    Hi Lauren, I know this comment is a little bit on the late side, considering you posted this video three years ago! But I have decided to get back into scrapbooking. I started doing it about 25 years ago! I guess we started at the same time ha ha ha! I have always loved watching your scrapbook organization and many many of your videos. But I haven’t been scrapbooking because I got in just so many other different crafts, including card, making. now that I have almost everything a paper crafter could use, I’m trying to get all of my scrapbook paper in order! I love this video, it’s kind of how I’ve been doing my scrapbook paper all along, but it did take me quite some time to figure out what was the best way to do it! So, thank you so much for reminding me! And I love those 12 x 12 check out store record sleeves! I think they are wonderful! (I’d love to get the other ones that you mentioned, but that’s really not in my budget. Because I would want one for every color and all my patterns, paper and collections!) I do have a question for you?? Where can I buy colored cardstock in bulk that doesn’t break the bank?? I can’t believe how expensive paper has gotten!! If you could, please let me know I would appreciate it! Thanks again for all of your great videos, I am definitely going to start watching you all the time now. Oh I do have one more question. Are you a creative memories consultant? Because I have all of those things that you showed in your drawer for cutting out different shapes with your paper. I need the little blades that are red blue and green. Do they still carry them? Thanks again, Liz.😊🩷

    I had done a little of this style of organization. However, I had not broken apart all those theme packs - and I have some from way way back! Today’s project is to break those apart and put n my color folders. Seems like I just needed permission to do that! Ha ha! Thanks again for sharing.

    I, too, have adapted your style of paper organization and will have to add in the many project life journaling cards I have to that right front pocket. I also have one additional tip that I’ve added to my project folders. That is to move all my cut apart paper to the back of the large gusset. When I can’t find a journal card or am looking for a word or phrase to match a particular color all I have to do is pull out those back few pieces of paper.

    After watching your last two videos on paper organization, I completely overhauled my paper stash in the same fashion. I love it! I am in awe, your organization techniques leave me speechless!! I have never found a way that suited me almost perfectly to organize papers until now! I’ve watched this a few times and even though my scrapbooking style is very different from yours, everything you’ve shown in this video and many others can all be used to help me create in a chronological but yet artistic way. I can not describe how your organization tips have sparked how I want to redo my crafting area. I do not have a space as large as yours, even though I truly need it! I am sold on the creative memories power pockets and need to start placing orders, I need a lot of them... my stash is overwhelming I’ve done purging already a couple times so that’s not the issue, I need to tear my pads apart and sort them as you have done. You are my #1 favorite scrap room organizer. My collections of products are from over 25+ years also. You have inspired me and I wish I was your neighbor!!! LOL
    I am going to be using many of your tricks, tips and techniques! This is a huge compliment to you as I’ve searched the internet for a number of years for the perfect style to imitate. I will also be doing the POP series in the very near future. I’m very excited! Thank you for all you do and how unbelievably talented you are and that you want to share with all of us... you’re the best! xoxo 😊👍💖

    I organize my papers the same but my solids are stored in paper holders. They are really heavy to pull out. I think I’ll try using the CM sleeves. Looks easier to grab and bring to my desk. My other stickers and embellishments are organized by season and theme in my Scrap Rack. I learned this in 2005 when I bought my Scrap Rack. Tiffany teaches this method. TFS! I love your handwriting!

    I changed my paper organization to this method last year and so far so good. I leave my collections or "workshops" together until I scrapped about as much as I can as a full kit, then I break it down and sort it. I find that I am using more of my paper collection and in completely new ways. Oh and thank you for your vid on the plastic sleeves. I ordered 200 from Amazon along with the tags and spent the day just doing a general tidy on my room. It looks much better now.

    I really enjoyed this video. I would have loved to actually watch your process too - We always love seeing other people's paper. I had already decided the last time you showed those power folders that I was going to purchase some. I have to wait until I go to the States this summer, but honestly can't wait to get my hands on them and get my paper better organized. I have a lot less paper so will be doing this on a much smaller scale, but I think the principles apply no matter how much paper you have. One thing I'm eager to have is my patterned branding strips organized by color with my paper. Those power folders will be perfect for this. Thank you so much for sharing these ideas. I've been really sick lately so I haven't been able to actually scrapbook, but the videos help in the meantime.

    So I have a question regarding breaking down CM collections. Do you break them up right when you get them? I want to try this, but it’s kinda scary. If you have a summer collection, do you only keep the paper that actually has summer stuff on it and take out the papers that may have flowers, stripes and dots?? That’s where I’m not sure about breaking the collections apart. Love how neat all your paper looks- and it’s all together!! So lovely

    Great and simple way to store it all easy to see what you want and take to crops too. I split my blue pile to aqua and blues, same as my green pile to olive and green. I also bought a colour wheel to help. Ploughing through the POP videos. Was refreshing to see so many of the papers I have and someone with as many. I have mine split into three different organization systems. Original size papers & card stock in a old CM carry hanging file, CM original 12x12 papers in a scrap-rack, card stock in a plastic carry cases and folders, the true 12x12 in old consultant boxes, a system still to be to be optimized, and new CM card stock in a CM rolling cart. Looking forward to my new room being finished, currently getting painted, and the chance to split packs as you have done.

    I have old old old CM paper "scraps" that are triangles and rectangles (late 90's, early 2000s maybe). Where would you suggest storing those? I don't consider them scraps. They aren't journal boxes or sized to mount photos nor are they border strips.

After watching your paper organization video, I wondered what you do with all the smaller scraps of paper that don't fit into either the border size or mat size category. I know you use the top pocket for 'scraps' but as I'm reorganizing, I'm finding that I have many, many smaller pieces that create too much bulk in the folder. Do you separate these out and store elsewhere? Thanks in advance!

    Not sure if this is the best place to post, so will put here in the POP Facebook. I am working on organizing my paper the way you have done, as I scrapbook in a very similar way and I use CM. I am struggling with identifying colours. Even using a colour wheel is only helping a little. The best example is the Rugged Power Palette. I think maybe they are mixtures, shades, or tones, but that doesn't help me much, as some are really difficult. Don't know whether to put in brown, green or yellow. Do you think it is worth it to do categories like yellow-green, blue green, etc.? That said, in this case there are some I still wouldn't be sure where to put. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

    How do you differentiate between the differing weights of paper? Some paper just is too stiff to use in my printer. I have a Cricut Maker and the print then cut feature eliminates the need for dies. The Cricut handles any weight but my printer sure doesn’t. I’m pretty new at paper crafts. I just haven’t learned many methods of how different people work in paper crafting.

    • @kristenhuynh6272

      Andrea Johns I have the same problem too with certain paper thickness won’t go through my printer. I use white 65lbs card stock and print in color. It works great. When I print the sentiments for the inside of the card, I print in black and trace over with a fine point marker.

    How do you deal with double sided paper that are not similar and you like both sides of the paper. One side might be blue and the other side might be red and you would potentially use both sides of the paper at some point in time. So much of my paper comes double sided so I wouldn't know which side to use to file - just curious how you tackled that challenge!

    • @CraftSomeJoy
      @CraftSomeJoy  4 роки тому +1

      Great question, and not an easy one. What I did was file one side in each color, since usually the paper comes in sets of 2’s. Then if you really want to remember, make a note that reminds you there is another sheet in the other color. I typically do not need 2 sheets of the same paper since I do color blocking, so that is what I did... hope it helps!
