The Rolling Stones are on tour right now, and they have a new album out. This particular song was played on disco dance floors in the early days of disco, because it was so much fun to dance to. Back when they were making a big deal out of rock bands making a cross-over song for disco, Monkey Man had made it years before the pack.

You'll have to check out Debbie Harry now she was the front person of Blondie. Those Billboard nominees are pretty irrelevant these days there is so many greats too many to put in order I feel, they are all great in their own right.
An angry song from a very angry album: Let It Bleed. No doubt the Stones were much annoyed at the harassment they'd been receiving from the British Establishment over the previous 18 months (1967/68). Two of the band were jailed (Mick & Keith) and their creativity did suffer. But they reacted very well with four top class albums [Beggars Banquet/Let It Bleed/Sticky Fingers/Exile On Main Street] over thenext number of years.
This is the beginning of their 5 album run as " world's greatest rock and roll" band. Mick and Keith get some crap as being sloppy and old and pass their expiration date. People forget they are great songwriters and all the riffs Keith has come up with. Mick is the greatest frontman, and Keith is just Keith, and there will never be another band or music like this or even comparable to hem, again.
Kidding right? The 5 album “best of”run starts at Beggars then Let It bleed, then Get Yer Ya Ya Out, Sticky Fingers and ends with Exile on Main Street. The rest of the ‘70s produced some decent songs but a whole lot of nothing else really. Please don’t tell me that anything from Emotional Rescue or Tattoo You makes you turn up your stereo to 11!
@@daddyboy3546I think Goats Head Soup has been re-evaluated and hailed in much higher regard. Still, it has too many mediocre moments to be in the pantheon of their greatest albums. It's Only Rock ‘n Roll is even less consistent and has too many overlong songs that meander and do nothing, as does Black and Blue. Some Girls is the outlier here, as it is a great album that mostly gets back to no-frills rock and roll. Anything after that might contain a few good songs but nothing great.
