- Phase 4 of the MCU actually had some great projects in it, and I liked if not loved 95% of it, but something felt off about all of this phase. I think the biggest problem was that there were no extreme consequences following the Snap, nor did we take time to really dive down into how the world should have been drastically changed because of it.
Phase 4 suffered from trying to do too much and introduce too many new heroes. We should have waited for Phase 5 to do that :(
This is just one man's opinion on Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and if you agree or disagree, I want to know. Speak your thoughts down below!

I would love to see your take on the Agent Carter series from 2015/2016. We see the gritty, grayscale world Steve Rogers left behind and the pre-SHIELD strategies of managing global security. I'm absolutely obsessed, especially with season 1, and I think it's very overlooked.
Definitely need to check it out, I love Agent Carter as a character and there's probably some hidden gems in that show worth discussing!
Love this take. I agree 100%. A great example, like you said, was with Thor. I enjoyed Love and Thunder but felt like we should have asked "Hey ummm....you okay, Thor? You wanna talk about something?" which was sort of touched upon, but then went to other things. I loved all the new additions but...idk. I wasn't ready to see and be happy for these new faces. I wanted more time with my old heroes. Getting over what just happened. Taking a breather, like you said.
You have an exceptional take on this subject and you encapsulated all the things I've felt with the saga post Endgame. Notably, I just haven't really been able to get excited in any meaningful way and you put into words why. Well done

Another dynamite analysis. I think you're right on the money here. So much of the pathos and eucatastrophe of Endgame and its lead-up was either ignored, dismissed, or played for a laugh in phase 4. It made what came before it feel ephemeral, when the whole narrative thrust of phases 1-3 was to etch these characters into the fabric of the collective consciousness indelibly. What a shame we didn't get to see the MCU you suggest in this video. Let's hope they can course correct for phase 5.

Articulate. This is a much kinder review than others have given Phase 4. I completely jumped ship on Phase 4 except for Sony’s No Way Home (I say it is Sony’s because Disney would have screwed up Spider-Man if they’d held full control).
This feels very true to me. The events of Infinity War / Endgame left their scars on the world of the MCU, and on us as viewers, and the only shows that really fully acknowledge this, that show some actual fallout, were Wandavision, and Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
I feel like we desperately needed at least one show or movie set during the Blip, just to explore and solidify it as the game-changer it was.

I haven't watched your Andor video just cause I haven't seen the series. But, I've heard so many great thungs about it that at this point I need to see it. I blame Boba Fett and Obi Wan for my hesitation of watching another Star Wars show.
Either way, great video! I've always thought MCU had a ton of potential of storytelling from those times of the snap, the reconstruction of not only society, but also of relationships with characters.

I really do agree with this analysis. I do think that one thing that should be considered though is COVID and shutdowns. I wonder if things were shifted in tone due to this. I know it affected quality in some cases for example.
Absolutely, I think the shut downs really messed with the Phase and it’s structure, + losing Chadwick really hurt the game planning for the future of the MCU. It was essentially an impossible situation to navigate and Marvel really did a great job navigating it! I just wish some of the newer characters were introduced later on instead

MCU should have ended with Infinity war to be honest. Great franchise, great series of movies, spectacular, bold and strong in its ending. An arch beginning with Ironman 1 and ending with the snap. It would have been a masterpiece of cinematographic seriality.
