I built a version of this recently. I was wondering why I would keep getting feathers and no cooked chicken. It was all going into the lava, just like you said. I put a minecart with hopper where you have the hopper (since those grab items quicker) and then I put a hopper under that. I started getting cooked chicken! But I'm sure some was still burning. I didn't think of the solution you shared. I love it!
i made the farm split up my eggs then half went to the actual farm but half went to my friends base to get dispensed he never found why he had so many chickens spawning in his base
I did something like that to someone once. I set up a player-detector, with a dispenser under some of their farmland. All of it was hidden under the surface. So anytime he WASN'T there, but the chunks were loaded, it would spit out chickens up through the farm block. I set it up that way so he'd never hear the dispenser go off, because he wasn't around it when it was working.
Just place the crusher system a block further to the left or right, then place a piston next to the output of the dispenser that pushes the hatched chickens into the crusher, without having the eggs launch on them every time. You can find some tutorials on how to make the piston repeat itself indefinitely.
@@julia221103 I found the problem, but working on solution, the items are getting burnt, I am trying to use a block lower than the slab but higher than a normal block (iron trapdoors are left to test)

I would think you could alternatively just always use water wherever you could use lava, and the cows would drown rather than burning. As long as it's a model where the liquid is staying in place rather than flashing quickly, anyway.

with the lava annd cooked chicken problem, theoretically cant you just build the non lava one but then have a hopper under the chest and build a super smelter so it all goes to get smelted?
None of it works for me and my friend on his ps4, the redstone comparator lights up but when I place the sticky piston it never responds, it doesn't move the observers. Also the dispenser won't shoot the eggs into the space because the slab is in the way, I have no idea how y'all get this to actually work.

So it’s faster
24 chickens allows for the most amount of eggs while not causing entity cramming
