Yea, it was great find, it did have few things wrong, for example coolant leak from cylinder base gasket, etc.. I bought exactly same bike 2004 KTM 250sx few years ago, bike was in great conditions and I paid $1800 .. California has good used dirt bike market, bikes are cheaper..
I've NEVER seen shit for 2 stroke MX bikes under a grand. For $900 you get an 80 or MAYBE a 1991 KX125 that needs work. Most 03-05s are in the $2 - $3k range and its usually a KX250 or CR250, not a running 250SX with a pipe in great shape. That bike is basically a fluke and an impossible thing to score again.

I was a little nervous about spending above my budget for tools, but thanks to your video I was able to see I have everything need already. Thats the best part about complete machines.. Its cheaper to buy a complete machine then individual parts lol. Hence why parting out makes the most money =)
I hope you sent this video to the previous owner to show them how you bastardized their old bike. Just kidding. This was pretty amazing since whenever I buy a bike, I just take it home and ride it straight away. I can see how this would be much more satisfying in the end. Seriously, great job and cheers!
Thank you for the video, I just bought a 2000 KTM 200 EXC that needs some work. $1500 in Arizona. All she needs is some plastic, the fork seals replaced and a new front tire. I'm also going to get a new air filter and a fuel line. I consider that a steel for this KTM this will be the first non-japanese bike I've owned, except for the beta's I've used in trials Competition.
You should have a shallow bucket, like a oil draining bucket, (for when you change your oil) and you’ll be able to put all the screws and stuff, and a towel with parts, it’ll be hard to lose anything
Bit of a late reply but I started with lawnmowers then to go karts then to put bikes then dirt bikes and I now work as a motorcycle repair mechanic for top end bikes and I just finished up on a ninja h2 for a guys dream bike build
Beautiful video, see people talking about the money it would of costed to do this, but every piece on the bike is what he wants and he will have a connection with that like no new bike that is stock would bring you

Great build! However, the music was so terrible that I had to mute it a minute into the video. Horrible music, but super awesome bike. I love the smell of 2-stroke in the morning.

In Germany you'll pay atleast 3000€ and if you want a decent bike you will pay around 4/5 grand. 900$ for this bike is a absolute win.

900 for a 2004 sx is not that uncommon, at least where i live the sx is pretty cheap compared to the exc, because you cant take it on the road.
Now this called a complete rebuild, not those that put some spray on it and that's it!
