Just saw the article, thanks for sharing :) My family left Poland 100 years ago for a better life and soon I will leave the USA for a better quality of life. I have achieved the American dream and proud of it, but with early retirement coming I want something more out of life, My work has taken me all over the USA and it has been great ! But the culture and pace of life in SE Asia would appear to suit me better :)
Great to see two people from different nationalities who are an item give the middle finger to respective Governments and make a huge move as well as have a new baby along for the adventure. Respect the both you wholeheartedly and Mandy is so easy on the eyes. Both of you a very marketable and a real sense of calm and natural ability about you. Keep it up I couldn’t think of a better way for a young couple to live in such a beautiful place and I’m sure you’ll start a trend if already people around the world have gotten on to what you’re doing. Good Luck
❤this I’m an Aussie I’m moving to Thailand too for all the reasons you mention. I will miss my children /grandchildren & friends but I need to be financially independent, safe, happy and content which I can have and much much more in Thailand. I’m done with OZ it’s no longer the lucky country.
Coffee New cars expensive phones uber eats takeaway food eating out expensive computers expensive cloths new furniture new TV,s O/S and interstate trips and the list goes on, you have to make big sacrifices to buy a house and its always been this way for working class people, when I bought my first house the Bank interest rate was 18% and We could only get a joint Credit Card for $250! To buy a set of regular tyres on my car I had to take out a 6 month loan when I had a mortgage, It usually takes 7 years before you can afford any luxuries while paying off a mortgage but too many are not willing to make that sacrifice! People must vote to end overseas ownership of housing and negative gearing on investment properties that people have 100% loans on.If Lloyde and Mandy only earned the same as a working class Thai couple they would not be able to afford to live this lifestyle in Thailand.
It's great to hear this from younge pple like yourselves, I'll be turning 62 this year, Australia has become an unliveable sh.t hole. I'll also be moving overseas in a few weeks. Being away from Oz will only make you happier and wealthier. Take care.
You both are so relaxed and not stressed what-so-ever. The life you live is what I want for myself. I thought I was going to get that in Bali but it’s not what I thought it would be like. Grant it, I’m only here for 3 months because I still have my condo in USA, but I was trying to get a feel for what it would be like to live here and it’s not as easy as it appears. Mainly because I can’t cut my ties with AK or USA. I need to rent out my condo and get a manager to take care of place while I’m away. Which I have neither right now. Anyway, long story short, regardless, Bali is not such a relaxing place that ppl may make it out to be. It’s noisy, it’s dirty, it’s stinky, the traffic is horrible and it cost money to do any little thing. Plus, it’s rainy season right now so you can’t do all that you want to do because it’s always raining buckets. I visited Vietnam and it was nice but very busy as well. I was thinking of visiting Thailand to check out again. I spent time in Bangkok and NE part of country but it was about 7 years ago. Anyway, you have inspired me to try another country next winter, other than Bali. Thanks.
Arizona is financially turning into Australia, which is like California. Very expensive. Everyone from Cali is moving here and paying cash for homes, which in turn has driven the prices through the roof. My wife and I have watched a lot of your videos and are going to be coming out there soon to visit "first." We'd love to meet you! Good luck and positivity sent your way!
The way I figure out if fuel is cheaper here than back home is I fill up the car we use here and convert the money to Canadian. It's actually very close in price and usually has been in the 8 years I've been coming to Thailand. Side note Lloyd. My wife and I spent most of Jan in Hua Hin and I actually ran into another YT there. We are bringing our daughter and grand-daughter back when at the end of March into April before my wife and I head back to Canada. I'll keep my eye's peeled for yeah and shout a hello if I see ya. Just as heads up because I think I took that other guy totally by surprise. Anyway another great video Layla is such a good baby letting daddy do his video and she's just taking everything in. The only issue with eSim's is make sure your device is compatible, I found out the hard way.
Congratulations on your decision to give Thailand a go for a change of lifestyle and selection of Hua Hin for your chosen location. We are near neighbours from Scotland (me) and Ratchaburi (Ann) semi retired in Cha-am beach ⛱️ 😊
It’s Definately too expensive in Australia. But using the unaffordability of Byron Bay and the Gold Coast as the metric for affordability is just preposterous. It’s like saying most Americans can’t afford a home in Martha’s Vinyard or Manhattan.
too bad if your actually from that area and thats where you and your partner work fulltime and now cant afford to buy a house because everyone with money from sydney and melbourne has decided to move here. 😠
@@robdogmaddog Yes that isn’t too good at all. I moved 200km from the lush and leafy waterside house I grew up in as the average price is well over $1million dollars. But that’s the way it goes. Hua Hin is looking better by the minute.
Amazing video yet again guys! It’s so cool seeing your day to day also with Lyla and Bear (and when he decides to wait until you press record to drink like a horse😂. We love Bear haha🐻) I need to add the chocolate house to my list of places to visit whenever I make it over that way, I’d buy so much chocolate and absolutely kill it in a few days with my sweet tooth😂. Great stuff and hope you guys are well😁💛
Nice vid guys. The statues at Rajabhakti Park are all historical former kings of Thailand. Awesome sight when standing right in front of them. Do you not have many soi dogs in your area that would be a problem for bear on your walks ?

Pretty chill life you got going there in Hua Hin. Seems like a great place to raise a child. Wondering if you are there for the long haul or if the plan is to save some money and move somewhere else in the future? If so, where would be some options? Cheers
Hi just stumbled upon your channel. What visas are you guys on? And do you need to do a border rub every 90 days? We are looking at Thailand for retirement coming from New Zealand
The park with huge statues is a monument park celebrating some of the greatest kings of Thailand from the past. 😊 It is taken care of by the army. That was why you saw military people doing activities there.

Thanks for the video Lloyd. I am in Hua Hin. I am looking at staying in Hua Hin Can you recommend a real estate and in your opinion which area is good for a retirement to live? Just to give me an idea
My son 24 is leaving for good and so am I . I have had enough. He is passed over for jobs they are giving them to foreigners because they don’t have to pay super, cost of living means going out to eat or have fun is rare. There’s only so much free stuff to do before it gets boring.

If I had the mindset I do now even a decade ago go I would’ve put money aside not lived in expensive rentals or even bought a house when I was younger and I would’ve put money be retired in Thailand
Cost of living in Australia is not going to get better, poor and rich gap widens. Last 50 years the poor family should be better off but now they are worse off.
from a different age group 🤶 , Ive lived in Thai, and know all the lifestyle and cultural benefits, and some Bads, not many, before Covid I could live ok on my pension, and have trips to Thai, Currently I can scrape by, the cost of living has explodes, I don't drink much, don't smoke, and when my old car dies I cannot afford to repair it, so basically I slowly drowning financially, here in Aussie 😯😯 Now that trump has declared that( WOKE is dead) Aussie will follow and start making responsible and strong decisions to resurrect this great country
Australia and especially its young ppl are getting sold out by their own Government(s). I would rather be a stranger in Thailand than a stranger in my own country(Australia). When I go to holiday places in Oz with shacks and holiday homes you notice it so much. Everyone is Aussie, its a whole 80s-90s,vibe and its amazing. Maths tells me Australia wont be Australia soon.
The younger citizens of a country want a ‘slice of the action’. They want and need the ability to buy a piece of ‘affordable’ land with a home on it and know which state school their kid/s will go to. It creates a cohesive society along with a functional infrastructure. The smart bean counters, the ones who figure out the taxation system of a country, have robbed future child rearing generations. It is SHAMEFUL. Unless you have a ‘bank of Mum & Dad’, or you ‘inherit’ you are going to have to pedal very very fast for much much longer. NZ has just adopted a new ‘digital nomad visa’ but the cost of living is crazy. And winters are dismal. 😉
Could you sustain your living expenses in Thailand if your YTube account wasn't paying so much? Thailand is not as cheap as it used to be and with the amount of young people leaving their countries to become Nomads in SE Asia the competition must be getting bigger and bigger? Not knocking what you guys are doing but can you see your future living O/S continuing? A big question is superannuation and having enough to retire. Many people have retired in Thailand but they have their pension and or superannuation to live off so a guaranteed income that's enough to live on . By the time you retire there will be no old age pension only social welfare.
There will always be age pension because it’s a safety net. The way the country is going, more and more are gunna need it. The question you should ask yourself is will you qualify when you cut ties with Australia? Life is unpredictable!
Hello Lloyd and Mandy. Hello little baby Lila. You are gorgeous. Well Lloyd you talking about people leaving Australia. It is true. Everything is gone to expensive. If I hadn't had this property that I own or if I wasn't married and had 2 kids. I would definitely be in Thailand staying on a beautiful Island. By the way I am now divorced in 2003. Thank God for that. She was from outer space, and nutty. To be honest I had a holiday in Koh Samui in 2024. I met a lot of Aussies, Americans, English and lots of different people from other countries in Koh Samui. The Govt. in Thailand should beware that there are a lot of illegal immigrants in Thailand, especially from India. Recently 2 Indians were deported for staying illegally for 8 and 6 years. Trump is doing a good job in America. He has deported 18,000 illegal immigrants [Indians].

In Australia

Thank God for that. She was from outer space, and nutty. To be honest I had a holiday in Koh Samui in 2024. I met a lot of Aussies, Americans, English and lots of different people from other countries in Koh Samui. The Govt. in Thailand should beware that there are a lot of illegal immigrants in Thailand, especially from India. Recently 2 Indians were deported for staying illegally for 8 and 6 years. Trump is doing a good job in America. He has deported 18,000 illegal immigrants [Indians].
Not everyone can go to Thailand and become a UA-camr
Interesting times ahead with an Australian federal election approaching. Labor or liberal I think nothing will change. The last thing you wanna read is this comment 😂.
