I no, I hope the surgery went well and that you are recovering quickly. I know how painful that recovery can be. And, I can't wait to watch your videos b/c they are so wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing your tutorials.
I am in Australia and I have only now found your site. I have made some gnomes that will go into the kiln today. I love the way you chat, it is just as if we are in the studio. Love you keep on making these videos. All the best on your surgery.
Thank you for your helpful video lessons. I made a fish platter as a gift and can't wait to give it. I will post a picture once I figure out how to add it😅
Ooh, halibut and salmon. We moved out of Alaska 12 years ago, and i miss it everyday. I hope your knee replacement went well. I'm in for a hip replacement next week!❤
We have started working with clay this year for homeschooling and I am so excited to have found your channel! I am also from Alaska and we love to garden, so our styles are very similar and you are giving us lots of inspiration. Thank you for sharing so many tips and tricks. Sending lots of well wishes for your upcoming surgery.
Love your plates 😊 I’m extremely new to pottery but loving watching and learning so thank you for sharing your skills 😊 I hope your recovery is going well too 🥰
They say I'm doing great, but it's not fast enough for me, lol. Welcome to pottery! You'll love it. Soon you'll be as crazy as they rest of us and just as happy with the journey.
Your salmon plate could also be made by placing clay slab on thick foam. Then place wooden mold upright on top of slab & press down quickly. Easier to center mold onto clay slab w/this technique.
Thanks for the video. ❤ what is the clay you use and how do u glaze the plates afterwards? A bloody beginner here! 😅 have bought soft clay but it cracks during drying time. 😢
For this, I used Bmix and then dipped half in shadow blue the other in oribe from Clayscapes. Congratulations for beginning pottery. It's the best life, and yes, there is so much to learn, always. Slow down your drying by covering it with plastic. Usually, when things crack, it's because they dried too fast. Good luck on your mud journey and if you have any questions. Ask away.
what is your firing schedule for the fish? i watched Vaughn Smith’s video, but the kiln display had a glare on it, so i could not see the slow schedule he uses
Oh my goodness, this is a brutal surgery! The recent replacement has been successful, but the one I had done in March was not and they're doing a reconstruction at the end of the month. I hope yours was successful. We need to be in the pottery. No time to deal with knees.
@@hobblecreekpottery thxs,, I use birch too but I couldnt tell. My ceramics instructor has a different material on hers and its so easy to clean, not canvass so theres no clay dust. But she doesnt know what it is..lol
Hi there! I have a question that I hope you have a solution to. I have really nice gray clay that I've been harvesting in my back yard. If it turns out to be earthenware, is there a way I can seal my dishes on the bottom after they are fired? Earthenware absorbs water through the small bit that doesn't have glaze on the bottom of the dish. I'd like to seal that part so it's water proof and I can eat off of it. Do you have a solution for this? Thank you, and lovely Halibut dishes :)
If it were me, I'd glaze the entire piece and fire it on stilts. As with all new clay, test, test, test. I'd love to hear about you're results. I've played a bit myself with wild clay. Good luck.
I have also made some fish plates, but they are not Halibut. I was already making fish plates and I feel that A is too large B they are too flat and C the glaze was too busy. I will concentrate more on style plus glaze. I make my own glazes and will look at some other glazes that I have. LOOOOOOOVE fish any fish. I am also going to explore more shapes for plates that will hold dip or any other food.
покажите, пожалуйста, трафарет рыбы перед камерой, чтобы можно было срисовать его please show the fish stencil in front of the camera so that you can draw it
We all appreciate you too!! Thanks for inspiring me and hundreds of others!! ❤🇨🇦

I love your plates😍
When you cut up the foam put them in a vacuum seal bag it keeps them fresh and dust free
Great idea
Hi. Your fish plates look great. You make it look so easy 🙂
They are super easy and fun to make and use. Thanks for watching.

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying them.
Thank you for these great videos. Do you have a lesson on making the basket with the very tall loops that is on the table in this one?
Love the tee shirt.
Just found you - how fun👍 subscribed! 👍
Hey. I love your art! Thanks for sharing!🌹🌹
Great video. Fish is always my choice when I eat out. Loving the simple combo of glazes too. Hope your op goes well ❤️
Homer is beautiful!! Went to AK in sept 2021... cant wait to go back
Me either! I'm hoping to go this summer. 🤞
How do you manage to make it flat…my things wobble. And thank you for a magical video🥳
I do dry them with my hubby's socks that I "borrowed" and filled with kitty litter. 😉

Olá. Meu nome é Marli. Sou de São Paulo. Brasil. Adoro assistir seus vídeos aulas. Estou aprendendo muito. Obrigada e felicidades. Bjs
When you glaze fire how do you prevent the tail from dropping onto shelf
Hi Tiffany, thank you for your video. Could you please tell me where you had your stamp made thank you.
Justinmakery.com made that one for me. I have a wooden one that Sharon Hoppe made too.
Your plates are beautiful! What is the thickness of your clay?
3/8 of an inch. Thank you.
❤these are beautiful!
Where did you have your pottery logo stamp made? Thank you!
Sharon Hoppe Designs made it for me.
Thank you!@@hobblecreekpottery

I fired these to a cone 6 with a 13 minute hold. I used Clayscapes Shadow Blue and Tim's Dark Celadon. Clayscapes Glazes perform best at a cone 6.
What size forms are you using?
I'm not sure, but the two smallest of the oval GR Pottery Forms. I hope that helps.
Can I get a copy of your halibut template. Where do I find a design for it please
@manoneburne6581 I found it on line. I just searched for vector images. There are a lot out there that you can download for free.
Was your operation successful? I have been through the same op and can understand what you are doing for getting back to where you were>

Hi Tiffany, so enjoying your videos! Who was the carver you referred to? Monique and ? Keep up your creativity!
Yes, you can find her channel here: youtube.com/@nukuaceramicsbonaire?si=851GPkpXQdBJ_6zC
Love the fish plates!!! I wish I could send you a $ thanks in support of your time sharing!!! Hello, UA-cam 🥰
Ahh, thank you.
What is the surface of your worktable?
It's birch plywood. It's been 3 years, and it's holding up well.

Justin Makery made my stamp. He also has a UA-cam channel. Thanks for watching.

Hi, me again. Do you bisque the plates before glazing them?
Yes, they are bisque fired and then glazed.
Thanks a lot. ;)
Sea sick?? C-bands. They are sold at any drugstore, they are AMAZING. I went for a Cruz and C-bands saved me.
Unfortunately, they don't work for me. The only thing that has is the patch. It's like losing a handicap. :)
