@Zizaran if you are struggling with the wages of the workers, you should make sure they only have one specialization, them having multiple will actually cost you more on average than a single specialization, and only use as many as you need for processing (like for example you only need 1 for each crop plot in the garden to make it work enough most of the time and you can change the crop being grown for whatever shipments you want to do)
Yes please include basic info on scaling defenses and damage. It's like my third league and I got so much value out of my guide for this league explaining how the build initially scaled with added fire damage and then crit damage once you get a source of brittle (Expl Trap). It really, really helped me out. Also understanding my defenses, because I had never played a trickster before.
Definitely add scaling offense section to every build. But also defense + give players recommended atlas mechanics to pair with the build (pretty please)

@Zizaran Just a thought and what I'm currently trying is to add a Elegant Hubris with Caspiro and use it in the middle by Eternal Youth keystone. The keystone transforms to "Supreme Ostentation" which removes attribute requirements and allows much easier gearing and you can use the new bases. Sure it costs some points but we are already by the Physical Mastery but maybe worth it? I then took the two 30 int/dex nodes to the left of the keystone to get 37% chaos res and 12% attack block chance. This allows to drop block on chest. It also allowes to use tatoos on all attribute nodes sice the give no bonuses with the keystone. Think there are some physical damage tattoos for strength nodes etc. I havent put it in PoB to see numbers but I really like to not think about attributes and the block/chaos res also makes gearing much more flexible.
You can get a warlord influenced axe and spam corroded on it until you get double dot rolls and craft the third one. You can also cut your losses on the high phys ones, people have been buying those off me, at least on softcorr
Normally I don't copy builds, especially from popular streamers, but I did this time just because of how nice this looked with a skill and archetype I never played much before. I wanted a really clean league start this time and it has worked out very well and is fun to play. Coming from an SSF player btw. Hilariously, on day 2 I dropped a ryslathas coil from an early unique map. Amazing luck for me. The build did not require this at all, but having that now is a huge boost and nice step into transferring to other builds later on. Damage still needs work, but I am only on a 5 link still, not much to complain about except regenerating expedition monstrosities I have no chance of killing, lol. Lovin this league. It's about time the meta got a nice shakeup.
There is a few ways around monster regen. Cold snap on a cast when damage taken...or there is a small cluster bottom right that says marked enemy doesnt regen.
I think someone needs to put out a video, or link it to me if it exists, that goes over easily overlooked effects of skill gems. I think a lot of people just get a general understanding of what a skill is trying to do, and then don't actually read the text explaining it's effects. For example, I didn't know for the longest time that purity of elements grants ele ailment immunity. I'm pretty sure it didn't used to, but I couldn't tell you when that was added.
Quick question. Will command of steel work to increase our damage with SST? It increases Defenses of equipped shield by 50% and if SST scales off the shield does that boost both defenses and damage?
I’m progressing slowly as I don’t have a ton of time (still just in yellow maps), but Dawnbreaker has been a really, really nice shield to go through atlas progression. I have 83% max Fire res and the shield plus Gladiator tankiness makes me feel almost immortal. With 20 quality it’s also got a rather high armor total for the damage scaling.
Switched to retaliation on my ssf gladiator, couldn't be happer. Damaged went from 300k bleed dps to 1 million even though i got decent shield for ssf, something I wont be able to upgrade for quite a while. And the weapon I have isn't even that great, will be able to upgrade that in the future no problem. Standing on bosses for 5 minutes got tiresome real quick.
as a super casual player, could i still follow the original pob as it was quite laid out, and perhaps incorporate these changes once im looking at more min/maxing the build? or might there be some key issues with the mapping and early/mid game setups in that pob?
Iron grip gave me a real nice boost having so much strength and prob have too much strength on gear admittedly and you don't need to go out of the way to get it.

Probably missing something because i'm a new player but why does this version ditch the physical mastery 40% increased Physical Damage with Skills that Cost Life. It seems like we're still converting the cost of the skills to life so I don't get why that mastery wouldn't be great?
Lacerate is very expensive currently. The defenses are super cheap to get because it comes from the tree/ascend, but good luck scaling the damage on a low budget.
Been wondering whether the double block of "More than Skill" is possible to drop for "Weapon Master" for the Ascendancy. With axes, that's an extra 30% damage for all enemies under half health.

yeah but Auromvorax doesn't contribute at all to your damage, which is the main issue with this build. I personally use the amulet and one ring to get as much res as I can.

Started with the Lacerate build, but it felt so bad. Then I switched to this, it feels better, but now I can't kill map bosses, and my workers are unemployed. Best league so far though.
why does he think the evasion shield goes higher? the reason the dual stat one goes higher is specifically because it can roll dual stat flat bonuses which go up to +640 total whereas the single stat shields only get +400 right? unless evasion gives more damage than armour which is unstated then dual is higher max note: the single stat shields are way easier to craft a very high damage version of since you for some reason can crafting bench +320 single stats but can't craft dual stats at all
Since you have brutality linked to your SST, how would the Chaotic Might enchantment be adding to your damage given that you deal no chaos damage from the gem? Thanks :)
It’s adding damage to the gladiator bleed explosions. Which are not affected by brutality. It’s just a cheap way to increase your map clear/cleaving Rares surrounded by mobs.
The text of the skill does not exclude the fact that you can put armor and evasion on the shield, and the damage will rise. It just doesn't explicitly says so.

Do you have blood magic taken on the tree to make vitality reserve life instead of mana? If you do and it's still not working, try turning off pride, then activate vitality first, and then pride second. I remember having this issue happen to me and activating the auras in this order fixed it.
You don't have 90% max block, but that's how much it works out to when calculating your 68% chance to block attack damage and the lucky block from your ascendancy. I don't know the exact math used to get that 90% result, but in the words of the great Todd Howard "it just works".
I just dont understand how he gets all the modifiers on the gear? Its like my 3d leauge and getting the "right" gear is always a pain in the ass, even if i look on the TM

Without a good way the get Ryslatha's Coil it was a rouugh to complete my atlas and boss farming (beside the awesome tank) is pretty much off the table. So when you noted that damage is a proble in the intro of the video, why didn't you give any advice on how to solve it???? Like invest more into jewels (dot multi over % increased?) ; focus on faster bleeds; get Phys-Cluster Jewels; Watchers Eye.. Its a harsh critique; but you put out a build guide and dont provide advice on how to overcome huge hurdles, even after recognizing them yourself. Overall, it seems you put less and less actually work into your videos lately. I left to fell like the quallity of the content has gone down a lot and that is somewhat of a disappointment.. Hope you find this feedback any usefull, even if its was so negative.
It's harsh but I agree completely. Three people in my discord are playing this build and are running into the same problems struggling with single target in red maps. When this video came out we were excited he'd address things, but after watching it, we're all rerolling and swearing off of Ziz league starters. it's a shame too because I've been watching Ziz for nearly a decade now... 🤷♂
Im using the original lacerate of hemorraage you linked at the start of the league and i got lacerate of hemorraage at 50, using pride and vitslity with blood magic though puts me at 1500 hp which is scary. Is this build still safe or is everyone changing it up

Go watch his Poe university stuff. His guides are about as new user friendly as they come. Your gonna just have to start building a base of knowledge slowly over time. I’ve got 2 k plus hours and I still haven’t scratched the surface of most of the game knowledge for making cool builds
if anyone is using a retaliation skill and has applied the fortify skill gem to their build, you may want to consider anointing Crushing Reply to drop the Fortify skill gem (takes 1 of each of the first three oils), its a cheap way to keep the defensive up especially early on
I get following a build guide if you don't know exactly what you're doing, but still... but to not do anything on their own, not even to look at the skills they use to know what they do is pretty crazy.
When you hit an enemy, there is a minimum damage roll and a maximum damage roll. We will use 10 for minimum and 50 for maximum as an example. Most often, your damage will be within that window of 10-50 damage. Bleeds are calculated based on a percentage of the hit you land within that damage range window, and is dealt over 4 seconds. Ryslathas Coil raises the ceiling of your max hit(50) with a multiplier between 1.3-1.4. Using our numbers conservatively, the ceiling becomes 65(50 * 1.3). This results in a stronger bleed over time since 65 is bigger than 50. Bleed is based off your strongest hit within that 4 second window, only being replaced if a stronger one is done before 4 seconds is up. It's a progressive system. The belt also lowers your lowest possible hit but because you hit fast, you'll most likely be replacing a bad hit with a better one, and then a better one etc. This then works aggravated bleeding or Crimson Dance. Not Ziz but that's my understanding :) hope that helps

For the "aura check" I started using some big mtx for the aura like the bubble effect or the legion effect

Im playing this build and honestly it just makes me want to play bleed bow idk if thats actually viable anymore
So it seems the Lacerate Glad is an overall better choice to run with? I'll also plan to play HC trade later on the league.
Check our gorathas character, he's been doing some retaliate bleed explosion stuff with lacerate or bladestorm or other bleed skills

Dropping max block mastery is not good. Unless you can give proof it doesn’t work I don’t recommend. At that block level it gives massive ehp/point.
could Victario Acuity amulet and a (5-10)% increased Damage per Power Charge on helm work for more dmg ? in case u can't get a good amulet and helm ?
does the chaotic might apply to the bleed dot?
I've been using Auromvorax as my main weapon, just for the +40% to all elem res, so I can focus on other things and not be worried about the 75% cap

Use the blood rage gem, that gives you a chance to get frenzies on kill

Are you referring to lacerate when you say bleed build? If so, yes, it's about 30ish regrets to do so

if anyone is using a retaliation skill and has applied the fortify skill gem to their build, you may want to consider anointing Crushing Reply to drop the Fortify skill gem (takes 1 of each of the first three oils), its a cheap way to keep the defensive up especially early on

When you hit an enemy, there is a minimum damage roll and a maximum damage roll. We will use 10 for minimum and 50 for maximum as an example. Most often, your damage will be within that window of 10-50 damage. Bleeds are calculated based on a percentage of the hit you land within that damage range window, and is dealt over 4 seconds. Ryslathas Coil raises the ceiling of your max hit(50) with a multiplier between 1.3-1.4. Using our numbers conservatively, the ceiling becomes 65(50 * 1.3). This results in a stronger bleed over time since 65 is bigger than 50. Bleed is based off your strongest hit within that 4 second window, only being replaced if a stronger one is done before 4 seconds is up. It's a progressive system. The belt also lowers your lowest possible hit but because you hit fast, you'll most likely be replacing a bad hit with a better one, and then a better one etc. This then works aggravated bleeding or Crimson Dance. Not Ziz but that's my understanding :) hope that helps
