Dude, I've been playing flickerstrike trickster this league, and I'm having the best time. This league is really something. Chillest game I've ever played in years.
Just one note about locus mines, the thing about positioning is that the spread is quite wide (at the distance your supposed to throw them) and if an obstacle manages to block one of the mine paths you will quickly stack up a bunch there and reserve 100% of your mana. (can be alleviated with enlighten later on). But this also makes tight maps very bad, you can often only get a single mine through a doorway unless your standing in the doorway itself since the mine angle will make 2 of the mines hit left/right of the door. It's a great build for open areas and bosses/harvest though due to the coverage of the wide mine throws, so it's a tradeof.
Went with Bleed Glad this league, honestly the complaints about Lacerate are somewhat valid, it isnt particularly great for big clear but holy goddamn is atk/spell block cap so comfy defensively that even big packs arent a huge threat while you clear em out.
Im Bleed Glad as well, currently using 2H Sunder, but I need to transition to 1H soon. Considering using 1H Sunder instead of Lacerate, any opinion on that?
Thanks for the vids this league. Your content has been really nice and chill. I league started RueToo's Slayer Frostblades and found the single target really lacking. I also have never followed a Rue build, but always heard amazing things. I did abandon the build once he started telling people on his stream not to league start it because of the mentioned single target issue. I really did enjoy levelling it, and it is a great mapper and pretty cheap to begin, but I've had WAY better league starters the last few leagues and ended up pivoting to Slayer LS and I'm now obliterating everything. Since I'm playing LS Slayer, I would also highlight that it's not that crazy to cap block if you're wearing a rare shield on these builds. I'm Suppress + 100, 90% armor, 50% evade, and will be block cap as I get to about 97. I'll be at 200k EHP then.
Frostblades slayer here too, thanks for the tip! Just reached 78 and have been trying to swap to be closer to the poe ninja gear to handle single targets.
Hey man, mind sharing your POB? I just bought ralakesh and +1 frenzy gloves but bossing still feels terrible on frost blade. Thinking to switch to LS. Does the tree differ much? Fubgun’s latest version has headhunter but I don’t have one yet..
@@cyclonustv I'm heading down the same path. I figured it was worth the risk to league start since you can pivot into LS and they share some of the initial gear. It feels great until you start to juice. Like you said it's dirt cheap, comfy and easy to pivot into a very strong build. I'd still say it's a good league starter for those reasons.
i thought the same thing but then I realized i didnt turn off auto equip. I noticed i had a shield on my character. once i noticed that the single target damage wasn't an issue for me anymore.
For the Zenith early game, you can run regular Molten Strike with Brutus' Lead Sprinkler and Rathpit Globe in offhand... the shield gives 450% increased attack damage at 6000 life through Crown of Eyes. Cluster jewels are cheaper, small jewels are cheaper. Really good starting option.
For Blood Magic with tinctures, there's one keystone at the bottom which makes it so it burns your HP instead. With good regen and HP on block shaper shield, I can get comfy up to 40 burn stacks which is a bit insane compared to mana tinctures.
I regretted choosing LS warden over slayer right up until I got a lucky valdo's MB map that funded head hunter, yoke, and a bunch of other things. Build feels great with capped spell suppress, max chaos res, ailment immunity, etc, but felt too squishy before
Power Siphon Locus Mines has been soo good. The mine throwing is a little weird but otherwise perfect. It's my first time getting a build past level 95 currently sitting at 99 and planning on hitting 100 by the end of the week around the time I have enough currency to buy a mageblood. I cannot recommend it enough.
I league started Lacerate Glad but haven't been having a very good time, I'm tanky but it takes 10 years to kill a map boss. Trying out levelling a chieftan slammer now
Its a bit weird but the tinctures actually display the impact increased effect has on the item itself. Not sure if sites like poe ninja are reflecting that behavior or not. For example I have an attack speed tincture with 44% attack speed and 19% inc effect. That 44% number reflects the quality from baubles and the 19% inc effect from the other affix on the tincture.
for the bleed glad a couple things. Aggrivate bleed on target after 4 seconds is really bad if you dont have bleed duration. 2 evicerate should be what you use for clear if you want to use a retaliate skill because it always bleeds and cant be evaded. there are also helpful things that assist in uptime. but the tree is different. 80% increase in duration is a great selection to take as a retaliate mastery.
Playing bleed Glad and hit level 97 without much effort with the worst gear you can possibly imagine, still on a 5 link. Farmed around 40 divines without upgrading anything one, because I didn't really feel the need to in the tier 16's I'm farming, and two, because I feel like I wouldn't enjoy the build any more with better gear. Lacerate's clear is terrible just as you mentioned, so I'm thinking about switching to a comfy slam build for doing harder content like T17's and some of the bosses. I worry that I will be disappointed with the survivability if I go Zerker, but CptLance but out a showcase that seemed pretty decent. I might go the mace route but have a feeling all that gear will be VERY expensive since he put out the video.
If you're worried about being tanky enough, def go Jugg and pick up unstopable. That alone will save you from so many deaths of just random BS that slows you, plus you get giga chaos mitigation and extra endurance charge BEEF.
@@TripolarBear yer im using earthshatter jugg bouncing between the 2 trans as cant decide which i like more. You can stick to sunder all the way thru the game and it clears way better especially with fist of war and seismic cry, it has less st than lacerate of hemm but feels better in every way
Went with rage vortex beserker because gaining rage for that skill is way better now, the skill is one of the most fun 'melee' ive played in a while but agree melee still needs a lot of work. The aoe of RV was cut in half, and the multi warcry/exerted attack playstyle is really clunky still. Its also feels really really bad investing 1/3 of my tree into gaining max rage and warcry QoL rather than putting those points into literally anything else.
"Melee" is fine this patch if your "melee" skill is hitting the targets half or a full screen away. These same "melee" skills were usually preferred before the patch too, except for boneshatter, which is a joke now with huge reduction of attack speed sources. Also, thanks to all the non-melee champ builds in 3.2.4 for convincing GGG to destroy champ for melee (bonk with stick) players.
Necro here. Feels great. I went CI in Act 8 and died some. Now, I barely ever die. I'm sitting on 15% phys mit + determination, and i am a tanky boy. Also minions OP.
I am running bleed glad with lacerate. Clear is being handled mostly by shield charging and explosions. You need to get a feeling for when to slip in a quick lacerate for tankier stuff while bearly pausing your charge. Lacerate isn't too bad in AoE once you get used too it. Well positioned, you just about cover a dense pack of magic mobs. But positioning does matter. If your charging covered everyone in bleed, then explosions proliferate. Even a screenwriter superpack can be exploded with lacerate by killing only one mob.
I've been playing the CATabasis meme and its honestly been smooth as hell. even the leveling with normal frostblades was nice. great map blaster, fairly easy time against pinnacle bosses and even the feared. keeping up endurance charges can feel a little clunky until you get ralakeshs. i underestimated the benefits of a 3k armor/eva chest too, ever since then i dont really die doing 8mod corrupted maps.
Same build for me. I've got a trash 400/400 6L and was feeling super squishy against phys. I just tossed a few extra points into the leech wheel to grab the 40% armor/evasion while leeching and it made a huge difference. How do you feel about the rage/warcry tech? Seems like an awful lot of points. I'm considering anointing a rage gain node instead. There's lots of good places to spend the points for damage/defense as needed. That armor wheel nearby looks good, the notable gives endurance charges when hit and there's the huge bonus armor while standing still mastery. Should be able to face tank most things and spam frostblades. Edit: like you said I think the build is tanky enough once you have really good gear, but this defensive variant seems good for getting there.
@@jasonlucia6682 the rage tech is def worth it imo. It ends up being a lot of extra damage in practice since you are permanently max rage. Without it rage is going to drop and stay far from max quite a bit in maps. As for the chest just grab a good base and slam defence fossils on it. Its pretty easy to hit really high armor/evasion and it makes a huge difference. Shouldnt be too expensive!
@@avyay9818 its not the greatest but i wouldnt say its outright bad compared to things like CF. but i can see people running into problems at the endgame until they get ralakeshs and +1 frenzy gloves. thats an astronomical dps boost, but requires like 30 div so if farming that amount seems hard i guess you might hit a wall. after that though you should honestly blow up everything short of ubers/delirium, even without the claw.
Hi thanks for making this video. For future videos could you please hover over the tooltip for a bit longer so we could pause and read what node or skill you’re talking about? That would improve the video a lot!
Power siphon mines is incredibly smooth. Makes for a great starter you can scale or swap to hexblast mines once you find some clusters and get your curse automation going since they're very similar trees.
Did exactly this. The transition was pretty easy and I crafted both my cluster jewels myself for wayyy cheaper than buying them outright. Great league starter
I found Archmage hits a bit of a wall at high density maps (8mod fully juiced for high pack size) due to getting stunned a lot. It's EHP is very much reliant on leeching and if you're not leeching you're paper. This is at 100k ehp, 30k phys max hit, 40k chaos, ailment immune. Small hits is what kills the build, not so much large ones.
There are ways to work around it if you followed steel's version from last league but the tankiness got hit noticeably with the nerfs to phys as X this league and the haunted body armor mod gone. You'll need much much more investment esp without the availability of grave crafting
Yeah I had that problem too last league when I played it. I had to adjust my play style and stop frost blinking into packs and start killing them from a good distance which slows you down but keeps you alive
Yeah all the tier lists and such recommending it fail to mention the quirks. If you haven't already, try removing automation from arcane cloak on juiced content.
yeah main problem I'm having atm, great clear and damage is feeling fantastic for the budget and elemental damage doesn't really bother me, but god forbid a white melee mob on a juiced map hits me without arcane cloak up it's GG lol def swapping out to something more tanky later on even if that expense of damage. I prefer comfort over anything else.
@@victorsoto4821 I had the opposite problem, automated arcane cloak was getting me killed. Once I started manually using it I had a much better time. Often times cloak would trigger at low mana giving a deceptively small shield and eating up your defenses. It's much better when used proactively imo.
My experience with lacerate glad is that it is probably one of the stongest bulds i have played (I played coc dd last league), i literally did the whole atlas with trash gear without even swapping and you can get a lot of damage with dual wield, rage, tincture, herald of purity, pride, blood stance and malevolence set up. I havnt experience it being bad later, the bigger the pack the better, blood explosions carry clear. On defensive side the max block and spell block set up that u can have easily even with dual wield makes you crazy tanky I died only to some dots. Sand stance, war banner and increase area damage per endurance change makes it more comfortable for clear for some parts. Overall I'm enjoying it a lot
Fubgun's LS slayer is one of the best builds I've ever played. If you're feeling squisy, you're not following his update videos. Im facetanking most things, np. Only other one I enjoyed as much was Rue's coc ice spear pathfinder from tota.
@@verminando8747 I've been doing destructive play guardians with a 450 ele DPS claw and that "can't be evaded" shield till yesterday. People wouldn't pay for that claw 40c earlier today so I'd say it's cheap. I went with armour/evasion instead of pure evasion Fubgun picked tho.
Agreed. Was doing reds without transitioning to crit or having any real defenses (no grace, jade or fortify) and while I was "squishy" it was more a lack of ability to level than clear the maps/kill bosses. Once you get everything going it's nuts.
@@VyssAlare out of curiosity? What setup did you use... I am using Rebuke of the Vaal with a Claw based on his update video but I'm having some trouble figuring where to go from there because I don't have the gear required to switch to crit (just finished the campaign and about to enter maps in my next play session).
12:55 Yes lacerate of hemo by itself is kinda meh for clear. I use crushing fist with fist of war, brutality and maim and it feels AMAZING. I fist entire expeditions and they go splat. I definitely would NEVER drop this for mapping it's just so smooth. 14:33 The stats already have their increased effect added in the tooltip, so no math needed. His tincture gives exactly what it says, 144% inc bleeding dmg and 43% dot multi. Top rolls without effect is 90% inc bleed dmg and 33% dot multi. For using tincture with blood magic; that's totally fine. I have the Bloodsoaked Blade keystone and it solves everything. I have more than enough recovery to not really notice the degen until the stacks get very high.
Playing arch mage rn. Felt squishy going into t17s until I capped my spell suppression. Now I just stand still and hold right click on the bosses. Ez game.
For the blood magic tincture thing, yeah, tinctures just straight up don't activate if you have blood magic. no clue about any ways around this though.
I was sort of following Fub's slayer, but went with armour/evasion with granite flask instead and have been feeling pretty damn tanky. Even with my limited PoE experience and pretty cheap gear I need to be either not paying any attention or doing something very stupid to rip.
Surprised wanding isnt higher up there. Compared to bow builds, wanders have better mobility from shield charge, better clear speed from kinetic blast, probably better defenses from having a shield. Also very cheap to get setup, especially now; get piscators and thunderfist and you are 4-link blasting. That alone can probably carry you to yellow maps for like 10c.
im vaal earthquakeing with a glad, going slow as i dont have too much time to play Just hit level 89, fairly tanky but low boss damage. Yesterday i hit tier16, boss kills are slow, but im on a 330dps axe with shitty gear and a 5 link once i get some gear it will be quite decent i think. It's anoying to backtrack for gold though
When you read this on stream while feeding the strimmer ego, play widetime for us. Also Lac Glad take is 100%, it's fun like CF, but the range and clear leaves you wanting.
Stuck with bleed berzerker, dunno how to progress it in a balanced way and not feel myself as a glass cannon. Tried to go lacerate of butchering and rage vortex which makes timed physical rf, with 2h, but it still feels awkward
Poison concoction slayer was better than my cyclone build i rerolled into. Turns out even 9 endurance charges isnt enough to make abyssus feasable. I rerolled back to poison conc in less than 1 day
Started necromancer cause I thought "how bad could all these nerfs be?". Oh boy;; It was the worst league start experience I've had in a while. Switched off two days ago and swore to never touch necro again unless there are some major adjustment to either non-existent survivability or stretched out gem slots.
How to make melee mor viable? Better weapon implicit, access to better movement skill. Those two will help a lot. Two handed melee is shit because you gain basically nothing by going two handed (more dmg isnot actually more damage when you lookt at how 1h+s/dual wield can be 8-10 link). Movement skill because melee movement skill is awful (hence people use frost blink) Also, not all melee is awful. It is more prominent in physical melee. Why? Because we dont have access to spreading dmg/debuff other than bleed. (Cold can use HoI, fire use infernal strike/HoA or proliferation, lightning has LS (obviously))
Is there a good pob for the archmage stuff? I.e i didn't know about using the armour influence to greatly boost your tankyness. Its hard to find pobs with good progression guides :(
my scion two handed sword double strike melee slayer/berserk build is just shitshow! also rage feels like crap after its attack speed buff removal, fking hate rage now
Don't play fubgun builds, they're bait. Sure he is 100 now but not until he decided he "didn't want to stream for a while" during the exploit and mysteriously comes back to streaming with a headhunter and out of this world gear. If you want to play LS try Palsteron or Allie (yes even Allie's build is better thanb fubguns).
Fub's pobs are just squishy zoomer, if that's not for you it's not really bait but just not the style of build you like to play. I would recommend most other players to follow pal or tuna for a well rounded style though that's true.
Hi, do you have a link to your current zerker slam build? Because in the previous top 10 starter builds video you linked the spreadsheet from "Ben" but those builds are different to your current the 13 button builds of course standing out the most
Warden LS was not Great Its clunky as hell to play just to get kind of decent dmg and then your not really all that tanky. Wouldnt call it a success personaly I had to switch it off
Slam was fun, til i went six link... the gems i chose made it insufferably slow.. even though i was zerker... with as on gems and gloves. /myskillissue.
I have this problem too with pulverize just eating up my last saviour of atk speed, sure the power charges and rage helps a lot but the first few strikes when nothing is activated is so extremely slow. If I activate my slam in the wrong time I'm just smelting sometimes. Attack speed is seriously an issue, ny workarounds you have figured out? Playing a autoexert earthshatter Zerk, and loved it before my attack speed just pummeld. This is my second League as well so I'm as noob as you can get in this game 😅

That would improve the video a lot!
ah yes, sorry about that!
The stats on the tincture are already reflecting the increased effect line
its the eyes of the great wolf all over again!!!
ah really ok, still insane damage but thanks for letting me know!
FLICKER STRIKE got ignored as usual, one of the most played skills for slayer and the one that tops the dps list.
Fubgun's LS slayer is one of the best builds I've ever played. If you're feeling squisy, you're not following his update videos. Im facetanking most things, np. Only other one I enjoyed as much was Rue's coc ice spear pathfinder from tota.
Can this build do t16 with low investment?
@@verminando8747 it can. but the bosses with high physical dmg will probably wipe the floor with you in the beginning
I really want a tripolar guide on zerker slam. Just saying
next league start for sure king
I don’t think fist of war support works on crushing fist since it is triggered no?
@@stefaansterk9856 I tested it earlier - it works :)
Picking up that last Potent Blood Sap Tincture of Melting for 50c before they all jumped to 3 div, *chef kiss*
i both both the respect and clear disdain for RF XD , excited to walk my way thru PoE2 XD
Playing arch mage rn. Felt squishy going into t17s until I capped my spell suppression. Now I just stand still and hold right click on the bosses. Ez game.
Link PoB?
@austinflores7185 it's just goratha's archmage build.
For the blood magic tincture thing, yeah, tinctures just straight up don't activate if you have blood magic. no clue about any ways around this though.
there's a keystone that changes mana burn to cost life. that might work
I love my sc version of Gorathas retaliation glad. Extremely tanky and enough damage for watch stones with pretty basic gear
I was sort of following Fub's slayer, but went with armour/evasion with granite flask instead and have been feeling pretty damn tanky. Even with my limited PoE experience and pretty cheap gear I need to be either not paying any attention or doing something very stupid to rip.
Spell suppression is big.
I've enjoyed the clear speed and tankiness of the SST Gladiator, but oh FUCK is it horrible when you have to single target anything.
I did my voidstones and just going to soley use it for farming lol.
I went Storm Burst totems to start this league. But I can't wait to try melee as my 2nd build.
Earthshatter Jugg is the smoothest league starter i’ve ever played.
im vaal earthquakeing with a glad, going slow as i dont have too much time to play
Just hit level 89, fairly tanky but low boss damage. Yesterday i hit tier16, boss kills are slow, but im on a 330dps axe with shitty gear and a 5 link
once i get some gear it will be quite decent i think. It's anoying to backtrack for gold though
Chieftain slam bleed with infinite power warcry is so slept on.
Playing Heiro and I know what I need to get tanky, but full spell suppress gear and ancestral vision are EXPENSIVE.
I rerolled back to poison conc in less than 1 day
I had to respec out of cyclone too and went to ziz’s bleed build.
Im playing bama guardian, feels good
Why am i watching this. Im in ruthless. And btw retal is my build. Its not a meme, its great. And im not bleed build
SST isnt a melle skill so a lot of things dont work for it such as the tinctures and fortify on melle hit.
Hexblast mines so squishy compared to archmage. I got spoiled last league.
Started necromancer cause I thought "how bad could all these nerfs be?". Oh boy;; It was the worst league start experience I've had in a while. Switched off two days ago and swore to never touch necro again unless there are some major adjustment to either non-existent survivability or stretched out gem slots.
I haven't played poe in years and I'm enjoying a minion build. I'm only on T9 maps slowly progressing through atlas but it's been a breeze so far.
Did he not see that power siphon mines guys name?!?!? SiphonMyBussy killed me lmfaooo
Movement skill because melee movement skill is awful (hence people use frost blink)
Also, not all melee is awful. It is more prominent in physical melee. Why? Because we dont have access to spreading dmg/debuff other than bleed. (Cold can use HoI, fire use infernal strike/HoA or proliferation, lightning has LS (obviously))
“I’m not gonna lie… I was completely right”
Tincture stuff doesnt work with SST right? Cuz we aint attacking with a melee weapon
my bleed slam glad cleared through the feared 2 days ago
I started lacerate glad and did my first 2 stones on a 4l, giga tanky but clear is pretty whatever
Is there a good pob for the archmage stuff? I.e i didn't know about using the armour influence to greatly boost your tankyness. Its hard to find pobs with good progression guides :(
I would imagine the build ziz put out for ice nova would have progression
which gem should i drop on my ground slam if i only have a 5L?
Can confirm that slayer slam is very cluncky.
Is hexblast mines worth anything if I hate sanctum? I mean I really hate it, whoever had the idea I hate them, I hate their dog
Pretty good uber boss killer. Decent mapper
27% Evade Chance doesn't taking 1 in 4 hits, it means taking 3 in 4 hits ;)
my scion two handed sword double strike melee slayer/berserk build is just shitshow! also rage feels like crap after its attack speed buff removal, fking hate rage now
Gotta be a crackhead and bait it stacks and make shit go off and get away from it... I'm learning now and have way less deaths this league....
Are the old builds on maxroll still viable?
I enjoyed corrupted fever and srs. Bored of lacerate
Archmage been blasting tbh
Don't play fubgun builds, they're bait. Sure he is 100 now but not until he decided he "didn't want to stream for a while" during the exploit and mysteriously comes back to streaming with a headhunter and out of this world gear. If you want to play LS try Palsteron or Allie (yes even Allie's build is better thanb fubguns).
Fub's pobs are just squishy zoomer, if that's not for you it's not really bait but just not the style of build you like to play. I would recommend most other players to follow pal or tuna for a well rounded style though that's true.
Its not bait..i played fabs build too
Hi, do you have a link to your current zerker slam build? Because in the previous top 10 starter builds video you linked the spreadsheet from "Ben" but those builds are different to your current
the 13 button builds of course standing out the most
Here you go bud. Might not be perfect i changed some things around and what not but should be more than plenty for a good start pobb.in/X0qm65e8Eyjb
thanks a lot :3
nice video but so many ads i had to do adblock again insts so hard with 7 adds in 1 video
Lacerate reach is so bad it feels terrible for mapping.
Based on the usage in this video im not sure I can name a single thing in poe that is not "cute".
No love for my Piano 🎹 Chieftains 😢
Anyone have any Hexblast build that are not for sanctum?
Warden LS was not Great Its clunky as hell to play just to get kind of decent dmg and then your not really all that tanky. Wouldnt call it a success personaly I had to switch it off
A cool video, but... "care about your gear" just sounds like "don't be poor bro lol". 🤣
LS warden is horrible for survival. warden overall sux. Never felt an ascendency suck s9 much
First
Slam was fun, til i went six link... the gems i chose made it insufferably slow.. even though i was zerker... with as on gems and gloves.
