Interesting fact about the X-Men (2000) is that after Hugh Jackman was cast there was such an intense backlash due to his height and the fact that he isn’t Canadian that the production team did everything they could think of to make him look shorter than the rest of the cast which included giving everyone else platforms in their shoes and framing the camera so Logan would appear shorter due to forced perspective but once the film was released and the fans changed their mind on Hugh they eventually gave up on it
I remember him on a magazine cover announcing he was wolverine. I laughed so hard! for so long it was gonna be either russel Crowe or dougray Scott, bad guy from MI:2. but they went with the Broadway guy and I was so skeptical. I think this criticism is what fuels Hugh Jackman to do right by the fans.
He makes a quick cameo in Deadpool 2 at the prison Russell and DP went to he's the first prisoner we see (he and Black Tom were supposed to have bigger roles but those were cut)
That was actually Saul Creed…Sabretooth’s younger brother, who they had in the Origin II book with their sister Clara. Logan ended up killing Saul and then Victor decided to make Logan his new plaything since he couldn’t pick on his brother anymore. It’s the reason that Victor hunts Logan down every year on his birthday to beat him down. It’s what he used to do to Saul.
Crazy that this dropped only two days ago. This is the content I was looking for EXACTLY! Just started the video but will leave my thoughts and reflections on it at the end. Looks promising!
Uh... Wolverine does not have a special connection with Piotr just because of the fastball special he has a special connection with Nightcrawler. Yes, they are friends, but Logans best friend is Kurt. It's not a state secret to anyone who reads comics.
I don't really think it's fair to use a scene purely intended for gags and is deliberately exaggerated for comedy as a reason to dismiss the idea. A proper attempt at a more comic accurate height for Wolverine in live action wouldn't be a tiny Hugh Jackman, it'd probably just be a shorter beefy guy.
Entitled "fans" complaining about height just seem like trolls. They can't be serious. 5'3" is extremely short. TOO short. In the comics they don't portray him as 5'3" most of the time. Sometimes they do, but most of the time they don't. If they did the 5'3" thing they would then have to worry about the physique. The thing is, at 5'3" 200lbs of pure muscle is VERY hard to have. Pro bodybuilders might have that but actors? Doubtful. If you want an impressive physique you can't have a 5'3" actor. I am not saying we should have a 6'3" actor, but I'm saying people whining about it not being comic accurate need to be a little more giving. Other things that are different that I hate to read about is the adamantium poisoning. IN the comics his healing factor easily takes care of it. Logan's variant was weakened due to the cure they were putting in the food supply. That makes total sense and explains how most variants in Deadpool & Wolverine were young and ok. Oh and in the comics adamantium doesn't pierce adamantium. It would simply bounce off it. So an adamantium bullet wouldn't pierce his skull and certainly wouldn't mess up his memories. It also wouldn't blow up X24's head.
The point of the character is that he is an animal. His height is important because people see him as a little animal attacking him hence being called “Wolverine”.
Franco Columbo was someone who could have passed for a more comic accurate Wolverine. If you've ever seen the first Conan movie, the one from 1982, he's the tattooed guy you see running through the snow covered forest. Curious how you came to conclusion that Wolverine isn't portrayed as being short in the comics, Sabertooth calls him "runt", he literally fits in Colossus hand. Daniel Radcliffe could definitely do a more comic accurate Wolverine. He's 5'5 and once he gets on that patented MCU diet he could get reasonably bulked to pull it off, even if he only got to about 160lbs-170lbs. He's obviously a good enough actor to be in a big budget movie.
its funny, but now accepted, that tall Hugh Jackman is playing a character named wolverine, a tiny animal that has a huge temper and is viciously always looking for a fight and usually wins with anything its size or bigger.
I never understood all of the thing behind Wolverine's height. Like, does it really matter? Heck, nobody made him that size in any of the cartoons or movies so why bother anyway? Even in video games he is just your casual height. So yeah, I say screw size. Because if the character in fun to watch at what he does then it's all what people needed. But what movie creators need to improve is his claws origin. Because, back in very first movie it was said that his claws was put inside his hands but later in X-Men Origins they said that he originally had bone claws. So why not stick to one origin instead of many? And that is what needed to be improved.
I just realized Deadpool 3 contradicts itself ... in DP2 we see the young X-men, but the timeline is supossingly the same, so later when he dances on Wolverines grave from that god awful logan movie in wich Professor X-avier is old and then dead ... it makes no sense. Also proving that X-men are a danger to mankind also got proofed via logan. A movie that destroyed both legacys, that of Wolverine and the X-men.
The Adamantium killing his healing powers slowly was also a extreme stupid af point in the Logan movie as we could see logan in that Samurai movie take radiation from a Nuke wich is way more likely to killed of his healing over time ... makes me think even more the logan directors did not care over prior source material what so ever.
“In the 90s (I think) Magneto removed all the metal from Wolverine’s body. It was revealed then that Wolverine still had claws but they were made of bone. It was one of his powers along with the healing and super senses. It was a retcon. Prior to that, the story was they gave him the claws at the same time they put the adamantium on his skeleton “ I found this on a Reddit post
@@Darius-b4q also it was shonw in days of future past that his skeleton had a mechanism. The original xmen movie went with this same concept, if you watch the xray on the first movie and the flashbacks on x2 it is clear that the claws were fully artificial, that makes logan backstory even more tragic.
Wolverine sucks ! X Men sucks... Wolverine is all preachy and has one of the highest body counts ? Trying to hit on Jean all the time ? The only interesting one is Magneto ! Aquaman is better ...
The guy who plays comic accurate Wolverine was shorter than comic book Wolverine.
thats because it was a joke so they used a little person. Dude is like 4 ft tall.

Actually I think the only popular recurring comic villain Wolverine hasn't faced in the movies is Omega Red
Would also love to see him fight the Windigo
@@joshstuder265 Technically he did in Lego Avengers code red.

Is it weird that I got an ad for Deadpool and Wolverine before the video started?
Same😂

Thank you so much 😊

Quick correction. In origin a fan wrote in asking if Dog was Sabertooth ? The writers said um yes that’s exactly who he is
Great video man, I thought this video had thousands of views and likes.
Seriously quality. Keep at it man, your channel is gonna explode
Thank you so much 😊
Wolverine's height in the comics reminds me of Vegeta's height from DBZ.
And they both kinda share similar heights.
The next Wolverine should be Jared Keeso. He has the physique and the acting chops to pull it off, as well as being an actual Canadian.
The yellow spandex was a reference to ALL of the X-Men's yellow and blue (and black) suits, not just Wolvie's.
I don’t think people realize that live action wolverine is more heavier than comic wolverine
Uh... Wolverine does not have a special connection with Piotr just because of the fastball special he has a special connection with Nightcrawler. Yes, they are friends, but Logans best friend is Kurt. It's not a state secret to anyone who reads comics.
I prefer Tall Wolverine over dwarf Wolverine, we’ve seen weird short Wolverine is in Deadpool and Wolverine, it doesn’t work on film
I definitely agree with you on that
Yeah I totally agree because for the life of me when watching Deadpool and Wolverine and seeing midget Wolverine I couldn't take him seriously

If you think Wolverine can beat Superman you are absolutely not educated enough on Superman 😂😂😭
