    My name is Fieldey, I’m a surf, skate and street artist from Australia. I started this channel 5 years ago when I was an unhappy corporate designer yearning to become an artist. Since posting my very first video I’ve been on a crazy journey from teaching myself to paint surfboards and skateboards, to painting large-scale street art murals!
    Turning my passion into a full-time career has been a massive learning curve and I want to pass on the skills and knowledge I’ve learned, as well as inspire others who’re just starting out on their creative journeys.
    I post on Saturday every fortnight, sometimes more, and you can expect to see easy to follow, Mad Skillz Masterclass tutorials, Artist Insider vlogs and inspirational projects that I’ve been working on.

    Can you explain why you mix a warm (cerulean blue) with a cool (hansa yellow) to make the green? The other secondaries you mixed cool with cool or warm with warm. Thanks for this...I now understand why my purples are never purple! :)

    love your videos. they have helped me a whole lot recently. one thing i would change is the volume of your background music. your soft, pretty voice gets a bit lost sometimes.

    Another question: how do you know which of all the different kinds of blues, reds, yellows, and whites to buy? There seem to be so many names! Cerulean, ultramarine, phtalo, prussian, ahhhhhh!

    I don't understand the part where you mention the blue having a green bias making it warm when you mentioned earlier that green was a cool color

    • @FieldeyTV
      @FieldeyTV  8 років тому

      There's a bit of contention about that exact thing, when I was researching it there were two schools of thought about whether a yellower blue (ie. green bias) was a warm or cool blue. Here's some good information about it: sharonhicksfineart.com/blog/57475/warm-or-cool-ultramarine-blue-vs-thalo-blue-

    • @felicetanka
      @felicetanka 7 років тому +2

      i think it's because you dont want a complentary-color-bias in the primaries you are mixing. eg you want a blue with yellow and yellow with blue for a relatively more vibrant/high chroma green. as an amateur artist i have time to think and digest the theory. thankyou and for your videos.

    It's called the color's "temperature" just to add to what is a great video (don't think the term was used).
