It was a shock to me to see Quentin’s portrait as it is in 1995. Then again, in Dark Shadows continuity, the portrait is 98 years old. So in essence, the portrait showed Quentin at 125 years old 0:40 Kathy Cody’s first Dark Shadows appearance 15:06-16:14 Quentin vs Stokes
A sweetheart for David! I loved the dance scene and the music. Wouldn't it have been so good if we had music boxes for this theme and Pansy Fae's theme, too?
Finally we are getting a mix of new characters into the story. As much as i loves Julia and Barnabas, it was getting old with just them leading wvery episode.
This video is full of strange occurrences. Julia is led away from the Old House by that girl in the pink dress, then the ghost of Gerard appears in the playroom, and scares Julia. Then we find out that Quentin doesn't know that Barnabas is a vampire. Things are very creepy! Then we see Barnabas waking up, and leaving his coffin. I've never actually seen Barnabas climb out of that coffin. It must have been awkward for Jonathan to get out of that thing! Maybe that's why we never see him actually climbing out of it. Too embarrassing I guess! I wish I could have been a fly on the wall to see that!! lol! ~Janet in Canada
Quentin was driven insane by the events that occurred at Collinwood in 1970. Not surprising he wouldn't remember. He has been confusing reality and fantasy for a long time. Yes, the portrait has aged to 125 and will continue to age as he lives.
In the 1897 storyline Count Petofi (a man of many strange powers) had Charles Delaware Tate paint a portrait of Quentin. The portrait would age and take every illness or injury while Quentin would stay healthy and young (ala Picture of Dorian Gray).
And so it begins, the arrival of the “fascinating” and “totally absorbing” character of Hallie/Callie Stokes, the poster girl(s) for massive Zoloft, Xanax and Remeron usage. PS Quentin’s crazy man act will quickly become as tiresome as Parallel Time Quentin’s boorish behavior became on DS.
@@jonhinson5701 Yes, I think many DS fans quickly tired of David and Hallie two high school-age teenagers, hanging out in Tad’s playroom. And, since poor Hallie had just lost both of her parents in an automobile accident, I could never understand why the usually thoughtful and sage Professor Stokes would bring his niece to stay at Collinwood of all places! I mean, Stokes was well aware of almost all of the supernatural occurrences and violent deaths at Collinwood. And, he STILL brings her there to “recover” from her great loss and obvious depression. Stokes might have just as well brought the unbelievably jittery Hallie to “recover” in Beirut, Lebanon or Belfast, Ireland. Beam me up, Madam Findlay!!!
If I'm honest, I hated the tad Callie storyline. It dragged out SOOOOOO long. Even as a child of the same age as them I didn't like the child stories lol
@@melodiefrances3898 And, after the seemingly perpetually angst-ridden Hallie Stokes, soon came the unbelievably obnoxious and insufferable Bramwell Collins of the “beloved” 1840 PT Dark Shadows final storyline. Beam me up, Buzz Hackett!
Barnabas & Julia saw the ghost of David Collins & the girl. Looks like they both could be Tad & Carrie. Quentin is blaming Prof. Stokes for his failed exorcism.
Loving these episodes, there's nothing like dark shadows. Many I've never seen thank you so very much

Thank you for posting this! I turned ten years old when this was airing (in the summer) and 1995 seemed so far ahead!
David Selby was Very Handsome.

EXCELLENT MYSTERY EPISODE
Barnabas sleeps in his clothes, yet he's always perfectly pressed. He never takes a bath, yet he doesn't stink. Such are vampires, I suppose.

That Gerard Stiles. Great character in this series.
And, that sneering, snarly face.....! He don't have to say/do anything else, to get you!
@@MrMaxismybabyThat's right. Gerard just puts on that good 'ol snarly sneer.
Quentin doesn't looks older ... But why ?

@@chrisreidy439yes. Quentin hasn't aged a day since the portrait was painted. Each full moon the painting changes into the Wolfman.

Love that! Not a fan of Carrie and especially Hallie
