awesome, thanks! I'm a big guy (6ft3'', >230pounds), I'm looking for more entries to straight ankle lock, I'll be trying these slx entries very soon... TBH even the mount escape looks cool, but I doubt I can pull it off....
I think the mount escape variation should be the easiest for you if you’re a bigger guy. It’s likely your hips can generate more power upward to create space for your knee to peek through.
@@DavidvsGoliathBJJ I thought about it recently because of how I suck at mount escapes. I think at higher weight classes it's actually more difficult to escape this way, because muscle strength doesn't scale linearly with weight (weight scales like a cube of height, and strength scales like a square of height). So for example if I have a guy who's 230lbs on me, it's harder to escape then if we were both 115lbs, because while I'm stronger than a 115-er, I'm not twice as strong, only about 60% stronger. This is also I believe why mount is such a stable position at higher weights, and also why at higher weights back control is relatively easy to escape. But even if I'm able to generate enough push with my hips, I think with longer legs it might be more difficult to wrap them around partner's torso. Anyway I'll definitely give it a go.
I’d say the first one would be the hardest one to translate to no gi. The other entries can all work but the finishes have to be modified to no gi since you won’t be able to grip the pant leg. If no gi I’d place opponents leg on my shoulder instead
All my solidarity goes to poor Tim who gets constantly smashed, squished, folded and thrown by Pocket Ogre :) (just kidding, please don't be offended. Thank you for this video, it's very useful and clear)

Any significant changes to this techniques in no gi ? Do any of them not work there?
