G37 EPS PCV Delete - 10,000 Mile Update

- Опубліковано 13 лют 2018
- After going through some old comments, I decided to provide an update on the EPS PCV delete kit on my G37. There were a lot of differing opinions related to the kit and its functionality. I have had it installed for almost a year and about 10,000 miles now and wanted to provide an update. I wanted to see how much oil if any got on the engine or surrounding components. I also wanted to see how clean the TBs stayed. After inspection, I am very satisfied with this kit and it is definitely doing its job. I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks to EPS for making a direct fit PCV delete kit!

In the old days (60's/70's), we used to mod the crank vent systems and just let a hose hang down from the engine. We attached the hoses to look OEM and not one inspection station ever caught the mod and our cars ran awesome.
I honestly believe that shii was illegal lol 😐
That's not all we did. We used to 86 all the pollution hoses, coffee cans (yes they used coffee cans on brand new cars), and deleted the hell out of everything including cats. Nobody cared. You needed an inspection sticker, they put one on. I remember one station that the guy used his own car for the emissions test for customers vehicles. It was easier for him. lol... Life was very simple back then. @@Hondacbr600rrish
Omg you are so old my dad wasn’t even born yet 🤯🤯🤯
How was life back then when everything was colorless? Thank god I am born in the 2000s 👶
@@AltimaV6SportsCar Hardly colorless. Lot's of freedom to do what you want. Great music. Very happy to have been born when I was. Today everyone's so uptight. Cancel this, offended by that. Terrible.

Please keep videos coming has been a great help to me
Woah, thank you for the straight to point video, awesome results, awesome video!
All of your vids are so informing bro! Thank you! Big fan of your chann! I have an 08g35s sedan 6spd! K&ntyphoon CAI, STILLEN HFC, Megan’s racing YPIPE, and MUff delete, my G is savage !love these cars
Im more fond the catch can modification. Keeps oil contained, then u can recycle it later
Love the videos. Keep them coming
This was actually why I'm here. I wanna know if the oil caught in a catch can, can be recycled back into the engine? If it can, then it's the best.
@@emmy7848 I wouldn't reuse it. The catch can catches burnt oil as vapor, which obviously has already been burnt and doesn't provide the same properties as new oil.
Very informative. And he’s easy to follow great guy.
🤙🏿 keep it up bro. Good content flowing smooth
Just in time right after I asked you about it on the gram! 👍
Even better, a piece of rubber hose, leading horizontally about 20" to the back or the motor, then down about 15" to the bottom of the motors. This excessive length allows the pressure/vapor to cool and dissipate... toy might get a drop or two of oil.. occasionally, the the long length of tubing allows cooling of the vapor. thus the oil easily clings to the inner wall of the rubber hose. Change the hose every 1 million miles.
I love your videos, took my g37 ownership to the next level, like having a big brother with every move.. I've done a handful of things you've done following your videos and a happy subscriber.. just regarding this pcv delete.. I'd like to understand the full benefit of these silicone intake tubes vs the maintenance: I get more unrestricted air this more response and horsepower? (And a better sound and flashy looks)??
The G37’s use the new(but no longer used in the new turbo motors) VVEL and according to Nissan the TB flaps are always open and the intake valve controls the amount of air that enters in the engine. Definitely helps with response since the whole intake system is full of air. Low RPM’s like idling the valve hardly opens and then at high RPM the intake valve opens a lot more and for a longer duration of time for more air. The TB’s are there Incase there’s something wrong with the VVEL system and I’m not 100% sure but I think it also acts as a vacuum for the brakes maybe i dont know.
Well I’m sold on it now. Thanks for the 10k update it really helped me decide. And I agree clean those filters every oil change. Maybe get a couple of extras to use when you’re short on time so the others can fully dry.
too bad you got convinced about this nonsense but hey mechanics also need jobs too especially those expensive jobs of replacing head gaskets or engine rebuilds extra!

Oil catch can with the filters, works awesome!! Filters will last forever!!
the 68 mustang I had . way back round the late 80,s to the mid 90,s I had that car here in new Zealand. I,ve purchase some new alloy rocker covers with the mustang logo. [ I went to sacramento to get a steering box exchange. my old one was had it. so at the time ,mustang plus had recon ones with the same ratio of the gt350 for better steering. plus I had a holiday.many tried to get me to stay.even the custom officers. so that's when I brought the covers.]. back to the breather. I put on metal rocker cover breathers. little holes in the bottom. I never had no problems of oil dripping on my covers. not that I recalled. but looking at those breathers that was put on your g37 ,it will get dirty with oil over time. btw , any thing that blows out. things drag out with the air aswell. I did clean my breathers everytime I did oil change . sometimes I took the pan off. after that car I had a r32 skyline. now I got a 2005 gt350 skyline. [g35]. it looks like motordyne g35,s even black
Nice vid, you original vid was something I referenced before installing mine. What I ended up doing was running some rubber lines from the PCV outlets to above the wheel wells. My HR motor tends to allow some condensation out of the crankcase, adding longer lines allows the condensation to collect in the lines at the lowest point along with any oil that comes out, I made those areas removable for easy cleaning. Doing that as a super cheap mod has helped keep the filters clean and the whole system working beautifully. Keep on rocking, my G brother!
Philip Samuelson do you have any pics of your install? Thinking of trying this to get rid of smell.
@@JayBBII Sorry for the delay bud, I will see if I can send you some pics this week. I'm going to clean it up here this summer, it's not super pretty right now, but it's functional.
@@JayBBII Hey bud, send me a message or an email account, I can send you the pics of my install, or hit me up on Instagram @ theautomogul
Thank you for the video, nice update after 10k miles, Let me tell you I have done the same to my car and im going to share what i done, instead a filter I put a catchcan so the breather dont drop oil in the engine or the ground so the vaporized oil is condensed inside the can, is a little more environmental friendly and less messy, that is my setup you use what works for you.
Question: you removed the PCV valve? or just the hose setup?
Thank you for that info I have a g37x 2010 engine light come on for build up throttle body or air leak. will this kit solve that problem and how can I clean the system of that problem?
Nice Video. You considered putting filters in small Tubes ?? Same siametrer as filters. Would make it ez clean mode :)
Good sir how can I do it on my BMW e46 318ti n42, I'm having the problem were my BMW ccv does not vacuum causing a hyro lock caused of the blowby pressure, once the vehicle is hot it wouldn't start, until its cooled down or if i open the oil filler cap, and release pressure it starts up, any help will highly appreciated, thank you.
Nice update...and info . By the way...are you going to ZDAYZ again this year ?...I'm looking forward to it. I'm the guy with the white 2017 370z Nismo...we talked a few times at the hotel.
I have a 2013 G37 coupe and it got flood damaged and both the driver and passenger circuit boards got damaged. Do i have to order the same exact one that I have on it or can i use one with a different product number? Because I noticed that when you installed the red seats you just clipped three of the cables back and that was about it. Did you change the seat control boards off camera?
Hey brother! I watch a lot of your videos! Really appreciate all the help. But I’m here for a suggested video. Do you mind doing a quick video of how to clean the PCV filters? Do you clean the tubes or what??
hey brother, you dont even need a filters there, the engine is not sucking, its pushing..... educate yourself before blindly do nonsense mods and ruin you car.
Did you delete the hose that goes from one side of the valve cover to the other valve cover. The hose in front that is right behind the harness?
Great vid,
What about the car computer? Does it detect it? I mean there is sensor for the air that goes to the manifold from the pvc?
Regards
Did you notice any extra fumes when running the AC and it's not on recycle? I've heard the fumes get caught under the hood and can be smelled when at a stop.
I noticed it on mine when the car is warmed up you get a pretty quite a bit of fuel vapours with the vehicle stopped at idle.
What is the "kit" you are referring too?
What are your thoughts on a 3 port catch can? I'll have two "inlets and one out" the out I'm just going to run it down to the frame a zip tie it. Your thoughts?
Maybe the kit you are using might be better. I'm running a supercharger on my v6 mustang.
Thanks.
If you run the pcv line (tube/hose) in FRONT of engine air filter, it will not smell and will not gunk up the throttle bodies.
I see that fast trak sensor🤣. Going really fast ey? I have stillen gen3 cai. Would doing the eps pcv delete be beneficial or really doesn't matter? Watcha think? I appreciate you! Been here since the start 😁
Michael Nguyen it will be beneficial for anyone that does it. Having an aftermarket intake won’t be any different 🤓
I did the same set up on my G for like a couple months got tired of the oil soaked filters. So I just decided to do a catch can.
Eks Is where can you buy a catch can ? And does it just catch oil and then you empty it??
@@adamabdel-rehim6450 it catches oil water fuel whatever whatever the blowby throws in you can buy at ebay amazon make sure you get it with a baffle and bronze filter or just a filter will do
Have you put in a catch can upgrade since this, And how's the car runnin?
Hi team
I have infinity g37
Engine idle is not good.
I changed 6 coil and 6 spark plug.
Still after some time idle is not smooth.
One of the spark plug full black.
I think Oil is comming through breather tube.
How to solve this issue.
Is it due to bad pcv
I love all of your videos......keep up the good work. Fuk them haters.
Doing this on a na engine probably isnt a bad idea but for a boosted application id probably run a catchcan set up
Why? What is the difference?
Thanks
@@duasobA boosted applications tend to create more blow by and crank case pressure than na cars
I have a Subaru non-Turbo legacy 2001--I have searched high and low and only found one person who has given me information on the boxer pcv delete - this was for a racing rallycross .I am keen to try it out but it is my only vehicle and daily runner .Do you have anyone who has done a pcv delete on the Legacy /forester /outback 2.5i engine - around my model being 2001.Thanks in advance-Brad
I use 2006 Chevy Cobalt and my mechanic does not know where to locate the PVC valve..It is very obvious that is my car problem..can you or anyone please help...
I'm curious if you've got sludge build-up inside the engine since you're relying on a little bit of positive pressure to evacuate the crankcase instead of applied vacuum like the PCV system uses. No doubt a little bit of the vapors are getting to your filters, but how much is getting left behind inside the crankcase?
This is the question I want to know ?
much more then it was on those lil filters, He due to major oil leak very soon
@@1987yuksel you dont wana know, just keep you PCV and make sure it works properly and sleep easy.
you all probably dont care but does someone know a way to get back into an instagram account?

@Marc Cruz instablaster ;)
I put 9k miles on my G with the kit as well with no issues. The only complaint I have is I smell a little oil inside the car when the fan is on bc it vents to atmosphere. But if that’s it I’m all good 👍🏼
Cole O'Donnell If you set the air to recirculate the air that's already in the car then it stops the Oil/Fuel smell ;)
why not add a catch can?
Did you remove or not, the pcv valve while installing filters
PCV valve is removed
Did the AN fitting that deletes the pcv valve have any sort of check valve on it or is it just hollow/open? Thanks
It's hollow.
@@kova_motive thanks for the reply. I actually DIY’d my own version of the kit using the oem pcv valves/hoses. I wonder if I should be drilling out the spring in the oem pcv valve to mimic those fittings
I hear this weird moan or hum sound when i let off the gas between shifts when my car is cold... I feel like the sound is coming from this system but i cant really tell.
What’s the best way to clean those tiny filters? Or where can we purchase replacement filters??? Thanks in advance!
I buy brake cleaners to clean my filters. It works pretty good. No problems whatsoever.
Dan Hack000 thanks for the advice man!
I'm about to buy this kit for my Q50 but I'm scare of screwing up my engine. Any advice?
Do it anyway.
Don screw up you engine sir, if you realy want to this kind of modification do it the right way and get oil catch can and get the good one with filtration incide not just an empty can!
Some catch cans are like 15 bucks decent ones with baffles and copper filters i would reccomend it just because blowby is also fuel and maybe some condensation and to prevent burnt oil and sludge i prefer it be in the catch can my 2 cents
thats the right way to do it sir, but make sure by doing this you dont remove you pcv valve because if you do then are not doing much better then those dudes up there.
Why would you do this instead of catch cans
cheaper
@@Drtyandy and wrong too. At least the catch can is the right way to do it!
An oil catch can would easily solve your problem
i just put it in my toyota liteace 91 ..
bad move, its there for a reason but since its 91 who cares its time for new one anyways :D
Anybody tried to drill out the "valve" inside an OEM pcv valve, running a hose to some other coupler that will accept a filter? I have a pristine 2007 Matrix with the original 1.8liter and simply don't want to throw waste oil blowby into my combustion chamber and could give a rats rear end about the supposed "clean air" BS. We were told that ethanol would be good for the environment but they forgot about all the chemical waste used to make the alcohol/gas mixture and what it has done to water tables......also we have already sacrificed way too much for the "God" at the EPA so to hell with it, I'm gonna make my 37000 mile 13 year old Matrix run as clean as at all possible and see just how many miles someone can get out of a known reliable engine without running crap through its injectors and combustion chamber. I would really like some info on a threaded device I could use to simply replace the oem pcv valve, run tubing into another device that would allow for the attachment of a small breather filter. ANYBODY have any ideas toss em out. I have done the "drill out the valve" trick and that does seem to work but I need to find the caps to close off the rest of the original set up and also need to find out where and how to find the filters and the device I could attach the new hose into to then allow for that filter. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
So do you not answer your viewers questions?
What's your question? I try to answer any questions I see.
Looks like an engine bay fire waiting to happen. You should use a oil catchcan.
Id rather install reservoirs instead of using filters.
DIY or are there actually some you can buy?
CWorksDesign got pictures? Or a link?
CWorksDesign thanks for taking the time to respond! 💪🏽
@CWorksDesign way too expensive! $450! No thanks
Dude just install an oil catch can
I love the smell of oil and gas fumes in the morning, it smells like victory. Real men just suck up the fumes and keep on kicking ass, pollution control is gay. We don't need no stinking PCV valves.
Actualt those lil filters are the stinking ones not the pcv valve :D !!! Well if you dont mind the smell of oil and having to do gasket replacements and later rebuild engine may be! Yes we dont need pcv valves.
POV delete? Just delete the motor problem solved
