So happy you reviewed this absolute gem of a song by the Stones! So different from their typical fare and really shows the bands range. Love Jagger’s vocals on this one and the orchestral elements. Pure magic!
Wonderful song. Jim Price is from Ft. Worth. “Sway” is another great Jagger/ Taylor collaboration from this album. Mick Taylor got very few songwriting credits and it’s a big part of the reasons why he left the band.
The Stones, had a lot of grader and texture, beyond their often know songs. They could do this live, with a small orchestra, today,...I doubt this epic has ever been played live. A Gem, for fans, to hear, when they need the emotional time.
Remember listening to this album (original Vinyl) with headphones, High as a kite. It was hypnotic, and I would feel like I was in a trance as the track ended.
My bigger picture view is that the Beatles were the greatest rock n roll band from around 1964 to 1968. But from 1969 to 1972, the Stones were at their absolute peak and deserved the title of the greatest rock n roll band in the world. I'll also give credit to the Who, Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, who created fabulous music around the same time, and in some cases sold more records. But as far as I'm concerned, no band represented what rock n roll was all about than the Rolling Stones in Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street. Sticky Fingers has always been my favorite album of all time by any band. Producer Jimmy Miller and piano player Nicky Hopkins were essential contributors during this period.
I think Keith might have had some trouble due to an unlawful substance arrest. Thank you, Shawn, for playing this classic gem from The Rolling Stones. Jagger's vocals show emotion and longing for home and loved ones.
Love this classic! Thank you for your service. Trying to remember the name of the male model who is on the album cover. "With a head full of snow" Pretty blatant, lol. Oh, Joe Dallesandro. Some guy opened the album cover and there was the same shot in whitey-tighties. And there went the value of the album. Anyway, just a great tune. Charlie's great in this.Turning it up. Here we go now! Nice indeed. Loved Nicky Hopkins piano work. Tin Man ? Great reaction. Thanks.
I was listening to some music one day and a friend stopped by.This song came on and he said" Wow this is great, who is it?" I said its the Stones and he said "No way"
Jagger and Taylor wrote this but Taylor was never given any credit, same with Sway on the same album and Winter off Goats Head Soup. One of the main reasons Taylor left the group.
The original guitar melody was Keith’s with the working title of “Japanese Thing”. He was too strung out when they recorded it so the two Micks finished it.
This was the closing song for arguably the Stones best album, and one of the best rock albums ever too.
And arguably the best song from arguably their best album. That's how great "Moonlight Mile" is.
@@davescurry69 I totally agree that this song awesome.
I still have my Sticky Fingers LP - and the zip still works!
Nicky Hopkins and Mick Taylor kill the coda on this one
It's just glorious isn't it. Having both those guys at the same time was a gift.

RIP Paul Buckmaster
one of my fav stones song
This album is peak Stones. Mick Taylor is such a Master Guitarist

Majestic, ethereal and brilliant, the Stones were at the height of their career at this point
"I am just living to be lying by your side..." That line always got me!

Live from a small gig in LA ua-cam.com/video/PArSca1cI0M/v-deo.htmlsi=y9tJbVVA3WJhn9AJ
It was played live to perfection on 2015 Zip Code tour. They played the whole album. Took my 18 yr old grandson.

You and me both buddy, you took the words right out of my mouth 😊 !
Beautiful song! Thanks for this reaction.

You left out Beggar's Banquet! I always liked it better than Let It Bleed, but that's just me.
Hey if you liked this - check out- Sway - from this album - Mick Taylor at his finest!!!!!!
They used this song in an episode of the Sopranos. It sounded great.
Great track from an outstanding album . . I still have the original LP from 1971 with the working zip.
The LP of "Sticky Fingers" had a real zipper on its cover. Good old school album design.
This whole album is magic! I love it! Check out "Bitch" from this album next✌️🎶
A lot of airplay in 71-72 in Detroit on WABX. Thanks Shawn.
One of my favorites
The variety of the Stones. No band can compete. GOAT
I think Keith might have had some trouble due to an unlawful substance arrest. Thank you, Shawn, for playing this classic gem from The Rolling Stones. Jagger's vocals show emotion and

To me it sounds like mixture of Psychedelic Rock & Soul.
beautiful song
Beautiful song and great reaction♥
Stones rule. Great reaction.
This one is very special ❤
I. consider this song 'Moonlight Mile' as Mick Jagger's and the Rolling Stones greatest recording ever.

Great reaction, great song! Have you done “Time Waits for No One?”

Check out "Dandelion".
Jagger isn't called the accountant for nothing. Love this track but they did treat Taylor pretty badly.
I love Sway from this album - check it out

The song has a Japanese feel to it if you really listen to it. It has to do with the scale used for the song.
The stones are known for being raunchy and not very nice at times but they can turn 180 and make the most beautiful song ever
Written by Jagger and Taylor - and no writing credit for Taylor

@@slickjames2541Mick Jagger says he wrote that bit, not Keith
