I feel the same. I understand why animal lovers are upset about that decision, but ... I dunno, I thought it was nice that she gave the dog to someone who really needed her.
I love how she started to grow and mature because she was so young when she lost her sight. It hurt her to let her Emma go. She was very kind and unselfish. Emma will always love and be loved.
😢❤ Saw this movie a while back. Great movie; warms the heart to see how love, care and kindness from family and a good man gave her the courage to take that giant leap of faith.💕 Thank you. 👍✝️😍
This is a delightful movie of a strong independent blind (since age 15) woman who through bravery takes chances in her life. Well written and acted. Enjoy her transformation story.
This was an amazing movie. I didn’t know if I was gonna like it when I first started watching it, but I am so glad I finished it. Thank you for sharing this movie.❤❤
Elizabeth Montgomery was a magical woman who always made her actions 🎬 I'm movie so real to life. I miss her very much. The movie was great celebration of the woman who couldn't see learning trust and make life better than being blind 👌
I have a friend who is blind. She became a spokesperson for the school of the blind in Austin, TX. Can’t remember if that’s the exact name. She even went to Washington DC with selected blind people from all over the nation to address congress about blindness issues. She SAID she would never have a seeing eye dog. On the plane, in the hotel rooms, in restaurants She SAID these dogs were so mistreated by their owners- every one she was around. They spoke harshly to them, it was awful on the plane, they would not take them out to relieve themselves, etc. she was appalled! Now I’m not saying all people who have seeing eye dogs - but it was 100% what she witnessed. The movie was good but the ending WAS NOT! Geesh!
MOST are treated kindly. I think your blind Friend has selective memory. To have never seen a seeing eye dog being treated kindly all of her life is obsurd.
My Father an accident and his eyes were affected, go worse and worse, there wasn't a surgery proposed than he turned away, none was succesful, the last one took the little vision he still had in one eye, having lost the other, wearing a prosthesis 😢
I didn't even know that surgery existed to restore vision after blindness. I'm guessing that any procedures that claim to do so are highly experimental. So sorry to hear about your father's experience, ana.
She gave her dog back so someone else could have her she’s a trained blind dog they are very expensive it didn’t mean she didn’t want her it’s a sacrifice
Montgemery has played more than one admirable, convincing, valuable role in movies I've only seen because of youtube. When I was young and she was famous for 'Bewitched' I never took her seriously because I assumed her political vision was empty and her social stance conservative, but the truth obviously is quite different since the roles she's picked then and since are really eye opening and progressive. I wish TV had not jaded my impression of many actresses. I also used to think that Farah Fawcett was an empty fluffy haired anorexic dumb blond, and nthing can be further from the truth, but I had to get old to realise that.
SPOILER ALERT Emma didn't need to be separated from her beloved companion. She could have remained with her for life while enjoying a little more freedom. There are many seeing eye trained dogs and the couple could have contributed financially for more to be trained, and even volunteered to help train. It's not as though keeping Emma with her was stopping someone else from having a dog. When Emma kept turning towards her after she gave her away, that was so sad to me.
Sorry you didn't enjoy it Judy. We've got lots of other movies going up tho. Hopefully, one of them will work better for you. Hope you're having a nice week so far. All out best.
I feel the same way about her giving the dog away. She could have contributed financially to the dog training center or volunteered to help train other dogs, but keeping Emma wasn't going to stop someone else from having a dog. It was heartbreaking to see Emma keep turning towards her as the man led her away.
It's a bitter sweet ending for me, but ultimately heart breaking because of that last scene. It seems the film was just as much, or more, about the love between her and the dog as it was between her and Richard. 😢💔💕
She really does give up the dog ridiculous if it would have been me, I would have kept the dog sometimes people are very ungrateful. I wonder if this was a true story. I gotta do some research.
No one ever thinks about the dog's feelings, jeez. She should have kept that dog instead of making her go somewhere else. The movie was good, but the ending wasn't.
@@arwxcv I just saw this. Dogs are not here to just serve our purposes. Some people think so. Some people think that animals are only here to be used. But I do not. I wonder if humans would like it if we were put into other families because we had certain talents that some other family needed more than our own family needs. So we are basically abandoned by our own family and given away because someone else might need us more. Just because dogs are capable of being trained to do special tasks, does not mean they should be thrown set aside when that task is no longer needed.
Thanks for the comment, Marcia. We definitely appreciate your love for animals. FYI - we've got an animal channel that you might like: www.youtube.com/@WildAmericaAnimalChannel
@@BoomerChannel_YT I appreciate movie uploads. Don't get me wrong. It's just that the movie was heartwarming the whole way through, then disappointing at the end. Just stating something simple, which really shouldn't be taken in any way offensive since I am being truthful.
I did not like the ending. It made me very sad. I dont think she should have taken Emma back. You can't explain to a dog why you are abandoning them, when they love you. There are plenty of seeing eye dogs for those who need and want them. Emma was her forever dog! 💔💔I didn't know they would take a dog back, and give it to another person. I don't think they do, they are paired forever! Bad ending!🥲😥💔
They do if an owner can no longer use them the guide dog association takes them back and retrains them for other people if the dog isn’t upto training for a new person they retire them and people can adopt them. Same as when they meet retirement age. I know this as I went to a college for the blind and many students had guide dogs.
My mom worked for the Seeing Eye and we would take the 'rejects' which were amazing dogs. It was always amusing to me how people would cross the street or be obviously freaked when they'd see me with one of the Shepherds. They didn't get that the dog would sooner do their taxes than harm them. LOL!
@marciahamill8824 😢Dogs are lovable indeed. I had 9 until a few days ago when I had to "give away" two of my five 7-week-old puppies. Yes, I feel the emptiness as do their parents, Jess and George. But it is necessary to let them go to someone who needs them more (and can provide for them much more)! Painful as it is, I will be re-homing two more puppies as soon as possible to equally well-vetted paw-parents. And no, a dog (no animal) could ever be compared to any of my three children, especially keeping in mind that JESUS CHRIST DIED TO REDEEM US, HUMAN BEINGS, NOT DOGS, CATS, RATS, BATS, HORSES OR ANY ANIMAL lovable as they might be! 💕✝️😇
This is a wonderful movie , Love is never selfish, for her to be able to give her dog ,to help somebody else’s was a wonderful act ❤️
I feel the same. I understand why animal lovers are upset about that decision, but ... I dunno, I thought it was nice that she gave the dog to someone who really needed her.
I agree!

A great movie on every level. Thank you for airing it on You Tube.
What a beautiful movie. Thank you for uploading it.

An animal is part of the family it has to be respected in the same way than other members.

Ending was too sad. 😢 The dog would not be able to understand.

Lovely movie, great acting, some universal themes
Glad you liked it, Colin.
No i couldn't got rid of that dog. I fell i love with it during the movie.

Wow, I never thought about that join team learning. Interesting

The moment the dog ran after her 😢 no one humane will do for you

Glad you liked it, Anna.

A seeing eye dog is a working animal. By staying with his now sighted former blind person is depriving the dog of his job.

I won't watch this movie on account of her getting rid of the dog.. That runs it for me.

She shouldn't make her hair like this. She resembles Jean Fonda.
I mean, it was the 80s.
Blind people,s eyes move continuesly.....the don't stare in one place like her,s
It’s a movie , she’s an actress .
