Game: Alright.
What the title should have been "United States Marines are LITERALLY broken"! GGWP good to see a win for the ol' Red, White, and Blue.
When they said the new civ is USA I was really not keen. When they showed how they are gonna work, it didnt seem interesting. I tried them, and now 60 levels in a few days later I can say, they made an interesting civ.
I have tried dozens of different decks, cards, federal card synergies.
I think some of them are underappreciated.
Some fun facts from my experiments:
You can build an entirely viable deck just gathering food and wood with villagers! (One of my current favorites)
You have capitalism, bank wagon, and a strong trickle from the meeting house aging up with Pennsylvania. (Underrated ageup imho. Xp from the wagon, Xp trickle from the meeting house, Native embassy for free with strong Cree units, which also only cost food and wood, access to cree techs which makes your buildings and wagons cheaper)
You also have 2 factories. Considering you can age up to age 4 for free, and your state militia do not cost gold, you can make your build focus entirely on free gold income, and villagers getting food and wood.
By the time you get your factories the trickle is more like a flood, and you can buy artillery, hussars, upgrades, whatever you might need alongside your state militia.
TLDR: Pennsylvania is underrated.
I take Indiana over New Hampshire every time now. The factory advantage is very temporary, and you cant have 3 factories anymore, no matter what.
If you hold out with Indiana just a bit you get a massive powerspike with a free age up. Not to mention you can boost it with Statehood in the capitol. (Which you can get for free, or from the aforementioned trickle fairly easily)
Also, Indiana Mobilization is a sleeper! Gives carbine cav for every shipment sent so far. This is almost always at least a dozen cav, up to around 16-20 depending on the game, costs only 500 wood. For long games, the 10% unit train speed reduction is invaluable! Combined with Patriotism and church upgrades, mexican immigrants, your state militia train in about 3 seconds, and with seminole ponies hussars/carb cav in about 5-6 seconds!
Those are nearly Russian training speed numbers! (Also, if you get Cozciuszko fortifications, from forts all these are 25% faster)
South Carolina can be deceptively strong when you press the advantage with state militia, which in a critical mass, with a flag, are really strong for how dirt cheap they are.
California gold rush is really good for longer games. You can easily have 3-4 town centers with minimal investment, auto training settlers with normal speed. Having tested it out, with Indianas free age up, it becomes a powerful turtle boom.
Ohio and New Yersey both scream of potential but I havent tested many decks on them yet.
They have some insane numbers, just hard to execute, but with the correct deck and build order I think they could be very explosive.
Illinois, the plow upgrade is only 10%, however Land of Lincoln upgrades the flag to be STUPENDIOUS.
The Hp improvement you can take or leave, but it makes the flags range absolutely amazing. Its more than a screen wide in radius. You can comfortably place it at a fort and besiege your enemy behind it with the bonuses.
You can even do more fringe builds that are a ton of fun such as Texan forts (get up to 5 forts fairly easily, keeping them is the hard part)
Or do outlaw/merc focused build. Sadly not too difficult to counter but still.

agree completely, while USA is on the weaker/slower side it is certainly a fun civ with a ton of options
@@ashwrightfinance8610 Agree, it can be hard to keep up with faster early game civs for sure, but I'm just so glad it's not a one dimensional civ. Also they are perfectly viable to play without feeling like you are handicapped hard.
Pennsylvania is also quite good for Treaty games as well. Having two Meeting Houses can really help when there's a lack of XP with the timer. New Jersey is also quite good for Treaty as well. Not the Seaports card, but with the Moris Canal. Having speedy Home City shipments can really get your upgrades in sooner. The outpost and military wagons are also a nice bonus.

The US suits your play style Drongo. You can do something in the tournament with them.

Hey, Drongo. Can u make a tier list of civs for not pro players? For like 1200-1600 ELO
Below 1500 elo civ doesn't even really matter because if you lose the game its probably way more to do with macro/micro mistakes or just taking a bad trade, obviously some civs are still just better like dutch vs usa, but at lower elo civ choice is rarely the reason why you lost.
@@ashwrightfinance8610 I understand this. But for example France is one of the best civs at beginner levels because it’s easier to play with. And not that many things can go wrong with them.
Or Otto and Spain are dominating at lower levels because they have their FF for all situations. And it is not easy to counter correct FF at low levels

Maybe you can look up the counters of the "easiest" civs and have a rough idea of the Meta.

that seems like a really good build vs dutch. I feel like dutch need a small nerf, unless you rush the dutch they are very hard to beat and out eco, even if you control hunts their units are mostly gold, villagers are gold and they just trade at the market for the food they need, they also have probably the best dragoon unit and best skirm with all their upgrade cards.
you must not play Dutch if you think they need a nerf. so your opinion must be the same for inca, japan, and sweden then.
@@Youngmuniii I play dutch and I feel they need a nerf, its so hard to stop dutch getting its 5 banks up, if you rush they just send CM and theres not much you can do, banks keep gathering coin and have 4000hp each, if theres no food they just trade at market with so much coin.
Even civs like japan going full shrine boom only out eco dutch after 20 mins when most games are over.
Whilst inca, japan and sweden are all good civs, they can be stopped by just burning down shrines and torps. in case of inca only their native rush was op and thats been nerfed, nothing else op about inca. With dutch its so hard to destroy 4000 hp banks with a colonial militia TC shooting at your units, they age up fast as well so they start building banks very quickly, what dutch need is a nerf to their age up time, maybe reduce gold/food crates so it delays the banks getting built and its actually possible to rush them.

@@Youngmuniii Don't get so mad just because you disagree, we are all allowed to have different opinions, my opinion is that dutch out eco japan until mid fortress. As japan your shrines are constantly getting burned down its rare you just sit at 200 shrine pop, dutch just sit with 5 banks untouched.
Japan recently got nerfed, I think they are ok right now.
Not sure what the issue is with inca? I guess you hate all the civs with houses that gather resources.

Why beginners deck? Create your own deck and treat the AI as a human multiplayer opponent. Believe me, you'll get a lot out of it.

Statehood takes time off of aging, even when you're in progress.

The Marines card gives them 1000% seige damage. That's not a typo. They go from 5 siege to 50 siege.

@@Toonrick12 Culvs are slow and don’t offer a very good offense so they don’t defend themselves well where as Gatling can. I’d like to see you post a game against a 1200 player trying to counter Gatlings since you say it’s so easy.
Why don't you buy trading posts and mercenaries? The tradiing post pays for itself like 20 times in a 20 minutes game.

It's no way unbalanced, the minutemen have like a 2 minute cooldown so it's hard to mass them, he only had a decent amount because he used 2 cards, colpeper minutemen and marines card. in fortress age thats like a 2k investment sending 2 cards.
the strat was effective because dutch just sat back and wasn't prepared, 20 wood in wall segments and 2 falcs completely shuts down that build as marines are weak to artillery and it's hard to remass them due to the long cooldown.
dutch need a nerf if anything, out eco'd 3 tc usa despite having his whole base destroyed.
Have you tried the strat? It's v hard to pull off quickly, sacrifices a lot of early eco and cards, and is quite predictable if you scout/look at deck. Let people adapt to it first for a bit before calling for a nerf. USA is still overall considered weaker than other civs
@@krispyk277 didn’t you watch the video? the build order isn’t the issue. although it was pulled of very easily in this match up and the build is far from hard to do. far from. the economy doesn’t matter when your units don’t die and have ridiculous stats. the unit needs nerfed. unlimited pops of minute men on a short cool down that have the siege of siege units? I’ve played against it to know it’s not balanced, the unit resists melee but can stand and fight skirm or kite skirm, they are in fact not afraid of cannons as the above commenter mentioned, I don’t think he’s actually ever played against them because if he had he’d know that they aren’t even afraid of a frigate and if you watched the video m you can see a glimpse for yourself too.. Idk where there’s room to defend the marine? having a cool down and sending a card doesn’t justify their stats. A minute man sieging a town center at 10 minutes? They’re meant for defense not offense. Anyone defending the current state of the marine are only defending it because they’re using it to get wins. And they were probably against the unlimited 2 gattling nerf when it happened too. The guy above disagreed with the gattling nerf, enough said and It’s that simple. If they don’t nerf them in the future patches all you’ll be seeing is players using usa marine build for free wins. Dutch need a nerf? lol Dutch need a buff buddy. But mark this youtube comment.
