The two sports movies (so to speak) that cracked me up the most and still do to this day…obviously Slap Shot being #1 but I was hysterically laughing watching King Pin.
I get it…technically it’s not a “sports movie” but neither was Slap Shot or The Bad News Bears, Tin Cup, and the Major League movies. They’re comedies that revolve around a sport, and at my age now, bowling is definitely a sport lol. Thanks so much for commenting 👍🏻

@jameskenyon918. I couldn’t agree more! Comedy aside, it’s still one of the best sports movies, giving an honest depiction of how the minor leagues of Hockey were back then and the camera work gave us an on ice feel we haven’t seen again. Much like what Stallone did for the inside feel of the ring. Thank you for your comment 👍🏻

@@STG1313 Not just the minor leagues. We saw a lot of the over the top fights in Pittsburgh watching the Penguins get pummeled by the Flyers, Bruins and Red Wings back in this time period too. The real-life inspirations for the Hanson Brothers are Jeff Carlson (born July 20, 1953), Jack Carlson (born August 23, 1954), and Steve Carlson (born August 26, 1955). Saw this in a theatre 2 nights ago. there were about 60 of us, and mostly in the same age range(I`m 67). There were about 8 to 10 people wearing Hanson Jerseys. We all laughed our @$$es off all through the entire movie !There are so many great character actors with roles in this that I remember well over the years. If you lived in the 70s, you really get a treat by seeing this again, looking backwards at all the crazy stuff we wore and the hairdoos and so on. They're not the ideal standard you want your child to emulate 🤣 but I have to admit that I certainly understand what you mean. I still find it hysterical that I recorded this song and spent several hours putting the clips together to match the length of the song. This little video has gotten so much attention from the 3.5 minute movie clip. Out of all the responses ive received, not one person has yet to acknowledge the theme song from that movie, which I am singing every vocal part lol. I guess I did it so good, everyone thought it was the original woman singing it...or, they could care less about the song, it was the montage I put together that they enjoy. Yep, it's probably the latter. 👍🏻

Without a doubt the most authentic in appearance that we’ve ever seen in motion pictures. Quoting lines from this classic is like quoting lines from Jaws, the Godfather I and II, Rocky, It’s a Wonderful Life, Goodfellas, etc. Every movie mentioned (with the exception of SlapShot) took home Academy Awards. That says something when a cult classic which never received accolades, and yet it’s become part of Northern American lexicon. That’s impressive. Thanks so much for leaving a comment 👍🏻
