Before I owned a Steam Deck, I played through the entire The Witcher 3 and both DLCs on a Switch lite and it was the most fulfilling gaming experience of my life. And it proved for me, I am 100% a handheld gamer. FF XVI on Steam Deck looks like Witcher 3 on Switch. This will be awesome.🥳
I don’t know why people still think they can expect to play new AAA titles on steam deck at anything other than lowest settings and complain about not getting 50+fps.
Seriously. This game was made with multiple high-end expectations. The thing has so many particle effects, on call model placements, and a high fidelity... It's like being mad your 98 machine couldn't run Halo.
@@aviatedviewssound4798 That's weird, I have a 3060 playing on max settings. and was only getting lower FPS during cutscenes because they seem to be locked at 30.
I'm convinced the Steam Deck's frame counter doesn't work well with this game cause when I played it gameplay felt a lot smoother than the 23-27 or so fps it was saying I was getting. It felt nowhere near 60fps mind you but it felt way more playable than 23-27. Either way though, not how I'd recommend to play this.
That Xbox bit was pure BS because the PS5 and Xbox have similar hardware, with the Xbox Series X being slightly more powerful. They most likely said that because of their deal with Sony. It never mattered anyways I remember reading, a few month after this game launched, that SE would be willing to port it to Xbox one day. Then a few months back they began talking speaking out against exclusives and how they wanted to port the game.
The Steam Deck actually has much more RAM available than the Series S, so at least in this regard it has an advantage. Baldur's Gate 3, for example, has co-op mode on the Steam Deck but not on the Series S for this very reason.
I would have bought it day one if they managed to make it feel good on deck (locked 30 would have been ok). Sad to see that the pc port is again not that good
honestly i'm seeing GPUs from two generations ago run this game better than the PS5 did. I've been waiting on this PC port to play the DLC because of how bad the PS5's frame drops were.
Legion sit tho. With that battery life you will be not be going anywhere. Ally X on the other hand is yes a proper handheld which will run this game for 3 and a half hour which is awesome. I still prefer steam deck but that is cause Linux and steam OS. But valve announced steam OS for ally so it will be my favorite soon.
It looks like a switch port of a ps4 game. As a former switch gamer, I’m okay with this terrible performance in exchange of playing it portably. Can’t wait for SD2 tho!
I feel like it's poorly optimized, it shouldn't be this demanding on low settings at 720p. It follows the pattern of relying on FSR to make up for bad performance optimization a lot of PC ports do nowadays. It's worth pointing out this game was badly optimized on PS5 as well, while it was playable it had trouble keeping a consistent framerate when its contemporaries on the console have no trouble doing so.
@@lll_Number_One Tekken 8 isn't a great PC port either. Devs are just lazy with optimizing performance now because they want us to use FSR, it's shit.

Right lol
Facts man

Agreed steam deck is for old games and indie games only now I wish people would stop trying them these new games are not running
Expect to? That’s quite the conclusion jump, checking if they can is more accurate. Plus this game has a lot of technical issues on desktop as is
the game uses ray tracing shadows by default even in low preset just like on ps5
Will wait a couple years for when we get Steam Deck 2. I'll grab it then.
It's performing bad on PC too, unless you get a 4090 to play at 60 FPS on medium settings lol.
@@aviatedviewssound4798 That's weird, I have a 3060 playing on max settings. and was only getting lower FPS during cutscenes because they seem to be locked at 30.
@@aviatedviewssound4798 that is not a universal truth....I have a 6800XT and had a great experience with the demo and had it on the higest settings

In game frame limit to 30 works a little better
From my own testing I don't see this working on deck unfortunately... Works great on my pc though.
Anyone know how to download scarface remarsted has a video tutorial
I hope they at least fix the game speed after the action cutscene boss, I can play at 20 frames
Not only would the frames dip, but the gameplay would slow down in battle 🤦.
Sounds like even good rigs have choppy gameplay. Weird slow-motion looking stuff.
Honestly this is crazy it runs at all considering this is supposed to be a ps5 showcase and sqaure enix was trying to say it wouldn't run on xbox.

@@MoonSarito And that is the problem for Xbox. The Series S, while a great affordable option, ruined the Series X ability to reach certain accolades.
@@Reddeth6332They couldn’t be lying. They’re also meaning the Series S because by contract with Xbox, devs have to make games for both.

Image clarity has been the bane of many games on the Deck this year.
I was really expecting it to run at least 12 fps haha glad I played it on the PS5

Needs major optimization right now, its a pass for the deck till i see improvement (solid 30 fps) 😅

I downloaded it and it was rough. The fight between Phoenix and Ifrit in the beginning was choppy and ugly.
So... is the game too demanding or is it just poorly optimized?
It’s too demanding, the Deck can’t even run Tekken 8 without it looking like shit
@@lll_Number_One It's just not optimized also the deck is using older driver which is what he's testing it on.

weird...my steam deck is running it at max settings and getting around 90FPS....
....when I stream it from my desktop lol
Poor optimised SE game as always, game runs like shit too on my 4070
4070 to over 200FPS all time, fix pc pal xd
Lol look like ps2 graphics😂😂
I won't be buying this trash it's clearly not optimized.
