it wasnt without their will.. they were prisoners and if they wouldnt be "slaves" they wouldnt have an income or wouldnt integrate into society.. this was a solution because without that system you would see that most women would sell themselves if their land was taken
That ll be the unfortunate reality at that period of time but its still not humane, they are forced into such situation. Providing livinghood can be a good way to look at it but the right to their body is just a different level of sacrifice. When any system allows that, man take advantage of it. Who would listen to the protest of a maid or a slave vs a reputable man in society?
+viva viva the thing is that at that time it was normal to have slaves it was a diffrent time, these rules made the slave like free people eventually if those rules were truly preceived there wouldnt be slaves anymore. The rules were set in a way where you couldnt take advantage.. it was just that the people later on started to neglect them
Finally, a much needed discussion on this particular topic. Many Islam criticists use this topic as fuel for their ideas and if you would attempt to research this online by yourself you would not find any clear islamic sources to disprove their arguments. I am so happy and grateful that sheikh Omar Suleiman has decided to spread this knowledge online. May Allah reward him immensely and make us all more steadfast in our deen.
he is incorrect, this is in sahih al bukhari: "I entered the Mosque and saw Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri and sat beside him and asked him about Al-Azl (i.e. coitus interruptus). Abu Sa`id said, "We went out with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) for the Ghazwa of Banu Al-Mustaliq and we received captives from among the Arab captives and we desired women and celibacy became hard on us and we loved to do coitus interruptus. So when we intended to do coitus interrupt us, we said, 'How can we do coitus interruptus before asking Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) who is present among us?" We asked (him) about it and he said, 'It is better for you not to do so, for if any soul (till the Day of Resurrection) is predestined to exist, it will exist.""
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that at the Battle of Hunain Allah's Messenger sent an army to Autas and encountered the enemy and fought with them. Having overcome them and taken them captives, the Companions of Allah's Messenger seemed to refrain from having intercourse with captive women because of their husbands being polytheists. Then Allah, Most High, sent down regarding that:" And women already married, except those whom your right hands possess (Quran 4:. 24)" (i. e. they were lawful for them when their 'Idda period came to an end). Sahih Muslim 8:3432
I think it’s called making justifications and excuses to mask the reality of the crimes Mohammad committed; slave master, war lord, sex obsessed old man, segregated women, etc etc etc
He is claiming that slaves had the same rights as wives. If the slaves are in fact prisoners of war, then it's obvious that they haven't given consent to be enslaved. A wife on the other hand has given consent for marriage. Simply saying that it's the same as marital rape is not an excuse.
Again Wrong. Ur right That Islam only recognition of Slavery is frm the context of War. But a Slaves have rights in Islam. And Woman also need to agree to sex so that its not rape
You did not understand a bit did you?? during the times of war when their were no qazis to recite the niqaah and no witness for the niqaah because obviously every one was either at war or suffering how would you protect a women? because you have no means to marry her.so it was allowed to make them slaves..and if men ever were intimate to them (with their consent)they were given the rights of wife..isn't it simple??
To all of the confused people here’s, there no justification found in the Abrahamic faiths but what you find in all of them is the normative talk of it. The Quran commands Muslims to free slaves numerous times, and before that to treat slaves as you would treat anyone else because they are completely equal. The issue is that people can’t comprehend the normative state of slavery in the past, and can only think of the most recent American slavery. Neither is acceptable of course but you need to know that there is a difference and neither is endorsed in Abrahamic scripture.
The problem is that it is claimed that the Koran is perfect. And this normative talk suggest the legitimacy of slave trade and of the concept of 'owning somebody'. Further one could argue that Muhammad should be a role model and he certainly did not seem to have something agains slaves, on the contrary. (And that’s not even taken into account a lot of really problematic hadiths). So If someone can read this and come to the conclusion that this is gods book, I am really surprised. Because a perfect book of good should make sense in all times and places, and this obviously makes no sense and falls way behind basic human rights
Thank you for your excellent comment..to my believe, the content is based on hundreds of years ago, considering the context of the establishing Islam, rules and regulations are still in progress..on last hajj, Prophet's (be peace be upon him) clealy stated that no there is no superiority white over black, rich over, poor or men over women..and he freed all the slaves..i wonder why it is not easily understandable
@@Blackadeshi it is not easily understandable because there are parts in Koran (and especially in hadiths) that suggest otherwise. A few examples: 1) The testimony of a women counts nothing (or half of a mens according to Hadith’s). If men are in fact not superior to women, why should their testimony not count ? 2) In Koran a punishment for zina for a women is to be imprisoned in her house until her death. While severe punishment for men is avoidable by repenting. It does not make a lot of sense to have such a big difference in punishment for the exact same crime. 3) talking in general about the (authentic) hadiths, they also don’t seem as if Muhammad really valued man and women equally. But you won’t accept this point and I don’t want to find specific quotes A women can not sleep with her slave while a man can
The fact that people are justifying slavery of another human being and justifying it by saying God/Allah promoted or somehow was OK with slavery of any kind is LUDICROUS!!!!! Do people not step back and think logically???? MAN is the one who is violent, jealous, vengeful.....MAN, not any "god" they want to put the blame on. Man is a coward when using a god for justification of such things.....regardless of which religion it comes from.
@K T Nope. Slaves have rights in Islam. And Islam only understand slavery in context of War. And in Many Islamic lands r ruled by Slaves. Its not same as Western instutionalized Slavery system.
@Little Sunshine You know what it has been some time since i had these beliefs, and i totally agree with you, any type of forcing someone sexually is depravity. However normal slaves back in those days were how things worked, but concubines is wicked
Ali Dangou So the good kind of slavery then? The nice kind? Just so we are clear what we are talking about. There's a kind fo slavery when its not a bad thing to do? Couldnt he, for example, have given those freed slaves jobs and paid them? Or given them some money and sent them on their ways? Or was the only moral option he could think of to force them to work for him for free?
well, the way Islam abolished slavery was more practical and successful then what we know of in the united states. and the reason why is say the united states abolishing of slavery was unsuccessful is because we still see set backs of it in African American communities. the issue of race still exists in America and examples of it are appearing everyday. Islam on the other hand established that you give your slave to wear from what you wear and give them to eat from what you eat, you don't just beat them or over work them. and this was established in the duration of slavery being prevalent. freeing of slaves was highly encouraged and rewarded, and also set as penalties for certain crimes or sins. The Islamic system was very successful not only in abolishing slavery but racism as well. examples of racism today is as the sheikh said are out of culture not Islam. I hope this clears the confusion.
6. Why take captives in the first place? Someone might say that while it is fine that Islam gives so many guarantees to captured women but why capture them in the first place? The answer is in the on ground realities. In the past centuries it was common with armies to capture men and women of the conquered nations. It was true even before Islam and the people with whom Muslims had encounters often resorted to this. Now if the Muslims were not to capture their people it would have made the enemy bold knowing that Muslims were barred by their faith to respond in kind. Therefore, Islam did not declare it unlawful rather allowed the Muslims to the same. It served two purposes i.e. weakening the morale of the enemy plus opportunity to get Muslim prisoners with the enemies frees through exchange of captives. However Muslims generally treated the captives in the best possible way. An example of exchange of prisoners is the hadith of Sahih Muslim which states a slave-girl given in the custody of Salama bin al-Akwa was taken back and sent back to the pagans to get the Muslim prisoners released. (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 4345) While Islam does permit taking captives, it is neither a religious obligation nor something advised. If the nations of the world, however, agree not to harm the civilians or take them as captives and making them slaves, then Muslims should also follow the same as long as other nations do not betray. (See, Takmila Fath al-Mulhim, Dar al-Ahya al-Turath al-Arabi, Beirut, 2006 vol.1 pp.268-269) If, however, other nations do not follow the agreements Muslims will have but no choice except to take their prisoners and find possibility for the release of their own people. This arrangement of prisoner swap has found success for Muslims in the Middle East lately and the case of Dr. Aafia Siddiqi also highlights its importance.
3.RIGHT TO RECEIVE EMANCIPATION IF U WILL CAREFULLY READ THOSE VERSES IT CAN BE SEEN CLEARLY THAT IF THE SLAVE WOMEN ORE MEN DESIRES EMANCIPATION THEY CAN"T BE DENIED. SO THIS PROVES THAT EVEN AFTER NO ONE COMES TO FREE THEM THEY CAN REFUSE TO HAVE SEX WITH THEIR MASTERS AND DEMAND FOR FREEDOM PROOF: The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) distributed the captive women of Banu Al-Mustaliq. Juwayriyah bint Al-Haarith, may Allah be pleased with her, was among the captives and she was a blessing for her people. Let us know about her story from ‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her. It was narrated that she said, “When the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) distributed the captive women of Banu Al-Mustaliq, Juwayriyah bint Al-Haarith belonged to the share of Thaabit bin Qays bin Shammaas or one of his cousins. She held a manumission contract with him. She was a beautiful and attractive woman. Anyone who saw her admired her. She came to the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) in order to help her in paying her manumission.” ‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with him, continued By Allah, as soon as I saw her at the door of my room, I hated her. I knew that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) would admire her. She entered to see the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) and said “O Messenger of Allah, I am Juwayriyah bint Al-Haarith bin Abi Dhiraar, the chief of his people. I have been afflicted with an adversity that you know [i.e. that she had become a slave woman after she was a free woman and the first lady of her people]. I belong to the share of Thaabit bin Qays bin Shammaas, or a cousin of his, and I hold a manumission contract with him. Here I am seeking your help for the manumission.” The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) said: “Would you want what is better than this?” She said, “What is that, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied: “I shall pay your manumission and marry you.” She agreed, and then the news spread among people. Thereupon, the Muslims released all Banu Al-Mustaliq’s captives as they had become relatives through the marriage of the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ). ‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “The marriage of the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) to Juwayriyah, may Allah be pleased with her, was the cause of the setting free of one hundred families of the Banu Al-Mustaliq. I do not know of a woman who was greater in blessing to her people than she was. Following the incident, Al-Haarith bin Abi Dhiraar, Juwayriyah’s father, came to Madeenah with the ransom of his daughter. The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) invited him to embrace Islam, and he did.” The Battle of Al-Muraysee‘ is considered one of the unique and blessed Battles in Islam. Following that Battle, a whole tribe embraced Islam. The reason behind their conversion to Islam was that the Companions, may Allah be pleased with him, freed and returned the captives that were their shares of the booties. They hated to enslave the relatives of the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ). Due to that communal emancipation and unique generosity, the whole tribe embraced Islam.
Affan Khan if islam was really peacefull and claimed to be morally superior then it would have never allowed to take females and children as captives in the first place (like ban alkohol) And why would a women have sex with those woman who killed their husbands, brothers, fahters in the first place? Thats just absurd "Muh enslave women after war was absolutely normal and that's why we do it too" is not really an argument if you claim that your religion has the moral high ground"
CONCLUSION FROM THE ABOVE HADITH 1.THE SLAVE WOMEN CAN DENY HER MASTER'S SEXUAL ADVANCES AND DEMAND FOR EMANCIPATION(BUT SHE HAS TO WORK TO ATTAIN HER FREEDOM) 2.WE DON'T KILL THEM WHO COMES TO RANSOM THEIR CAPTIVES.
4. Women are NOT enslaved for sex Following arguments prove that even though physical relations are permissible, slave-women are not treated like “sex objects” in the House of Islam as falsely propagated by anti-Islamic polemicists and orientalists. 4. 1 Cohabiting randomly with slave-women is not allowed Firstly when there are women among the captives it is not that every soldier has the right to lay with anyone of the captive women. This is simply not permissible. In fact the leader of the Muslims distributes the prisoners among the Muslims and only the one who is given to a person and becomes his slave is permissible for him. This is vital because this way the person becomes in charge of the slave that comes to him and is responsible for her (or him). Recall the above statement that in certain ways the relation is like marriage. In fact anyone were to cohabit with a slave-women before the decision of the leader about them and before their due distribution, he was considered an adulterer and was liable to be punished. Consider the following report; Khalid sent Dhirar bin al-Azwar in a party and they attacked an area of the tribe of Bani Asad. They captured a pretty woman, Dhirar liked her hence he asked his companions to grant her to him and they did so. He then had sexual intercourse with her, when he completed his mission he felt guilty, and went to Khalid and told him about what he had done. Khalid said: 'I permit her for you and make it lawful to you.' He said: 'No not until you write to Umar (about this)'. (Khalid informed ‘Umar about this) and ‘Umar wrote back that he (i.e. Dhirar) should be stoned (to death). By the time ‘Umar's message reached, Dhirar had died. Khalid said: 'Allah did not want to disgrace Dhirar.’ (Al-Bayhaqi’s Sunan al-Kubra, Dar al-Kotob al-Ilmiyya, Beirut, 2003 vol.9 p.177 Hadith 18222) Had the taking of captives only been for sensual pleasure there was no need to instruct for such a harsh punishment. This proves women are not slaved for physical pleasure. 4.2 A slave-woman jointly owned by two or more men is unlawful for all of them During the distribution, at times a slave-woman may be allotted to more than one person. In such a case she remains unlawful for all of them. Ibn Qudama al-Maqdasi (d. 620 A.H.) writes: “It is not permissible to have intercourse with a shared slave-woman.” (Al-Mughni, Matkaba al-Qahirah, Cairo, 1968, vol.6 p.64) The famous example of this is the case of Sayyidah Juwariyah bint al-Harith who before being manumitted and married to the Holy Prophet -on him be the peace and blessings of Allah- was given as a slave to Thabit Ibn Qays and one of his cousins. In the English translation of a section of Ibn Sa’d’s work often used by various anti-Islamic polemicists the translator, S. Moinul Haq adds the following footnote to the narration with the above mentioned fact about Sayyidah Juwayriyah; “When a slave girl was allotted to more than one persons, none of them could cohabit with her.” (Kitab al-Tabaqat al-Kabir vol.2 p.78 n.2) This again kills the lie that women were taken as captives for physical pleasure. Had this been the case, multiple masters of a slave-woman would all have been allowed to seek pleasure with her. But this not the case! 4.3 When the slave-woman’s previous marriage remains intact And once a woman is given in protective custody of a Muslim man, it may happen that she is actually unlawful for him right from the time of being captured as her earlier marriage may actually be intact. This is when a woman is captured along with her husband or when they are captured after each other and are brought together to area under Muslim jurisdiction. Muhammad bin al-Hasan al-Shaybani - the student of Abu Hanifa, the Imam- said: “When the army takes a woman captive followed by her husband who is also taken captive sooner or later and either the woman does not have menses during that period or has had upto three menses but she is not taken out of the Territory of War before her husband is taken, their marriage shall continue.[1]” (Kitab Al-Siyar Al-Saghir- The Shorter Book on Muslim International Law- Translated by Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi, Islamic Research Institute, Islamabad, 1998 p.51) So again, a woman is taken as a captive and she must be taken care of according to Islamic teachings about slaves, but she remains unlawful for her master and anyone else except her husband. This could have not been the case if slave-women were to be used as “sex objects.” 4.4. Command to arrange for the marriage of slave-women Further Muslims are actually instructed to get the slave-women married. The Holy Qur’an says: وأنكحوا الأيامى منكم والصالحين من عبادكم وإمائكم “Arrange the marriage of the spouseless among you, and the capable from among your bondmen and bondwomen.” (Qur’an 24:32) “So it is incumbent upon the masters of the slaves and the slave girls that those among them who have the ability to get married, their marriage should be arranged. It is purported to mean here that if they show their need and desire to get married, then according to some jurists it is binding on the owners to marry them off. But the majority of jurists have ruled that in such a situation it is incumbent upon the masters not to place any hindrance in their marriage and allow them to get married, because the marriage of slaves and slave girls cannot be performed without the permission of their owners … The gist of this all is that the owners are instructed here not to make any delay in granting permission of marriage to their subjects …” (Mufti Muhammad Shafi’, Ma’ariful Qur’an- Translation by Muhammad Ishrat Husain, Karachi, n.d. vol.6 pp.423-424) So the owners are asked to arrange for the marriage of their slaves or at least not to stop them from doing so, if they wish to. This again proves our point, because when a slave-woman is married off to someone, she becomes unlawful for her master. And here we see the master being asked to marry her off or at least not to make it difficult for her to marry. Had the purpose of taking slave-women been sexual pleasure, there was no point in asking the masters to make it easy for the slave-women to get married and become unlawful for the masters. During the time of ‘Umar- may Allah be pleased with him- a person was brought to him for cohabiting with his slave-woman who was married to someone, he punished him severely with hundred lashes. See Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba, Narration 29152-29153, Muhammad Awwama ed. In fact the best is that one manumits his slave-girl and he marries her as a free woman. Narrated Abu Musa: Allah's Messenger said, "He who has a slave-girl and educates and treats her nicely and then manumits and marries her, will get a double reward." (Sahih Bukhari, Book 46, Hadith 720) And once she is a free-woman and properly married then there is no question of being a “sex object” unless one considers marriage the same. 4.5. Pagan slave-women are unlawful for their masters Further, not all slave-women are lawful for their masters. Just like Islam does not allow Muslim men to marry pagan women i.e. those who are neither Muslims nor from the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) it does not allow Muslim men to have physical intimacy with pagan slave-women. Though such slave-women will be taken care for their general needs but they will be unlawful for their masters unless they become Muslims or follow another Abrahamic faith. Al-‘Ayni (d. 855 A.H.) writes: “The imams with ruling have agreed that it is not permissible to have intercourse with pagan (slave-women),” (‘Umdatul Qari, Dar al-Ahya al-Turath al-Arabi, Beirut, n.d. vol.7 p. 103) This is further evidence that slave-master relationship that makes physical intimacy lawful is in many ways akin to marriage. In fact there are many others rules related to marriage that apply to this relation like combining two sisters or close relatives in this relation. For this reason Muslim jurists state; “ … Intercourse with the slave-woman is (in certain ways) like the marriage contract.” (Al Mausu'ah Al Fiqhiyyah Al Kuwaitiyah. vol.11 p.300) And this is the reason why the “imams of ruling” have sought evidence against intercourse with slave-women with the following rule mentioned in the Book of Allah; وَلَا تَنْكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنَّ “Do not marry (la tankihu) the polytheist women, unless they come to believe (in Islam);” (Qur’an 2:221) Therefore, once again we have a point; had the purpose been free “use” of women there was no reason to make pagan slave-women who are so much averse to Islam in their beliefs as unlawful for Muslim men. WELL REGARDING PAGAN WOMEN IT IS THE VIEW OF IMAMS
Was it Islam that created the idea of slavery?? Slavery was the big institution of that times it was Islam that actually even discussed the rights of the slaves for the first time. Giving the slave woman the rights equal to the wives and their children being recognised as the legal heirs..! It is like someone will never agree because prejudice within isn’t allowing him to see and accept the truth
Ginoitaliano Everyone needs to understand that this concept is about history about war traditions, back than every tribe irrespective of religion used to capture the man, women even the animals it was logical because think when a whole land is destroyed what left over women or men would do there?. Captured women were use to be treated in very inhumane way it is when Islam granted rights to those women even. Same goes for slaves, it was a tradition of having slaves and then selling them slaves were also used to be treated like animals and Islam granted rights to them. Kindly just do not see this in accordance with 21st century it is about way way back before it was part of civilisation and mankind history a part of war traditions. It is funny to see that hate comments are coming from west people, the West which just granted inheritance rights to women not even a century ago, and on the other hand it is Islam which granted inheritance rights to women even back in time.
@@khalidgillani932 Simple question: Do you think Slavery is okay? If yes, never mind my comment. If no then tell me, are you saying that Islam gave up to this "tradition" and "part of the past civilizations" and made peace with it by giving rights to SLAVES? Instead of abolishing it as it did with so many other things that were the norm and the "traditions" back then. As far as I know drinking, adultery, burrying girls alive were also TRADITIONS before Islam, but still they were abolished totally, there were no rights discussed! Or is buying and selling people less horrible then these things? I thought Islam was the perfect religion in which what's right is right and what's wrong is wrong for all the times and places regardless of peoples' traditions and norms? And this comment is coming from the east, no need to think every doubt or question on Islam is an attack or a conspiracy from the west..
If you were alive back then you would have definitely had a slave and treated them badly due to social and cultural norms, Islam reformed the way they're treated and uplifted them. Ofc war will result in POWs and women and children of the enemy camps so they were taken in by the Islamic state and Muslim households to be part of the family and work to earn their keep. This is in times of war and you could only have a slave through the result of war, so now in this day and age that's not necessary since there isn't a war. So you see slavery in Islamic terms is necessary for solving post war problems.
I have a few questions please: 1. Is war the only way for a woman to become "whom the right hand possesses"? 2. How come islam didn't require men to marry them rather than encouraging them to do so? 3. If such a woman's husband was alive but far away (not in the same region), did they have the right then to be intimate with them? 4. What if a woman prisoner didn't want to live with and be part of the man's family, could she leave or be transferred to another family?
+Zooney L 1. Mohammed had slave women who were given to him as gifts, so it is not true that slave women were only acquired in war. Muslims use this as an excuse to portray sex slavery as "humane" to captives. As if you cannot help a survivor of war without enslaving and raping her! 2. Islam didn't require men to marry slaves because it is a well-known fact that slave women were possessions who were routinely traded or sold. Since you can't trade or sell a wife, they did not marry their slave girls. 3. Yes. There are ahadiths that report women being taken as sex slaves when their husbands were known to be alive. 4. If she got to decide who she lived with, she would not be a slave, right? Mohammed and his companions picked the girls they wanted as slaves, not the other way around. Monstrous, isn't it?
Sean Derry 1) Back then yes it's true you could take them as gifts HOWEVER today you cannot. They are acquired in WAR and they are supposed to be prostitutes (you are supposed to have their CONSENT YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RAPE THEM. I GAVE YOU A VERSE COMMANDING MUSLIMS TO DO SO.) Muhammad concubines were all set free. 2)Yes like i said in the past it may have been true. Past Islamic empires did it against the will of Islam. However a slave can request her freedom and the "masters" are supposed to st them free. I also gave you a verse showing that also. 3)I know there were! However it was the rule of war. If that Husband was Muslim then she was to be set free. If that Husband was a non-Muslim again it was the rule of War. What the Byzantines and what the Sassanids did was a hell of a lot worse. TODAY we are NOT ALLOWED to keep slaves. The only legal way is through war and even if the "masters" did acquire the slaves IF THE SLAVES REQUESTED THEIR FREEDOM then they are to be set free. 4)Again he only had 4 concubines and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM WAS SET FREE. He never even struck or shouted at his concubines. He talked to them softly the same way that he did with his wife.
Go read the ahadith. Why do you waste your time repeating lies? State which of these traditions and acts by Mohammed, al insan al kamil, you have the right to relegate out of sharia: 1. The sexual use of a female captive so soon after the loss of her family that his own bodyguard fears the woman will kill Mohammed in the tent. 2. The approval of using captives sexually by full intercourse with the intent to sell the women later. 3. The trading of women for livestock. Are you Allah? Do you have the right to make what Allah has declared legal to be illegal? Your problem is not with me, it is with your own religion. You are being deceived as a Muslim, when non-Muslims know your scriptures better than you yourself.
Sean Derry Do you blatantly ignore me. 1)Your first point makes no sense write it more clearly with correct grammar. 2/3) A concubine can request her freedom. You must also give it as a religious requirement. Concubines are NOT allowed to be raped like i showed you in previous verses. I definitely know my scriptures better than you. This isn't Christianity. Many of us are taught to memorize the Quran at a younger age and learn Arabic too. Also not to be rude but your just repeating arguments that i have already debunked. So peace.
He admitted the entire conversation is ambiguous... So he can extract any meaning he wants then. With the intention of finding a favourable outcome in the eyes of modern Muslims of course the conclusion would appear to be moral.
@@nusratzarin9970 There is no abrogation of the provisions that allow men to have intercourse with captives. The examples in Islamic literature do not imply the woman have been divorced either formally or otherwise, nor does it imply the women convert to Islam or give consent. The examples describe women stolen from their homes in raids and distributed among the Muslim soldiers. The Muslim men even asked Muhammad on advise regarding contraception (colitis interruptus) considering the women's sale value. Hence the men had no intention of even keeping the women. Clearly rape is being described and the word rape itself is absent because Muhammad and his men were morally ignorant and didn't recognise sexual abuse even as they commited it. Now you can try to spin what you want to defend your vile prophet.. I have had this conversation face to face with multiple scholars. My journey away from Islam is well and truely done. You can't admit the truth but I can. It's been admitted to me, face to face by scholars far more versed than you, that sexual consent was not needed at that time, and this is a new construct that "we" can't use to judge people of other times. This confession admits rape. Feel free to keep telling yourself what ever you must to maintain your faith.
@@nusratzarin9970 Wrong. Also ˹forbidden are˺ married women-except ˹female˺ captives in your possession.1 This is Allah’s commandment to you. Lawful to you are all beyond these-as long as you seek them with your wealth in a legal marriage, not in fornication. Give those you have consummated marriage with their due dowries. It is permissible to be mutually gracious regarding the set dowry. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran Here the Quran is giving conditions for more than 1 category. 1) Women captives , and 2) all beyond these. @@nusratzarin9970 Why would I watch your video or entertain you further. You see this comment you replied to is 2 years old now. I've studied Islam diligently with the aid of many scholars, not modern UA-cam hero's, who have admitted the terms of intercourse with captive women. As shown in the reasons of revelation. Now I'm supposed to argue yet again with someone who probably has about 5 minutes of study under his belt. If you can't accept it that's fine. Take from it as you will. I would like to point out the author of this video admitted that he and many scholars are in the same boat in having trouble accepting Islam permitted rape in these conditions. And it was only with the determination to alleviate that trouble they came up with long winded work arounds. That itself is telling. Post edit. @Sia Rizvi When did he say that slavery is okay...? It happened back then and that's a fact. He clearly said that today having slaves is not acceptable.
@@darkninja1693 She's a delusional progressive libtard. She refuses to believe that Islam doesn't allow the captives to be raped because she projects western slavery onto Islam and she also said Allah is immoral.
I'm confident that there have been people from beginning of known history who felt that slavery is morally wrong. Just because human cultures throughout the centuries had slaves doesn't make it acceptable. It must be condemned by all people for all time. Giving ancestors a pass on moral judgements only invites the possibility of such heinous barbarism to occur again.

This is another defending Islam talk. Put it simple and tell the truth that neither Allah nor Mohammed condemned sex slavery. Mohammed first kills these womens husband, son and fathers, and then take them as sex slaves. Why not just let them be. Also it wasn’t always slaves from war, they were also gifted and bought. Maria Kibti was a servant which Mohammed had sex with and his wives weren’t happy. So please stop all this nonsense and speak the truth. You are embarrassed of your prophet and Islam hence you have to defend it. Pathetic

I think the better question would be : If Islam is so kind why the hell does it allow woman to be taken as war booty? I encourage to search on Slavery in Islam , when you do , do not be misled by stupid argument : It was a norm and allowed in other religions as well, God 's word should not change with time because if they do , then God is no different from our politicians
zeeshan qadir God’s word does not change over time. But interpretations do. I am not a scholar of Islam, I am simply a Muslim that believes in Allah,His Books and in his Prophets and Messengers. I will explain slavery in Islam to the best of my ability. In the name of Allah,Most Gracious, the Most Merciful: As a Muslim, we are to follow the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad’s actions and that of his companions. Now the Quran is a book that was meant to serve as a final testament to mankind. It was meant especially to reform the customs of pre Islamic Arab culture known as the Days of Ignorance. Despite the radical change that Islam brought, the system it brought was one that would gradually alter social practices over time. For example, many of the Prophet’s companions use to drink alcohol outside of prayer. Later a verse was revealed to the Prophet pbuh to ban alcohol completely. It occurred over time.
zeeshan qadir As was the case of alcohol,Islam implemented a system that would slowly undermine slavery. Abu Bakr(best companion) frees Bilal ibn Rabah Who was an Ethiopian slave. The Shariah surrounding slavery is that:1)A free man can never be captured for slavery. 2) If captured in war, you could be a slave. Similar to POW in today’s world. 3)Already enslaved persons were allowed to be owned, but manumission was greatly encouraged because it provides for a greater reward from Allah. 4) Upon a slave’s conversion to Islam, he(r) must be freed immediately.
Prisoners of war during times of war were allowed to be enslaved primarily for the reasons of 1) Potential ransom deal 2) Potential Prisoner swap deal for caliphate citizens or Muslim troops captured
the fact that she is not the wife, and the fact that she has no choice .... makes that a sin in the bible... sex is for married man and women only... no exceptions... those people who did it outside of marriage are committing a sin

Islam declared a black slave as the first ever mozin (prayer caller) In the time of prophet Muhammad.thats the one noblest role as it can be among Muslims. @@silentstorm718 You know that the Arabs Muslims enslaved sun Saharan Africans for almost 1400 years, to the tune of 125 million slaves, with about 90% of the men castrated. Additionally, most of the babies of the pregnant slave women were destroyed, less the child becomes a liability and in the way of the free labor. This was done to ensure their descendants will not end up in the Arab society. In fact Saudi Arabia just outlawed slavery in the 1960s. Yet, they are still continuing till today.

Zack london Read the Quran, it doesn’t just command for the humane treatment of slaves, it doesn’t only say that they’re equal in every way to a free person, it commands Muslims to free slaves.
I moved on but I came back. Islam allowed slavery at first but later on in the revelation period it says to free slaves, so that gradually the system of slavery is abolished. As for sex with female slaves, it is not allowed unless her master marries her. She is different from a free woman in a way that her master does not have to pay her mehr.
Fahim, may Allah give you hidayah and to everyone of us. Aameen! Please read the history of slavery in the history and even today... See how the women are being raped and enslaved in the world even today.
I think the Quran is very clear on the topic of forcing sex upon war captives "And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, if they desire chastity, to seek [thereby] the temporary interests of worldly life. And if someone should compel them, then indeed, Allah is [to them], after their compulsion, Forgiving and Merciful." Quran 24:33
Slavery according to JESUS IN THE BIBLE You would think that Jesus and the New Testament would have a different view of slavery, but slavery is still approved of in the New Testament, as the following passages show. Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT) Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT) In the following parable, Jesus clearly approves of beating slaves even if they didn’t know they were doing anything wrong. The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. “But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given.” (Luke 12:47-48 NLT)
Allaah Says (what means): {But let them who find not [the means for] marriage abstain [from sexual relations] until Allaah enriches them from His bounty. And those who seek a contract [for eventual emancipation by purchasing their freedom from their owners for a price agreed upon] from among whom your right hands possess - then make a contract with them if you know there is within them goodness and give them from the wealth of Allaah which He has given you. And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, if they desire chastity, to seek [thereby] the temporary interests of worldly life. And if someone should compel them, then indeed, Allaah is [to them], after their compulsion, Forgiving and Merciful.}[Quran 24:33] The above verse is an order from Allaah to whoever is not able to marry to abstain from illegal sexual relations, like the Prophet said: "O young people, whoever is able to marry should marry, and whoever is not able to do so, he should fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual desires."Then the verse advised those who own slaves to make a contract with those slaves who seek such a contract to pay money in order to emancipate themselves. However, it is not permissible for a woman to commit Zina (adultery or fornication) whether she is a slave woman or a free woman, and it is not permissible for her master to allow her to do so; rather, he is obliged to prevent her from committing Zina according to his ability. This verse was revealed to clarify what used to happen at that time as some hypocrites, like ‘Abdullaah ibn Ubay ibn Salool, used to compel their slave girls to commit Zina so that they would bring them some money, so the verse prohibited them from doing so. Here's the explanation and real surah
I mean would u feel safe to leave your own daughter with a man that you dont know? He knows its wrong but its apart of his religion so he has to defend it. @@Sel12tThat got disproven recently. Most likely she was 14, based on historical trends of menarche. Which sounds like it's still young, but relative to 9 years old it's practically ancient.
You do realise that Slavery is mentioned more and even outside the War context in the Bible, though? To beat slaves after remaining day or 2 etc. Don't forget, this is all in hadiths, how can you know all hadiths are true, even Sahih? And many Hadiths also say how to treat them well. Yes, it's not good to have sex with her outside marriage, bad, as this is actually forbidden in Both Quran and Bible generally. The age thing is also in the Hadith too. Do you know that they married 10 year old only 200 years ago in England, they have laws for this, you know. Only 200. Ofcourse,i respect you're opinion, you have the right to it, but the age thing, it was anyways practiced 300 years ago.
@robotnitchka Its mentioned multiple times in al bukhari that she was 9 when prophet muhammad pbuh consummated the marriage. If a scholar disapproves age of someone regardless of how young. Then it's difficult to claim how authentic a hadith really is.

+Omar Black, Someone might say that while it is fine that Islam gives so many guarantees to captured women but why capture them in the first place?
So then why does a slave woman becomes free if she has a child with the muslim master? In other words to me it says the master says 'you served your purpose to sire my child as a muslim who will become a soldier of war, so your job is done slave woman'... I hate the word slave, master and captive, If I see that in any book specially allowing such act even if it's for certain reasons I still would find that problematic...
Omar Black Then call it "Abd" or "Mulkimeen" but it's because the child is considered legitimate, and the father has to spend so that she can raise the child properly, and he also has to participate in raising her.
If there was a war between islamic countries and the west today and the islamic countries win, can they take their women and have em as slaves and be intimate with em? Would that be applicable since the muslims of the past practiced it?
This is the internet, so what people should do is if they hear or see anything that could be questionable, they should research what is being said, the speaker, and perhaps who he or she is affiliated with. This is particularly true with matters of religion, politics, and social issues where there is often an effort to make something more socially acceptable than it might actually deserve. So, my advice would be that if a person is curious as to what Islamic law says about slavery, rape, apostasy, blasphemy, homosexuality, etc., go to non-biased, mainstream, secular sources for information. That would not include the Bayyinah Institute which published this video.
But there is the truth, which we find coming from the mouths of your own sheiks, imams and, of course, the koran, which is widely available. Unfortunately for taqiya.
Pls watch a lecture of Jonathan Brown about this topic, a lot of people seemed to be confused how Islam can allow slavery. He wrote a book on it and his explanation is very detailed and understandable
@BluckKraken I What is slavery? Is the Western definition of slavery applicable to the muslim definition? What did Islamic law change compared to before? When did muslims engage in slavery? When did the abolishment of slavery star and is it in the interest and spirit of the muslims to ban slavery forever? These are some question he engages in. I wouldn't do justice answering them but you can see in which direction it goes

Thank you sheikh for even studying this topic. I've been going through UA-cam to find what Islam says about "marital rape" I'm not married or been married yet, but "rape" itself in or out of wedlock is the worst fear of every girl, I've seen couple videos of well known sheikhs before I came across your video, they all said it as if a woman's consent isn't needed when her husband wants to have sex. I knew at this point that they were only talking their opinion, a man's opinion. Alhamdulillah I'm Muslim woman. And I can count on my religion for Allah hates tyranny.

I like how the Muslims in the comments write books to justify this cruelty. Allah easily could have said “keep peace and do no harm to anybody, nor keep them as spoils of battle.” There. That simple 🙄

@@lawramono4860 Mohammed sanctioned slavery. This means he encouraged it in his day, practiced it in his day, and his followers are to do so even today. Did you know FAR more African slaves died on the way -- on the way -- to lsIamic lands, than ever were sent to North America? Very, very few people in North America owned African slaves. Once the US was formed, it took only 89 years before people (with no Internet, no radios, no TVs, & many no access to newspapers) said slavery was outlawed in the Bible, and should be outlawed in the US. And over 600,000 young men gave their lives to end slavery in the newly formed US. As for Africa, slavery continues today, in part due to tribal beliefs, and in large part due to the sanctioning of slavery in lsIam.
Taha Niya The only difference is the Bible is against colonialism. Islam supports colonialism. What are you talking about? Anything bad the western countries have done is never mentioned in the Bible and is instead condemned. Islam allows colonialism if it’s it to spread the religion, it can very well be halal. Islam says they’re against slavery yet allow the most perverse type; Sex slavery.
@Sia Rizvi The problem here is that Islam claims to have objective Morals. So you can't say slavery was ok because other people did it too. Or it is objectively right or wrong. And since slavery is allowed by Allah I think Islam is a bad religion that doesn't come from a god.
@Sia Rizvi Don't get me wrong I respect you for that. But Islam claims to be perfect for all times and has perfect objective morals. But how can Islam be perfect when it has morals that even you think are immoral? Just like you I think all religions have good and bad but because it has all those bad things I don't believe it comes from a god but is simply human made.
"Sex with married slaves cannot take place"- Omer Sulleuman. However Quran says: (And also prohibited to you all) married women except those your right hand possess (Nisa). Man, you're not ignorant. Why increase confusion?
peace be upon you Surah An-Nisa’s ayat 24 states “Also forbidden for you are married women, except those who have fallen into your hands as prisoners of war.” because if a married woman was taken captive and her husband was not taken captive, then it was considered equivalent to divorce because she was no longer meeting with or living with her husband. thus she’s no longer married (she still has a period of grief like the widows receive) if both husband and wife were taken captive, then no one can have a relationship with her because she’s married and they’re able to meet each other
@@thefakebluejay5394 You saying that her husband not being captive with her is equivalent to divorce. 1)No, you may consider it "divorce", but that woman would still be faithful to her husband. That is Rape. Here's ref for that. Sahih-Bukhari : From the chapter of Selling Slaves Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: that while he was sitting with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) he said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! I don't understand y so many comment are angry at this. He already said to not view history with our current moral values @_@. Slavery and concubines were something common, the emperor of China had thousands, almost every man had a slave or a concubine, even in America. Islam gave rights to the slaves and concubines; slaves can no longer be beaten and can wear full clothing (a right reserved only for free people) and concubines cannot be raped or shared. "Same rights as a wife" means she cannot be shared or passed around, cannot be inherited to be his son's concubine, needs to be respected as his wife in terms of relationship within the household. Granted it's crazy to think how can anyone give consent after having their family killed in a war but we must understand that she had nobody to depend on anymore and that that was the social norm. Islam promotes freeing slaves and highly encourages people to free slaves. And now currently, it is against Islamic law to own a slave or a concubine. If muslims currently have slaves or concubines, they are doing so against the Islamic law.
Sir, please re-read your comment. History is irrelevant! You are talking about your Quran--the supposed words of Allah. Instead of giving rights, Allah would have prohibited as he prohibited the drinking of alcohol. Is drinking alcohol worst then owning a human being? Islamic Logic 101. There no way that you can justify owning a human being. It is immoral, inhumane, and repugnant. This is one of the reasons I left Islam. Islam is horrible ideology.
Okay, all the people saying that slavery-a major attribute of the history should have been forbidden altogether. Now, tell me islam also forbids fornication and raping. A woman whose husband, brother or father had been killed in the battle by the enemy. Would she want to sleep willingly with that enemy? There definitely would have been sex against her will, which is nothing but rape. Because having sex with a female slave has been sanctioned explicitly. I think that’s pretty biased, because the “7th Century Warlord” also said these things, back then: “Verily, women are the twin halves of men.” “No arab has any superiority over a non-arab, nor does a non arab have any superiority over an arab, just like a white has no superiority over a black, nor does a black have any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action” These things couldn’t even by contemplated till the 60s, while Muhammad (pbuh) preached this 1400 years ago 🤷🏻♀️
To all the African Muslims, the best remedy about the discomfort with Islam and slavery is to study African history. Our history didn’t begin 500 years ago when we first encountered the Europeans, it didn’t begin with the advent of Islam or Christianity in Africa, we have thousands of years of glorious history, great civilizations and empires. If the rights are so same then why not allow marry the slaves? Are they not equals? Is there the concept of purity and impurity with regards to chastity? What about marrying a rape victim?
Muntaha Amin in fact you can marry a slave if you free theme . they are not at same position as the others because they were in war n they wanted to kill theme .
slave has the right to get married according to Quran chp 24 verse 32 and they can even ask for freedom Quran chp 24 verse 33 Most of the scholars and jurists have said that According to Quran chp 24 verse 32 if they show desire to get marry their should not be hindrance put by the masters please also visit letmeturnthetables.com rape of slaves

If you are addressing non_Muslims in the West in order to explain or defend Islam, you need to make it more basic and not use Arabic (they dont understand and wont listen) and keep it simple.
+Sarah Bouachir This isn't for non-Muslims. If you need to explain or defend Islam and you are on the topic of rape, you have a way deeper problem that needs to be addressed.
Adnan Ilyas It should be for everyone and someone needs to defend Muslims. Sitting and ignoring whats happening in the world...choosing to stay quiet, THATS why we are having problems.
Sarah Bouachir No, that's not my point. My point was that talking about rape should not be a priority. If people are asking and attacking Islam in regards to rape, then there is an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. That other issue needs to be corrected or it won't really matter.
He is striving to justify slavery. He said that as long as you treat the woman whom your right hand possess (slave woman) as your wife, it is permissible to own a human being. Disgusting. Immoral. Repugnant. Inhumane. Sir, you cannot justify owning a human being. Islam failed. Condoning slavery is one of the reasons I left Islam.
its a shame that u have pride in that also Y’all aren’t looking from a cultural perspective and are acting ignorant as hell. Back then marriage wasn’t based on love but on political reasons or fulfilment of ones duty. So it’s a lot different compared to modern definition. I know you guys can’t understand this but at least acknowledge it.
@@minalhaque3287 Islam says that Muslim man can enslave and rape any non-combatant females who are captured during war (ayma malakat aymanukum). It is very clear. Islam clearly condones slavery. You cannot justify this. Islam has failed. Period!
What he’s not telling you is that the Islamic world was one of the last strongholds for slavery and sex slavery. The Ottoman Empire outlawed slavery and sex slavery in 1924 and the greater Islamic world later outlawed it in 1962. France outlawed slavery in 1804 and United States in 1865. You can’t really argue that slavery is humane, owning a human against their will is never humane. Also he is claiming that slavery is not allowed for Muslims in the modern day. He himself is reinterpreting the Quran for the modern day hence the Quran cannot be timeless like Muslims claim.
Based on the assumption that the recording of early Islamic history by Muslims and in the Quran are accurate, the following are the facts: 1. Muhammad not only owned and traded slaves, but accepted slaves as gifts without objection (e.g., Maria al-Qibtiyya and her sister Sirin, from an Egyptian governor of Alexandria) 2. Muhammad and his armies enslaved prisoners of war, which included women and children. He proposed marriage to some of his prisoners of war, now slaves, sometimes merely days after their husbands were killed in battle by his forces. 3. Muhammad never made an explicit and clear statement condemning slavery or stating that the intent of Islam was to progressively abolish it. 4. The Quran itself does not contain an explicit and clear statement condemning slavery or stating that the intent of Allah was to progressively abolish it. 5. Islam specifically allows for Muslim men to own female slaves and have sex with them (i.e., it is not considered zina and is 100% permissible) 6. Generic statements encouraging Muslims to treat their slaves kindly is NOT an explicit and clear statement that female slaves (concubines) can reject the advances of their master, therefore rape of female slaves is not explicitly forbidden in Islam. (Note: It is obvious to anyone that the whole nature of slavery is non-consensual so to argue that slaves have autonomy in any realm is a ridiculous and unrealistic assertion with no supporting evidence.)
Islamic rules dont care whether you lived in the past or present day. Islamic law does not change. Slavery is still halal today by islam but illegal by goverments. Surley islamic law comes first before government laws
That is absolutely true, yet today moderate Muslims try to say the opposite. If you read Quran 4:24 and the tafsirs, it's very clear what it means and what the classical scholars mean. Also, there are sahih hadiths that explain this verse, and no classical Islamic scholar would ever argue against these sources and the Quran.
Let's debunk lies of Omer Suleiman: 1) He said Sahabas having sex with female slaves cannot be a rape, but sahabas owned those female slaves after killing their husbands/ fathers/ brothers, do you think she will feel sex just by looking at bearded Momin? When wife is cursed if she rejects sex, men can have intercourse in any position, wife can’t reject, men can beat their wives if fear arrogance, Muslims don’t want to call this rape, but even if I give benefit of doubt, from no where this behaviour can be considered humane, picture it yourself, empathise it and see what comes to your mind? 2) He stated slaves can’t be beaten but there were occasions when Prophet compared that don’t beat your wife as you beat your female slaves plus Abu Bakr was beating his slave for losing a camel and Prophet Muhammad was enjoying that, so yes I know he did also say to one who was beating his slave to free him as recompense, that only proves his contradictory behaviour. Plus Omer Suleiman forgot to mention that in Fiqh this issue is discussed in details by Imam Shafayee, Imam Abu Haneefa, Imam Malik and only Imam Malik is of the view that if someone UNJUSTLY slaps or mutilate a slave then a slave should be freed(Neel al Awtar, Ar Rozatun Nadiya etc) Also there is an authentic hadith by Prophet Muhammad saying: When you beat your slave, avoid the face(Masnad Ahmed, 7279, Baihaqi, 18071) 3) Then he started talking about current situation of labour and compared that to treatment of sahaba with slaves, this is a false notion, first of all interestingly enough mistreatment of labour broadly happens in 2 types of countries: i) Poor countries (Muslim or Non-Muslim) ii) Rich countries with little human rights values(Majority of them are Muslim, like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar etc, so Ibadah, Saum, Zakat, hajj, umrah haven’t done anything to make muslims understand the importance of human rights) Secondly raping of labour is prohibited even in these countries, it’s not allowed, just like murder, theft, child abuse all are prohibited but still happens. But we are talking about something which Islam explicitly allows and give rulings on that, so this is a wrong comparison. 4) Then he spoke how Islam laid rules to abolish slavery, this is a joke seriously, Slavery was only abolished after Declaration of Human rights in 1948, Islam hasn’t played any role into that, in fact the last country to abolish slavery was surprise surprise was a Muslim one, Mauritania in 2006. And it is just an absurd claim, Prophet Muhammad used slaves in his transactions, as a mean to ransom muslims, enjoyed sex with slaves himself and allowed Sahaba as well, Sahaba used to buy female slaves, so sorry Omer Suleiman is lying here. 5) Then he mentioned that sex with married slaves cannot take place, WOW I think he either hasn’t read Quran or doing taqqiya, let me quote the holy verse from the glorious Quran: Arabic: Wal Muhsanatu Minan Nisai Illa Ma Malakat Ayemanukum (Nisa, 24) English: And (also prohibited to you are all) married women except those your right hands possess. Tafsir Ibn Kathir on this verse that on the day of Awtas some women were made slaves and Sahaba who apparently had better morals than Prophet were reluctant to have sex with these women while their husband were alive, so Allah revealed this verse(Sunan Abu Dawood, 2155, Authentic)
I'm hearing this explanation a lot that you can't compare today with the time of Mohammed, the governing laws were different and slavery was generally accepted, I get that...but where in the Quran does Allah condemn slavery? Trying to understand Islam.
+iCEL55 The Quran encourages freeing slaves. "Righteousness is not turning your faces towards the east or the west. Righteous are those who believe in God, the Last Day, the angels, the scripture, and the prophets; and they give the money, cheerfully, to the relatives, the orphans, the needy, the traveler, the beggars, and *to free the slaves*..." [2:177]
comb528491 Muhammad had slaves. the Muslim slave trade was more extensive then the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Qur'an (2:178) -"O ye who believe! the law of equality is prescribed to you in cases of murder: the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the woman for the woman" Qur'an (16:75) - Allah sets forth the Parable (of two men: one) a slave under the dominion of another; He has no power of any sort; and (the other) a man on whom We have bestowed goodly favours from Ourselves, and he spends thereof (freely), privately and publicly: are the two equal? (By no means;) praise be to Allah. But most of them understand not. Bukhari (80:753) - "The Prophet said, 'The freed slave belongs to the people who have freed him.'"
aran9901 Ka’b bin Malik narrates: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him, fainted for an hour. When he had a relief he said: “Fear Allah! Fear Allah! In the treatment of what your right hands posses (i.e. slaves). Cover their backs (i.e. clothe them), fill their bellies and be kind to them in speaking.” (Ibn Sa’d’s Kitab al-Tabaqat al-Kabir) Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him, listed three people who will get the double reward. One of them is; “Master of a slave-woman; who teaches her good manners, educates her in the best possible way (the religion), manumits her and then marries her.” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 2358) A large number of slaves were manumitted by him. Names of 22 of them are preserved in Kitab al-Tabaqat al-Kabir of Ibn Sa’d. 6 additional are recorded in Tarikh al-Tabari. Maududi after a detailed study said that number of slaves manumitted by the Prophet, may Allah bless him, is 63. His wife ‘Ayesha, may Allah be pleased with her, set 67 of them free. Another 70 slaves were liberated by al-‘Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, the uncle of the Prophet. The number of those manumitted by another close companion ‘Abdul Rahman bin ‘Awf runs into thousands. (See Human Rights in Islam by Abu Al-A’la Maududi. Chapter 3, subsection 5) Not to mention that it was in the Islamic world that freed slaves became kings.
comb528491 A slave is a slave, no matter how you try to dress it up, no matter how they are treated, they are still slaves. Any god or prophet that does not condemn slavery outright is a false god and a false prophet!
You are very good at explaining what the Muslim laws were at the time in long-winded and incredible detail. As someone who is a non-Muslim all I am interested in is what are the Muslim laws TODAY, not 1500 years ago. Trying to understand Islam.
+Anonymous The laws of my country a clear, slavery is illegal in all its forms including sex slaves and human trafficking. Rape is illegal in all its forms. Whenever a husband forces his wife to have sex with him when she doesn't want to it is called rape and she can press charges and have him convicted in the court of law.
+Arya A This is an absolute lie. Tens of millions of slaves were taken from Africa alone over 1400 years of Islamic slavery. The Balkans were stripped of the cream of their youth by systematic Ottoman slave harvesting up until the 19th century. Muslim societies were famous for their slave mercenary armies. Remember the Janissaries and the Mamluks? Islam has been one of the most persistent and enduring slaving cultures in world history. Muslims not only took slaves for their own societies, but they provided slaves for the European market, which was simply an offshoot of the established Islamic slave trade in West Africa. Now, we see dozens of Muslims here attempting to shunt blame onto the West and claim that Islamic slavery was so humane you can hardly call it slavery. In fact, it was cruel and involved trading, selling, raping, whipping and forcing labor from human beings on an enormous scale.
Sean Derry I've never heard of this before but just because all that happened, you can't automatically assume that Islam makes such acts permissible. People are not perfect, Islam is. In fact, there are still many things that people do 'supposedly' in the name of Islam. It pisses me off so badly, for example, the practice of female genital mutilation in Africa and in my culture, marrying outside your race is apparently a massive sin when it's not! Arrgh.
2:45 "presentism" 😂 we are talking about an all knowing god here why shouldn’t this god be held to modern standards but be viewed as a product of his time? He basically admitted that Islam is a man made religion and the Quran was written by normal humans from 1400 years ago.
Slave verse is a test for unbelivers “It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muḥammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific.1 As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allāh. But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding.”

One of the major issues with the whole subject matter is the fact that we really are talking about the Arab outlook on what AFRICAN life and happiness is worth. Even if the people are Scholars. I am Muslim and I know if the Issue was ARAB females, the idea of what scholars brought up would not exist.
He says don't use todays standards to judge the past. Apparently this book is the word of god so you are right, do not hold it by todays standards, hold it to moral standards much much higher. I'm pretty sure there are no moral grounds to which you should own slaves, unless of course you follow this book, in which case you can tell yourself it is ok even though it isn't
Why did God allowe slavery if it is so bad? Where is the hisrorical context if there is an all known god but of whom some rules cannot be applied anymore? I can tell you why: mohammed made it all up
If Muhammad made it all up then how did he know about the things discovered recently such as how did he know about the sea that doesn’t mix while he never travelled to it , how did he know about the atmosphere or the moon reflecting light from the sun . It’s easy to pin point a religion but what do u know about your religion . Learn to respect all religions .
Peace unto you. Where did he defend slavery? Where in the video? Did you even watch the video??? Where's your evidence? You come across as rude, insincere, and you seem to be in favor of being violent to others but you're trying to establish a moral high-ground. That is clearly contradictory. Calling people rude names because you think they're defending something which they're not! Do some research, and be willing to learn, or you'll continue to conclude falsely. With respect I write this because I know everyone in the world is my brother, and sister in humanity, and to be rude, and insulting others will not help anyone.
For all people The Quran says That you need to treat a slave like your brother feed them clothe them and be nice to them it's said in the Quran So in Islam Muhammed treated slaves like His friends and also in the Quran it says that Muhammed said Who ever hits an slave will never have a breath taken of Jannah ( Heaven )
There is a huge difference between calling someone treating them like a slave..what about others who treat their wives worse than slaves..islam is the kind religion.
now regarding captives of hunain 1. Introduction This article seeks to examine few Hadith reports in regards to the Hunayn (Awtas) battle. Our main focus would be in regards to the captive women. Critics have deduced from some authentic reports in Sahih Muslim, and in Jami at-Tirmidhi that the Muslim warrior men had sexual relations with pagan women in front of their husbands. The Hadith reports used for this claim are: Narrated Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri: “On the Day of Awtas, we captured some women who had husbands among the idolaters. So some of the men disliked that, so Allah, Most High, revealed: And women already married, except those whom your right hands possess… (4:24)” (Jami at-Tirmidhi volume 5, Book 44, Hadith 3016, Sahih (Darussalam)) And “Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported that at the Battle of Hanain Allah’s Messenger sent an army to Autas and encountered the enemy and fought with them. Having overcome them and taken them captives, the Companions of Allah’s Messenger seemed to refrain from having intercourse with captive women because of their husbands being polytheists. Then Allah, Most High, sent down regarding that:” And women already married, except those whom your right hands possess (iv. 24)” (Sahih Muslim Book 8, Hadith 3432) See reference section for a brief discussion on the claim the women’s husbands were present. [1] 2. What Led to the Battle of Hunayn? Before going into the details surrounding the women captives and what happened to them. Let us revisit some important details, why the battle of Hunayn occurred. The battle of Hunayn took place as a result of the league tribes who formed alliances to attack the Muslim community. The tribes of Hawazin and Thaqif (Thakefites) were using Awtas area for the purposes of attacks against the Muslims. Awtas was used as a place for military purposes. Ibn Sa’d (784 - 845 AD) reports to us: “THE GHAZWAH OF THE APOSTLE OF ALLAH AGAINST HUNAYN, AND THE SAME WAS THE GHAZWAH OF HAWAZIN … They (narrators) said: When the Apostle of Allah conquered Makkah, the notables of the Hawazin and the Thaqif moved from one side to the other. They assembled and rose in rebellion. Malik Ibn Awf al-Nasri had brought them together and he was then thirty years old. He ordered them and they brought with them their wealth, their WOMEN FOLK and their children. They MOBILIZED AT AWTAS AND THE SUPPORTERS WERE COMING TO THEM. THEY AGREED ON MARCHING AGAINST THE APOSTLE OF ALLAH.” [2] This is also reported in Al-Tabari (838 - 923 AD): “The Prophet had been staying in Mecca during the year of its conquest for only a forth-night when [he received the news that the clans of [Hawazin and Thaqif [were marching against Mecca and] had already encamped at Hunayn intending to fight him. Hunayn is a valley next to Dhu al-Majaz. Both the aforementioned tribes had assembled before [their match] after hearing about the Messenger of God’s departure from Medina, thinking that he was intending [to invade] them. When he learned that he had occupied Mecca, Hawazin marched against him [to Mecca] with their women, children, and possessions. Their leader was Mailk b. Awf from the Banu Nasr. [The clans of] thaqif joined forces with them and encamped at Hunayn intending to fight the Prophet. When the Prophet, still in Mecca, was informed about them he decided to march against them. He met them at Hunayn, and God, the Great and Mighty, inflicted defeat on them. God has mentioned this battle in the Qur’an. Since they HAD MARCHED WITH THEIR WOMEN, children, and flocks, God granted them as booty to His Messenger, who divided the spoils among those Quraysh who had [recently] embraced Islam. … When Malik [b. Awf] DECIDED TO MARCH AGAINST THE MESSENGER OF GOD, he took with his men their possessions, wives, and children. After making camp at AWTAS, the men gathered around him. Among them was Durayd b. al-Simmah, who was carried in a Howdah [Shijar]. As soon as he had encamped he inquired what valley they were in. When he was told that it was Awtas, he said: ‘What a wonderful place for CAVALRY! Neither a rugged hill, nor a soft lowland full of dust. …” [3] We read that the war was started as a result of these tribes forming to attack the Muslim community. Hence, the only option left for the Muslims was to defend themselves. Another crucial and important detail in these two reports show that enemies brought their women to aid the men in war. If they were innocent, they would not have come along with their husbands, knowing fully well that they were preparing to attack the Muslim community. Hence, these women were not innocent, their capture was legal. Even today, in the most democratic countries in the western World, women who aid enemy combatants would be jailed. 3. Historically on Captives Scholars were of the opinion that Muslim men and women captives were allowed to have mutual sexual relations. Although they were captured, that didn’t mean that the women were to be kept in a 4 meter by 4 meter cell for years without the hope of release or their physical needs not be met, be that clothes, food or any other matter. Prisons didn’t exist in those days. Hence, when women were captured for aiding enemy in war, they were allocated by the government to households to be servants. This was the most humane thing to do in early Islamic period. Prior to Islam, the women who aided enemy in war, were killed. Many of these examples are given in the Bible. [4] [5] Whereas in Islam, killing women is forbidden (Haram). [6] [7] Hence why they were allocated to be servants for a period of time before they would be set free. Another angle to understand this: some of these captive’s husband’s may have been killed. She may have had no involvement with the war, with her husband being killed who is going to provide for her or the kids? In those days the man was the breadwinner, providing the family with food, clothing and shelter. It would have been double the anxiety and hurt where she has lost her husband, and then find out after that there is no one who could provide them with money and food. Islam came to take care of the woman and her children’s needs. 4. The Rights of Captives Speaking on the Hadith on Awtas incident, as mentioned, some claim that the women were ‘raped’. We have over 100.000 hadith, there is not a single report where it speaks about rape of captives. If you were to re-read the Hadiths in the introduction carefully, nowhere is there in any mention of rape or if any sexual relation even occurred. In-fact, when we read further, readers will come to know from earlier reports that all the women were set free and went back to their families. Some other women were given a choice to stay with their men or go back to their families. Towards the end of the Hadith on Awtas event, it seems to mention that relations with women who were married is permissible. This part should not be taken literally. The captive-woman’s husband may have been dead, hence why the verse and the Hadith speak about marriage in this case. Classical scholars were of the opinion that marriage of captive man and a woman does not get annulled at all when imprisoned together: this is the opinion of Imam Abu Hanifa (699 - 767 AD), Imam Malik (711 - 795 AD). [8] [9] This was also the opinion of Imam Muhammad bin al-Hasan al-Shaybani (749 - 805 AD). [10] They were allowed to stay together. Their marriage is intact. Hence, any relation with them was forbidden. There is strong historical evidence that the men weren’t even with the women when captured. Al-Jassas reports: “Muhammad bin ‘Ali narrated: “When it was the day of Awtas, the (disbeliever) men fled to the mountains and their women were taken as captives.” (Ahkam al-Qur’an, Dar al-Kotob al-Ilmiyya, Beirut, 1994 volume 2 page 173) Furthermore, even when relations were allowed, the man had to wait a period of one month. This is attested many early Hadith and classical scholars. [11] [12] If as critics claims that the Hadith was about sexual pleasure, why did they have to wait over a month? The Muslim warriors were prohibited from forcing their captive-women to have relations. They were not allowed to just grab any women they like and have relations. Such acts were prohibited and it could get you executed in early period of Islam. There is an early report from the second Caliph, Umar Ibn al-Khattab (b. 579 AD) where a Muslim man had relations with a captive, when he was not allowed to do so. Umar dictated that he be given the death penalty. This incident is reported in Bayhaqi’s Sunan al-Kubra: “Khalid sent Dhirar bin al-Azwar in a party and they attacked an area of the tribe of Bani Asad. They captured a pretty woman, Dhirar liked her hence he asked his companions to grant her to him and they did so. He then had sexual intercourse with her, when he completed his mission he felt guilty, and went to Khalid and told him about what he had done. Khalid said: ‘I permit her for you and make it lawful to you.’ He said: ‘No not until you write to Umar (about this)’. (Khalid informed ‘Umar about this) and ‘Umar wrote back that he (i.e. Dhirar) should be stoned (to death). By the time ‘Umar’s message reached, Dhirar had died. Khalid said: ‘Allah did not want to disgrace Dhirar.’ [13] The fact that no harm was to be inflicted on captives, those who were entrusted to the household, the relationship between the captive and the man was mutual. Sexual intimacy was not allowed if there was no consent from the woman. [14] The Quran and hadith maintain and order Muslims to be kind and to feed the captives. Not harm them. “And serve God and do not associate anything with Him and BE GOOD to the parents and to the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the neighbour of (your) kin and neighbour who is not of kin, and the companion in a journey and the wayfarer and THOSE WHOM YOUR RIGHT HANDS POSSESS; surely God does not love him who is proud, boastful” - Quran 4:36
Well People these days think that their ancestors are so holy and never had any slaves themselves and forget that the concept of paid workers didn't even occur at that time. If the Bedouin's of the Arab desert were that sophisticated in their culture would there be any visible social progression today and If Allah didn't put the idea of freeing slave in Quran at that time, would the idea of abolishing slavery even exist today?.
@Realmatic Schisms That's the thing, you can own and free them but you can't go and kidnap and enslave them. the only exception being prisoners of a defensive war (offensive wars are forbidden). Slavery was and is a reality, and much like alcohol (it follows the same principle in the quran as it was removed gradually). so is slavery removed gradually. Now on the subject of war, what is the alternative? being left in the ruins to starve to death but free, being integrated directly as citizens but with no financial aid. Or the option to become "slave" to said person and person. I said option cause they had the right to refuse. Also when I say "slave" something must be kept in mind, sexual abuse is prohibited, physical abuse is prohibited, if they work they must be paid a fair wage as much as other and if you shelter them they must have the same condition of living as yourself. The only downside that i can think of is that they must stay with their caretaker (much like how children stay with their parents) Is slavery over today? it's not. yes the name is gone but the reality is still there. they live under the name of workers yet their wages are unfair, their wealth (and this probably apply to you and me) stolen under countless legislation, usury system and inflation of money but frozen wages. And that's not even getting to that situation of foreign workers paid at most a dollar a day and calling it a living.

It’s very simple people. A lot of stupid, violent people hated Islam and the Holy Prophet (saaw) 1400 years ago. So a lot of wars were fought. After the wars ended prisoners are war were taken so that they would not further wage war. But they were treated EXTREMELY well. They were given food and water. Allah (swt) rewarded Muslims who set them free. As far as concubines go.
The time is IRRELEVANT. We are talking about LAWS given by A GOD. Unless you are claiming the laws was given by Muhammad instead. The laws of a god are atemporal. So claiming that we shouldnt analyze the past through modern understanding of the problem of slavery is absurd. Owning of another human being is not MORALLY JUSTIFIABLE, no matter if it happened 10000 years ago or TODAY!
Everyone is here condemning the man. No religion ever condemned slavery and rape in the first place. At least he's trying to provide a reasonable explanation.
Islam was the first religion to recognize slavery as a social illness that needed to be addressed. Since slavery was deeply rooted in the society, Islam did not abolish it at once. Rather, Islam treated slavery in the same manner it treated other social illnesses. Islam followed the same methodology of gradual elimination in dealing with this social disease as it did with other social illnesses, for example: the prohibition of alcohol in three steps. "The very men who killed the husbands of these woman, get to sleep with them?" this is a question that perhaps some people found it weird Unlike what's portrayed by the west who treated the slaves really harsh, Islam teach otherwise in which is a must free them. Islam allowed wars on a defensive situation. Note that people who are not involved in the war must not be hurt, so when the enemies defeated and died, their wives and children are abandoned. This leaving them unprotected from bandits, many harms, and they will run out of foods which can lead to their deaths. Unlike others, Islam takes the captives into custody to protect them, clothes, and foods. The right of "Slaves" and "Servants" in Islam -treat their status same as the wife, *note that these women also has feelings, lusts and desires - and the children same as the children. -And once any slave girl bore a child, she could not be sold to anybody else and thus became a permanent member of the household. -Not one of you should [ when introducing someone ] say ‘This is my slave’ , ‘This is my concubine’. He should call them ‘my daughter’ or ‘my son’ or ‘my brother’. (Source: Ibn Hanbal, Musnad, 2 ,4) -they eat what you eat, the cloth from what you wear. Cannot burden the slaves in which beyond their capabilities. Even if you do, join and help them. (Source: Al-Adab al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari , Nr. 192./, Nr. 190./ Nr. 188). - release (set free) the one in captivity (by paying his ransom)." (Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Food, Meals, Volume 7, Book 65, Number 286)" again, it is a must to free the slave eventually, before the "master" death. even if he died, the slaves will be freed. Therefore Slavery is somewhat a must in certain extend to help the captives, but also forbidden to do it for own purposes.
What verses in the Quran call for the gradual elimination of slavery? Why did Mecca have a slave market until 1962, did they not read the Quran? Why did other Islamic countries only outlawed it in the early 2000 due to international pressure? If it wasn't for that it wold have continued. Listen to what your scholars say: "Slavery is a part of Islam...(those who argue that slavery is abolished are) ignorant, not scholars. They are merely writers. Whoever says such things is an infidel." Saudi Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan, member of the Senior Council of Clerics. But, you know better them a senior cleric from Saudi, and all the other Islamic scholars who never say it was to be abolished. You also missed this sahih hadith: "Do you know, O Allah's Apostle, that I have manumitted my slave-girl?" He said, "Have you really?" She replied in the affirmative. He said, "You would have got more reward if you had given her (i.e. the slave-girl) to one of your maternal uncles." Sahih Bukhari 3:47:765
Quran and Sunnah are our guiding light. I don't think Divine revelation would constitute raping, it is very disturbing and thank you brother for explaining it in details.
In past when a woman was enslaved, it was understood that she have to have intercourse with the master, same like it is understood by a mistress that she have to have intercourse with her sugar daddy. There’s no question of consent here.
U wrong & its against islam..according islam he can not intercourse without oppinion of women..she has same rights like wife...she will mom of master child
@Anastasia CW Give me referance from quran & hadith sohi bukari..i read more than u..do not try to be over smart ha ha ha yes there r many fake hadith which creat by munafik mullah
Anastasia CW In past we only had muscle power, means more men. Slavery was extremely important. Concubines will produce more men and slave men will do service for the society. But we can’t treat them as westerners did with chattel slavery. Only two categories falls in Islamic slavery. 1 POWs 2 slaves of non Muslims.
Thank you! This makes it very clear. Rape is not allowed in Islam. As if a world religion would allow rape whether within a marriage or as a concubine.
Making a lot of sense thank you brother. Lets see how many people in the comment section that have never read the quran from front to back and still decide that they are experts in understanding.
what i got was - you can't force yourself upon someone but you can have consensual sex outside of marriage with a slave taken in war and she then "has the rights of a wife" and no one else can be intimate with her to encourage her to be freed and married. i don't get what would encourage her to be freed and married here. "O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war.." Quran 33:50 There definitely needs to be clarity on this. sexual violence is still used as a weapon of war by militant and terrorist groups in the name of islam - they aren't hearing these pre-conditions and accountability remains low. Also 1 in 6 children in conflict zones are at risk of sexual violence by armed groups (Save the Children 2021)
@@drmosaddegh In Islam, we're told to love and respect our parents to the point that taking care of your parents is more virtuous than any religious obligation. How can a slave give you permission because a slave doesn't have a choice especially a prisoner of war who was obviously against you, so doesn't make sense, as a Muslim myself this seriously upset me when I found out, no imam or scholar can justify it to me within my heart even though I wanted it to be justified but it is not just Islam I know it was every religion and pagans did it in the past unfortunately so have to move on knowing the past was brutal and not as we see it today but I 100% still believe Islam is the only truth regardless of how I feel.
yes this is my doubt as well, bcz logically thinking a person will not allow his enemy men to do something to her, but the fact that seems more illogical are that most of these Capture people accepted Islam by their heart, and all those who were against you in War were unshakled and freely moving in the society but they didn't ever hurt the family members of fighters or tried to poison them which they could have done easily bcz they came to kill you. Even Most Accepted Imam of Islam i.e Imam Abu Hanifa was grandson of a Slave who was prisoner of war.
Indeed Allah is fair and he dose reveal things to his people closest to him, I already knew all these things without anyone telling me or seen it in the Qu'ran or Hadiths, so it becomes a confirmation to me when I hear it from a Muslim scholar or see it in the Hadith or Qu'ran, then I realised that it was Allah that revealed it to me, it feels too good to feel like you are one of the closest people to Allah.
I still dont understand whats humane about owning a person without their will.
it wasnt without their will.. they were prisoners and if they wouldnt be "slaves" they wouldnt have an income or wouldnt integrate into society.. this was a solution because without that system you would see that most women would sell themselves if their land was taken
The rules were set in a way where you couldnt take advantage.. it was just that the people later on started to neglect them

he is incorrect, this is in sahih al bukhari: "I entered the Mosque and saw Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri and sat beside him and asked him about Al-Azl (i.e. coitus interruptus).

@@Ida-Adriana you will find it humane when there is a apocalypse or world war.
A few examples:

If men are in fact not superior to women, why should their testimony not count ?
2) In Koran a punishment for zina for a women is to be imprisoned in her house until her death. While severe punishment for men is avoidable by repenting.
It does not make a lot of sense to have such a big difference in punishment for the exact same crime.
3) talking in general about the (authentic) hadiths, they also don’t seem as if Muhammad really valued man and women equally. But you won’t accept this point and I don’t want to find specific quotes

Yes, that means you don't know about your own history either.
well, the way Islam abolished slavery was more practical and successful then what we know of in the united states. and the reason why is say the united states abolishing of slavery was unsuccessful is because we still see set backs of it in African American communities. the issue of race still exists in America and examples of it are appearing everyday.
No, especially 2017. If he 'ended slavery' why not give them the status of free beings and equal rights under the law?
No, you're not.
why would you imprison women (who were no combat participants) in the first place? That itself is highly immoral
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith 4345)
While Islam does permit taking captives, it is neither a religious obligation nor something advised. If the nations of the world, however, agree not to harm the civilians or take them as captives and making them slaves, then Muslims should also follow the same as long as other nations do not betray. (See, Takmila Fath al-Mulhim, Dar al-Ahya al-Turath al-Arabi, Beirut, 2006 vol.1 pp.268-269)
If, however, other nations do not follow the agreements Muslims will have but no choice except to take their prisoners and find possibility for the release of their own people. This arrangement of prisoner swap has found success for Muslims in the Middle East lately and the case of Dr. Aafia Siddiqi also highlights its importance.
3.RIGHT TO RECEIVE EMANCIPATION
IF U WILL CAREFULLY READ THOSE VERSES IT CAN BE SEEN CLEARLY THAT IF THE SLAVE WOMEN ORE MEN DESIRES EMANCIPATION THEY CAN"T BE DENIED.
SO THIS PROVES THAT EVEN AFTER NO ONE COMES TO FREE THEM THEY CAN REFUSE TO HAVE SEX WITH THEIR MASTERS AND DEMAND FOR FREEDOM
PROOF:
The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) distributed the captive women of Banu Al-Mustaliq. She came to the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) in order to help her in paying her manumission.”
‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with him, continued
By Allah, as soon as I saw her at the door of my room, I hated her.
The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) invited him to embrace Islam, and he did.”
The Battle of Al-Muraysee‘ is considered one of the unique and blessed Battles in Islam.
Affan Khan if islam was really peacefull and claimed to be morally superior then it would have never allowed to take females and children as captives in the first place (like ban alkohol)
And why would a women have sex with those woman who killed their husbands, brothers, fahters in the first place? Thats just absurd
"Muh enslave women after war was absolutely normal and that's why we do it too" is not really an argument if you claim that your religion has the moral high ground"
CONCLUSION FROM THE ABOVE HADITH
1.THE SLAVE WOMEN CAN DENY HER MASTER'S SEXUAL ADVANCES AND DEMAND FOR EMANCIPATION(BUT SHE HAS TO WORK TO ATTAIN HER FREEDOM)
2.WE DON'T KILL THEM WHO COMES TO RANSOM THEIR CAPTIVES.
4. Women are NOT enslaved for sex
Following arguments prove that even though physical relations are permissible, slave-women are not treated like “sex objects” in the House of Islam as falsely propagated by anti-Islamic polemicists and orientalists.
4. 1 Cohabiting randomly with slave-women is not allowed
Firstly when there are women among the captives it is not that every soldier has the right to lay with anyone of the captive women.
In fact anyone were to cohabit with a slave-women before the decision of the leader about them and before their due distribution, he was considered an adulterer and was liable to be punished. Consider the following report;
Khalid sent Dhirar bin al-Azwar in a party and they attacked an area of the tribe of Bani Asad. Khalid said: 'Allah did not want to disgrace Dhirar.’ (Al-Bayhaqi’s Sunan al-Kubra, Dar al-Kotob al-Ilmiyya, Beirut, 2003 vol.9 p.177 Hadith 18222)
Had the taking of captives only been for sensual pleasure there was no need to instruct for such a harsh punishment. This proves women are not slaved for physical pleasure.
4.2 A slave-woman jointly owned by two or more men is unlawful for all of them
During the distribution, at times a slave-woman may be allotted to more than one person. In such a case she remains unlawful for all of them.
Ibn Qudama al-Maqdasi (d. 620 A.H.) writes: “It is not permissible to have intercourse with a shared slave-woman.” (Al-Mughni, Matkaba al-Qahirah, Cairo, 1968, vol.6 p.64)
The famous example of this is the case of Sayyidah Juwariyah bint al-Harith who before being manumitted and married to the Holy Prophet -on him be the peace and blessings of Allah- was given as a slave to Thabit Ibn Qays and one of his cousins.
In the English translation of a section of Ibn Sa’d’s work often used by various anti-Islamic polemicists the translator, S. Moinul Haq adds the following footnote to the narration with the above mentioned fact about Sayyidah Juwayriyah;
“When a slave girl was allotted to more than one persons, none of them could cohabit with her.” (Kitab al-Tabaqat al-Kabir vol.2 p.78 n.2)
This again kills the lie that women were taken as captives for physical pleasure. Had this been the case, multiple masters of a slave-woman would all have been allowed to seek pleasure with her. But this not the case!
4.3 When the slave-woman’s previous marriage remains intact
And once a woman is given in protective custody of a Muslim man, it may happen that she is actually unlawful for him right from the time of being captured as her earlier marriage may actually be intact. This is when a woman is captured along with her husband or when they are captured after each other and are brought together to area under Muslim jurisdiction. Muhammad bin al-Hasan al-Shaybani - the student of Abu Hanifa, the Imam- said:
“When the army takes a woman captive followed by her husband who is also taken captive sooner or later and either the woman does not have menses during that period or has had upto three menses but she is not taken out of the Territory of War before her husband is taken, their marriage shall continue.[1]” (Kitab Al-Siyar Al-Saghir- The Shorter Book on Muslim International Law- Translated by Mahmood Ahmad Ghazi, Islamic Research Institute, Islamabad, 1998 p.51)
So again, a woman is taken as a captive and she must be taken care of according to Islamic teachings about slaves, but she remains unlawful for her master and anyone else except her husband. This could have not been the case if slave-women were to be used as “sex objects.”
4.4. Command to arrange for the marriage of slave-women
Further Muslims are actually instructed to get the slave-women married. The Holy Qur’an says:
وأنكحوا الأيامى منكم والصالحين من عبادكم وإمائكم
“Arrange the marriage of the spouseless among you, and the capable from among your bondmen and bondwomen.” (Qur’an 24:32)
“So it is incumbent upon the masters of the slaves and the slave girls that those among them who have the ability to get married, their marriage should be arranged. It is purported to mean here that if they show their need and desire to get married, then according to some jurists it is binding on the owners to marry them off. But the majority of jurists have ruled that in such a situation it is incumbent upon the masters not to place any hindrance in their marriage and allow them to get married, because the marriage of slaves and slave girls cannot be performed without the permission of their owners … The gist of this all is that the owners are instructed here not to make any delay in granting permission of marriage to their subjects …” (Mufti Muhammad Shafi’, Ma’ariful Qur’an- Translation by Muhammad Ishrat Husain, Karachi, n.d. vol.6 pp.423-424)
So the owners are asked to arrange for the marriage of their slaves or at least not to stop them from doing so, if they wish to.
Narrated Abu Musa: Allah's Messenger said, "He who has a slave-girl and educates and treats her nicely and then manumits and marries her, will get a double reward." (Sahih Bukhari, Book 46, Hadith 720)
And once she is a free-woman and properly married then there is no question of being a “sex object” unless one considers marriage the same.
4.5. Pagan slave-women are unlawful for their masters
Further, not all slave-women are lawful for their masters.
855 A.H.) writes: “The imams with ruling have agreed that it is not permissible to have intercourse with pagan (slave-women),” (‘Umdatul Qari, Dar al-Ahya al-Turath al-Arabi, Beirut, n.d. vol.7 p. 103)
This is further evidence that slave-master relationship that makes physical intimacy lawful is in many ways akin to marriage.
In fact there are many others rules related to marriage that apply to this relation like combining two sisters or close relatives in this relation. For this reason Muslim jurists state;
“ … Intercourse with the slave-woman is (in certain ways) like the marriage contract.” (Al Mausu'ah Al Fiqhiyyah Al Kuwaitiyah. vol.11 p.300)
And this is the reason why the “imams of ruling” have sought evidence against intercourse with slave-women with the following rule mentioned in the Book of Allah;
وَلَا تَنْكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنَّ
“Do not marry (la tankihu) the polytheist women, unless they come to believe (in Islam);” (Qur’an 2:221)
Therefore, once again we have a point; had the purpose been free “use” of women there was no reason to make pagan slave-women who are so much averse to Islam in their beliefs as unlawful for Muslim men.

Ofc war will result in POWs and women and children of the enemy camps so they were taken in by the Islamic state and Muslim households to be part of the family and work to earn their keep.
This is in times of war and you could only have a slave through the result of war, so now in this day and age that's not necessary since there isn't a war.
So you see slavery in Islamic terms is necessary for solving post war problems.
loup Even now slaves exist, I feel like abolishing slavery outright would be a long shot even for Islam.
Ashrafur Ahmed I didn’t realize that castrating slaves “uplifts” them. Perhaps you need to be uplifted as well...
@@ashrafurrahmanahmed3666 why reform , why not abolish it completely?
@Prophet Muhammad watch farid responds channel videos on youtube, our brother farid has refuted all the anti-islamic claims
I have a few questions please:
+Zooney L
Sean Derry He explained that rape is forbidden. Did you watch the video? And could you site the source for everything you said?
State which of these traditions and acts by Mohammed, al insan al kamil, you have the right to relegate out of sharia:
So peace.

There is no abrogation of the provisions that allow men to have intercourse with captives.
Now I'm supposed to argue yet again with someone who probably has about 5 minutes of study under his belt. If you can't accept it that's fine. Take from it as you will.

zeeshan qadir God’s word does not change over time. But interpretations do. I am not a scholar of Islam, I am simply a Muslim that believes in Allah,His Books and in his Prophets and Messengers. I will explain slavery in Islam to the best of my ability.
In the name of Allah,Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
As a Muslim, we are to follow the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad’s actions and that of his companions.
Prisoners of war during times of war were allowed to be enslaved primarily for the reasons of 1) Potential ransom deal
2) Potential Prisoner swap deal for caliphate citizens or Muslim troops captured
the fact that she is not the wife, and the fact that she has no choice .... makes that a sin in the bible... sex is for married man and women only... no exceptions... those people who did it outside of marriage are committing a sin

In Shaa ALLAH you'll understand.
Slavery and slave sex is bad, PERIOD.
You can't be a Muslim then!
Especially sex slavery
How can this be normal in islam...since even looking at other woman is prohibited.. let alone sex
I think the Quran is very clear on the topic of forcing sex upon war captives "And do not compel your slave girls to prostitution, if they desire chastity, to seek [thereby] the temporary interests of worldly life. And if someone should compel them, then indeed, Allah is [to them], after their compulsion, Forgiving and Merciful." Quran 24:33
it refers to the incident of Ibn Salul
Slavery according to JESUS IN THE BIBLE
You would think that Jesus and the New Testament would have a different view of slavery, but slavery is still approved of in the New Testament, as the following passages show.
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)
Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)
In the following parable, Jesus clearly approves of beating slaves even if they didn’t know they were doing anything wrong.
And if someone should compel them, then indeed, Allaah is [to them], after their compulsion, Forgiving and Merciful.}[Quran 24:33]
The above verse is an order from Allaah to whoever is not able to marry to abstain from illegal sexual relations, like the Prophet said: "O young people, whoever is able to marry should marry, and whoever is not able to do so, he should fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual desires."Then the verse advised those who own slaves to make a contract with those slaves who seek such a contract to pay money in order to emancipate themselves.

Why take the women in the first place after a war? thats what I don't get
+Omar Black, Someone might say that while it is fine that Islam gives so many guarantees to captured women but why capture them in the first place?
Omar Black I honestly don't know lol, but Good question. I'll do research.
There is no such thing as a lack of bias when it comes to Islam.
But there is the truth, which we find coming from the mouths of your own sheiks, imams and, of course, the koran, which is widely available. Unfortunately for taqiya.

@Msvks rape is not allowed
Rape is not allowed in ISLAM...
@Msvks where do you get forcefully or as you say rape!....can you look at the book of Deuteronomy what it's been said about the captives
...or should I present it to u
@Msvks Deuteronomy 20-25
@Msvks what two wrongs ....what would you do when you win the war ....you left the woman and children's so that they may take revenge without any cautionary
I like how the Muslims in the comments write books to justify this cruelty.
Allah easily could have said “keep peace and do no harm to anybody, nor keep them as spoils of battle.”

Where is the fun in that? Surely better to have sex with captured women? (lol)
@@Realivangarcia Bible allowes slavery on innocent people and children! Quran allows only slavery of war prisoners and also encourages freeing slaves
I love how this is reminding me that God wants us to fight for justice of human being, not just a certain group of our people :)
Yet this god allows men to own females as property while humans forbid it.

Surah An-Nisa’s ayat 24 states “Also forbidden for you are married women, except those who have fallen into your hands as prisoners of war.” because if a married woman was taken captive and her husband was not taken captive, then it was considered equivalent to divorce because she was no longer meeting with or living with her husband. thus she’s no longer married (she still has a period of grief like the widows receive)
if both husband and wife were taken captive, then no one can have a relationship with her because she’s married and they’re able to meet each other
@@thefakebluejay5394 You saying that her husband not being captive with her is equivalent to divorce.
1)No, you may consider it "divorce", but that woman would still be faithful to her husband. She wouldn't want to get touched by strange men. So saying this is disgusting.
2)The mere presence of taking women and having sex with them is enough to make one realize something is gut-wrenchingly wrong.
3) Muslims also used to have sex with them and then sell them after doing what they wanted. That is Rape. Here's ref for that.
Sahih-Bukhari : From the chapter of Selling Slaves
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
that while he was sitting with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) he said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)!
Allah found it high priority to make pork forbidden but decided to regulate slavery and give slave owning etiquette.
The slave owner considers it to be his right to have sex with her even against her wish just life it is in the case of having sex with one's wife.
Killed father husband and blah blah, why they choose to fight then? And if the other side wins they would not enslave all the Muslims? “No arab has any superiority over a non-arab, nor does a non arab have any superiority over an arab, just like a white has no superiority over a black, nor does a black have any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action”

So what if he married a 6 year old? 1.8 billion Muslims on this planet and not a single one can claim they're better than him.
The Europeans traded with us, they saw an opening when most of our empires were in decline and weakened. Based on the assumption that the recording of early Islamic history by Muslims and in the Quran are accurate, the following are the facts:
1. Muhammad not only owned and traded slaves, but accepted slaves as gifts without objection (e.g., Maria al-Qibtiyya and her sister Sirin, from an Egyptian governor of Alexandria)
5. Islam specifically allows for Muslim men to own female slaves and have sex with them (i.e., it is not considered zina and is 100% permissible)
@UA-cam Funny Where do I find this? The hadith about umar ibn Khatab r.a.
I wish the last part was true in today’s times
@asadjavaid847 why ? 😂
He is wrong. Slavery still exists in places like Mauritania and the Arab world.
there is no war like that, ans so no one can be enslaved even in wars now, and who so ever does so is wrong don't blame islam on that
Slavery is still there in all around the world but with different concepts…
Let's debunk lies of Omer Suleiman:
1) He said Sahabas having sex with female slaves cannot be a rape, but sahabas owned those female slaves after killing their husbands/ fathers/ brothers, do you think she will feel sex just by looking at bearded Momin?
Plus Omer Suleiman forgot to mention that in Fiqh this issue is discussed in details by Imam Shafayee, Imam Abu Haneefa, Imam Malik and only Imam Malik is of the view that if someone UNJUSTLY slaps or mutilate a slave then a slave should be freed(Neel al Awtar, Ar Rozatun Nadiya etc)
Also there is an authentic hadith by Prophet Muhammad saying: When you beat your slave, avoid the face(Masnad Ahmed, 7279, Baihaqi, 18071)
3) Then he started talking about current situation of labour and compared that to treatment of sahaba with slaves, this is a false notion, first of all interestingly enough mistreatment of labour broadly happens in 2 types of countries:
i) Poor countries (Muslim or Non-Muslim)
ii) Rich countries with little human rights values(Majority of them are Muslim, like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar etc, so Ibadah, Saum, Zakat, hajj, umrah haven’t done anything to make muslims understand the importance of human rights)
Secondly raping of labour is prohibited even in these countries, it’s not allowed, just like murder, theft, child abuse all are prohibited but still happens.
5) Then he mentioned that sex with married slaves cannot take place, WOW
I think he either hasn’t read Quran or doing taqqiya, let me quote the holy verse from the glorious Quran:
Arabic: Wal Muhsanatu Minan Nisai Illa Ma Malakat Ayemanukum (Nisa, 24) English: And (also prohibited to you are all) married women except those your right hands possess.

+iCEL55 muhmmad had slaves , so why would it be condemned. muslim have enslaved millions of people for their caliphates
Qur'an (2:178) -"O ye who believe! the law of equality is prescribed to you in cases of murder: the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the woman for the woman"
Qur'an (16:75) - Allah sets forth the Parable (of two men: one) a slave under the dominion of another; He has no power of any sort; and (the other) a man on whom We have bestowed goodly favours from Ourselves, and he spends thereof (freely), privately and publicly: are the two equal? (By no means;) praise be to Allah. But most of them understand not.
Bukhari (80:753) - "The Prophet said, 'The freed slave belongs to the people who have freed him.'"
aran9901 Ka’b bin Malik narrates: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him, fainted for an hour. When he had a relief he said: “Fear Allah! Fear Allah! In the treatment of what your right hands posses (i.e. slaves). Cover their backs (i.e. clothe them), fill their bellies and be kind to them in speaking.” (Ibn Sa’d’s Kitab al-Tabaqat al-Kabir)
Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him, listed three people who will get the double reward. One of them is;
“Master of a slave-woman; who teaches her good manners, educates her in the best possible way (the religion), manumits her and then marries her.” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 2358)
A large number of slaves were manumitted by him. Chapter 3, subsection 5)
Not to mention that it was in the Islamic world that freed slaves became kings.
comb528491 A slave is a slave, no matter how you try to dress it up, no matter how they are treated, they are still slaves.
What would your answer be if I asked you that about the laws of your land? How would you put it in a video or UA-cam comment?
+Anonymous The laws of my country a clear, slavery is illegal in all its forms including sex slaves and human trafficking. Rape is illegal in all its forms. Whenever a husband forces his wife to have sex with him when she doesn't want to it is called rape and she can press charges and have him convicted in the court of law.
+iCEL55 It's not allowed now, in fact in the prophet's time, it was encouraged to free slaves. Eventually no slaves were left.
Arrgh.
this is surreal, its like I'm listening to someone from 1019AD rather than 2019AD. Of course hes going to downplay slavery.
2:45 "presentism" 😂 we are talking about an all knowing god here why shouldn’t this god be held to modern standards but be viewed as a product of his time? He basically admitted that Islam is a man made religion and the Quran was written by normal humans from 1400 years ago.
The Quran is a product of Satan and his angels. Disguising themselves as God.
Thank you for clearing this up.

All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding.”

i think the world actually needs a booklet for this. atleast a pdf file.for the people to learn something of what people are really doubtful of. one of the great works of the Sheikh undoubtedly.
+Muhammad Hamza Well, they're certainly not going to playing this on FOX News or CNN any time soon, so you're probably right.
One of the major issues with the whole subject matter is the fact that we really are talking about the Arab outlook on what AFRICAN life and happiness is worth. Even if the people are Scholars. I am Muslim and I know if the Issue was ARAB females, the idea of what scholars brought up would not exist.
You seem too smart to be muslim. I hope one day you come to your senses and leave this demonic religion.
That wasn't even about Africans, they were mainly Persians.
@Taha Niya so you are basically admitting that the Quran does not give rules for today and that you should not live as Mohammed did
Why did God allowe slavery if it is so bad? Where is the hisrorical context if there is an all known god but of whom some rules cannot be applied anymore? I can tell you why: mohammed made it all up
@Taha Niya so you cherry pick which are fundamental
If Muhammad made it all up then how did he know about the things discovered recently such as how did he know about the sea that doesn’t mix while he never travelled to it , how did he know about the atmosphere or the moon reflecting light from the sun . It’s easy to pin point a religion but what do u know about your religion . Learn to respect all religions .
yesthisiscat_ Mohammad is his companions never tortured a slave instead they saved those slaves from the torture of pagans .
Hes literally defending slavery...

There is a huge difference between calling someone treating them like a slave..what about others who treat their wives worse than slaves..islam is the kind religion.
now regarding captives of hunain
1. Introduction
This article seeks to examine few Hadith reports in regards to the Hunayn (Awtas) battle. Our main focus would be in regards to the captive women.
Critics have deduced from some authentic reports in Sahih Muslim, and in Jami at-Tirmidhi that the Muslim warrior men had sexual relations with pagan women in front of their husbands.
The Hadith reports used for this claim are:
Narrated Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri: “On the Day of Awtas, we captured some women who had husbands among the idolaters. So some of the men disliked that, so Allah, Most High, revealed: And women already married, except those whom your right hands possess… (4:24)” (Jami at-Tirmidhi volume 5, Book 44, Hadith 3016, Sahih (Darussalam))
And
“Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported that at the Battle of Hanain Allah’s Messenger sent an army to Autas and encountered the enemy and fought with them. Having overcome them and taken them captives, the Companions of Allah’s Messenger seemed to refrain from having intercourse with captive women because of their husbands being polytheists. Then Allah, Most High, sent down regarding that:” And women already married, except those whom your right hands possess (iv. 24)” (Sahih Muslim Book 8, Hadith 3432)
See reference section for a brief discussion on the claim the women’s husbands were present. [1]
Ibn Sa’d (784 - 845 AD) reports to us:
“THE GHAZWAH OF THE APOSTLE OF ALLAH AGAINST HUNAYN, AND THE SAME WAS THE GHAZWAH OF HAWAZIN
… They (narrators) said: When the Apostle of Allah conquered Makkah, the notables of the Hawazin and the Thaqif moved from one side to the other. THEY AGREED ON MARCHING AGAINST THE APOSTLE OF ALLAH.” [2]
This is also reported in Al-Tabari (838 - 923 AD):
“The Prophet had been staying in Mecca during the year of its conquest for only a forth-night when [he received the news that the clans of [Hawazin and Thaqif [were marching against Mecca and] had already encamped at Hunayn intending to fight him. …” [3]
We read that the war was started as a result of these tribes forming to attack the Muslim community.
3. Historically on Captives
Scholars were of the opinion that Muslim men and women captives were allowed to have mutual sexual relations.
4. The Rights of Captives
Speaking on the Hadith on Awtas incident, as mentioned, some claim that the women were ‘raped’.
Al-Jassas reports:
“Muhammad bin ‘Ali narrated: “When it was the day of Awtas, the (disbeliever) men fled to the mountains and their women were taken as captives.” (Ahkam al-Qur’an, Dar al-Kotob al-Ilmiyya, Beirut, 1994 volume 2 page 173)
Furthermore, even when relations were allowed, the man had to wait a period of one month.
This incident is reported in Bayhaqi’s Sunan al-Kubra:
“Khalid sent Dhirar bin al-Azwar in a party and they attacked an area of the tribe of Bani Asad. Khalid said: ‘Allah did not want to disgrace Dhirar.’ [13]
The fact that no harm was to be inflicted on captives, those who were entrusted to the household, the relationship between the captive and the man was mutual. Sexual intimacy was not allowed if there was no consent from the woman. [14]
The Quran and hadith maintain and order Muslims to be kind and to feed the captives.
What do you mean by set free?
By marriage or conversion? This isn't freedom
thanks now i finally understand
If it's a product of time and place. Quran is meant to be the perfect book with no wrongs though
Well People these days think that their ancestors are so holy and never had any slaves themselves and forget that
the concept of paid workers didn't even occur at that time.
The only downside that i can think of is that they must stay with their caretaker (much like how children stay with their parents)
Is slavery over today? it's not. yes the name is gone but the reality is still there. they live under the name of workers yet their wages are unfair, their wealth (and this probably apply to you and me) stolen under countless legislation, usury system and inflation of money but frozen wages.
And that's not even getting to that situation of foreign workers paid at most a dollar a day and calling it a living.
Quran a perfect book. Lol. that really funny.
@Realmatic Schisms Ok, first name one war. one offensive war that muhammad(pbuh) waged.
@Realmatic Schisms Also name the event where "muhammad permitted his followers to rape their female captives while they were still married."

They do defend it LOL.
Well said, everyone should watch the full video
Everyone is here condemning the man. No religion ever condemned slavery and rape in the first place. At least he's trying to provide a reasonable explanation.
Rape is not allowed in Islam whether is marital rape or not
Islam was the first religion to recognize slavery as a social illness that needed to be addressed.
"The very men who killed the husbands of these woman, get to sleep with them?"
this is a question that perhaps some people found it weird
Unlike what's portrayed by the west who treated the slaves really harsh, Islam teach otherwise in which is a must free them.
The right of "Slaves" and "Servants" in Islam
-treat their status same as the wife, *note that these women also has feelings, lusts and desires
- and the children same as the children.
(Source: Ibn Hanbal, Musnad, 2 ,4)
-they eat what you eat, the cloth from what you wear. Cannot burden the slaves in which beyond their capabilities. Even if you do, join and help them.
(Source: Al-Adab al-Mufrad Al-Bukhari , Nr. 192./, Nr. 190./ Nr. 188).
- release (set free) the one in captivity (by paying his ransom)."
(Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Food, Meals, Volume 7, Book 65, Number 286)"
again, it is a must to free the slave eventually, before the "master" death. even if he died, the slaves will be freed.
Therefore Slavery is somewhat a must in certain extend to help the captives, but also forbidden to do it for own purposes.
Alcohol was completely abolished, slavery wasn't, why?
You also missed this sahih hadith:
"Do you know, O Allah's Apostle, that I have manumitted my slave-girl?" He said, "Have you really?" She replied in the affirmative. He said, "You would have got more reward if you had given her (i.e. the slave-girl) to one of your maternal uncles." Sahih Bukhari 3:47:765

"O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war.." Quran 33:50
There definitely needs to be clarity on this. sexual violence is still used as a weapon of war by militant and terrorist groups in the name of islam - they aren't hearing these pre-conditions and accountability remains low.
Also 1 in 6 children in conflict zones are at risk of sexual violence by armed groups (Save the Children 2021)
2:45 But I thought the quran and the example of muhammad was a perfect example how a human should act for all time?
it's about time and consensus. The prophet would deal with different problems, and act different because the situations are different than that time.
For people who were killing and slaving black people because they were black, you have no right to talk about such issues.
Haqim Al-Arabia yes, if the man was alive at the time of the prophet. 14 centuries ago.
@@drmosaddegh In Islam, we're told to love and respect our parents to the point that taking care of your parents is more virtuous than any religious obligation. Unlike you, we don't throw our parents into old people homes etc where they live there life in misery.
