For me personally, the TR3 is the perfect knife. The only thing they can perhaps do to make it 'better' is to use a better blade steel but then again, 154CM is nothing to scoff at. I love the ergonomics, I love the size, I love the geometry, I love the aesthetics. I love the way the blade fires out.
Love the griptilian comparison! I carry a griptilian for edc as a construction worker and am very familiar with its size, so this comparison is awesome for me. I had a Godfather and loved it. Definitely fired harder than most any automatic side out I have owned. Only thing close has been my microtech ludt. I have been wanting a tr3, and this review solidified my decision. I will get the lefthanded version, even though I typically carry righthand

I finally got my hands-on a TR-4. Does anybody else think they are super rare and hard to get?
The fish-scale stonewashed version of the TR3 was my first ProTech and I love it! 👍🤠
Of all the knives in the TR line from Protech, this is my absolute favorite. Love love LOVE the TR-3! I own 3 and plan on picking them up as both an EDC and a collection. Their 154CM is really good and as long as the presentation side has some kind of texturing, it is good to go for me. Can't beat the fact that it's a quality USA made small-batch knife from a hardworking crew over at Pro-Tech!
Love my TR-3. I’ve actually found the grooves help more with traction than I thought they would. Overall one of my favorite protechs as well as one of my overall favorites. And yeah MC the pearl button means it’s the TR-3 LTD. Wish I had gotten this one over the normal beadblast blade I picked up. That satin blade is really nice looking. Thanks for the look and review MC
Mother's polish and u can turn the bead blast into a close finish like the satin

There’s an operator version (all black, no markings, tritium button) of this right now with the fish scale pattern.
Just ordered the bladehq exclusive in fish scale grip and s45vn. Great price with the upgrades compared to just the 154cm.

@@jojojaykay got it yesterday and is a solid nice knife. I’m about to order the other exclusive with the different grip. You won’t regret it at all. The standard grip model will be my carry knife, while the fish scale will stay put. I’d love to buy a tr4 or 5 but I just don’t want to pay that price for 154cm. I get it, it’s a great steel but eh. I’m used to the higher end steels.

I'd like an extended version of this,, with maybe a tiny bit thicker but longer 4.5inch blade and with the corresponding handle length to accomodate it.
Robert, check out the TR-4 LTD, not quite as large as you were describing but a full 4” blade
Picked up the TR-3 left handed, been wanting a left handed auto
I had the very good luck to pick up a left-handed version the last time they did a run. Fantastic knife! Very much appreciate them thinking about us southpaws. Picking up the lefty Godson next, and then it will be waiting on the lefty Godfather!
I've had this in blue jazz finish with stonewashed blade for about four years.
I don't carry it for fear of scratching finish.
Gonna buy another and use it as edc and beat on it.

I have this knife with a bead blasted blade it's an awesome knife around $150 and USA made is perfect. Have you seen the operator series of this knife that will be coming out soon? Its all blacked out and it has a tritum insert in the push button. Looks badass!

Hey I just wanted to reiterate it @metalcomplex that this doesn't run on any type of washers it just runs on straight aluminum from the handles, there is nothing.
It's great that he also makes this knife for left-handers. It is quite difficult to get a quality knife for a lefty, especially in the Czech Republic. But in the end I managed to buy it, even though it was $ 227. Even so, I'm glad I have him.

Honesty this isn't really an answer but that is an absolute toss-up both are phenomenal knives from fantastic companies

You know...im so tired of the tr3 getting so much praise..its a (flawed) design..it has multiple reports of the blade rebounding and not locking..mine included...i don't care how many years it's been in production it's a known issue that protech has to be aware of...if it comes to a shtf situation in other words life or death scenario and it fails to lock and just rebounds well that would or could be a life changer..mine was rebounding out of the box..i don't care what kind of customer service protech has...they need to start by doing a few adjustments to stop it from happening...my godfather has never ever rebounded..so and by the way microtech ...dont look so smug..you have your issues as well.
This channel literally gets 45,000+ comments / year. I've never once heard this complaint. Sorry yours is having issues
@@metal_complex hey bro..love your vids..i look other places besides youtube for info as well..i have one of the original boker kalashnikov an 74 knives with Aus 8 still fires hard always locks $40 vs $180+...and this comment isn't toward you..your a great reviewer however..im sure some of the companies take a peek at your vids just hoping they'll address it..as I said my godfather hasn't had this issue.
