You had to be mature to understand fear mongering from activists. What people don't understand is that it's a major risk for McFarlane and his company, to get the license from WB/Todd Phillips. Remember, Todd Phillips has a very interesting contract when it came with the first Joker film and merchandising was probably somewhere on the contract. I wouldn't be surprised the price hike was due to royalties, which further explains the lack of merchandising for the film in the first place. At the end of the day, the set will be limited in production and if you cannot afford the sticker price; c'est la vie.
I get the "Mature" nature. But it doesn't justify pricing! Plenty of crazy films out there have figures. But i have no doubt this was a hard property to put out. If you can afford it get it. Mature nature of the film or not, it’s not represented in these figures. There’s guns in some of the other films he makes figures of, but he doesn’t include them in the box. Doesn’t seem to affect the price point then
It should have just been the figures and the set for 80, McFarlane got his customers too used to low prices so when he pulls shit like this customers feel entitled to a lower price. The extra shit is cool but should be sold separately for people that just want the prop stuff.

For that price autographed head shots and more movie replicas should of been included. Murrey's tie being clothe goods and variant heads for both. $150 would of went over better. This price would have the Mcfarlane DC multiverse cards signed by Dinero and Phionex individually. Same oriiginal amount of replicas but my proposed variant heads amd the clothe tie. These are my wants. Licensing and factory use must really be a bitch. With that said, NO WAY would I ever pay $250 for anything McFarlane. This set here, $60 MAX. And that's being generous. Say, $20 per figure ($40) and $20 for the other stuff.
Ohhh sounds like don't have plan for single pack right now.....😅
Uncle Tawd has lost his marbles! No one wants a De-Zero figure!
Doesn't include the jokers blaster either.
I want to see what he is going to do if no one will buy it😂 Then he will sell it on a normal price! And just imagine for European fans. That will cost around 300 euro🤯
Uncle Todd being uncle Todd
100 bucks would be a pass for me.
I could see for a hundred bucks if all the set pieces were plastic but they're not
Their response is a Joke!! The reason I believe is to see if people will actually pay this much and trying to be like Neca with their playsets! Lets be honest Mcfarlane figs are not in the same class at Neca!
Yeah and their Batman 88 movie sets were super cheap. So doesn’t make a lot of sense.
This is not Todd and Mcfarlane Toys fault
Tom Phillips HATES that this movie got popular and is doing anything to not have merch of this moviendo
Fornite and Funko didnt do Phoenix Joker ski and figure because of it and those 2 franchise get everything
Yeah starting to see that it was more a movie rights issue than a Mcfarlane issue.
Will spend my money with Hot Toys at this price point.
Didn't he say that ,, Morgan Freeman was a limited edition figure with tumbler, then after everyone bought the tumbler thinking that Morgan Freeman figure going too be kinda rare, all of a sudden Morgan Freeman showing up all over the place at Walmart,,Todd is using trickery come on Bro use common sense since Todd has the molds for them figures he's going too squeeze out as many figures he can the same ones plus a shit load of repaints come on Bro we all know how Todd works he likes money
Sick video! we need more!
Mature nature of the film or not, it’s not represented in these figures. There’s guns in some of the other films he makes figures of, but he doesn’t include them in the box. Doesn’t seem to affect the price point then
Lol the director of joker 2 said he is not joker
It should have just been the figures and the set for 80, McFarlane got his customers too used to low prices so when he pulls shit like this customers feel entitled to a lower price. The extra shit is cool but should be sold separately for people that just want the prop stuff.
dude, the scene this set depicts alone is the mature nature they are referring to. i'm assuming the price point was dictated so put it well out of the reach of minors.
They didn’t say the scene they said the mature nature of the film. And even if it’s the “scene” doesn’t mean anything. Every gi joe marvel legend come with weapons. Still doesn’t make a lot of sense cause kids have access to all those.
on top of all this, that figure looks like DeNiro like it looks like Barrack Obama…. not at all
Baseballs aren't cheap, people. :)
Lmaoo Todd makes garbage at this price, I compared that batwing from the flash movie to the ramen racer & van and man it blows his stuff away. I bought the deluxe shao khan from storm collectibles and it came loaded with stuff and the back drop throne he got included was super worth it now compare it to this junk … man Todd is a mcdoofus.
Dude, I love this movie, so I canceled my Batman McFarlane preorders to get this piece. I wasn’t happy with the price but as a fan of the movie I picked it up as I saw value on the replica items. But I wish it was $100
Lol. To each.
Their own. We all do stupid stuff because we absolutely love something... but Man... What a stretch on this one
Dude, why not getting any other 1/12 or 1/6 scale Joaquin Phoenix Joker figure for that price? You can get much nicer merch of the (first) movie for the same money or less.
I bet most of that price is due to royalties for DeNiro.😆
Who's a piece of crap nowadays. Lol.
@miragexl007 Agree !
The bad second movie and the bad toys.
Sounds like a rip off, I wouldn't buy it in that price range, $30 dollars is more reasonable!!!
One year ago, the minimum was $1000. Warner Bros is truly lost. The minimum only recently changed to $250. This is news from Hot Toys and Inart who said the licensor set a minimum price.
I've seen this 😂 I'm not amused at all..the limitations they have should reflect on the customer and collector.
Its not there fault becasue its been told that if anyone release a figure for this movie it has to be elite pricing which sucks especially now that the phoenix joker is not popular because of the last film.
I guess Neca figures cost like $3 and the rest of the princing is the mature nature tax
Lol 😂
Get a realistic hot toys 1/6 for 300 easy pass
Why all this drama... U have the money buy itn u like it buy it.. U don't have it or like it just don't...this is the collection world....
@@mazomics I don’t care personally. If something is too expensive I don’t buy it. But if something is a big topic in the community I comment on it. Only drama for those that want to make it that. For me it’s just a discussion.
@RichyFigs totally understand that
I wish Hasbro had the dc licence at least they would scale with the marvel legends Todd McFarlane has always been difficult, he said and I quote "it's not about the money"........bulls*it this set price is a joke $250.....really? Todd is power hungry and greedy and arrogant, be interesting what the scalpers will sell it for.
Lol. Whatever. Good luck with this item. Personally.. It's
Cool But even if the price was down I Wouldn't buy this thing... Robert De niro, Anything associated with him Nowadays, can go piss himself. Lol
Jada is going to become the new toy king.
RichyFigs, Todd Mcfarlane made a statement which unfortunately comes across as a corporate justification really telling you nothing. I respect Todd as an artist and a man. It seems he has done pretty much whatever he wanted as an entrepreneur as well. That being said the $250 price will turn away me and others. We'll see how well these sell at the asking price. Great video.✌️
Hard pass!
their reasoning is pure bullshit. I collect figures from many R-rated properties and they don't jack up the price through the roof just cause the property is violent or mature themed. even mcfarlane's own spawn and warhammer figures are based on very hard R properties, yet their pricing isn't any different from mcfarlane's other figures. this pricing is just pure greed and their response is a serious insult to the intelligence of those that collect mcfarlane figures.
They do own spawn. But o get what your saying for sure. Doesn’t make sense to me.
@@RichyFigs plus, from the promo shots, the de niro figure doesn't have his mole, which is a huge oversight, despite being a tiny detail.
@@RichyFigs Its true anyone that makes a figure based on this movie had to make it with elite pricing. Its why inart released that high priced three figure set. with the flop of the second movie I dont know if the phoenix version is popular anymore for these high prices
Stealing !
Ouch!😆
McFarlane Toys is TRASH! Diamond Select is also Trash cheap ass paint easy to chip off.
Lol double whammy. Select catching a stray bullet
