The main issue is that Joker 2 is such a huge departure from the first movie in a way that doesn't even make sense. The first movie doesn't put a particular emphasis on music. It would have been good as a stand-alone musical movie and advertised it as such. I actually like musicals and even I got sick of the musical numbers. Chicago the movie, for example, which is an actual musical, didn’t feature as many musical scenes, and when they did, it made sense. They didn't truly emphasize the switch from reality to fantasy. It just seemed random as fuck and with no meaning to it. I can understand the theme of sensationalism and how we, the audience, care more about the villain, Joker, than we do about the person behind it. It's wild because that theme could have been explored so well in wildly different ways. We already empathized with Arthur and some of us poor bastards can even relate to him. The idea of Joker being a shared fantasy and how he doesn't really exist also could have been done so much better. However, they essentially made a full shit circle where the beginning mirrors the end and nothing really changes. Even Arthur's death was carried out lazily. I wonder if they cast Lady Gaga as Lee first and then wrote the script. Btw, the only thing I could focus on while she was on screen was her lip filler and its blantant injection sites.
Joker (2019) was intended to be a standalone film.[33] Warner Bros. intended for it to launch DC Black, a line of DC Comics-based films unrelated to the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) franchise with darker, more experimental material, similar to the DC Black Label comics publisher.[34][35][36] However, even before the film wrapped, Joaquin Phoenix told director Todd Phillips that he did not feel ready to leave Arthur Fleck behind; one night while falling asleep, Phoenix had a dream of his character performing onstage, telling jokes and singing, giving him the idea of possibly doing a musical sequel.[14] They then brought the idea to producer Toby Emmerich.[

Matrix 4 levels of bad.
Please watch this movie with closed caption.
Read these seventies songs lyrics and how they are a narrative for the storyline.
Movie subverted expectations of course everyone hated it.
I was amazed at how boring the movie was. It was almost impressive.
They stop making good movies. All investments are on marketing and stars.
Joker Disney version
I can’t stand when Joe acts likes a moron. He’s a genius and knows exactly what’s going on.
Funny, Godfather II is EXACTLY about going legitimate and giving up their interests in organized crime and moving to Las Vegas...
Its amazing how many stupid people dont understand the movie. Im not saying its amazing but its not that bad either. The few musical numbers are his inner dialog. The majority of the movie takes place in his head. It starts to make more sense after you realize that..
I only saw the clips and I hated it Joe is way off this one they thought this was going to be a woke hit 😂
I loved the movie. They never wanted to make a sequel, they didn’t wasn’t to be in the DCEU. Take the names of the characters out of the movie. If you understand people with the Schizoaffective disorder is a chronic mental illness that combines symptoms of schizophrenia and a mood disorder, such as bipolar disorder or depression. My best friend is bipolar and he had illusions, he believed things happened that didn’t happen. Look at his imagination in the first movie. It makes sense. Is it a good Joker movie? No. Is it a good movie? I liked it because I understand what it was attempting to say.
Didn’t love it, but I did like it. I thought it was pretty obvious they were using the “music numbers” to emphasize his psychosis.
I saw it yesterday. I don't like musicals but I liked it. On the other hand I knew it was a musical going in. It gave us a deeper insight in the mind of Arthur Fleck, and his identity crisis battle with The Joker.
Same. I felt the singing tied into the insanity of both of them really well.
This reminds me that I have a theory that Adam Sandler did Grown Ups 2 as a protest. Like the first movie was beloved and the second one has no plot and is loaded with the worst humor imaginable. Seems like Joker 2 is the same.
They intended to make no sequel and studio guys probably demanded it.
Grown ups 2 is pre tuff tho
It was a joke Tim was right thats just morally scrweed up. Thats like im rich and i dont want do it so here screw u lol like man we let you remake taxi , dont act cute 😂
