I’m from New York, and a year or two ago, I visited the UK. My British hosts took me to this restaurant, where they planned to book one of the banquet halls. There, I met the owner, Mr. Hussain -a man who had migrated from Pakistan but marketed his restaurant as serving Indian cuisine. He explained that in the UK, the brand image and value of Indian food are higher, with greater demand compared to Pakistani cuisine. That insight stuck with me, highlighting how perceptions can unexpectedly shape business decisions.
He wasn't exactly lying, as Pakistan is part of the same land and used to be part of India. And I don't care about "authenticity", if the food is good I like it.

It's a Pakistani restaurant, not an Indian restaurant. The owner, Mahboob Hussain, was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and moved to the UK at a young age in 1969. I have been to both of its restaurants in Manchester and London several times. All the cuisine and chefs are Pakistani. Previously, I saw on their website explicitly stating that the restaurant and cuisine are Pakistani and not Indian. I'm completely lost as to why anyone would call it an Indian restaurant. It's a complete misconception to say that both Pakistani and Indian cuisines are the same. These are big differences in Indian and Pakistani cuisines. Both have their own individual characteristics and history. Pakistani cuisine is influenced by Central Asian, Middle Eastern, and Afghan flavors, with a focus on meat dishes, particularly beef and lamb. Indian cuisine is highly diverse, with significant vegetarian options influenced by Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist traditions.
