Rear bars are functional, super helpful, but DAMN they just complete every car they go on don’t they!! It looks so good Patrick! Been waiting for this one 🙌🙌
Great job guys, though I would've put the grease seal and lower bearing in the housing first because if you look carefully the grease seals are now not sitting in properly there cockeyed !! Easy fix though. Seeya Rob.....................I've been a mechanic all my life and I'm 65yrs old.
Mate , the seals for the swing arm bearings are meant to be pressed into the bottom of the swing arm capturing the tapered roller bearing in the arm before you install them. Yours are just floating under the arms and will allow water and dirt to get in there.
In all seriousness get a 6 pin Deutsch plug and then have two tails of trailer wire coming out of one side. Same with the bar use Deutsch plugs so the bar is quick connect and waterproof electrically. Solder and tape/heatshrink is good but you've got to cut it if things need replacing.
Another superb episode and a topic of real interest to me. Well done boys. PS. Modding a 4WD is never complete. There are things that always needs to be change, improved, or upgraded, as new things always come up in the market. 😁
I was so happy when I got the cruiser company rear bar for my 105 it definitely completes the look but it also opens up so much possibly for lighting, 12v and touring functionality. Looks mint mate
Needs rear mud flaps. I use Kaymar rear bars on the 4WD's I have owned and if you have no rear mud flaps the rear bar gets mud into all the hard to get to places for cleaning. Also, when on rock/ stoney tracks they kick up and make short work of the paint on the rear bar.
Do yourself a favour and install a reversing camera on the righthand side of the left arm, as close to the centre of the car as possible. Supermarket car parks can be a bit of an adventure otherwise. If you do much towing, get a second camera pointing at the tow ball, with a change over switch. You'll thank me afterwards.
Another great vid 👍 Would reccomend some type of grip on the top part of the bar. One day you'll be in the mud and hop up to grab the trax, slip and destroy your shin(s). I've still got the shin dent 15yrs later.
I love you Aussies, you get excited over a rear bumper like I don't get me wrong I like my front bumper too, sweet ride. I have a 93 Toyota 4 Runner on 35's and the 5.29 gears but my ride has no binby bouncer's up front.
I think you will find also that the bearings on the rear bar swing arms are the exactly the same as you front wheel bearings so in emergencies can be swapped
Congrats Patrick! The 80 is looking mint and mean. Ready for a good trip away. Me personally, I hope to get stuck out there and never have to come home. Cheers mate 👍
The rear bar looks awesome. The cruiser is coming along amazingly. Definitely be able to get off grid for a fair amount of time with all the upgrades. Bet you can’t wait to do a really big trip.
Nice work, looks a treat! Dunno if you’ve seen it or not but Tim bates put in a siphon system for his water jerrycan. Did one myself and it works really well. If your interested look him up or give me a yell, cost bugger all.
I Love Your Videos and you inspired me to make 4wd content i will be posting my first video this weekend. And i think you need a snorkel, but the rear bar came up nicely.
Have to update my bar so bad, those MHM style bars are sick, i need quarter protection bad, you're going to love that bar man, even my cheapo one can slam into stuff
Mate, good video thanks! I have 80 VX and a question. So on the back boot lower flap I see you replaced the original carpet with black plastic cover. You made yourself or bought the add on? Cheers!
Just be careful with your GVM all that steel adds up I’ve got a GU with a 3t GVM, just a roof rack, winch & cradle, 35” tyres and alloy bar it’s up around 2850kg. Great content as always guys those rigs are looking great 👍🏻
Awesome stuff and looks awesome .btw what number plate light did you use ? and btw the number plate bolts careful they dont rub into the Jerry can and water container could be a problem down the track 😃 ... but big thumbs up
the cruiser has had some nice upgrades lately, bumper is sweet. just needs 2 emu wings for convenience to access the rear Paddy. Liam, gotta ask mate wen does the patrol ute get some luvin as well. even Dan waved the magic wand over the patrol wagon. the thing is u 3 lads have show cased other companies/manufactories than the standard same ol. i say well done lads n keep up the gud work.
Emu wings will probably be the next "exciting thing" for the 80. Though The Cruiser Company also sell "Lift Up" windows for the 80. But IMO, they are not as well though-out as the Emu Wings. The CC Lift Up window while having a bigger opening, require some body drilling to fit, unlike the Emu Wings where it does not require any. The CC Wing, also uses a very DIY looking piano hinge, but I do like their flush fitting locks over the Emu Wings.
Wow. So far 2 things. When manufacturing such expensive part, I don't understand why they don't make it so we don't have to cut into flares?? I am pretty sure it is possible. 2nd thing, when reading bearings, it's better to do it that you hold bearing other way around, wide side towards your palm with grease. Just try it and tou will see how much easier it is.
You could I guess but what's the point, with a tyre carrier and Jerry carrier the back of the car is already slow enough to get into, I took my Jerry holder off because it was so annoying
Hope you don’t mind me replying, I have the exact rear bar on my 105 and it added 51 kilos with 1 arm and spare tyre and the old spare mechanism removed.
In Saudi Arabia, we take advantage of the spare tire place below and install a 50-liter water tank made of stainless steel
Rear bars are functional, super helpful, but DAMN they just complete every car they go on don’t they!! It looks so good Patrick! Been waiting for this one 🙌🙌
That Haircut transition too Patty.... lockdown FREEDOM.
You know it's a real 4wd when there's dirt falling out while working on it
Is your 4wd finally complete? yeah nah it goes on and on. By the way the rear bar looks the goods and compliments the 80 nicely.
Hahaha. My thoughts exactly. 🤣

Yeah spot to put the bin bag !!!! Best mod🙌🏽🙌🏽 and another awesome video!
I got the same 80 to a tea mate. looks like a nice bar. Cheers for the content
This 80 is actually becoming such a rig. Looks awesome mate!

Yeah agreed, Pat put a little message up at 8:08 saying he's gonna get em
Agree and for legal reasons needs a rear flap to be roadworthy illegal to flick water/mud up to cars behind you

Love a land cruiser especially an 80 series 🥰❤ such a good episode
I have a Cruiser Company rear bar and tyre carrier on my 105 and I love it. Glad to see you like yours too 👍👍

Also should add a sheet or aluminium hinged to the back of the jerry holder for added fold down space
Next upgrade will be a snorkel for sure….
Looking good buddy 👍🏽
Awsome video mate keep the content coming 👍🏻
Thanks Phillip!!
I think you will find also that the bearings on the rear bar swing arms are the exactly the same as you front wheel bearings so in emergencies can be swapped
That's handy to know cheers

Congrats Patrick! The 80 is looking mint and mean. Ready for a good trip away. Me personally, I hope to get stuck out there and never have to come home. Cheers mate 👍
Nice bar! Put some locktite on those two swingarm stopper bolts so the corrugations don't lose them
Complete? No way, there will always be changes and mods to do. All your mods are excellent choices. Keep up the good work.
mint man cant wait to put mine on
This 80 is starting to become a dream build 😂
The rear bar looks awesome. The cruiser is coming along amazingly. Definitely be able to get off grid for a fair amount of time with all the upgrades. Bet you can’t wait to do a really big trip.
Looks mint now mate, great job brother
Cool
No other words
Just cool lol
Also after school I need to start working on my car
Nice work, looks a treat! Dunno if you’ve seen it or not but Tim bates put in a siphon system for his water jerrycan. Did one myself and it works really well. If your interested look him up or give me a yell, cost bugger all.
Looks fully sic mate. Great job guys.
That is a gorgeous rear bar!
Do the bolts for number plate intrude on your plastic jerry cans when doing the tracks?
Looks mint, also handy to able to carry a second spare if u need
I Love Your Videos and you inspired me to make 4wd content i will be posting my first video this weekend. And i think you need a snorkel, but the rear bar came up nicely.
You boys did a good job of that bar 🤩🤩
Have to update my bar so bad, those MHM style bars are sick, i need quarter protection bad, you're going to love that bar man, even my cheapo one can slam into stuff
Love the look of the bar! Been thinking of calling them up and asking if they can make a custom for my FJ.
If you were to keep the spare tyre underneath, could you still access it with this rear bar on?
Excellent stuff, I definitely want one of those for my 80M8T
Mod the number plate ARVOS. Get rid of that old vic plate!😉
Awesome content building mine slowly but will get there 😊
When do we get to see James new camper trailer ?
Do you know with this bar if you can still fit the OEM rear mud-flaps back on?
Sweet buddy 😀
80 look mint mate love it
U guys are the BESTTTTT
Looks awesome mate might put one on my patrol
Put a emu wing on the driver side far back window?
How did you guys go about fitting the bearing caps? I’ve been struggling with mine
Brother can you add a link in the description, on where we can buy this rear bar.
Are the rear wheel arches still well attached to the body? Because you cut off the bottom mounting points...
Looking good 😊
Love the early upload 👌🏼🤘
Mate, good video thanks! I have 80 VX and a question. So on the back boot lower flap I see you replaced the original carpet with black plastic cover. You made yourself or bought the add on? Cheers!
Any recommendations on mud flaps?
that bar makes the 80 look so much better, are you planning on getting a snorkel?
So your bin bag , is that for bouncing binbies off the rear tire?
I see your 80 is missing a Bash plate to cover the steering damper, surely a bit of 3MM steel and rattle can red.
me to i love the mod
Have you smashed the tailpipe yet?
Just be careful with your GVM all that steel adds up I’ve got a GU with a 3t GVM, just a roof rack, winch & cradle, 35” tyres and alloy bar it’s up around 2850kg.
Great content as always guys those rigs are looking great 👍🏻

good job
Thought you would have cleaned up the chassis and fresh paint before installing the the bar.
Hey pat how’s the wiring side of it is it easy with the Indicators and the reverse lights ?
Awesome stuff and looks awesome .btw what number plate light did you use ? and btw the number plate bolts careful they dont rub into the Jerry can and water container could be a problem down the track 😃 ... but big thumbs up

How much does it weigh? Have you checked your gvm? Whats the big rig weighing in at? Great channel boys
Epic vid, looks phat😮💨🤟🤟
Thanks Matt!

Patrick. How are the dual colour work lights holding?
Say rear bar once again!

Love 80 series, yeah naa, 4wds never seen to be completed, my list still going 😂

If you haven't upgraded the brakes yet - you might want to with all this added weight.
Hi mate does this fit 105?
How are the jerry cans fastened?
Awesome vid, and when are we going to see James gq
What type of rear bumper bar is that
Time to get a snorkel and head to the tip I reckon.
if we don’t see a staino snork soon
Can you paddlock the latches for added security into the back
You could I guess but what's the point, with a tyre carrier and Jerry carrier the back of the car is already slow enough to get into, I took my Jerry holder off because it was so annoying
Snorkel next? The old 80 needs one.
Great work mate the back bar looks awesome
Gak ada 2 nya.vx 80 emang tajir
What the name of the rear bumper bar
From memory I still don’t think you have a snorkel do you lol
Couldn't wait to get rid of the swing away spare in my 80.
Sooooooo inconvenient 99.9% of the time
How much
Nice, how much does it weigh? Any suspension sag from the install?
Hope you don’t mind me replying, I have the exact rear bar on my 105 and it added 51 kilos with 1 arm and spare tyre and the old spare mechanism removed.
Nice, thank you.
