Dave is such a nice guy, everytime I go to bladeshow he's there managing the booth and is so down to earth you'd never guess he's the President of the company. He even handed me the show winning blade valued at $20,000 without any hesitation just to show off the craftsmanship because I was already so impressed with the production model and was going on about how big a fan I was of their work not even realizing who he was. Great company, great knives, a must-have in any knife guys collection.

I agree. I bought a special blade show knife from him in 2019 #50 of 50 and saw it a month or two later on Blade HQ for less than I paid at blade show. I sent him an email questioning it and he sent me a free knife. Great man and company!
Protech is friendly in general. I’m 18 but I look like I’m 14 or 15 or something and Protech was the only booth that asked what I was looking for. I went up to 3 other booths and only one of them said hi. The other two looked at me in silence. I just left the knife show after that.
They should do a non auto version of the “GodFather” with a flipper tab and call it the “Step Father” lol
But then people would hate it. No matter how hard it tried, how much it made good by its name, how much dedication it made to treating you right, it just would be your real father :(

I cant pay for the higher end protechs but i did buy a protech TR-3 it was around $140 brand new. Its been my edc for a while now i love it

The level of care and detail that goes into every protech is why I am waiting for a restock and have been for a month on the knife I want.
I have considered getting another auto (like the Benchmade 9400/940 Auto) but Protech is next level and worth waiting for.
Plus, Dave is a helluva guy.

Me and my son met Dave at the NY knife show. He was so nice to my son. Told my son he was a teacher before protec. After that my son said his first knife had to be a godson. He got his black and red godson after hunting around for months. Was a great experience. A really cool down to earth guy.

I got to tell you I've always wanted a godfather and I wasn't able to get one until I found vendors that used sezzle...... Now I'm on godfather number 4 another operator just like seen here.... I was even able to snag unlimited edition anodized blue godfather with abalone firing button. Awesome knives

I picked up my first Protech - TR-5 last week. I must admit this knife is fantastic...price can always be subjective based on budget, history, and need/use, but I am now a fan for sure. Solid quality at every level IMO. I hope to add additional version in the future.

Love all my Protech knives! Looking forward to this new Operator model Godfather. Would prefer deep carry clip like some of their other knives, but I can always add later. My favorite is the Magic "Whiskers" BR-1 (own a few variants of those, too).

I bought a Malibu. I received it literally 2 days ago. I don’t even own an auto…😩. I have fallen in love with Pro-Tech. This Malibu is so crisp… so perfect. The geometry is great.. it’s super sharp… it looks AMAZING… the quality is top notch and better than most including your favorite big companies you can name in your head … got em?…. Yea this is better. Something about these knives just speaks to me… Pro-Tech is now my favorite brand and I will be buying more! You just have to buy it.. try it.. and then you will understand. You have to see for yourself! Amazing! The Malibu hype is real.. and now I know why! This is my favorite knife period! I haven’t tried the Rockeye auto or the Strider auto so maybe that could change but idk… the manual fidgety ability of the Malibu… it’s just perfect. It is the perfect knife!
Have spent a lot of $$$ on all my protechs over the years, I consider it money well spent!!!!! Carry one everyday
