Dining Experience On The MSC Splendida 🚢
Here's my take and my friends agree. If you have been tell me your thoughts in the comments!
1️⃣Restaurant Deck 5 & 7: I'd recommend eating at the designated restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. You get three-course meals that are nicely plated and enjoyable, though portions are a tad smaller. They dish out what's on the buffet plus there are some exclusive options. The service is top-notch, and it's not as jam-packed as the buffet. Your designated restaurant and time are listed on your MSC room card.
2️⃣Buffet Deck 14: The Buffet is a feast for the eyes and the belly, though getting a table might need a bit of patience. There's a ton of cuisines and stations, from halal to veggie. You can eat till you're content, but try not to waste. They offer water, filtered coffee, and tea on tap, plus juice at brekkie and dinner. And don't skip the pizza station, it’s the bomb!
3️⃣Flavour: Some dishes might need a little kick, so don't be shy to ask for chili or check the stash of South African sauces scattered around the buffet. And at the pizza station, they've got crushed chilies and chopped garlic for extra oomph.
4️⃣Deck 14: Keep an eye out for a midday snack sesh on Deck 14. Burgers, hot dogs is what I saw during lunchtime.
5️⃣Pizza MSC knows their pizza! You can grab a box to go for a tasty snack whenever you please. Especially if you heading to chill at the pool or going back to your room.
6️⃣Drink Deals: If booze isn't your thing, go for the soft drink package : 10 drinks for about R300 +, which also covers ice cream. If you're into cocktails and such, Get 18 vouchers for about R1200 + or check out other drink packages to suit your fancy, they vary in price.
7️⃣Snacks : Pack your fave snacks, chips, sweets, biscuits, nuts, and dried fruit-for chill moments.
8️⃣Stay Hydrated: Carry & fill up your water bottle at the filtered water stations.
🚢Overall, dining on the MSC Splendida is a treat with tons to tuck into. While some dishes could use a bit more flavour, I found myself returning to the halal corner. The food was fresh especially the fish and the divine pizzas. There's room for improvement, sure, but hey, feeding over 3000 hungry cruisers is no easy feat! So, dive in and find your culinary bliss!
