderie - this from a middle-aged Brit of Swiss/Caribbean parentage! Anyone with a negatively stereotypical view of black people should watch and learn that black people such as the two of you are a credit to humankind. I hope my wording is not inappropriate or in anyway offensive, being PC is not always easy, however, my sentiment comes from a place of good intent.
This is a cover of Sinful Passion originally by A´Studio. The bass and the piano players were part of that band and the second was one of the songwiters.

It is not yodeling but an ethnic technique relative to yodeling but needs more control on the notes you sing than in yodeling.

Still just the tip of the iceberg. When you do Stranger you will have to blur the video or you will be blocked. Same with Ave Maria. Ikanaide is another beautiful one. Their lead singer passed away a few years ago and the ethnic piece of singing that Dimash did was a lament to him. I wish you had played the video to the very end as you would’ve seen his humility in thanking the band and also have noticed a man in a white shirt give a standing ovation. This is maestro Igor Krutoy a very famous composer who came out of semi retirement after watching this performance, to write for Dimash. As you go further down the Dimash road you will react to masterpieces (no exaggeration) where the two have collaborated together. This was another very enjoyable reaction and commentary. This was Dimash's 2018 guest performance at the New Wave competition held annually since 2002 at the New Wave Hall in Sochi Olympic Park. The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The keyboard player, Baigali Serkebaev, composed the song together with the poet Ilia Reznik, and the song was first performed in 1998. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away in 2015, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts.
Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh UA-camr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Sakha people use this technique too; they call it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies. The final run is 21.73 seconds on one breath.
This competition was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. He invited Dimash to perform and it was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I Miss You, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, Stranger, and Ave Maria, just to name a few. Since this concert, he has been collaborating with Dimash, writing music with his vocal range in mind, and often accompanying him on the piano. So you'll see more of him.
There is another performance of this song of one of his more recent concerts. It is as good or better because you can hear certain parts clearer and the camera stays on him most of the time. "The song Sinful Passion, was first performed in 1998 by the Kazakh group A’STUDIO and gained leading positions in the CIS charts. Sinful love soon visibly materialized in the clip with soloist Batyrkhan Shukenov. The talented vocalist left the band in 2000. Without the lead singer, “Sinful Passion”, recorded with the help of an English producer, lay in obscurity for nearly 20 years, never becoming a worldwide hit until Baigali Serkebaev seized it. He offered Dimash to play it in 2018, twenty years after its premiere. The words of the song are the inspiration of the famous poet and composer, People's Artist of Russia and Ukraine Ilya Reznik. Group A - Studio in 2018 celebrated its 30th anniversary. For his great contribution to the development of the culture of the republic, Baigali Serkebaev was awarded the title of Honored Art Worker of Kazakhstan (here he plays the keyboard). Dimash can be safely called a magician. By the power of his voice and talent, the composition about sinful love came to life out of nowhere."

I liked the performance he did on the show better, just cus the bastau one sounds a bit too artificial when you listen the first time. Hearing the confessa + diva dance version first helps you appreciate later iterations. By the time you get to drunken concubine + diva dance, it's just not even from this galaxy anymore

Right before the final 22 second run, he ''performed'' (that means he artistically transposed ) an East European funeral ritual, where women around the body of the deceased scream out loud right before the body is being lowered and layed into the ground. It is said that this section of the song was somehow a tribute Dimash paid to the leader of the band he is playing with in this performance, who died some years ago.
