Congratulations on your Texas Rangers finally winning the World Series! Bravo! I'm sure you went nucking Futs!! LOL! I am a Dodger fan with a soft spot for the Red Sox, cause I just love Boston (also the last place I saw Band Maid 10-29-2022). If you are a baseball fan, you need - yes need - to see Fenway Park someday!
Hockey is very popular in Czech rep. Local team ofcourse, and NJ Devils. Just because i liked the logo and they had good years when i played NHL 2004 on PC, i follow them since that time.
I used to be a big Yankees fan, but I don't follow them much any more. I bought a Hanshin Tigers cap to wear to Band-Maid concerts, in the hope that Saiki would notice and feel cheered by it.
Band-Maid has rekindled my love of music. What a gift miracle these ladies are. Makes me wonder how, how in the world the stars aligned just right to create this gem of a band? They are just the perfect fit for each other.
That song at the end is their 3rd love letter to us fans, "Memorable," which Kanami wrote while they were touring the US in late 2022 in the afterglow of their first shows after COVID. There's a video, and it is absolutely beautiful.
@@bretcrooks4207 I still get emotional when I hear the opening notes of that song. And if I hear the intro to that song from the TGT Okyu-ji, issue the flood alert! 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲❤❤❤❤❤
The existence of the "Gachi koi Family" was confirmed at KT ZEPP Yokohama's live performance on February 22nd. One of the fans noticed that SAIKI had changed her hairstyle and exclaimed that it looked good on her. Then Kanami immediately responded by saying "Yes, SAI-chan is soooo beautiful". And she asked "Is there anyone who loves SAIKI?" Almost everyone said a loud YES and raised their hands. KANAMI then declared that those who are seriously in love with SAIKI are family, and she named it "Gachi Koi Family". In the end, KANAMI said "FU!!! But out of all the family members, I am the closest one!!" with a victorious look on her face. And the venue was filled with laughter. To tell you the truth, of course I like SAIKI, but I am seriously in love with Kanami.
The song at the end of this video is Memorable. Kanami started writing it during there 2022 US tour, and completed it after they returned to Japan. It was written as a thank you gift to the US fans for being so supportive of the band. There are not many bands around these days that care as much for their fans as these ladies. They are SPECIAL!!
The closing song you are listening to is "Memorable." It is a song written during their 2022 US Tour to express their thanks and appreciation to their masters and princesses for all the support and love they received on the tour from start to finish. It is a powerful, emotional love song to their fans and I really think you should react to it when you get the chance. Also, it's perfectly okay for you to cry during this song. So many of us did. I'm a 60 year old ex-Marine who doesn't cry at sad songs or movies, but this band has brought me to my knees and made me weep in the most wonderful and beautiful ways and never out of sadness. Only out of love and deep emotion. Memorable isn't the only love song that Band Maid has written to their fans, either. The first one was Smile The 2nd one was About Us, written during the pandemic. It deals with all the pain and sadness of the pandemic but with a hope for much better tomorrows. And yes, when it says "About Us," they meant not just the band, but their fans. They know that we are one. When I first heard About Us, I thought, "a little different, more mellow song than what they are known for, but still very beautiful." 2 days later, I saw the video again but with the English translation and I balled my eyes out. Literally sobbing. I won't reveal the lyrics or give you any hints, but I think you will be deeply moved by this song. Smile, About Us and Memorable. 3 love songs from a band to their fans. Who does this? Band Maid does. Get your tissues ready, NittPicc.
@@tomhenggeler3837 Thank you and you're every welcome! I found them by accident early summer 2017. The first time I saw them, LA 10-1-2019, there was a guy from Canada who came down to see them. He was 70 at the time.
I am a 72 year old ex musician that is disabled now(can't play keyboards anymore). I found Band-Maid on Facebook back in 2014. They have made me love music again, their writing skills are incredible. Band-Maid Forever. ❤❤❤❤❤
@@CAPTCHAZ Amen Brother! Wow, you're lucky! I didn't find them until late spring/early summer of 2017. I can't remember the exact date, but I'll never forget that night! I hadn't even heard of them, found them by accident. 30 seconds into Thrill, life changed forever!
Thank you for reacting to this first new version of the documentary series. I'm very glad that you joined BAND-MAID's fanbase, I really enjoy watching your reactions. I can't wait for the next BAND-MAID Sunday 😊
@Ohrenje Since this is the first time I've seen the new version, I have to ask: what is the source of the "Saiki" voice-over? Is that from a magazine interview or something?
I got a whole new appreciation for how good Saiki is being at a concert 6’ away from her. It was a reasonably small gig and I could hear her direct - absolutely fantastic. The maids are all a bit super human up close, to be honest.
I also agree, two of the times I saw them, once in 2022 and once in 2023 and I was right at the stage in front of Kanami and for a good portion of the shows, Sai-Chan. They are one of the few group that truly sound live even better than a video.
100%!! I was at five of the shows, all up front on the rail, during the 2022 US tour (Dallas, Houston, New York, Boston, and Chicago - I regret not going to the last minute added New Jersey show). They made each show unique and amazing, with slight changes in songs to each set list. The MC breaks were always a fun time to be "one-on-one" with Saiki. That is when she started the "learn a Japanese word" with Kanami. Saiki and Kanami would pair up on stage and teach the crowd a Japanese word, use it in a sentence, and have the crowd repeat the word. And of course there was Akane and her banana eating and peel toss to the crowd segment. SO much FUN! If you (anyone) have a chance to see Band Maid in concert - DO NOT pass it up!
Saiki had her polyp surgery in late July 2017. Two weeks later Miku had (lesser known to Maidiacs) nodules removed from her vocal chords. The timing was to not keep them from rehearsing for too long a period. As you can see, everything worked out extremely well ! 😁♥️
And the evolution continues as Saiki has been learning guitar and piano and performed solo on the piano at the final concert of their tenth anniversary tour. And yes, as you said, Saiki was meant to be with Band-Maid and it says a lot that Miku, who created the band with the intention of fronting it, was able to realise her voice (beautiful as it is) was not right for their music and step back, making space for Saiki. The whole band was a miracle waiting to happen and we must give thanks to the Pigeon every day that she brought these wonderful women together.
Those extracts of 'Don't You Tell Me' included a short clip from the newly released live version from Yokohama arena. There are 2 reasons you should react to it, Saiki's performance is bloody fantastic, she is in full growl mode, I'll leave it for you to discover the other reason.
These documentaries are such a great glimpse into the personalities of the band members, even though they were all compiled from public info, Ohrenje's done a great job of compiling it all. He doesn't mention Saiki's love of Lego, she's a bit of a nerd in the best way possible (evident in her Instagram). There's no trace of rock star syndrome with these ladies, they are just five young women living their best life, with their best friends. The songs you want to chase down were Memorable, and the acoustic song she was singing with Kanami was the acoustic version of Puzzle (can be found on Instrumental Maid UA-cam channel).
I met the band briefly at the meet and greet during their 2019 US tour. At that time Saiki's persona was as the "Ice Queen", cool and aloof, or as the Japanese characterize as Tsundere. She was nothing like that. Smiling, friendly, gracious, made eye contact, thanked me for coming and left me slightly shocked! I've seen them seven times now and try as I might to focus on all the members I'm always drawn back to Saiki.
Same experience in 2019 at the Bochum Meet & Greet - I was expecting the Ice Queen and I shared a few words with a very smiling lady (I even made her laugh with my Band-Maiko tshirt). The thing that surprised me the most during the amazing concert was Saiki's stage presence - it doesn't totally translate on video, you have to be in the audience to experience it, it's hard to not look at her.
Dan, where did you see them? I saw them at their last show at Echoplex in LA - 10-1-2019. I had the same experience with Saiki! she could not stop smiling and neither could any of us!~ She was wearing colored contacts at the time which gave her a very cool look. I was blown away by how beautiful she was that close up in person. And Mincho was so much more adorable in person than I expected! They were all so cool and down to earth. They could not have been nicer!
@@charlescoleman4017 I saw them in Dallas that year. My three takeaways from that show were: 1) Saiki is the most beautiful woman I've ever had an interaction with, 2) all five members were more attractive that any of their video's or pictures, and 3) Saiki's voice was better live than I had ever heard on any concert DVD or video. On that tour it was the first time they played "Wonderland" and she just killed it on that song.
@@danharris4512 Wow, that is just incredible. I felt the same way when I saw them. Pictures and video don't do them any justice. They are flat out beautiful! And they are as lovely on the inside as they are on the outside. I am jealous that you got to celebrate Mincho's birthday there! Though I did get to celebrate Misa's birthday in 2022 in LA. Just awesome! And Wonderland is such a beautiful and underappreciated song!
Saiki definitely knows how to drop a surprise. When she sat down at the piano at Yokohama to accompany herself, there were gasps (at home I was bouncing off the walls when I realized what was happening).
I started tearing up as she started to play and sing by herself. 🥲🥲🎹🎤 That whole show was an emotional roller-coaster, all of it 100% positive! No sad tears, just happy ones.
Thx For doing these NittPicc. Not only are you the best new reactor on YT you're also reacting to Ohrenje's awesome B-M docus which are also by far the best on YT.🤗
What's a docus? sounds like a body part :p ... I tried to make up a sentence using "your word" but laughed so hard each time I lost the ability to type :) . I think a hyphen or apostrophe may be your friend ... unless you like being poked in the docus.
@@PANIC_aka_PinD Could be a typical german mistake. Doku in singular and Dokus in plural is a colloquial abbreviation for Dokumentation, documentary in english. And because the first letters are the same maybe he assumed you could abbreviate it in english as well 💁♂️
@@PANIC_aka_PinD Yes thx for that sarcastic insight Panic.😂 An errant apostrophe was to blame. Not quite as bad as the predictive text that changed my "Looked" to "Loomed" & i apparently "Loomed up at Jayoung & Iree".🤣
BAND-MAID just released an official live video of 'Don't you tell me' from Yokohama Arena. It's a really good opportunity to see how far Saiki has come, so you might want to bump it up your schedule ;)
@@GaryHolloway-810 maybe do a double reaction? The original MV where we get a funny look at their personalities followed by the Yokohama Arena video. I think NittPicc would get a kick out of the studio MV and of course that live video is just kickass! Band Maid at the height of their powers.
@@charlescoleman4017 Well you know i'm never going to complain about anyone reacting to my all time fave song. Tho i was surprised Joel didn't like the MV, apart from Unleash it's one of their best imo.🤷♂️ That's decided then Charles, NittPicc will do a double header DYTM MV & live at Yokohama won't you NittPicc....Helloooo, Nittpicc. She must've popped out for a moment, Charles.😏
Saiki is something to behold on stage. I liked her singing all along. But the first concert of theirs I went to, I was lucky enough to stand about six feet away from her. I was mesmerized by her singing and moves. At one point as I realized she was looking straight at me, (not in my general direction). I gave her a thumbs up and she winked. I just about died.
There were a lot of teasers you heard for the first time during that documentary, including the last song 'Memorable' it was written during the US tour in 2022 after the 4th concert as Kanami felt inspired by the love of the crowd to write it. It was filmed while the band had their second tour in the US featuring Miku only in the video with short clips of the whole band performing it in concert. It is the 3rd song to be written by the band as a love letter to the fans, the first being' Smile' and the second is 'About Us' There are obviously a whole lot of songs to get to and we will guide you all the way. Your a great reactor and your reactions come straight from the heart. It is a joy to share these documentaries with you.
I don't usually go for ballads, but the three ballads featured here are so good. Saiki is a big reason why. Puzzle acoustic and About Us are both total tear jerkers. And Memorable was such a nice surprise after the 2022 US tour.
And in Band Maid's 10th Anniversary year - Long-suffering Hanshin Tigers win Japan Series, end ‘Curse of the KFC Colonel’ . Sadly since Saiki has now taken up Piano and Guitar , the fancy nails are gone.
Saiki may be the 5th member, the last to join, but she is indispensable. They all are. This magic does not happen without all 5 of them. I feel blessed to be able to witness this!
Also, if you have access the deluxe edition of their Tokyo Garden Theater okyuji, there is a bonus behind the scenes video disc of their 2022 US tour. In one scene, on the tour bus, Kanami is playing the beginnings of Memorable on acoustic guitar, while humming the crude vocal melody to Saiki. Kanami gets so excited when Saiki praises her for what she has just heard. Kanami really likes being praised by Saiki.
Even though Rush were together as a group for over 40 years. Neil Peart (who auditioned after the first album due to John Rutsey health issues), was always lovingly regarded as "The New Guy" for over 40 years. I think Band-Maid can lovingly regard Saiki as "The New Girl" for the next 30+ years. And just like Neil, they're contributions to their bands was/is/will always be timeless. Thanks NittPicc for another insightful reaction.
I recall reading about Neil Peart hauling around his drum kit in trash cans or garbage bags at the time of his audition. I'm fascinated on how these legendary bands all came together. The shaky start to Saiki's inclusion to the band seemed like it was close to not happening, yet she stayed. Now, there are photographs of them teasing and hugging each other like some close knit family, what a story.
Thank you for your kind words. Narrating O-san's scripts for Band Maid is a pleasure. As a fan, I learned so much being involved. Ohrenje is in the process of remaking all his original documentaries so please make sure you catch the latest one. They are in the works but coming out soon.
@@johnstroup3868 My pleasure. I love telling stories and stories about Band-Maid are even better. I can also be very friendly, but that usually involves money.
I'm in the middle of this and it's great so far! I loved your soft squeal when you saw Saiki's love for fashion! Your enthusiasm and appreciation of this woman and this band is genuine and heartwarming. Welcome home, Princess. We the Maidiacs welcome you with open arms! If you are looking for a video that shows more of their personalities, please check out the Gold Rush Interview. It's about 29 minutes total (possibly in 2 parts) and is from much earlier in their career. It's a very fun and worthwhile viewing! There is video from The Gold Rush Interview about the 15:58 mark in your video. I think you'll love it, whether you react to it or just enjoy it yourself.
At least one of the Maids almost did quit at one point. And more than one was struggling with motivation and commitment at a point. 😮 Drama coming in future installments!! Thank the gods they stayed!! 😅
There are so many small miracles that lead to the formation of Band-Maid. Each member contributes and the sum of the band is greater than the individuals.
What do I think about Saiki? She is the perfect fit and right person for Band Maid. All of them are, actually. Each member is completely irreplaceable. I have always been a big fan of Kanami. (My cat is named after her 🐈 ) So I was psyched to see her in concert. However, when I saw my first live show? It was Saiki who commanded the stage. Without rambling about my experiences, I will just say that she possesses the same overwhelming charisma as the greatest artists of the past. (Whitney Houston comes to mind) I was completely unprepared. She is an intimidating force. In the best possible way
I love Band Maid Sundays! These Orehnje documentaries have an absolutely professional quality. That analogy of the five pieces of the puzzle fitting together one after the other in a practically miraculous way, to finally show the image of the band that they are today is perfectly accurate. Saiki was Miku's commitment to an image of a more powerful, enigmatic and absorbing woman at the front of the band, the image that should provide contrast to her own. Everything in Band Maid is a game of contrasts, and nothing is what it seems to be. Thank you! It has been really nice to see Saiki's documentary in your company again.
I think there was 3 things that initially drew me to Band-Maid. The songwriting (super catchy, interesting songs), the joy they had on stage (FREEDOM live video, hello?), and Saiki's voice. Saiki's voice stands out so much for me because of the tonal quality and the deepness of it. It's unlike typical higher pitched Japanese voices, and it also has a great quality to it. Even in Thrill, I thought her voice sounds great. Also, superfan Ohrenje, pretty sure it's pronounced similar to "Orange" 🤣 Definitely not a soft J, he's a Frenchie. He also has a Band-Maid discord with tons of other wonderful fans.
I had to do this in more than one sitting :p ... it was fun to watch this with you. There is a certain familiarity and relatability to each of our MAIDs you will discover.
I love your Band Maid reactions. It is so nice to see genuine reactions and a few moments seeing your reaction brought tears to my old eyes.. I shared your reaction to Band-Maid World Domination and Saiki Atsumi/Band Maid F...B... channels and it is receiving a lot of love. You are a wonderful person.
I've been a baseball fan for all my life (played though high school), Grew up in Detroit so a Tigers fan. I also started to watch Japanese baseball on this new channel on cable called ESPN. I also fell into watching the Hanshin Tigers and fell in love with them. Went to a Hanshin game last year during a spring trip to Japan.
I have to admit that in the first few weeks after I discovered B-M, I didn't quite warmed up to Saiki and was more captivated by the music that came from behind her. Today I ask myself how I could have been so blind! 🙈 It took 2 songs for it to click with me, which changed my focus, and with which Saiki ultimately stole my heart. 'Daydreaming' and the acoustic performance of 'Puzzle' that you saw at the end here. :) And I can confirm what the documentary conveys, the development and presence of Saiki in the last 2-3 years alone, especially since the pandemic, has grown tremendously. Saiki is perfect as she is and she is perfect and irreplaceable for this band. A wonderful and inspiring woman, which as you will discover is true of each of these ladies for different reasons. _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Well done NittPicc 😃. I consider BAND-MAID my own personal - kiseki (奇跡) - (miracle) band that has renewed my interest in rock music! Saiki would have to be my favourite female vocalist!
I really love that you reacting to this videos because like I said before, you will see this band totally different after you know they struggles and sacrifices. You just saw the history of Saiki, with for the other 👍🏻
I've been watching all of your reactions to Band-Maid and I love seeing the genuine excitement you have when listening to them. Most of us fans were the same way when we discovered them. Ohrenje's updated documentaries are sure to be great so I'm happy to hear that you'll be waiting to watch the new ones. Also it seriously brought a smile to my face hearing you say that they might just be your new favorite band ☺ I know I can speak for the majority of the fans when I say that we're glad you found this amazing band and we can't wait to see more of your journey with them
It's quite a coincidence the documentary showed a clip from "Giovani." I mentioned in another of your videos the "White Room" bonus feature videos from their concert bluerays and how without vocals some songs sound so different. "Giovani" is a PRIME example of that! Astounding difference between the two versions. And speaking of "night-and-day-differences," Saiki has certainly opened up and become more comfortable over the years off-stage. In the majority of their early appearances it would nearly take a cattle prod to get her to even speak. So quiet. So reserved. Contrast that with her fantastic stage presence - a true Queen in the spotlight. She's amazing :) Edit: In addition to Daydreaming (per @wave8359 below), you should also check out "About Us." It was written during the pandemic as a love letter to the fans and the separation everyone was feeling. Bring tissues.
The song at the end that you were curious about is MEMORABLE. Kanami wrote this tune during their 2022 USA tour. The song was specifically written for all the US fans - a song saying 'thank you' to their fandom. Pretty damn cool. Thank you for your reaction to this SAIKI documentary. It is very much appreciated.
Hey Princess Picc! So very glad you're getting to experience the Ohrenje Chronicles! My dear there are so many special moments for you to discover and we are a bit envious you have all that in your future BUT lucky us we get to experience it all again through your first reaction. That being said when you get around to the Smile trilogy wear waterproof makeup. Can you name any other band who have written songs of appreciation and love to their fan base? 😮 We're not worthy!
I agree about the tonal quality of Saiki's voice. She has matured and the result is gorgeous. You'll react to live songs from Line Cube Shibuya February 20th 2020, their last show before Covid, and she was definitely impressive then. But now! They did some streaming during 2020 and the results were maybe up and down ... performing without feedback was new to them and their crew. They replaced the Budokan date with another live stream (where the "About Us" video comes from), then at the end of 2021 they did an all-acoustic Christmas concert. That's when it really became evident that Saiki is truly a powerhouse singer. Without the noise and chaos of a rock concert, she was front and center and she handled it with ease. They returned to touring in 2022, visiting the U.S. in October. The whole band seemed to gain poise and confidence from the experience. Saiki in particular is confident, in charge, commanding the room, just the perfect fit for a rock and roll band. A woman with that attitude is sexy as hell, too. By the way, there is a "commentary" reel for the Christmas concert. Miku apologized for her excessive glitter. She is used to making up for evening shows on dark stages but they recorded in a convention center ballroom with daylight streaming in through giant windows. Ooops!
Band Maid Nippon was the best thing ever !-- --Can't it be resurrected ?---it was also the best way to learning Japanese ! Altogether, a wonderful show. PLEASE bring it back, Band Maid !!!!!!!!!!
Bravo NittPicc! Your reaction videos are addicting! I would like to suggest some videos for you to react to. 1 - Don't You Tell Me the studio version. The live version(s) is awesome, but through a nice little storyline, you get to see aspects of their personalities played out in the video. Watch this one first before you watch the live versions. It's a fun watch 2 - Afterlife - also the studio version. Without giving away too much, it's a story about someone working in the service industry (Maid cafe, I believe) who gets fed up with the situation and throws a major league hissy fit. It's a lot of fun to watch and anyone who has ever worked in the food service industry can relate to the aggravation on display here. It's also a serious hard banger of a song! 3 - Freedom Official Live version is a must see! Trust me on this! I don't want to give too much away and spoil these for you. 4 - Memorable and/or About Us - both of them love songs written by the band for their fans. The only thing I'll tell you about these is, it's okay to cry when watching these. I know you don't like to see the lyrics before watching a video, but making an exception for these 2 might be better. Or just spend more time both watching and reading when reacting. The songs are beautiful, but the words are just so powerful and emotional. Thank you for your wonderful reactions and for embracing this band that so many of us have come to love so very much.
@@GaryHolloway-810 Yes, I love them both too. But I think for her sake, seeing the MV first could be educational as well as entertaining. Just my 2 cents. But yes, both are exceptional. I also really love the live version on Band Maid Prime for Zepp Tokyo. 2018 I think. The guitar-bass battle there is epic!
@@charlescoleman4017 I Totally agree. Li,e you said the MV is entertaining & it's also got somewhat of a story too & not just the performance. Zepp 2018 MISA/Kanami conversation is my fave but the Maid visuals & stage presence of Saiki in the Yokohama version is the better performance :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 Yes, totally agree. The overall performance at Yokohama is just killer! But boy, that Misa-Kanami conversation still gives me chills every time I watch it! Tangent - the version of Freedom at Zepp 2018 especially the intro to it is just fuggen awesome! It's my favorite song anyway, but that intro is killer. The intro for Freedom at Yokohama is on that same level!
Ohrenje's documentary is really great! Let's trace the miraculous meeting of the five members together through the documentary! And when you finish watching Miku's part at the end, you will surely be a captive of BAND-MAID. The girls also enjoy checking out reaction videos from overseas, so Saiki might have noticed you.
And this was Ohrenjes second version of that documentary. So much work. The first one was quite similar but this has some additional information and is a bit more serious. Especially the story of Saiki meeting them the first time was also new for me. Love both versions and looking forward to his makeovers of the other documentaries.
You need to watch "Memorable" and "Puzzle acoustic" -- the latter will take some searching as it is not on UA-cam. "Memorable" is heart-felt -- as is "About Us" during Covid. These two songs are love songs from the band to the fans. "Memorable" was written during the US tour when the band was very touched by their warm welcome by the fans.
Thank you for your reaction. These mini-docs are very well produced and much thanks to Ohrenje. When Saiki finally joined the band we had a major planetary alignment of Mercury, Venus, Mars Saturn and Jupiter. I'll leave it up to the maidiacs to determine which member is which planet.
Great reaction!!! So fantastic that from Saiki's experience you have been able to draw forth how , if a person tries with actually putting in the effort at things that might seem disconnected from other things, there are connections that can be made to allow one to bring even more to those things they truly seek. Again, excellent video and I am so glad you have found your spirit sister! I look forward to future videos from you and Thank you for your efforts on this one. While I deeply love and appreciate each and every one of the Maids, there is something about Saiki and her voice that pulls at my heart strings every time.
You probably didnt notice but when Miku talks she ends every sentence with po. As you see more Band-Maid youll catch it. Kotoba 小鳩 means little pigeon, so she thinks she was a pigeon in a previous life and っぽ is the onomoatopeia for bird cooing. The other gilrs think shes mental. Lol
Miku had been secretly eyeing Saiki for a while. To tell the truth, Miku was the one who wanted Saiki to join the band the most. She was in love with Saiki's voice.😃
Your reaction is priceless, because it is truly from the heart. I'm and old fart who has been listening to rock since the late 1950's and have seen many groups and artists come and go. As I went through my sojourns in music I have seen many acts, good ones, middling ones and really poor ones. Then there are the ones that just grab hold of you and won't let go. For me it was groups like The Doors, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Cream, The Yardbirds, The Moody Blues and Emerson, Lake and Palmer that really grabbed me. I always like the Beach Boys, mainly because of Brian Wilson's drive to push beyond the surfer group tag. I also consider Kanami to be Japan's equivalent of Brian Wilson at present. She is literally a genius-level composer and arranger. I had tired of rock beginning in the 1980's and despaired what has happened to music here. My initial foray into Japanese music happened after I saw Kill Bill and a female rock group named The 5, 6, 7, 8's played in the famous nightclub scene and they really reminded me of the rock I grew up with. Then I got interested in a group called Show-Ya, who were really hard chargers. After a while I kind of slipped away from it until about 6 years ago I watched a music video someone posted on Facebook. It was Wagakki Band doing "Kishikaisei" and I was instantly enthralled by them (you need to react to them also, they are a true supergroup in the true definition of the word). From that I went on to Baby Metal, SCANDAL, Aldious, Stereopony, Trident and then, Band Maid. They really touched a chord in me that reminded me of why I got into rock in the first place. And after learning the entire backstory I was utterly convinced that they're getting together was a sort musical cosmic event, lol. Call it fate, kismet or any other term, it just seemed that they were destined to become what they have become. They have a true love affair with their fans, which is almost an impossibility in today's world, and especially in the US. Their feelings are very simply put in the songs About Us and Memorable. Memorable is very touching and when you watch their documentary video of their 2022 US Tour you will see how Memorable came about. Kanami, even though she had some hard times towards the end of the tour, composed an utterly beautiful song that no other group on the planet would do. I have seen them live 3 times and wish I could have seen them 4 or 5 more times live. They are by all measurements the best rock group on the planet, with no egos and an "all for one and one for all" attitude that is not seen today. And they are genuinely good people. There's a reason why the literally have a global fan base on pretty much every continent. I can't wait to see your reactions to the rest of Ohrenje's documentaries, lo. Given how you feel about Band Maid, you should check out the reactors called the "Gaijin Guys". Gaijin is the loose term in Japanese for foreigners. They are the real go-getters in supporting Japanese music. Wave Potter, Ryan Mear, The Champ of Medium and Alan from Dicodec. You will find them interesting. You should also react to the new Live Official video of "Don't You Tell Me" that they dropped on the 22nd. It truly illustrates everything you have talked about today about Sai-Chan. It's from the finale of their 10th Anniversary Tour in Yokohama last November 23rd. I apologize for the length of the comment, I tend to get a bit wordy, lol. And your makeup looks perfect.
The song at the end is "Leaky eyes," I mean "Memorable," Po! (MV filmed near Lancaster, CA, near LA, during their OA for the Last Rockstar show, Feb, 2023). 🦍🍌 Btw, for the end of 2023/24, they commissioned @kimikatrock, a boutique vintage dress designer, to develop gear unique to each personality. I think the Look is Maid Cafe Biker Chic, Po! Miku and Saiki called the "headband" a "kachūsha," It's a Japanese "cultural/traditional label, it seems.
Kobaro secretly watching the audition agrees with another story I heard that Kobato specifically wanted Saiki. The singer May Saiki danced with early on has an NHK show J-Melo which Band-Maid has been on. The YT videos are probably gone but Misa was interviewed by the Japanese DJ/musician/TV-host Chris Peppler. Somehow he got her to talk. Maybe it was the beer, the radio show is sponsored by Sapporo beer and guests drink. Misa brought snacks.
OK I've seen this before I'm 62 male and the tears seem to fall every time I've listened to every super .group rock band from the 60's and 70's and I finally found a band that speaks to me can't explain it but bandmaid is the greatest rock band that I've ever listened to and I know I will never forget them the acoustic song near the end is puzzle hope you can find it and react to it also the song with minchos and he wa wa pedal and the green Lazer lights is take me higher please react to that one as well
Hello, thank you for always supporting Band-Maid. Ohrenje-san has started releasing Band-Maid documentary season 2. Thank you for being the first to pick up this documentary. I think Season 1 was completed solely with Ohrenje-san's personal research and materials. It's a great documentary, an incredibly good piece of work, just on the strength of the individual. Now, over the past two seasons, I think Ohrenje-san will finally be making a full-fledged work that actually interviews the members of Band-Maid. The reason is that "Saiki" is credited as her real name "厚見彩姫(Atsumi Saiki)".The content is also detailed with minor corrections and newly added information. It has a great composition.I'm looking forward to seeing the other members appear in the future.
This is the same Saiki video as the original, but with added content, right? I noticed how different it was from the one I originally watched, and saw other reactors react to. I’m guessing he’ll expand on the other videos as well?
Saiki also has a great sense of humor. I met her at a meet and greet in NYC in 2019 and jokingly said "Can I buy you a house?" she laughed and said "OK Big!" lol...
I'm so happy you are reacting to these Documentaries! (Thanks for explaining that you will wait for the updated versions - I was getting ready to ask when you planned to do the others. 😊) It is so fun to watch you discover all the non-musical reasons we love this band, even though the music alone would be enough! Looking forward to many more Band-Maid reactions from you.
oooooh boy just wait until you see the other 4 documentaries. song at the end is Memorable, their 3rd love song to the fans: ua-cam.com/video/DQX8BTTsHHU/v-deo.html&pp=ygUTbWVtb3JhYmxlIGJhbmQtbWFpZA%3D%3D
I commented on this reaction a few days ago but it seems to have been remove by the YT gods. I love your Band Maid reactions. It is so nice to see genuine reactions and a few moments seeing your reaction brought tears to my old eyes. I shared this video to the Band-Maid World Domination and a Saiki/Band Maid channels on a place that can't be mentioned. They have received much love.
OOh they showed a clip of one of their top 5 songs: Take Me Higher (kool bass/guitar solos & green lasers) Sadly it's no longer on youtube, but I gotta link. I'll send on yer discord Dunno how ya reactors do it. When I stumbled onto Band Maid. I devoured everything I could find on their youtube channel that 1st day! 😳
It was very enjoyable watching this along with a newer Maidiac. I hope you do watch more of their off the stage stuff. They are awesome people on and off stage. Side note. Ohrenje has the radio shows Miku and Saiki did on his channel with subtitles. And even animated some of them.
you picked the updated documentary. not to worry, there's not too much difference from the first version. hope you enjoy learning more about the ladies and their admirable friendship.
The first version is more whimsical but the 2.0 version is far more informative. All the documentaries are a gift to all current and future Masters and Princesses! If hard work and BandMaid love was money Oherenji would be a billionaire!
This is a fantastic series and I've watched all the videos several times.....happy to join you in watching them again! Each member is a unique puzzle piece and it's fun to see how each one came to fit in the band! Cheers for the journey!
The song at the end, that you asked about, is called "Memorable". It was written to their fans during their 2022 US tour. I saw them 3 times on that tour, so I know it was really written for me in particular 😉. The MV is on their official channel.
'Pieces of the "Puzzle"'... Hmmm, might be time to check out that song. 'Puzzle' official live from their UA-cam channel (known to be a Fan favourite) and then the stripped down version that was included in this video you just reacted too (in the background between 37.00 and 39.00) with just Saiki and Kanami ... just brilliant. You have a hellava long way to go with these guys. Unique in every sense of the word. New Subby from Aust Oh, being an Aussie, I'm into Aussie Rules (AFL - Football )
The song at the end is called Memorable it is a song dedicated to the USA fans You may also like Daydreaming. Also my favorite teams are Chicago White Sox, Miami Dolphins I feel a close connection to Saiki because of her being a fan of Trains and Baseball just like I am
I could see it in your eyes. That last acoustic song was Puzzle (acoustic) from Zepp Tokyo. The full band version is amazing but this hits much different. That would be a FANTASTIC “two fer”. 😉 To be clear, Puzzle was the video and Memorable was the outro song.
The last song was 'Memorable by BAND-MAID' a song for and about the fans "Maidiacs". If you have time you should check out the original Saiki documentary from Ohrenje.
Another great reaction to my favorite band! I Always struggle with who is my favorite Maid, but to be honest it is Saiki (blue is my favorite color). She is so beautiful with a voice to match. These ladies are all different, yet they make the perfect combination of talent and personalities that you can’t help but fall in love with them. Check out ‘Memorable”, the acoustic version of “puzzle”, “Sayonakadori” (spelled wrong), and other acoustic songs to get a feel for their softer side. (To be honest … again…. I LOVE each and every member of Band Maid). Favorite sport is American Footballl, UCLA BRUINS my favorite team. And now I follow the Hanshin Tigers baseball team of Japan.
Wait until you see the other members videos. You'll take back, "Saiki was meant for Band Maid" and start saying, "They all was meant for Band Maid." It's really crazy to me that the cosmos came together with this band.
Welcome home to the awesome Princess NittPicc! I'm sure you've been told the last song was "Memorable" and that there is a video for it. The song before that was the acoustic version of "Puzzle" while the lyrics are the same for the original and the acoustic, the feeling is completely different. In the original version (there is a video for it on UA-cam) Saiki sings it aggressively with anger, but the acoustic version sounds more like a completely broken-hearted woman filled with regret and sadness. Another song in this video showed Saiki's improvement was "Don't You Tell Me" and it is the live version from the Yokohama Arena concert the 10th Anniversary tour finale. The band went all out on this one and did 33 songs over the course of about 3-1/2 hours, and Saiki was in especially good form. They are going to release a video for that concert pretty soon. I watched the livestream of that concert about 3 or 4 times and loved it more each time. Band Maid will also be doing another acoustic concert soon, and I think they may livestream that one too.
Waaah I am so happy to see you reacting to the documentaries! They are very very well made and very informative of the band members, although personally I think the 1st documentary was way better than this one, but that's just me! I am sure now you will fall even more in-love with the Maids (if that's even possible haha) Always a pleasure watching your reactions, Nitt ♥
Wonderful reaction to an awesome documentary! I think you really put into words and echo the sentiments of many of us who see the awesomeness of this band. Your timing on when you are speaking, what you say, and ending commentary were very very good. 良く出来ました!🎶🎶🎶
Since Saiki is a fan of baseball, what is your favorite sport/sports team? (P.S. Excuse my makeup in this video. Hindsight is 20/20. 😅)
I miss my home baseball team.
I live all over the US for my career, but the St. Louis Cardinals will always be my team.
Phillies. And you look great
I used to be a big Yankees fan, but I don't follow them much any more.
And then some. I didn't cry. much. Just a small river.
great song! ♥
We all cried together and the rivers we cried flooded the whole world Po!!

@@charlescoleman4017 truth is spoken po
I thought I was the only 60 yo fan . Well said sir, and thank you for your service!
@@tomhenggeler3837 Thank you and you're every welcome! I found them by accident early summer 2017. The first time I saw them, LA 10-1-2019, there was a guy from Canada who came down to see them. He was 70 at the time.

@@mkoose + another 1, lol.
I was lucky enough to be front row Misa side twice and you are 100% correct!
I also agree, two of the times I saw them, once in 2022 and once in 2023 and I was right at the stage in front of Kanami and for a good portion of the shows, Sai-Chan. They are one of the few group that truly sound live even better than a video.
Amen!!!!
For sure! One of the most noticeable things about seeing them is how much Saiki's (and Miku's) vocals pop in a live performance.
I did not know that about Miku. Thank you for sharing that Frank!
Search for "The Day Before World Domination" for the translated interview with Miku about the throat surgeries .@@charlescoleman4017
Yup, her throat wasn’t nearly as bad as Saiki’s, but she got it done early to avoid more band down time.
@@powbobs Smart thinking on her part!
Thanks for that information about Miku, I had absolutely no knowledge about that. That's pretty amazing.
Absolutely 👍🍻
@@realdoclocoSaiki has a way of making you think she is examining your soul no matter where you are in the crowd.

You are going to hurt our Scottish lad Mark's feelings with statements like that you docus.
@@PANIC_aka_PinD Could be a typical german mistake. Doku in singular and Dokus in plural is a colloquial abbreviation for Dokumentation, documentary in english. And because the first letters are the same maybe he assumed you could abbreviate it in english as well 💁♂️

There are so many small miracles that lead to the formation of Band-Maid.
Each member contributes and the sum of the band is greater than the individuals.
So very true. Very good individually but BandMaid I far greater than the sum of each player. As Kobato says "It's a miracle"
(Whitney Houston comes to mind)
I was completely unprepared. She is an intimidating force. In the best possible way
Amazing story of this band huh? It’s crazy how this band came together, and miraculous that they get along so well.
By the time you’re done with watching all of those videos, you’ll have five favorite band members.

That last song was "Memorable." Check out the MV.

Thank you Miss Picc-olo ! Your posts have become FOMO events . ♥️
She's amazing :)
Edit: In addition to Daydreaming (per @wave8359 below), you should also check out "About Us." It was written during the pandemic as a love letter to the fans and the separation everyone was feeling.
Ooops!
Band Maid Nippon was the best thing ever !--
--Can't it be resurrected ?---it was also the best way to learning Japanese !
Live DYTM or MV doesn't matter which to me.🤗
@@GaryHolloway-810 Yes, I love them both too.
You are listing to Memorable, written on the road 2022 tour of the USA.
Lol
The ending credits song was "Memorable". A love song to their American fans.
Miku had been secretly eyeing Saiki for a while. To tell the truth, Miku was the one who wanted Saiki to join the band the most. She was in love with Saiki's voice.😃
Saiki & Sheldon Cooper = Obsessed with trains
I really enjoy hearing the (often labyrinthine) path people took to Band-Maid, or really any foreign country's or group's music.
@@stevehall5128 There are singers and groups who are really generational talents, and I believe that Band Maid is truly a generational talent.
I watched your interview and I liked. The suggestion Wonderland is a nice suggestion, is one of my top 2.
They are a very polished band''Good for them''
The song at the end is "Leaky eyes," I mean "Memorable," Po!
I dunno. The other thing i see Saiki has posted about more than once is...LEGOS!!
AHH! I have been collecting the flower Lego sets! 🥹🥹🥹
OK I've seen this before I'm 62 male and the tears seem to fall every time I've listened to every super .group rock band from the 60's and 70's and I finally found a band that speaks to me can't explain it but bandmaid is the greatest rock band that I've ever listened to and I know I will never forget them the acoustic song near the end is puzzle hope you can find it and react to it also the song with minchos and he wa wa pedal and the green Lazer lights is take me higher please react to that one as well
I had to cry a little bit during the documentary 😢
I don't think Ohrenje-san only covered Saiki. I believe that the other members' second season videos will be released.
Saiki also has a great sense of humor. I met her at a meet and greet in NYC in 2019 and jokingly said "Can I buy you a house?" she laughed and said "OK Big!" lol...
it's Miku sees the potential of saiki she told the management to hire her without telling idea of maid outfit
I'm so happy you are reacting to these Documentaries! The first version is more whimsical but the 2.0 version is far more informative. All the documentaries are a gift to all current and future Masters and Princesses! If hard work and BandMaid love was money Oherenji would be a billionaire!

The song at the end, that you asked about, is called "Memorable". It was written to their fans during their 2022 US tour. I saw them 3 times on that tour, so I know it was really written for me in particular 😉. The MV is on their official channel.
There are too many coincidences in the history of Band-Maid for it to be a coincidence. This was meant to be.

I've seen this several times but wanted to watch it with you. Thank you
I could see it in your eyes. That last acoustic song was Puzzle (acoustic) from Zepp Tokyo. The full band version is amazing but this hits much different. That would be a FANTASTIC “two fer”. 😉
To be clear, Puzzle was the video and Memorable was the outro song.
Puzzle gets me every time🥹
The last song was 'Memorable by BAND-MAID' a song for and about the fans "Maidiacs". If you have time you should check out the original Saiki documentary from Ohrenje.
Love this Reaction on the Documentary...SAIKI
It truly was ,serendipity, kismet or fate whatever you want to call it
Call it fate, or God or magic, it really is something special that brought these 5 perfectly complimentary pieces together.
@@michaelthain4488"Kiseki (it's a miracle), po!" from the Gold Rush interview
