Eventually I got my business going (It took a lot of mentorship, studying and banging my head)... there were lots of trial & errors, but If I paid close enough attention and studied up on your videos, I found a lot of answers in your videos. Fast forward, i don't know everything - but business is doing just fine and sticking to my wheelhouse i have had a lot of happy customers. Want to thank you for helping me get going, even when you don't even realize it. Recently encountered a 19 Wrangler (Push to start flip prox w/ sip22 blade) and couldnt find the can hi or lo behind the glovebox, but gateway module was right behind OBD port so i went with 12+8 on that one. Customer was in a rush so I didnt spend much time, but i couldnt find the wiring pair behind the glovebox on that one.
So does connecting to the 12+8 do the same as connecting to the hi low...? Can you do one or the other...? Or do you have to use the brute force cable on some vehicles...? Thank you.
@@gb7886 yes both do the same thing. The 12+8 plugs directly into the gateway module (2 plugs). The gateway module is sometimes easy access. It is the easiest way. When the gateway module is hard to access (behind instrument cluster or radio), you instead talk to the gateway module using the canbus hi/low with the brute force. Anywhere there is a canbus harness, you can tap into the hi/lo and communicate. Sometimes they are behind glovebox, sometimes kick panel, sometimes behind headlight switch, sometimes in headliner. So SGW 12+8 is my preferred method cause its plug n play easy. But canbus brute force tap is best when the SGW is hidden deep in the vehicle.
I just unlocked a used 2020 Ram key and programmed it with the smart pro. I will try the Autel next time, yea forget that brute force cable and get the AD cable. 👍
Hi, nice and very clear video... I have a quick question, though, i have 2021 ram 1500 classic, i found the star connect and tap the two wire you showed but cant get the pin. I think it 5 rolling pin for this model not 4.

Great video, I've been able to successfully make remotes this way with my x100 pad 2. However we have this 2018 Chrysler 300 at our shop and when we opened the door the alarm was set and the customer lost the keys. Now due to the alarm being activated I can't get the pin code or communicate with the vehicle. Is there way to deactivate the alarm and use the x100 pad 2 or am I going to need another scan tool? Thank you
The reason for connecting your key programmer to the star connector and not to the OBDII connector is because of the gateway module, isn't it? Thank you

Good question too, customer have one key and want add new, in the system we have 3 and I want to delete them, as they are lost (or maybe not) Now I guess if we do AKL existing working key won't be able to re- learn (except the new one not programmed yet, or when we delete keys from slots and then add/relearn existing key will be locked and non usable anymore (unless make it virgin if possible) , I am really confused here😊 any comment really appreciated :) Great videos as always...
Or they get locked to another vehicle but not for existing..... Newer play with that so better ask somebody more experienced (I would tri it on my car, but my vehicles are old and good 😊 no keyless or proxy.... Thanks

I have looked online for locations on that black security box called FCA, to plug 🔌 the 12+8 bypass cables into. But numerous sites & videos show that the FCA black box could be anywhere from the left side to the right side to behind the radio to behind the dashboard. Is there a way to find out exactly where the FCA black box is without tearing the 2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn apart?

I got XHorse products after I starting watching your channel. I got a Key Tool Max Plus , just finally ordered the 12+8 bypass cable for that black box , so I can get my PIN number for 2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn. Problem is finding that black box (I believe it’s called FCA). I looked all over online and it seems that black box (to hookup the 12+8 bypass cables) seems to be just about anywhere. From the left by the steering column to the middle behind the radio or the far right passenger side under the glove compartment. If you got any advise I would appreciate it. It came with out icons but i sent it in for a repair and they fixed and replaced my software..when i checked it had icons ..but this is on my autopropad full version ..the one in this video is the basic ..has no logos :((

Wich basically came out last year .. and if you saw the old Autopropad vehicle list coverage website page you would see that it says yes .. old style not new style key.. but yes i saw the video by Autopropad.. so yes your correct my apologies

The smart pro cable plugs in directly works great, also I did a 2020 Ram with im608 but you can’t use unlocked keys must be factory brand new
