Purple belt here but you can never refine the basics enough. Never stop looking for key details or relearning what you think you already know. This principle will see you continually progressing.

Prof Gustavo, I love your videos because they give so many options/transitions. Great work! OSS!

Nice, thank you! I really like that there's so much room to sweep the guy from the singe leg x-guard. Even if I roll with someone 10kg or 20kg heavier than me I can still put my entire body pressure on his one leg and that usually does it.
I do have issue with the oppenet pushing down my knee actually. So if we take the video as an example if the partner standing tried to push down Professor Gustavo's left knee behind his hip and just fall down to a mount position. I believe during the heat of rolling I sometimes can't get a nicely locked up singe leg x-guard and that is why there are instances where they can almost jump to mount position.

When your opponent pushes the knee through, and sits in mount, you should still have control of the ankle. From there hip bump them to the side (opposite side of the ankle control) and use that space to get your knee back in and your foot back on their hip to push them away and recover your single leg x.
I'm pretty sure Prof. Gustavo shows this in one of his online course videos.

@Earl Rogers Correct, the opposite buttocks is the best placement for your hook, especially to diminish his ability to back step finding his balance/base.
