When Trump was asked about this disgusting problem in our military his response was "What did these geniuses expect when they put men and women together in the military?" This completely ignores the fact that since the vast majority of the military is male, the majority of victims are male, assaulted by other males. (btw, most male victims are not gay).
I attempted suicide in 2009 and survived with a traumatic brain injury in the frontal lobe, greatly complicating the PTSD I have from my assault and subsequent family estrangement.

I am happy to have people from my family that support me. The majority have cultishly turned their backs in disgust. I am grateful to have this time with my grandmother before she passes, even if it requires a lot of patience (dementia). My father's bigotry with politics and life, has cost him the relationships of his mother, brother, son, and who knows who else, I'm getting my information through a fractured grapevine.

Tanya McDowell didn't _'send her son to the wrong school district'._ She falsified a residence, but more specifically, it was considered felony larceny as it took more than $15,000 in funds from the Norwalk School District to pay for her son to attend that was not from that district. That charge 'stunk' to me as she was just trying to get her son in school at a time she didn't have an address, according to her. That was in April, 2011. That would not have gotten her jail time, probably probation and a fine with a reduced charge given the circumstances.
*That was not what got her 5 years.*
She was arrested and charged two months later for *offering drugs and prostitutes to undercover police officers multiple times,* including once in May leaving her son's birthday party to sell crack. Plus she was arrested in Nov., 2010 prior to the school thing for being in possession of marijuana and crack cocaine.
McDowell was charged with seven counts in total, including the 'over-charged' felony larceny. McDowell also had a previous record of bank robbery and weapons crimes that got her 18 months in prison a decade earlier.
And Navarro might serve his sentence after his appeals go through the courts. The judge let him go home today. If he were poor, he'd be in jail NOW!
Thats why Steve Bannon is still not serving his prison time. There's your 2 tiered justice system.

I think the reason for the economic pessimism is because perception doesn’t care about statistics. My pay gives me less purchasing power now than it did 2 years ago. Corporations are still doing massive layoffs. It still feels like workers are getting a bad deal, even as businesses report record profits.

Yes, if it weren't for the union no one would pay attention to people who built this country. I was grateful to have this young education. Forgive my ignorance, I do not know this gentleman. What strikes me is his name which is oddly reminiscent of Sinn Fein the Irish Republican Army founded in 1918 to keep the British out of Ireland and continue to protest the division of Ireland.
Sinn Fein (pronounced as shawn fine) roughly translates to “We Ourselves”.

For comparison, the number of victims on October 7th was 1700.
Our President is funding a fucking genocide rather than using that money to fix all the problems over here. Homelessness would no longer be a thing if we used that $14 Billion to build houses for everyone.

Joe Biden promised a public healthcare option but now never mentions it. Refugee kids are still dying in detention centers at the border. Biden has given more gas and oil exploration permits than Trump. Joe Biden helped break the back of the railroad workers union. Joe Biden has continued a proxy war against Russia and most importantly unequivocally supports Israel's ethnic cleansing of Gaza which pushes us to the brink of nuclear Armageddon. These undeniable facts are why the president is so unpopular because the broader electorate understands that he works for corporations, not them. Obviously the Republicans are fascist, but the Democrats through their corporate corrupt complicity are sleepwalking us into this grim future. They took on Trump's persona, the type of character that a person seems to have, which is often from their real or private character different, and through him made them believe that they had the power in themselves to do whatever they wanted, and turned it against anyone who didn't feel the same way that they did. Trump is a coward and the only way to be able to get through life is to become a bully, to "appear" to be strong and smash people to the ground. You choose to be a punching bag, or gather your courage and take a swing at the bully, which scares the bully. Whether you win or lose, the bully has lost face because you've challenged him, so that bully finds someone else to terrorize, to use their power in order to control them and feel self-important.
