Hello. Love the video. Stumbled upon it while searching for some answers for an issue my xr1000 is having. I’ve had this router about 2 years now and have had little to no issues. But recently my online/ internet light started blinking red and green. It doesn’t seem to be affecting connectivity and net gear has nothing on their site regarding it. I’ve reset it and done the firmware update. It’ll return white for a few hours then start blinking red and green again. Have you ever heard of this? If so, what can I do to fix? Thank you kindly.
Hi, usually that happens when the modem has issues, such is cutting the internet connection for a second and reconnecting. Or losing and refreshing the IP address in the case of Dynamic IP setups. So I recommend checking the Modem, and the cable between the modem and the router.
Can I access the NETGEAR duma os from my phone with all of these settings? I don’t have a pc just an Xbox
Unfortunately the Duma OS on an iPhone has limited options, so you will need to sue the IP address of the router and login using chrome browser on your iPhone. The IP is 192.168.1.1
The ports are 1 gig each, as it only supports a 1gig WAN and that 1gig is then split across the the lan ports. Duma is from a company called Netduma who are in partnership with NG. This router is the RAX50 with a different case and Duma but unfortunately it does not have the full feature list of Duma 3.0.

I connected it to my FritzBox 7590 via the Blue WAN Port and to the Yellow Internet Port on the Nighthawk XR 1000 but i dont get a Connection do you have a fix for my Problem greetings from Germany 😀
Greetings, you need to restart the FritzBox 7590 while the Router is ON and let it refresh and reassigned the IP address to the router.
Does this work with Xbox and do you have to plug your Acual modem to this router
Yes it works with Xbox, and yes you have to plug in your Modem to the router's WAN port and use the LAN ports to pug in the Xbox.
do you know if a netgear modem is required, or will the modem my ISP gave me be enough?
Any modem including the one provided by your ISP should work fine.

I don’t know if you can solve my issue or not but I got fiber like probably 3 or 4 weeks ago right because it this became available and I got the 1gig plan and I was this using the gateway for probably 2 weeks then I decided to test the xr1000 with the gateway and at first everything works fine all the features are working as they do geo filter is working no issues but maybe 24 hours later or sooner without any warning the led changes from a white led which means everything is functional and working properly to a steady orange led which makes it to wear I can’t connect to the internet what’s or ever no matter if I’m using a wireless connection for my phone or a wired connection for my ps5 if you have a way of fixing this issue that would greatly be appreciated it sorry for the long paragraph this had to explain everything that’s going on currently
Turn OFF your Modem while the router is still ON, wait 10 seconds and turn your Modem ON again. This should refresh the Dynamic IP and you should be back in business. Thank you

Keep the router ON, while you power off your Modem for 30 seconds, then power it back ON. It should fix the problem.
I'm trying to log into the interface, but the ip address is the same as my vodaphone modem, so when I type that in I only get the vodaphone login not the net gear. Any solution?
That is because you are on the Vodaphone Wireless Network, you have to log into the Netgear Network only then you can gain access to the login page.
So I just bought this router and it came in today. I did the installation correct and wifi is working but my ethernet isn’t. The light for the Ethernet connection to my computer is showing a white light and my computer registers the connection but only for a few seconds. I have tried unplugging, plugging it back, tried changing ports, pretty much did everything I could think of. Can you please help me?
First make sure all your wiring is CAT6 and not the old CAT5. Second make sure the LAN port on your computer is not disabled from the Device Manger. Third make sure your router has the latest firmware on it.
I ordered the XR300 & it should be coming in soon. I bought it in order to use it for my Xbox Series X thats in my room. Keep in mind my ISP router is elsewhere & out of reach.
I’ve been trying to figure out on whether or not it’s possible (after the setup of course) to have the XR300 with my Xbox in my room so I can have a wired connection, without the XR300 being wired to my ISP router. Im not sure if after the setup, if the XR300 can function individually. However in case, Is it possible for the XR300 to use the internet from my ISP through Wifi alone or would i have to get a Wifi extension or something of that sort.
My end goal is to have the XR300 with a WIRED connection to my Xbox WITHOUT the XR300 being wired to my ISP router.
If you know, can you please clarify to me what is necessary for me to reach my end goal?
The XR300 is not the highest speed router, it is optimized for low ping. This means it is ideal for gaming, but when you daisy chain it with other routers it will slow down substantially. My recommendation is to connect it directly to your ISP Modem using a Gigabit cable " CAT6 or CAT7" and then run another Gigabit cable to your computer or Game Consul. don't use the WiFi because it is only AC1750 which is not the fastest.
Your end goal would be like using the XR300 as a WAP and in Access mode you have no control of Duma. Unless it’s your primary router QoS will not work.
So my xr1000 connects to my series x for a couple minutes then disconnects constantly. Anything I can do?
I had the same issue, but it would only trigger disconnect when a heavy stream was happening such as 4K video playback etc. So I updated the firmware on my XR1000 to the latest version and it reduced the cycle of disconnect but it didn't completely eliminate it. I contacted my ISP which is Cox Communication and they found an issue on their Cable Modem and fixed the problem for me remotely.
Does the modem come with the cable to connect to your router?
Most of them come with at least one RJ45 cable, but not all of them do.

@@BigMystic for a better ping I recommend an Asus router, any model of ASUS that was manufactured at least within the last year should give you excellent ping
You need to use the web browser fyi you can use the browser on the phone but the app is basically locked down no options

I feel your pain, I had to struggle with it too. Simply turn off the Modem and restart it while the new router is connected to it. After that, it should work as long as you did all the settings correctly.

Its even posible fore internet provaider block new routers ? becose i conect my oldest cheapest crapiest router on the market and 2seconds and its working 100% fine with old router
@@lmalac The internet service provider can only block a Modem, not the router. So maybe you got a defective modem.

Yes you can do that, it will not use the entire band width if the download speed is only 400mbs

@@HiramTuaPR No because even at full 600mbs you are not maxing out the performance of the Router. You will however push your modem to its limits, so your Modem will still be the bottleneck, not the router.

Unfortunately the input of this router must be hardwired to your cable modem. So you can't use it downstairs unless you run a RJ45 Network cable from upstairs to downstairs.

You only pay for the Security Service if you activate it, you don't have to activate that. There are tons of free internet security and antivirus software at no cost that you can install on your computer. For example AVG, Widows Defender Avast, and more.

Yes I did, and I was very disappointed with its real-life performance. Absolutely not what I expected it to be.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 what was the issues? I am strugling with wifi speeds on my tplink ax50, have gagabit connection but cant even get 80mbs down on 2.4 ax connection.... was looking at returning the ax50 and getting the 82u....
@@ChrisDied I had the same exact problem, I would get full 1Gbs speed from my modem but less than 300mbs through this router.

@@ChrisDied Yes even with the 5Ghz it was a joke, now I am using ASUS RT-AX82U and it is better, but still not what they advertise it to be.

Unfortunately you must have a modem, and an ISP to use this.

A slow Ping could also be due to your ISP, not just a bad router. The fastest ping can be achieved by getting a Fiber Optic internet service, however it is not available everywhere.
So I've just bought it I've set it up by connecting my Nighthawk to my Sky router through the cables and I have it connected up.
Two questions for that: Do I connect to the Sky box router since it's connected into it or do I connect to the Netgear?
And as for connection, it does work for my phone whilst I'm downstairs next to it, but I have my computer upstairs and I'm not getting any connection whatsoever, it shows up and I typed in my password to connect but I'm not getting anything.
Since for some reason even though my Sky router is right next to the Nightgear router I can still connect and get perfect Wifi, just the Nighthawk router wont do anything at all unless I go right next to it.
Okay I did a Diagnose so now I'm connected to the Netgear. But I still need to know how do I make my wifi speed improve more? Since I did the Connection Benchmark and my Download speed is 71 and Upload is 18. Since I'm doing it Wireless is there any way to improve that to make it faster?
Yes you have to make sure your Network card in your computer or laptop supports AC1900 or faster. Otherwise it will be of no benefit to have the fastest router when the bottleneck is in your computer. Remember that your wireless speed is as fast as the slowest factor in your network. These are the things that determines your internet speed.
1. ISP speed, ( Internet Service Provider )
2. Modem Speed
3 Router Speed
4. Wireless Card Speed

Restart the modem while the router is ON, then try again.

Try updating the firmware, it might help.
I can’t access DumaOS I’ve had it for at least 2 years and have never been able to login
Make sure you do the following
1. Connect the router to the computer via LAN Cat 6 wire, and not via WiFi
2. Make sure the LAN wire is connected to the 4 LAN ports and not to the WAN port.
3. Open a new browser on your PC and type this 192.168.1.1 if no luck then type 192.168.0.1
4. Enter your admin user name and password, the factory default username and password is admin/password
