Is it any kind of way you can send this to CNN. Or to Fox this is like a third world country. Not the US they wouldn't let the Afghans or ukrainians or even the illegals live like this. But it's good enough for our little poor little boys and girls that live like this. The US should be ashamed of themselves. This is no way for anyone to grow up. Not in the richest country in the world. When we're getting billions and millions to everyone else. Please send this to someone this is so sad. 🙆🏽‍♀️😔🙏🏽

One of my friends named Jeremy got picked as well he was very smart but got sucked into this street life bcuz he was poor and didn't have a stable home. He was murdered a few years ago so horribly. My heart hurts for my friend bcuz even with so much potential some of these ppls issues run so deep especially mental health issues that it is so very hard for them to break from this lifestyle. Even myself I dropped out of college literally bcuz I couldn't focus the needed amount of attention on school I was too busy working and trying to figure out how to pay for groceries and where to lay my head during the breaks bcuz my own home wasn't stable. Born and raised in Atlanta hoods. I love my city. Definitely got into some trouble in my teen years, & have lost friends to the streets and the prison system. Just closed on a house this year and felt so incredibly proud of my family in how far we came throughout the years. My hearts go out to all of these people, especially the kids. I hope they overcome their obstacles and get out of there. This is not where you want to be

To show our people that they too can make a good life for themselves! I grew up in the hoods of Washington DC during the crack epidemic and like you, I am now doing good in life. I made bad decisions too and ended up in prison. That opened my eyes and when I came home I didn't hang with my people. I got a job and started changing my life. I still visit family in the hood and when I go, it just makes me more grateful and makes me work harder to make sure my kids never have to go through the life I did

My boyfriend is a white color state employee and we live in Midtown of Atlanta. He's told me that the city is actively trying to push these people out. That means, the city is choosing not to help them so they can leave. The reasoning is to make way for more upper middle-class, middle-class and rich neighborhoods, primarily upper-middle and upper-class people. So yes even though they do contribute to their own plight, the city is also contributing. It's all about money and appearances. Atlanta want to be known as the city of wealthy southerners and grand opportunities for black people and other non-white people (Atlanta has a lot of rich black people). These ghetto neighborhoods are an obstacle. It is sad but that's the U.S for ya.

My mom & 2 brothers are still there too. 4 of us kids left at an early age & have done well for ourselves. Everyone else is still doing the same. I don’t understand why they wanna live like this. I’ve tried to help them by getting them out of there but they won’t budge. They ask me for money all the time and I used to give it to them but now I realize if I do then I’m just encouraging their behavior. Makes me sad they’ve always wanted nice things in life but never wanted to work hard for any of it. Mom even put me out of the house when I was 15 years old because I had a job and it was messing up her welfare & food stamps. We didn’t speak for years over that.
