Thanks for reacting to this fabulous song by LZ. Believe me there is a huge following of this group and reacting to them could help you grow. That's why I stopped by, listened and joined. I enjoyed your reaction and the breakdown. Ramble On, Nobodies Fault But Mine and Bring It On Home are 3 bluesy Rock songs that has it all. Robert Plants harmonica, John Bonhams drums, John Paul Jones and Jimmy Pages guitars are all prevalent in these songs. ❤Stay safe
@@SirMickolaseverything they did is great, they loved the blues, so many songs are blues based. Led Zeppelin is the greatest band, 4 geniuses & each the GOAT of their crafts, together the GODS of MUSIC. John Bonham’s drum beat from this song is the most sampled, yet nobody has been able to get it quite the same. One of my favorite studio bluesy songs by them is, You Shook Me. An amazing live blues & an original is, live at Madison Square Gardens (1973), Since I’ve Been Loving You. Oh Led Zeppelin is the 2nd highest albums sold, with over 300 million sold. The Beatles are number one sold. Thank you for your reaction, lots more Led Zeppelin PLEASE!
As you mentioned, this song is a reworking of the original song recorded in 1929 by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy about the flood of the Mississippi Delta in 1927. It was part of the Great Migration which saw more African Americans come North for better opportunities ("go to Chicago" in the lyrics). There was a lot of production on this song. The drums were set up in the entrance hall of Headley Grange (a place in the country the band had gone to rehearse and record in) and they had mics placed around and hanging above the drum kit to help get that amazing sound while also feeding it through a Binson Echorec and compressing the final product. Jimmy Page uses a slide to help give the guitar that stretchy sound and he and bassist John Paul Jones used a modal structure to give the droning tone. Reverse echo was added to the harmonica and various effects were added to the vocals. If all this weren't enough, the vocals stayed at the same speed, however the instruments were slowed a half step in production to further assist with the sludgy, back water blues style sound. This song is a groove, it's menacing, it hits hard, almost bludgeoning you with intensity while the circular drone carves furrows in your brain. Masterpiece. For me, the greatest is The Beatles with Zeppelin coming in just a sliver of a hair's breadth away in 2nd place.
Oh YAY **Luvit** **MyBelovedOtherWorldlyLedZeppelin** I truly **HOPE** you will be doing **MORE** of them cuz i am betting IF ya have ONLY heard like a few of their top top stuff that was out there then there definitely is a bunch more that ya just truly **NEED** to **Listen** to as man they are THE most Influential & THE most Imitated band EVER!!! Thank YOU for **Helping** to KEEP **MagicalMusicalGenius** ALIVE!!! **PixieHugz&Luvz**
If you truly want to experience led zeppelin you need to start at the beginning and go in order. You can experience their growth as musicians. Keep in mind, album 1 and album 2, John Bonham and Robert Plant were 19 and 20 years old respectfully. Enjoy the rabbit hole
If you like the White Stripes and this, watch a documentary from 2008 called It Might Get Loud. It stars Jimmy Page, Jack White and The Edge from U2. In it each discusses their backgrounds, influences, styles and recording techniques and then they all get together to converse and play each other’s material and then the finale which is all 3 of them playing the Band’s The Weight on acoustic guitars.
Great reaction, really enjoyed it! Subscribed in case you do more Led Zeppelin!😊...There's another cover of this song featuring the Zeppelin bassist, John Paul Jones, done by Playing For Change, that's worth a listen, even if you just listen for yourself and not a reaction video. Gives me chills every time I listen to it. Keep up the good work!
As you likethe white Stripes i'd also recommend it might get loud as per comment below .its puts Jimmy Page the edge from U2 and jack white into a studio and they talk and jam and something magical happens. When jimmy Page demonstrates whole lotta love the other 2 turn into 16 yer old fans .... They open up far more to each other than they would to an interviewer of journalist. Before you watch it you should be familiar with When the levee breaks, stairway to heaven, Kashmir , In my time of dying and whole lotta love . As you go on You will continue to hear the influence of led Zeppelinin many subsequent rock bands .
My favorite song by my favorite band so when I say you MUST check out the bass player's version with international cast called PLAYING FOR CHANGE...well let's just say you won't believe it
I always liked this song more than Stairway! Being a drummer at the time (early 70's), I idolized John Bonham, & the simple beat is actually very difficult to play! Both songs are from that great fourth album!!!
Led Zeppelin were Jimmy Page. Guitar John Paul Jones. Bass /Keyboards/ Mandolin Robert Plant. Vocals/ Harmonica John Bonham. Drums ** This is one of those crazy examples of extraordinarily talented musicians in one band Jimmy Page is considered one of the best John Paul Jones is a multi instrumentalist, and one of the best bassist in music Robert Plants vocals speaks for themselves John Bonham is considered the best drummer in contemporary music year after year
I saw Zepp in 1977, Baton Rouge, LA. I saw many bands in my years before & after this, not all I wanted to see. I saw RUSH 6 times from late 1974 until the early 80's. I never saw any other artists/bands more than twice! That's my opinion & I'm sticking to it! LOL!
I would say The Beatles for the top spot. Then Led Zeppelin. The next level down would be The Who, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Eagles and Steely Dan.
Led Zeppelin is the greatest ❤
Robert on harmonica ❤❤❤❤

Zeppelin is the best rock band. Every note they recorded is worth hearing.
Zeppelin by far, They knocked the beatles off the throne
My advice to you is to do as many Zeppelin reactions as possible for channel growth.
Last track on their 4th album. Most bands are lucky to have a few great songs, Zeppelin had dozens of them.
It is truly a remarkable feat indeed!

Great song! Sounds like something that would have been on the Trueblood soundtrack.

Ironically recorded in a stairway! 😆
That was a very young Robert Plant just KILLING that harmonica. Bonham carried this song.... pretty sure about that. Haunting!
Led Zeppelin were
Jimmy Page. Guitar
John Paul Jones. Bass /Keyboards/ Mandolin
Robert Plant. Vocals/ Harmonica
John Bonham. Drums

Listen to the original by Memphis Minnie and Joe McCoy and you will see what Led Zeppelin does to blues song

No you didn't. The last time Zeppelin played in the US was in the summer of 1977.
@tektoniks_architects excuse me, it's been almost 50 years, it was May of 77.
Led Zeppelin are the GOATS. The. Beatles were the first pop band but their musicianship and complexity of music is nothing compared to Led Zeppelin.
