*Our Rajasthani songs are definitely not as popular as Punjabi or Haryanvi songs and I feel they are very underrated. They haven't got that kind of mainstream reach and audience. No proper marketing and promotion too. Our songs are deeply rooted in the culture and traditions with various instruments and vocals.* *Many feel we haven't evolved well for the modern audience's taste by sticking to just folk and classical music whereas Punjabis and Haryanvis have adopted modern and contemporary style, but our ustaads and musicians say by doing that we actually destroy our originality and craft. Honestly I feel it does limit our audience* *People want a fine balance between change and preserving craft and culture. And considering the history of Rajasthan we still don't see 🔫 culture being promoted heavily or the naughty bhabhi devar ones. I mean at the end of the day music is totally a personal choice with every culture having its own identity and aesthetic. Let's just keep an open mind and appreciate the diversity of this country 🇮🇳🙏☺️*
Rajasthani songs are beautiful. And as you rightly said, Rajasthani songs are deeply rooted in culture and traditions. There's a difference between folk songs and pop songs. Pop music is synthetic and is made palatable for the masses, and in the case of these pop songs that have gained popularity, they most often lack taste. Music can have rustic flavour. But, they don't necessarily have to be sleazy. People's taste in music and films has also degraded a lot over the years. I still remember performing on Ghoomar (the original) in Class 3, in 2002. I was absolutely mesmerized by the beautiful music and costumes that we had to wear for the performance.

As a Punjabi Hindu I'm fascinated by Haryanvi music. I understand some of it because of some similarity to Punjabi, but also there's a lot that I don't understand because their language does have a different accent, words, etc. It's no surprise that there''s so much similarity considering Haryana was carved out of Punjab in the 1960s and Himachal Pradesh in the 1970s. While gun culture has become common place for us in Punjab, I was surprised to see the same in Haryana. Along with gang culture, etc. These are all things we should try to get rid of us because it has not been part of our culture in the past and I believe it does more harm. We have always been a group that stands up and fights- Whether that be Maharaja Puru (Porus), Mahabharata, etc. but we're not thugs and I think that's the distinction that should be made and this glorified gang culture has to go.

I feel the reason is Haryanvi song is the perfect combination of Punjabi and Bhojpuri. 1. It has the lively beat of Bhojpuri songs minus the Vulgar lyrics. 2. Haryanvi has the same energy as Punjabi and Lyrics are easier to understand too. 3. It neither has the overly sexual/misogynistic handling of women. *Edit:* Haryanvi too has many misogynistic songs, it's just the most famous/viral ones like: 52 gaj, Balam Thaanedar, Gajban aren't ; ) Sorry, My bad! And nor the over the top fascination of money (flashy cars, bullets, gold, plot) As Haryana/West UP (Haryanvi) falls between Punjab (Punjabi) and East UP/Bihar (Bhojpuri) it gets the love from both.

Well here's the thing, I don't listen to Hindi and English songs very much because the novelty wears off quickly. Like even if it is a good song I get bored after listening to it the third time because it gets registered in my mind. I usually listen to Japanese songs because (experimentation and variety aside) since I don't understand the language it takes listening to it a lot many times for the novelty to wear off. Can you suggest an Indian language, the songs in which will give me this? If they have songs that aren't only about love, ladki, party and sex, it would be a plus.
ya as one gentelman above suggested first condition it leaves it's sexist approach then only it should become popular otherwise it will be another bhojpuri industry and black spot on nation i am assuming you know about bhojpuri industry

*Many feel we haven't evolved well for the modern audience's taste by sticking to just folk and classical music whereas Punjabis and Haryanvis have adopted modern and contemporary style, but our ustaads and musicians say by doing that we actually destroy our originality and craft. Honestly I feel it does limit our audience*
*People want a fine balance between change and preserving craft and culture.
Haryanvi copy punjabi songs or copy zyada time nahi chalti , Rajasthani bhe popular ho jayegay bro ,love from punjabi
Kalyo kood padyo and ghoomar (seema mishra version) is also popular at international level.

Being a Haryanvi and Grand son of folk singer and poet of Haryana. I know there were curve towards Haryanvi folk Ragni. People were used to listen Ragni and go to listen a whole lot away from their homes. But then Sapna introduced herself and slowly and steadily curve got curved towards stage dance and haryanvi ragni went to extinct along side quality of songs and lyrics were also improving. Hence the result is here.
I am from juhunjhunu rajasthan and believe haryanvi song dominating music industry and took place in everyone's playlists and on dj

Liked ur content and I accept and admire many facts you gathered for this video. I would have loved it more if you have added songs like "indian army" to this video
*Edit:*
Haryanvi too has many misogynistic songs, it's just the most famous/viral ones like: 52 gaj, Balam Thaanedar, Gajban aren't ; ) Sorry, My bad!
And nor the over the top fascination of money (flashy cars, bullets, gold, plot)
As Haryana/West UP (Haryanvi) falls between Punjab (Punjabi) and East UP/Bihar (Bhojpuri) it gets the love from both.
Agreed
I also feel observational comments which add some perspective and value to the video don't get likes on UA-cam. ; )
@@anuragchowdhury4101 indian youtube*. indian audience in general aren't smart enough to care about such comments.

4. Haryana is located in upper region of India which is additional factor for popularity. Because at there, the population size and the population density are way high than compared to the rest of India.

For me, the most beautiful and most melodious song seems to be an Assamese song because Assamese songs have the most meaning and mention about rivers.
