Like i said in the video a few times, i skip the songs so i dont ruin a chance of hearing it for the 1st time and giving my honest reaction to it. The link to the original video is in the description if yall want to see it. I can always listen later on to a before and after of her surgery with songs that showcase her voice.
You must be a superhumanely fast and an intellectual prodigy if you can hear everything in a BAND-MAID song from the first listen 😂
Seriously, I remember there was a whole discussion on the Gaijin Guys channel about this. They agreeв шт the end that the minimum number of times you need to hear a BAND-MAID song in order to grasp the basics, is seven. Like, bare minimum.
Actually, this is proven by the fact that when you heard Daydreaming in Kanami's documentary, first time you said you reacted to it - you recognized it, because the song was named. But the other two times this song was in that video, you did not even recognize it. You said, "It seems I have heard this song before..." and that was it.
The same thing happens to me all the time. I know the whole BAND-MAID catalogue pretty well, but each time a song comes randomly into my headphones, I need a minute to figure out which one it is. I am a slowmo, I know it, and for me it takes not seven, but probably 19 times to get the basics of any BAND-MAID song. There is always so much happening there, even after a score of listens I still discover new things I did not notice before.
My point is that you should not skip the songs while watching these documentaries. I can guarantee you will not remember any details when listening to this song properly during your full reaction. Your reaction will still be an honest first listen.
Also, many videoclips and background tracks which Ohrenje placed in his videos, are from rare sources. Like, that Giovanni video which you skipped here at 8:40, is from an ONLINE OKYUJI they have streamed live during COVID times, and it's officially available only through BAND-MAID Prime service, i.e., for the paid members of the Fan Club. Of course, the unedited recording of this stream was saved by the fans and can be found on various video sharing platforms, but not on UA-cam, I guess. You may listen to the audio only of Giovanni, of course, but otherwise, there are no easily available opportunities for reactors to react to it.
Thank goodness that Sai-chan plucked up the courage to have vocal surgery, her voice has never been better :)
Absolutely! And even though there may have been some time in between, I can well imagine that this decision, with the accompanying improvement in her voice, has also helped to boost her self-confidence and that she is now coming out of her shell more. Because let's be honest, there are 0.0 reasons why she has to be shy. A queen on stage and at the same time a great woman who is funny, profound, educated and I think also very forward-thinking. 😏
@@phaeron Very well said. I know her nickname was Ice Queen & some said she was tsundere & aloof in the earlier days but Saiki has well since thawed. You can see her confidence & self-assurance on stage & interviews is plain for all to see these days. Hey did you see my song "Crash into the Blue" on Greedy & Moobag channel? It was kind of inspired by "Daydreaming" but it doesn't sound like it tho :)

@@phaeron No i used to play some average keyboard so i could hold a tune but after my hand was shattered in a car door accident i kind of had to give up. That's why i can't do physical painting anymore. It's ok my hand doesn't look like a withered arthritic claw or anything, the fingers just don't work that well anymore.🤣

But hey, songwriting also seems to suit you very well and is a great way to express yourself with the right musicians on hand. And your sense for ballads doesn't seem to be too bad either. 🤭😉
IMO, you don't need to worry so much about hearing songs you haven't reacted to. It will only be snippets, and you'll miss part of the doc. Plus, I guarantee that it won't spoil the "first time effect" of their music. Their music can't really be appreciated in one listen anyway for the most part. They are that type of band - the one you never should judge until you've heard a song about 40 times.

As amazing as Saiki's early background and bredth of experience is, it's even more so when you remember that she was still 19 when she joined Band Maid
One thing the official live videos won't show you is the complete chaos and bonkers fun that are the band's Omajinai time (magic spell time) which Miku pulls directly from the maid cafe experience, and their MC time. There are a bunch of fan cams of those segments from their US tour dates that don't include any songs, you have to watch some of them to get a sense of the fun that a crowd has at a Band-Maid show. Do a YT search for Band-Maid MC and omajinai time.
I loved the way that the other band members went ten pin bowling in the alley next door while Miku was doing Omajinai Time at one venue.

Miku and Saiki wear headpieces with red and blue flowers respectively, they are roses. Originally cloth, recently they changed and are now smaller and look like they are lacquer jewelry. The colors might be a reference to the red and blue oni trope in anime. An oni is an ogre or demon. The red is impulsive and the blue is more calm. Fans use to call Saiki the "ice queen" because she was so reserved. Not anymore. The pigeon gimmick of Kobato is just that. a gimmick. The 810 age is a pun on Kobato, I think from Saiki. Some fans refer to Misa and Saiki as the "Dark Sisters" because of the dark costumes. Akane used to wear a tiny hat known to fans as "the Tiny Hat". Originally Misa had the hat but that didn't last.
Miku could not play guitar and Kanami taught her when Saiki became the lead singer.
Ironically, as if in exchange for the retirement of Namie Amuro, of which she was a big fan, she began to gain recognition in Japan, as if she were being reimported back into the country after her popularity overseas.
Miku and Kanami have the traditional French maid outfit Misa hated the maid outfit so much she almost quit so the let her wear the Maid Assassin outfit and Saiki adopted the Spanish maid outfit. Akane wore variations on maid outfits but some outfits were not easy to drum in so that is why hers nois more like the Butler outfit.
Watching Saiki in their videos and onstage live, you can see how the dancing and acting lessons have made her such a charismatic frontwoman. Anyone her who sees her up close live are absolutely mesmerized by her direct look. She can look happy and give you a beautiful smile or an angry look that will make you wet your pants.

They wear spats underneath i believe. Something like cheerleaders wear but a little longer. At least thats my understanding.
I thought spats were old-fashioned shoe coverings(?). Anyway, there are a couple of fan concert videos where Kanami playfully lifts up Miku's skirt from behind, and it looks like Miku, at least, wears layers of frilly undergarments.

I have noticed a little inconsistency in Miku however. She has referred to herself as half pigeon, half human at times. So maybe the Unleash!!!!! anime video is true and she can change from one form to another! 😁

Saiki is so pretty
Before Band-Maid, Miku was in a Jpop Idol vocal group called Lil Cumin for a bout two years- 2011-213. This experience gave her an insight into the music business and helped her to decide that she wanted to be in a rock ("Cool Music") band, rather than pop band. Miku and Saiki both wear a maids ruffled head dresses. Miku, white with a red rose and Saiki, black with a blue rose. Don't worry, the ladies have many petticoats under their dresses.

Saiki kept herself alone for the first few months after she joined Band-Maid (due to her personality). Akane and Kanami worried about her and often tried to talk to her. But Saiki always rejected their offer by saying to them "I'm okay (by myself)" Miku, on the other hand, kept talking to Saiki even though Saiki didn't like it at first. MISA was the first one whom Saiki became a friend in this band. Now, they call themselves a close family.

Is *Miku Kobato* is a 810 year old Pigeon or is it just an Persona? Well if you asked *Miku* she would say she is a 810 year old Pigeon ☺With that in mind in their final 10 anniversary show in Yokohama. During the performance they would sit and talk and reflect on old videos well *Saiki* pulled up a video where *Miku* was not saying Po! all the time which kind of embarrassed *Miku* but everything is in good fun with *BAND-MAID* 🤗
Notice Miku does not have guitar at the 1st concert. The 1st solo concert she has the Rickenbacker.
Driving on the left looks normal to me, but I am Australian. Saiki wears a headband with a blue flower. Miku also wears a headband, but with a red flower. The members with short skirts do wear modesty shorts under their skirts.
Miku's family name Kobato can be translated as "small pigeon" That is why she refers to herself as a pigeon. I have never heard the story about 800 years but she would be crazy enough to have one I am sure. Po is the sound a pigeon makes in Japan if they describe, much like we go Meow for cats. That is why she adds the Po in every sentence
The whole small pigeon thing with Miku is a stage character. That's not to say she doesn't play it up. She does, but it's a character. The po! thing is a basically a verbal tic at this point because she has done it so long now.
She also uses it expressively: Po? Po-o-o. Po!

One thing in Japan, artist management companies (engaged in the search, development and promotion of artists) are not labels; record labels still exist separately. For example, if you are a musician and your band breaks up, the company will find you a new job. If you have great talent, the company will help you sign a contract with a major label

About driving on the left side: Yes, that's weird ... but surely the other way around for others 😅 When I was in Scotland for honeymoon it was very frightening first 🚗 But in America ... yes: you are driving on the right (in both meanings😅) side ... but if the road has multiple lanes you drive wherever you want ... That's also quite insane for someone from Germany 😅

With this being a reaction channel I chose to skip the songs because I want to hear them for the 1st time as a whole. I'm going to do a video reacting to Saikis voice before and after her surgery as well as to songs played in the video. I linked your video in the description like I always do with all my videos. Skipping through the songs didn't ruin the video at all for me. It gives me more to look forward to with this band.

You have been the updated versions of these. Akane's is next, but her updated version is not done yet.
No, I'm not a dirty old man and, yes, they all wear short pants under their garb. Miku, in the past wore frilly bloomer like underwear over her shorts, and Kanami loves to tease her by flipping up the back of her skirt when she isn't looking. The audience loves it, because Miku always has that mortified look when it happens. Because of those antics, the Maidiac love the Maids for their stage hijinks. Miku's Magic Hour (Omajanai) is the primary break in their concerts that is a must see for first timers.
Does Miku really think she's an 810yo pigeon? Unlikely, but it's been somewhat rare to catch her out of persona for the better half of a decade. I think she might actually believe it in the context of her character, if that makes sense.
You should have started with MIKU! She was the one who got the band together!
