BATTLEFIELD 1 - The Rageaholic

- Опубліковано 13 вер 2024
- The Battlefield franchise journeys back through the mists of antiquity... to a time when headshots were kneeshots, every soldier in 1918 was black somehow, and Banalfield was a joke instead of a descriptor.
I can't take a game seriously if the Turkish soldiers look more white than British ones
I want a story with mainly black people, battlefield streets of Chicago. Make it happen dice
LOL, I'm black and I found that funny XD
Yes, then we'll all be able to play as American authorities shooting brown people in our own neighborhoods, as apposed to overseas.
Battlefield Chiraq
Nah get Bethesda to make an open world RPG in the ruins of Detroit it will be like Fallout minus the Nuclear devastation, only Democrat devastation lol
The Crimson Fucker True lol
EA says "b-b-but trench warfare is BORING!" yet some of the best moments I've had in Battlefield One's Multiplayer were the moments that took place IN the motherfucking trenches.
They have also forgotten that Verdun is a game that came out years before this one and is still a successful WW1 game and one that helped spawn the sequel Tannenburg. If you have not played it trenches galor and you need them in order to survive the battle and even then you might end up dead.
The best moments in videogames that I've had were those extended gunfights between you and another player.
@@V2011F
I tried Verdun and was not impressed. Between the overly-realistic damage tables which rendered the game boring, the indecipherable upgrade system, completely unrealistic and clearly unresearched scope FOV, and dull, lackluster, last-gen graphics graphics, I found it to be overhyped and not worth my time.
The only downside I saw to BF1, that it just feels like a mod of the last Star Wars Battlefront occassionally, especially the desert levels.
Sure, the game isn't that deep, but each class had a very specific role to play, considering the lack of customization for troops. It was just a very fun concept with working mechanics, and for it's time, it pulled it off very well. It's dated like hell by today's standards, but that doesn't mean it wasn't great.
Child0fVis0n Definitely one of the best parts, I never had the fortune of playing online, though.
What!? Screw you Bundy; you can stick it up your Ashens. (see what I did there? Didja didja?)
Well, I just recently found this guy's channel, and I must say his savagery is beyond a doubt, unparalleled.
Holy shit, Razor actually recommended a Battlefield game...this is one bizarre year.
Veni..
Thanks, Clackdish, for revealing another way to say, "I came."
Brexit, the first Kek President, Nusra&co. being besieged in Aleppo and losing the game twice, Pizzagate, Kanye endorsing literally Hitler, Razor recommending a goddamn Battlefield game......will current year+1 ever be topped?
EDIT: HOLY SHIT FIDEL CASTRO IS DIED
WE'RE REACHING KEK LEVELS THAT SHOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE EVEN UNDER IMPOSSIBLE CIRCUMSTANCES
And now not so much
Wait...you're recommending an EA game? A fucking Battlefield game!? What year is this? where am I? This is...so....confusing....
This is Trump's America now.
It's time to grab life by the pussy, and murder fools with the a10 hunter shotgun before they nerf it.
It's 20-fucking-16
SpaceManDawn Totally read that with the background sound of gunfire and an eagle in my mind.
Pop queens and Metalheäds, living together! Mass hysteria!!
HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS, IT'S CURRENT YEAR, BABY!
I'm just going to assume you listened to Motorhead's 1916 the entire time.
That Motorhead music + BF1 gameplay combo is insane!!! You're awesome!
More sensitivity issues than Steve Shives. RIP my sides...
WE WUZ SOLJAZ N SHEEEEIT
Fun fact, the black men who served in World War 1 mostly loaded and unloaded ships, barely any of them even saw the enemy and they did not take part in ANY of the major battles.
Also, there's nothing period specific about everyone being armed with guns that were produced in quantities lower than the amount of blacks that ever saw the enemy, i.e. a few hundred at most.
Thracian Tendency I get that the game isn't historically accurate, and may in fact be pandering, but knock it off with the alt right racist bullshit.
James Thomas "The "we wuz kangs and shit" meme is definitely a bit racist"
That meme mocks racist you dumbfuck.
It makes fun of morons who like to believe that past historical figures and people were black based off of retarded beliefs and so called "evidence" that holds no weight.
Sorry, but you fail at trying to sound like a righteously offended individual.
James Thomas How is a joke racist? Are you claiming that black people are descended from the Europid peoples, who inhabited North Africa? Or that ebonics is something which isn't real? I don't get it. Ebonics does exist, blacks speak in ebonics in very large numbers and blacks are not descended from the people who built the Kemetic civilization and if we're being pedantic, African Americans specifically are not descendants of the black Africans who partook in Egyptian life in the later years of the kingdom.
Thracian Tendency I've not studied up enough on the African peoples to know whether Egyptians were black or not. So i can't debate with you there. All I know is your meme is one which directly targets, generalizes, and insults an entire group of people. To me that's a bit racist. I'm all about live and let live, I'm not lecturing you just because it happens to be blacks you're targeting. If it was someone generalizing whites I'd be arguing with them as well. I don't know if you're truly one of those "America is for europeans" type people ( I hope not). But there's no reason to dislike an entire group of people.
rorschach1985ify So you agree there can be bad whites as well?
Man, I love all of Razor's videos but this one made me laugh so hard that I my lungs immediately regretted my recent return to smoking. Razor, you are a better salesman than anyone's marketing department. I wasn't going to pick this game up but as of 5 o'clock this evening I will be doing just that.
2016.Uniquely one hell of a year.
Like a classic novel, with a long gratuitous buildup ending in shit going down- no wonder so many people can't handle it.
Meanwhile COD decided it wanted to be Halo and outside the CGI cinematics sucked balls. Good to see THAT franchise collapsing sales wise.
Terran Gell (I am going to assume he also edits the intro-trailer-clips) needs a medal for being able to make any shitstain of a game look and sound fucking badass with his editing. Huge props to both of you.
WE WUZ

ALL THE SNIPERS

Mercado tbh there were non white forces who fought for axis
+Noah Hill I think the Turks were allied with the Axis, but I believe they had some allies with some Arab tribes also. Forgive me, I'm not a huge WW2 history buff.
I would like to see a civil war game in the series, but all this sjw bullshit lately, it would most likely be a ruined idea.
BlackMetalGods have you seen war of rights?
I heard about the game but forgot about it until you mentioned it. I didn't even know history channel had any games lol. Looked it up on Wikipedia, on the reception segment, it say's there various historical mistakes, I'm not sure how accurate it is since it's Wikipedia though.
There's also the mount and blade north and south mod, but you should look more into the war of rights game, I believe they have a UA-cam channel
Words Hurt I have not, but just checked it out on steam. Looks very intriguing, thanks for the heads up.
***** That would be awesome, I've love to kill some redcoats.
A war between a tribe called quest vs the clan would be awesome
Loved this. Awesome. Yet to play this more than an hour or so from the beta, but may pick it up in future.
In my opinion the DLC content of this game improved it in many ways. Especially the French and Russian DLC’s.
what do you think of Verdun as a WW1 game Razorfist? would be really interested to hear your opinion on it.
Personally, I wasn't impressed. It showed great attention to detail in some areas, like the gas masks, and complete ignorance in others, like rifle scope FOVs. Seriously, did they not even HOLD a scoped rifle?
Good lord, what a weird fucking year.
Weird how your review was actually more positive than the "solid 3/5" that I've heard from most other reputable sources. Now if only they could tell a historically accurate story to go with their shiny game.
Wow this has been a weird year. Not once did I hear Razorfist say Banalfield in this review. Let's hope DICE can follow-up.
RasenTensho448 Darn so close.
I think I caught a "Beta-lfield"
One year later...
To be fair, only the Western Front was the slow slug fest. The Eastern and Italian Fronts were actually quite fast paced and filled with constant moving.
I was SUPREMELY dissapointed we didn't get to play as a member of Rommel's unit, or any German unit for that matter. It would have been perfect, because you could show the other side without the icky connotations associated with the Axis of WWII. Hell, if Dice REALLY wanted to pull a COD: MW2, and do something controversial, they could have put you in the shoes of a German who turns out to be Adolf Hitler.
WWI: 1914-1918
WW2: 1939-1945
The story mode is just a 4 hour training level.
Goddamn! It's a good thing you rip games new assholes because it really means a lot when you recommend a game haha. Good stuff man!
Even with its flaws, BF1 has been a very fun title so far and been enjoying the weapons and Operations mode.
Dude automatics for everyone lmao
this game would have you believe that everyone had a BAR, Thompson prototype, and MP-18 at the ready.
Probably the greatest single review ever. Amazing.
Minor nitpick: The woman in the desert campaign appears to be a Bedouin judging by her facial tattoos, and I don't think clitorectomies are practiced by them. Otherwise great video.
Although the game itself does seem pretty fun I'v gotta say the lack of a playable France and Russia is an absolute disgrace.
It's because $$$$$$$$$$$
Isaac frith Don't worry, EA already said that France is the first DLC pack.
If you want a real WW1 game play verdun...
Verdun is overhyped and boring. The scope FOV alone is ridiculously inaccurate, to the point I wonder if they even HANDLED a scoped rifle if any kind, let alone a period one.
Perfect song for the outro.
Due to your fantastic Mythos episode on the Maestro, I recognized it immediately.
Videos like this is why this guy is one of the only reviewers I give a damn about.
I have to agree with Razorfist here.. As a man with a lot of interest in the tragedy that was World War I, and as someone who could point out every glaring historical inaccuracy this game has to offer, I too very much enjoyed this game.
I kinda get why most ww2 games didnt get an axis campaign (despite the red army really not being much more humane and they got included in single player. But a ww1 campaign should try to show the war from both sides. Such a scenario screams for joining the German storm/shock troopers or fly with the Richthofen squadron.
Actually i don't understand at all why ww2 games don't have axis campaigns. Your missing out on a ton of story material. Such as these two senarios.
1. Your a german ordered to massacre civilians in russia against a wall, which is the intro to the seige of Leningrad or something. Your character gets shell shock, and has flashbacks from doing the past horrible deeds you commit throughout this mission, and future missions. This could be amazing for a sad, and brutal reality story.
2. Your a japanese soldier in nanking during....duh. You watch tanks roll over tied up civilians/prisoners, women being forced upon by soldiers, and worst of all you are ordered to participate in the slaughter.
This mission could also switch between a lone Chinese rifleman fighting against the japanese unit.
Not many attrocities during ww2 get that much screentime, and it's a shame really. It's gold for a story about how bad war can get.
Nah fuck em we won. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Or fighting alongside Rommel in the Dolomites.
id have liked to see a campaign from the German or Austrian perspective as well as a Russian one. i guess we shell have to see what the DLC has in store. also id have liked to have seen a vinyet set during the Panhandle offensive as to me that offensive exemplifys the futility of the war its self
Germany was in the hands of the Moustache in this period. We can empathize with their suffering. Although the WW2 germans were suffering too... But I don't know, they were brainwashed by the Moustache.
@@Chordus_Gaius
The Moustsache was a private in the army at the time . . .
I was looking forward to his review of WE WUZ KAIZAS
Speaking of surprising good campaigns, Titanfall 2 is god damn amazing, lol.
I really can't take it serious when you talk about controls in an FPS and then admit you are using a controller. You might as well be trying to control a motorcycle with a ship's wheel. It doesn't work.
Of course I'm using a controller. I may be a PC gamer, but I'm not touching Origin with a 20-foot pole.
Origin is fiiiine. I know we all just want to use Steam. It's really, just fine though. DRM on every account.
*****
Can't blame you.
Sal X
There's a lot about Origin legitimately spying on you and really taking a deep look into your computer that Steam doesn't do. At least when it started. Its also about EA just being a piece of shit you never want to get near I guess? Either way some people just don't like a thing and refuse to get near it even if it is harmless.
EA has some especially negative connotations with, for example, all the dev companies they have deliberately bought and killed off. So even if the Origin platform is 1:1 with Steam there's still some kind of feeling of a line being crossed to give in and use Origin to some people and you're just gonna have to learn to respect that.
I feel like both of the things I wrote are essentially two posts saying the same thing, but whatever.
*****
I hope someday you'll grow out of this nonsense.
Bad Comp 2 is the benchmark for this series, IMO. It was so much fun playing a BF game where buildings were actually destructible. Enemy team camping in a building? No problem - no more building... I used to laugh my ass off looking back at the map and seeing not a single erect building.
Not being able to play the French inside a map called Amiens got to be one of the definitions of Irony. I look forward to their next WW2 game with the nazis in DLC
The British were the main combatants at Amiens . . .
BF1 is the best Battlefield. My friend and I STILL play it when we want a change of pace. Operations is by far our favorite mode.
Seeing this game released on the anniversary of the Somme just feels wrong. This game doesn't do justice to what happened and i can just imagine the soldiers would be spinning in their graves.
To be fair, no game can every do justice to the realities of war. Other mediums are better suited for telling the stories.
Even films fail: Saving Private Ryan, to a great extent, glamorizes WW2 in ways that you wouldn't expect. It dehumanizes Nazis as "hurr durr evil guys" rather than show that they were humans fighting against others *they* saw as evil.
I'd go with written word of novels for being able to explain the intricacies and horrors of such events.
At the end of the day, Battlefield 1 is just another game in a long line of games, that at best, uses historical events as setting for selling/telling a *fictional* story.
Well, in defense, it wasn't until the later years WW1 devolved into trench warfare. In the early years, the war was pretty fluid, full of moving fronts and cavalry charges.
2016 has been fucked up
Thanks. Now I can get this for my husband for Christmas
You ever play Verdun? It's a more realistic WWI game.
Definitely worth a check, great use of trench combat.
I've gone back to this video just to hear 3:33 - 3:40 simply because that joke's so hilarious that I remembered it
Just a nitpick at your nitpicking the underrepresentation of trench warfare:
Most fronts other than the Western front actually saw mostly dynamic warfare. And even the Western front was quite mobile at the start and end (Kaiserschlacht) of the war.
I truly recommend an awesome channel called The Great War for best WW1 info on UA-cam.
"Welcome to The Great War"
*Cue intro music*
by mostly mobile that is at the speed of a man walking. That's how fast front-lines changed. It was slower paced, but not much different that some cases in ww2 really. Everyone tends to overemphasis how fast ww2 was, when in reality it wasn't all that different in comparison to late ww1.
The majority of WW1 was spent in the trenches, waiting for the chance to charge only to get mowed down by machine guns or shells. The reason late WW1 was so fast is because the influx of fresh american soldiers tipped the scale. It was nowhere near as fast as this game depicts.
Yes, that's the western front, as I wrote. But WW1 was much much more than just the western front. Plus, the game takes place in 1918 when the western front itself saw quite some movement, as you yourself admitted.
Foxík Fox Never mind, I misread your post as saying that the western front had the most dynamic warfare. I totally agree with your post now that I read it again.
If there's not a Canadian Vimy Ridge section then fuck it even worse.
Battlefield 1 where the franchise future decided it’s was one and done.
Continues to be the single most underrated UA-cam creator in the UA-cam stratosphere. Shame.
I came for the review. I stayed for the unexpected yet hilariously placed Steve Shives jab.
I'd still rather be playing the earliest installments of the franchise. At least they had AI bots.
I've been playing BF since the 1942 inception, and while yes they've declined a little, just think of what they are doing with that computer...the sheer possibilities and options of action the games have. I think BF2 was the best of the series.
Nice video! R.I.P Lemmy.
It really does feel like we've stepped through the looking glass a bit......
The Fourth Horseman has arrived. Razorfist recommends a Battlefield game. THE END IS NIGH! THE END IS NIGH!
I know it's waaay too early to ask since you *just* released this review, but any chance you are playing Dishonored 2 and thinking about doing a review? If not, what's your overall opinion about the game if you've played it?
What're they going to call the sequel to this game?
Battlefield 2?
Thanks for your commentary on the election, man. You should let Razorfist's alter ego out a little more. Seems like a pretty pragmatic dude. Anyway, love the content, and I'm looking forward to playing this game now
Wanting more is always better than wanting less so I applaud the single player
Anyone notice that the one white, male American was a lying, opportunistic con-man who turned out to be the least heroic, likable, or noble character in the entire game?
War to End All Wars at the end, excellent taste!
"Gun Porn" is the very reason I picked up Battlefield: Bad Company back in the day. Up to that point, there were very few choices of games that put as much detail and accuracy into their weapons (not even King Wanker Hideo Kojima could manage to get the sounds right).
If I care enough to get a next-gen console, I'll get this game first.
If it was't for the last part I would't know if he liked it or not. A Rageaholic he is for sure.
As soon as I heard Motörhead in the intro I had a hunch you'd turn out to like this.
Been waiting for this one mister rage.
I did not see this coming. I guess i am just still not over the lack of trenchwarfare and the omnipresence of autoloading rifles, as opposed to bolt action ones. Oh well time to give it a shot.
KerpSteen I think the first dlc is said to have more trench maps but that is I have been told.
That "wonder of wonders" while flashing the picture of the Collosus of Rhoades killed me
Maybe I'll give this game a rental.
Im definitely going to have to give this game a shot when it hits the $20-$30 mark.
Revocate Life I'm just waiting for this Friday to get it
On Origin it's on Black Friday sale right now.
lol origin lol thats a good one
Judging from the background, a new metal mythos is being filmed? I'd guess Abigor.
Interesting, I've never had issues with hit boxes. HEAD SHOT KING, BIATCH.
Good review man, I was afraid this game was going to be a buggy unbalanced mess. Glad to see I'm mistaken about dice and EA for once.
What an incredible time to be alive!!!! :D
If only the shadow of Battlefield V could be seen from this point.
i think it would be intresting to see a german campaine "inspired" by Ernst Junger and his work storm of steel trying to capture the way he aestheticized war and violence in storm of steelin the same way for example brooks did in his poems or Italian writers did in thre books and journalism
Let's be real battlefield2 and battlefront 2 from 2005 are both the best in their series
Now in 2020, the "Operations" multiplayer is as dead as Tutankhamen, while the CoD-like YOLO "run around spray and pray, or quick scope with sniper rifles" element of online multiplayer is still alive.
Actually a lot of African units serve in WW1: Harlem Hellfighters, 371st Infantry Regiment, 372nd Infantry Regiment, 366th Infantry Regiment, Senegalese Tirailleurs are all black units during the time.
But once again: There was a limited on-the-ground presence from the U.S. _period_.
So for a fraction... of a percentage... of an _atom_ of the overall troops in World War 1 to be so overrepresented in the actual multiplayer (every other soldier you play as is African) lapses _well_ past absurdity into laughable pandering.
The pandering is starting tick me off to be honest there was some bitching about no female soldiers in the game too.
What about french black units like sengafese tiraillerus, do they not count?
The women's battalion of death not rell any bells.
+starwars90001
As a german, I had a good chuckle when I saw game footage of black german soldiers on the western front.
Such fucking nonsense.
It's quite off topic under this video, but I remember you said on Thief nightmare arcade, that you love Legacy of Kain.
Do you ever going to make a retrospective of that?
That ATCQ / Wu-Tang shoutout! Wonder if Razörfist likes any of their music.
Are we forgetting the campaign where they write out the men who gave their lives to stop heavy water development by the Germans and replaced them with two women who apparently took on an entire German battalion single handily
Wrong battlefield
Personally I have a hard time thinking of a way the Isonzo front could be done correctly. The closest I come to atm is a mix between The Long Dark, Silent Hill 2 and Ghost Recon. That whole mining into the mountain side to later blow up part idk how to spin that in.
Good video btw.
Oh don't you worry, I'm sure EA will find some way to fuck up Battlefield 1-2.
bf1 in one sentence: 64 people playing single player against each other.
To all those who are complaining that we should of had an online game of this size and scope earlier: WE DID. It was called MAG, and it was only on the Playstation 3. Up to 256 people fought for control in a tactical fps that, dare I say it, ruined nearly every other fps for me until battlefield 1. Yes, it was that good. The problem: nobody really knew about it, and those that did backed away quickly because it required more skill than your average mlg call of duty fuck fest. That, and the support it was given usually only favored 1 faction out of the 3, which resulted in heavy bias in the playerbase. But, nonethless, MAG was an amazing game. Even though it only lasted 4 years before Sony pulled the plug(zipper died a year prior.), it shaped the way I look at online multiplayer, and set some of the highest standards that not even planetside 2 can reach: A good, fun, tactical, mission driven, first person shooter on the largest scale ever known to consoles at that point. If battlefield 1 can almost reach that standard and pull me in past all that, you know its good.
Well Razor, I believe it was EA Dice that said "No one plays single-player anymore".
necrovision has trenches. and while it wasn't a tripple a blockbuster and therefor no big success, i liked that game a lot. think painkiller meets clive barker in a ww 1 scenario.
I'm enjoying it and all but what is with the following:
1. How profoundly unbalanced the operations were at launch
2. The super OP indestructo-horses
3. The fact that you can "Light up" a blimp from across the map so fast it's almost cetain death to spawn in as a gunner on one.
Haven't actually played it yet, been really skeptical about the franchise since the BF4 launch disaster. Looks interesting enough. Isn't the black guy in the game from the Harlem Hellfighters, a WW1 regiment formed exclusively by african americans and puerto ricans? Wouldn't that kinda explain why so many soldiers in the game are black? Nice video as always, Razörfist.
He is, but you know people always find a way to complain.
"melodramatic"
insert Inigo Montoya quote here
For your gritty Great War trench battles, play Verdun.
2:57 they could have just focused more on the middle eastern fronts to avoid that. God forbid they inform 13 year olds it wasn't just Germany vs Britain,France and America
Definitely didnt see the hype the game got for its campaign, but the multiplayer was definitely fantastic
7:34
I guess I don't have to ask what YOUR favourite handgun is in Resident Evil 4, do I?
Loved the shives bit.
