  • The Wicked Edge Pro Pack II is the best knife sharpener I've ever used. I love this setup. It's extremely precise and provides a better edge than the one you get from the factory.

    Great review, I'm thinking of getting one of these. My only reservation is the clamp. I'm a knife maker and don't want to spend a ton of time or effort just clamping the knife in the vise. The 130 kit is way more expensive so I'm still thinking. Thanks for the review.

    Call Wicked Edge and talk to Kyle. I did the same exact thing and he made me a deal at way more than what I thought was a fair deal in upgrading to the WE130 Clamp alone. Straight up great quality and the customer service is best in the business. I can't thank them enough for how they treated me.

    Wicked Edge sells strop protectors. They are a plastic cover that snaps on the handles of the strops. Will solve your problems with the chance of cross contamination.

    I'd use cling wrap instead of a baggie for the strops.

    Great video man! You should do many more like this. I ended up the WE130 because of your few gripes subscribed

    I was going to suggest some non lubricated condoms to store those strops. But I guess WE already came up with covers.

    Hey, saw your video and promptly went to purchase a setup. While at the wicked edge store I noticed that they make a "SNAP-ON" cover for all of the stones and strops, that should fix your worry about cross contamination. They are reasonably priced in comparison to all their other stuff. Just a few bucks. Just an FYI. I enjoyed your video, by the way, thanks.

    Do you think the pro pack III Gen 3 is worth it. Or should I got with the two and buy the extras separately?

    • @GearNut
      @GearNut  3 роки тому +1

      I would get what you can afford. I regret not getting the pack 3 but I am very happy with the pro pack 2. I can take a brand new knife and make it perfect. However it was a huge purchase at the time I should have bought bit coin instead. I would be rich.

    • @lgen626

      @@GearNut lol. We all should have bought bit coin. Thanks for the advice though I’ll go with the pro-pack 3. It’s a lot of money but I think it’s worth it.

      I got mine from a third party seller. It did not come completely put together. I had to install parts which is ok but the screws that’s screw into the vise were too long. Holds up getting started with it

    Doesn't turning the bottom screw push against the opposite side, causing the bottom to open slightly? If it does, then screwing in the top screw will cause the sides to tilt in a little at the top, causing a full grind to be held firmly all the way down the knife face. Shouldn't budge when sharpening.

    • @GearNut
      @GearNut  5 років тому

      northerndarklight you can do that to a certain degree. I think the newest clamping mechanisms works better for full flat grind knives.
