We will be doing a meetup on the property Saturday, December 11, 2021. Not sure how much we'll have done to show you but we'll be in the RV and you can come by anytime from noon-3 PM. The developers are holding an open house and will be doing tours of the whole project that day too. Go to myrvland.com and they will give you details and if you want to come out to meet us, directions to our property. Also, we have done a detailed blog post on this at rvlifestyle.com/own-rv-land/
Such a sweet couple. This past summer I just purchased 4.5 a in Kentucky. My property backs up to the Danial Boone national forest. The feeling I just got watching this video hit home. The excitement and enthusiasm for having your very own private destination spot, is a very satisfying feeling. Oh and I'm also a fellow Michigander 🤗
🙋🏻♀️ Just what I’m looking for, unrestricted land for full-time rv living. Haven’t read all the comments as yet; just happened to see your vid and subscribed. Can you please share how much the plots are going for per acre? Will they bring water back into your setup site; what about sewer hkup? I’m assuming you’ll have to pay for electric run back in; approx cost for such? I like the further back-in area you’ve discovered for the perfect spot; more privacy nestled back in there amongst Mother Nature and the forest critters. 🦅
I lived in Tennessee a long time ago, and you sure picked a pretty spot. Red flags went up for me when the developer mentioned housing. As Ms. Ham said, "They come and they want a place where they can build a house." Imagine buying a beautiful place to boondock your RV, and for the next 10 to 15 years you get to hear the sound of construction of houses whenever you park there. That's what worries me about buying property in a desirable place.
You are right on both points. Very scenic and construction noise will be an issue for a while. I actually looked at, and showed my husband, the website for the realty company on these properties. Then I realized that every weekend is going to mean ATVs and dirt bikes.
Congratulations!! One warning for you, make sure no pines will be near your RV. Pine tar, pine sap & pine needles will literally destroy automobile paint. Southern pines are pretty, but can be deadly to paint. Advice coming from someone who has lived 70+ years in Northwest Georgia.
Mike and Jen I smiled all the way through this one. You two looked happier than younger versions of you as children at Christmas. We are so happy for you and can’t wait to hear and see more. We see the value and intrigue in what you’re doing and couldn’t be happier for you! Congrats
Awesome! Good for you guys! I love how you’re planning you’re future when I’m 67 and taking no more risks other than owning our 24 foot Class C! Anyway, Congratulations! Teresa and I would like to make a reservation at your new RV place!
so exciting. we bought 50 acres ourselves in GA and plan to build a house on ours. In the meantime we built a dock and gazebo on our pond, a shelter next to where we camp, and a shed.
Good for you guys! We are Wisconsin natives but my job recently relocated us to S.E. Iowa. We still have 8 acres in Wisconsin that we have developed into a camping site for our travel trailer and we absolutely love it. The plan is to add power next spring and a holding tank (instead of a drain field) for the septic. Some counties allow that option. Down the road we’ll have to drill a well, but for now we truck it in. We’ve used it for 2 years now as a boondocking site and I can’t tell you how nice it is to have your own private campsite out in the country. Our plan is to buy something down south in the future and do the same setup so in retirement we can go north or south and have a camping site ready for our arrival. Really excited to start following your story and getting some ideas from you. Good luck!
We're also thinking about looking into some acreage in Northern Michigan as well. With many campgrounds already essentially sold out for the 2022 season, having our own guaranteed spot is very attractive.
My wife and I have been snowbirds for 15 plus years. We divide our time between our Oregon and Philippines homes. For more than 6 years we have been saving/preparing for a new chapter in our lives. Our other lifetime dream is to travel the USA, Canada and selected parts of South America in an Class B or Class C RV. We have been following your channel with great interest and would like to learn more.
Great for you. We did the same thing here in Central NY in 2002 on seven acers in the wood . We love taking the RV over and just listen to the wind in the trees .
Your story came up on my Google newsfeed. Had to sub ! I am born & raised in Connecticut 🌊 recently retired and Tennessee is where I want to be hopefully next year 👍 Can't wait to see the progress . . .

Hey neighbor. Congratulations! We bought lots 2 and 3 just around the corner from you all totaling 15 acres. We love the area. Planning to put a pad on ours as well for our 5th wheel - with future plans to settle there after retirement. If y’all want to meet up and compare notes one day just let us know. BTW, the weekend we went and visited back in October the mayor of Linden authorized natural gas lines for The Woodlands - no propane tanks! Woo hoo. Be safe out there - Bill & Mary Ann…
Hi Bill and Ann, We bought lot #23 Oct. 30. We are looking to retire there also in the near future. It will be fun to see how the different lots are developed. It is a vert pretty area lots of open space. Congrats on your purchase! Looking forward to sharing ideas regarding developing the lots. Tom & Debra
@@tomstapleton8175 Cool. Love the open space and the views. We are just around the corner from you all on the original logging road. Looking forward to getting together when the time is right and we finally get up there permanently. Bill & Mary Ann
BIG CONGRATS to Mike & Jen and family on this! I hope it's something you all can appreciate for generations to come. We had a more permanent camp site when I was younger. Having that place to retreat to when you want to get away from it all is fantastic. Can't wait to see how it develops!
Congratulations you two!! How Awesome! I have been looking for a spot like that in W Virginia for about a year. I know you'll love it and it has such great potential! Can't wait to follow along!
Congratulations - You will forsure need a mule or lifted Big wheel golf Cart to haul things & just get around - We have one and love it - its so helpful with firewood - Dirt / Gardening - Groceries - or just to go for a beautiful ride . God bless 🙏🏻💜
Good luck with the property improvements. At least Linden has a small grocery store for forgotten items and what nots ., looks like the local hospital might be currently unavailable. (stating temporarily closed on some maps).
We will do a whole series on it because based on the email we get, a lot of people want to do the same thing. So we'll share what we learn as we do the various things like making a driveway, clearing the land, getting utilities in, etc.
Hi Mike and Jen ! Congratulations for your project. It is so nice and magic to see you put the sold sign on your own land. Have fun! Salutations from Ste-Christine-d'Auvergne, Quebec, Canada.
Gorgeous land! Really beautiful. I'am looking on internet to buy a land in the USA mountains, but I don't know which state yet. I already own a land in Florida. If you have some search pages to share that would be excellent! I love your videos! Greetings from Dominican Republic!
Mike, noticed something. When you were making your coffee the smoke detector battery was open. That’s why I don’t like this solution as you open it to turn off the alarm and sometimes forget it. You can get the same exact alarm with a pause or sleep button. When the alarm goes off, hit the sleep button and it will turn it off for 5 minutes and reset by itself. All the best, watch all of your UA-cam postings.
Thanks.... but I had just turned it off because I had just some toast and it had gone off just before I did the on-camera. And I turned it right back on afterwards.
Congratulations to the two of you! We inquired about taking a tour out there at The Woodlands but decided to go a different direction. Was hard to get the salespeople to quit contacting us after we decided to pass. Super excited for you!
