Aerodynamics start to slow the acceleration pretty hard above 110 or so. Real testament to the powerplant to push that thing all the way to 175

It's also gearing.......bet the gearing is lower in the Jeep versus the car versions.
Its also AWD so because some of the power is going to the front wheels the top end isnt as strong, it beats the charger and challenger off the line but they pull away after 80 or so. RWD is the best for top end speed
Last time i checked the Trackhawk runs a 3.70 final drive, yet by 175mph it was in 6th 😂 - still had 2 more gears to go
In reality, I think the air temp was hurting the performance over 150 because of the air density effect on aerodynamics. What a machine!
From 0-100MPH that thing is stupid fast.

Im also a chevy guy. my wife and i traded in our 08 tahoe a few years ago and got a jeep srt. We love it. Once you drive something with that much power it will be hard to go bavk to anything else.
If you have an 08 Tahoe just twin turbo it & get 1000 HP to the wheels. You have an aluminum 5.3 LS v8 quit playing games. That's the most upgradable engine on the planet.

I posted on another Trackhawk video yesterday that someone in my neighborhood brought a new Jeep over a week ago, and I didn't realize until a week later when I saw those yellow brake calipers from a distance that it was a damn Trackhawk. That's how subdued this vehicle looks.

Surprised that is all they got out of the 0-60. Myself and my buddy both have one and we both have hit 3.2 and several times 3.3 - Have the pics for proof. This thing is a beast!

"Rival a Lamborghini and smoke a Vette." I like Jeep SRTs and Trackhawks, too, but it's not about to "smoke a Vette" unless you're referring to the 1990s Corvettes or older. A '13 Z06 does 0-60 in 3.6, and that's stock at 505hp.
perfektg its will smoke a brand new base vette with 465hp and beat a Gallardo and most likely tie a huracan in the quarter mile.Thats all I ment.

This thing is very nice and is impressive 0-100; however,
it's heavy as a tank and slows considerably at higher speeds, very similar to a Tesla 3 performance. Good tune and pulley will wake up the highway performance.

My mom's dream car is a Trackhawk, and guess what her current vehicle is? A 2013 Trailhawk with a 5.7 Hemi. That thing is already insane enough. Jeep only made 2000 Grand Cherokees with Trailhawk options in 2013.

For having a 140HP increase over the BMW X5M (567 to 707) I would have thought it would have been faster but the two trucks are pretty much even with whoever gets the jump but the X5M seems to be the one that would start to walk the Trackhawk at higher speeds. Would love to see some highway street comparisons. Trackhawk 1/4 times from 11.6-11.9 but the best trap speed has been only 115mph and in fact most of the test I have seen and people taking their cars to the track are in the 113-114mph. The X5M is running slower 1/4 times from 12.2 to 11.9 but most trap speeds are in the 115mph and a few 116mph. The BMW is under rated for sure but why is the Trackhawk seems so much slower at higher speeds then I would have thought. I know the aero is like a brick but I was thinking it would be in the 120mph area. Gearing? Is there a gear change that is happening right at about 114mph and if it had a few seconds more after the 1/4 it would be pulling past the X5M?

i have a 2008 SRT Jeep and love it to death. whats weird is i have a buddy who has a 2016 SRT JEEP and we have raced multiple times stock for stock and i beat him every time to around 110-120MPH and we both really dont know how? he has 50 more HP and TQ i know his is heavier but he has shorter gears i reach 100mph with three gears he uses 5? is it as simple as the old ones are faster than the new ones? Trackhawk excluded
