Funny thing. I cruised msc Meraviglia a week ago, June 2023 and I enjoyed the waves restaurant. It’s one of three restaurants I could go to for no extra charge. And I also enjoyed their marketplace buffet. I think some people can find anything to complain about. For me and my girl to cruise for a week to the Caribbean for under $100.00 each a day on a ship like that is a no brainer great deal. Friendly staff. Didn’t bother getting wrapped up in a dinning package.
Thank you Thank you we are definitely food people for cruising & want to try MSC but have been super nervous about the food this helps so much in our planning
@@GroundedLifeCruises I also wanted to ask.... by any chance have you guys done a drink package with MSC? I've been looking this up on their website and it looks very confusing. 🥲
We very much appreciate the candid reviews. I understand that most vacations are what we make of them, but the level of mixed reviews on MSC is kinda scary! We will be sailing MSC Meraviglia in May (NY to Bahamas) and we are looking forward to just relaxing and recharge the proverbial batteries! Thanks again!!
@@magami276We liked it enough to bring a group of 15 back to MSC Meraviglia in August. I would recommend eating at Hola Tacos on embarkation if you are sailing the MSC Meraviglia. We are not the type to fight the crowds at the buffet. You won't be hungry, but the food is ok in main dining and buffet - nothing to write home about. They do make really good bread and they have really nice cheeses in the buffet.
Thank you for sharing. Great video. We'll be sailing with the MSC Meraviglia in July. We're considering purchasing a Specialty Restaurant package. Is there anyway that you can view the menu before boarding? Also, are you able to order something that's not in the package and just pay the difference?
With MSC it seems like the Main Dining room for Dinner is the best option every night. I think you need to minus the bad experience on the older ship because the vast majority of cruisers are going on the Seascape, newer ships. Maybe try the mexican or the sushi a few times for lunch. Most reviews of the Dinner in the Main dining room seems very good.
Good video with valuable info. Food is a big part of a cruise for me, and this makes MSC a no-go. It bothered me to hear you guys refer to the "free" or "complimentary" food - that's not free or complimentary, that's the food included in your fare!!! It should be good and plentiful, you've already paid for it! Even though the Mexican place was relatively inexpensive, it still felt lke they were nickel-and-diming you for "extra" when you already paid for your food. It feels scammy. Thanks again for taking us on your travels!
I did read if you have purchaaed the package you get 50% off your selected upcharges. Is that true? Not sure if you would know since you did not purchase the package
Does MSC post the evening's menu somewhere (paper or online), so you can make a better decision about whether to eat at the free dining or a specialty restaurant?
Thank you for sharing your opinion on the specialty restaurant. I already bought the specialty restaurant package and now I am considering asking for a refund on the package. It sounds very unfair to serve basic food for customers who purchased ahead, and people who didn't plan ahead can enjoy the discounts. It's bad for customers who plans ahead and it's also bad for cruise staff who prepare the food.
So wondeful cruise ships l like so much l would like to be with you someday l am good bartender l can give a good service. The best company MSC l love it and also good channel l follow us few a day ago
Hi, I assumed you purchased the specialty dining package. We are planning to book a 3-dining specialty experience and it's priced at $71/adult, multiply by 4 it's supposed to be $284. MSC probably has the most expensive dining experiences, the representative when we call MSC, she told us that our total will be $1736 , WHAATTT!!! She said 71 x 4=284 x 7 days equals $1736. Her math even was awful, and unbelievable, anyway, is this right?
I’ve seen such bad reviews for this cruise ship especially on the food and it sucks because many of my friends have gone on this ship and had a blast. I’m Italian I would totally book this cruise if they had one Italian specialty restaurant! We aren’t big seafood eaters! This bums me out because I really do want to book a cabin with my own personal hot tub but I can’t because there’s just not enough food options even if we were willing to pay the extra

@@nikkib6604 Yes, the World Europa is currently doing the Mediterranean sailings. It's a different type of ship. They copied a few things from Royal Caribbean
There is no such thing as "free food" on a cruise. The food that you get without a surcharge is included in the price you paid. So you see, you have paid for it. Substandard food on MSC is what I hear a lot of. Much like NCL and RCCL. Yes, I have cruised on both those lines and will not go back. Food is a big deal for me. So, will stick with cruise lines owned by, the Carnival Corp. Not the cheapest, but, good food, good service, good entertainment, and excellent casinos. MSC dining doesn't sound good. Seems like the cruise line nickels and dimes you. Doesn't sound like the cruise line for me.
Carnival food? Yuck! MSC food is great. If you want American food crap stick with carnival. Why do you want fast food burgers on a cruise? My taste is so different from yours so your opinion is not in line with mine. I’m Italian and the last thing I want is American fast food which is all processed and GROSS!
