Your home is beautiful! I’m always so impressed with your frugal decor and how you can make a space feel comfortable and cozy while being chic. The library is gorgeous. Well done!

We love our ducks! I highly recommend them. Their manure doesn’t have to be aged and they don’t scratch the garden!

Such a lovely video. Its so nice to see different things that you are working on. Your home is really coming along. I have enjoyed watching the many stages and thought processes. By the way, seeing you working on your home encourages me that I/we are not alone. We have always been a one income home as well, I know that through the years we have had to sacrifice different things to continue this wonder and full life. God has provided many ideas and learning opportunities for us to come together, closer to him and one another as a family. I really can't look back in time with a smile and a heart full of gratitude. May you always know that it is wonderful that you are blessing your husband, children, home, this youtube community, and so many others. Please let the unkind thoughts not challenge you. By the way, would love the recipe from All Recipes you used for the Asian night that you had. Looked absolutely delicious!!!

Thank you, Alesha. I know the feeling of looking back in time, May the Lord heal us both and give us understanding so that we are able to! It's always nice to see a comment from you here, btw. Blessings to you! Oh, here's the recipe! Definitely a hit!!

I just ❤ your videos, girl. It feels like I’m going over ti a friend’s house for coffee (bc let’s face it, mommas gotta caffeinate while taking a YT break) and conversations for a sweet sliver of time. 😊☕️

Your home is such an incredible dream home in every way! It’s so calming and peaceful and the library and other rooms came out so good!! You are living so blessed and fulfilled and you are so rich in the ways that matter! I love your encouraging words of wisdom and reminding me to stay faithful and not get defeated by the many challenges before us. I wish i had the skills and creativity you have. Or the energy and motivation to do it all lol. God bless you

Congrats on the goats (I love goats). I loved seeing what was going on in the yard/homestead outside of the inside of the home. It was great. SO many potatoes!!!!!!!

I have raised dual purpose chicks for meat before. I found they took quite a bit longer to be ready, especially on pasture. We switched back to Cornish cross on pasture (they grow a lot more normal on pasture). Mostly because of the time. I wanted to be able to turn them out about the time the weather was good and be able to harvest before it was hot.

That library is so 😍! What is the wall color? It's gorgeous and exactly how I picture a cozy reading space to look...its like dark academia perfection!

Thank you so much! The color, It was from Home Depot and it was called Everglades if memory serves me correctly. My daughter and I were going for a dark academia look and feel for the color immediately!

My great grandmother had a saying for when it is simultaneously raining & sunny. "The devil is kissing his wife." Don't know if this is an old Irish saying (that is our heritage) but I have only ever heard my family say it. The premise being that there is good with the bad😁 Yes, yes, yes to the fermenting feed! We ferment our pig feed and I have cut our feed bill from 11, 100lb bags per pig per 6 months down to 9, 100lb bags per pig. So we are saving our customers quite a bit of money, as we charge them for the feed. I was able to refund all the customers $75!!! they were so excited. & the pigs grew great, very steady growth with a good marbled meat with very little fat. I think I only lived in a 'finished' home for the first 4 little years of my life & then a 1 year stint in a trailer. so for 40 years I have lived in a dilapidated home, amidst construction 'zones' (Same home for all those years - I'm right back where I began, but with a hubby & kids). You learn to just flow with it & be grateful for the progress made. I have to be my hubby's cheerleader. He gets so down about the slow progress, but he didn't grow up here & can't see the progress the way I can. I love my HOME. My grandfather was born in this home, relatives died in this home, my siblings & kids were brought home from the hospital to this home, etc...who cares if the siding is falling off😆 All of my ancestors, going back to 1851 worked on this home & farm. My father's hands, my husband's hands repair everything. Every where I look in my home, I can see how my husband has been the architect of my life - literally building up out of nothing. Keeping it all together. I can never get tired of cheering him on & feeling such gratitude when I look at the finished areas of our home. (Our house was literally ready to cave in - literally. and my hubby resurrected it from its eventual demise) Feeling grateful is a good anxiety killer!

Lovely video! I've lived in a construction zone for many years also. It's just something you have to choose to embrace, isn't it? Like so many things that we can't control. A note on gluten free breading - I use whatever things we have on hand- arrowroot, tapioca flour, almond flour, etc.

I was just over at Homesteading with the Zimmermans (Ruth-Ann) and she was sharing that many of her viewers were looking to see a collab/interview of her regarding her leaving the Mennonite culture and becoming non-denominational believers. You two are by far my favorite vloggers and hold many of the same beliefs systems and ways of life. I would LOVE to see you two collab! I hope you’ll connect….I shared on her latest video as well about your channel! Check her out ❤

Hi Shayla! I believe you had mentioned in one of your homeschool videos that you would share more on how you got people to stop quizzing your kids. Have you already talked more about that somewhere?

Hello! I have not yet, my homeschool videos haven't been being seen as much so I've slowed down on them, but I made a note to address this!

What do you use for bedding when it comes to chicks? We have SO much dust in our home from chicks!
