Love how these range from “this character has no friends” to “this character is deeply psychologically, physically, and emotionally traumatized and should probably be dead by now if not for this specific thing”
Fact: Toko for years tried to bury the light within herself, but thanks to Komaru she was able to turn off her pain inhibitors and become the chosen hero of Terraria.
maybe the real tragedy was that her love interests kept dying every freaking chapter! impostor bf: dead. sword gf: also dead. mikan... uh... she killed the vibe so like, she kinda deserved it.
Another sad fact about Sonia Nevermind is that growing up, she couldn't show her feelings even when she was kidnapped for ransom. I feel like she's a really underrated character. After watching her free time events, I felt really sympathetic for her.
This is why I also don't ship her with Kazuichi. Aside from being a stalker, he treats her the way everybody at her kingdom treats her, like royalty. Meanwhile Gundham sees Sonia as a person and allows her to do grounded human activities.
A more personal one to Sayaka would be her isolated childhood from an overworking dad and deceased mom pushing her to enter an industry that would ultimately break her innocence.
Yes, cause to tbh, being taught about military as a princess compared to most doesn't seem all that sad. If they mentioned how she's witnessed multiple deaths, THAT would be sad. But they mentioned her LEARNING about it is sad, when it's really boy. I know I'd be thankful :)
@@bronzemanticore3809 yeah but still, supressing emotion isn't good her health, the fact that she found it easier to express fear when being kidnapped by insurgent is pretty sad
@@ValenArtsAnimation I don't think it means that she has to _always_ act like an emotionless robot though. Just because suppressing emotion isn't good for health doesn't mean that you must let your emotion run freely. After all, emotion blinds people
@@bronzemanticore3809 Not trying to pick a fight here - just giving my two cents on the matter. I'm not sure where that last sentence in your previous comment came from as nobody was suggesting that one should let their emotions run freely. On another note though, I feel like a lot of people don't appreciate how being in a position of authority (especially like in Sonia's case, where she is the heir to an absolute monarchy and will one day have to be the highest leader in her country) often comes with many hidden emotional pressures of its own. Namely, pressures such as the constant fear of failing, of struggling with the role and being judged for it, of having to constantly project a certain facade to reassure the people in your charge, as well as the sense of isolation/loneliness that can accompany a position where you're elevated above everyone else and you are expected to behave and conduct yourself a certain way at all times. Sonia herself hints and sometimes outright mentions these pressures during conversations and free time events in DR2. So I think people are getting too fixated on the whole aspect of her military knowledge and thinking how cool/useful it must be, but in the process they're overlooking the very things that Sonia herself has told us.
Taka does have a second friend, it's Makoto. His FTE events are most likely canon (As in Makoto spent significant time with him during the Killing Game) because him going to Makoto to privately ask him about Alter Ego makes much more sense if he trusts and has a connection with him. If that weren't the case he would have talked to Hina who was the one who actually first saw "Chihiro's ghost".
That's an illogical fallacy. Taka only asked Makoto because he was the protagonist. It's the same with Toko asking Makoto to go the library so she can talk about Byakuya. None of the free time events are "most cannon" in the in game story.
@@LMAO-hk1zz Even like that, Makoto had always been friends with Celestia, in the past and in the present, he never hated her during the killing game, but saw her as her classmate and could see through her words, and after class 78 regained their memories, he got back his dearest moments with her friend
Another fact for Kokichi is that he lost his organization as well, which was his family for him, feeling guilty of not being able to protect that one, he wanted to at least protect V3's cast, unfortunately he couldn't do that as well...as for Nagito i think it's heartbreaking that the only thing his tormented mind truly wanted was someone to love, yet had no one until the end, the only thing keeping him alive is the same thing slowly killing him...
kiibo's wasnt much of a sad fact, a sadder one was that no matter how many times the others said they hated him he'd just take it and still be respectful and protective over them, even when himiko said he should unalive himself, he still smiled down at her just as he was about to sacrifice himself
@@strawberrycanoe sometimes i wonder if he was relying on the voices in his head for comfort, and being a twitch chat how they'd probably degrade him further
Another sad thing about Akane is that she would work at a restaurant, where she was sexualized a lot, to feed her younger siblings. Even though she got the offer to be a gymnasts, she would get the same treatment just like her last job.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I did not see Hajime in this video. If he is not one sad fact about him could be that his parents concented to the Izuru Kamakura project, ecentially saying that they wanted to trade him in for a more talented son.
One of the background papers in the DR3 anime mentioned that his parents agreed to the experiment, but who knows how true these things are with Hope's Peak's habit to constantly lie about information.
They were probably lied to about the scope of the project. They were likely told that Hajime would be given a talent, one that he was suited to or of his choice, but he’d come out of the surgery pretty much the same person. I doubt they’d have agreed to allow their son to become an emotionless husk with no memories, and that they’d never see him again.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Gundham was genuinely poisoned, I thought he used it as an excuse to keep people away from him. In an earlier free time event he says anything that talks will betray you, so it’s clear he has some sort of attachment issues. Still sad though 😥
Pretty sure Gundham meant she couldn’t cook well but ate her food to spare her feelings though A real sad fact would be he is a product of a affair so his that’s why he doesn’t mention his father during his free time events
I know she couldn’t cook well. In the FTE where he talks about it, Hajime asks him if he held hands with anyone at school and Gundham says “It's obvious now, but at the time, I was faking my condition”. It’s definitely possible he did get food poisoning at some point, but by telling people they’d die if they touched him because of the poison, he was using it as an excuse.
@@danielmorales6285 He claims to be the product of a union between an angel and a demon. I assume the "demon" he's referring to is his father since it sounded like his mother just wanted to raise him the best she could and he never did mention his father, like you said.
Also in Mukuro's case, she actually had some sort of close attachment to Makoto as he was the only one who was nice to her and treated her like a friend for the first time in her life. This is also reinforced when she betrayed Junko after Makoto got impaled instead of her in Danganronpa IF, as she desperately wanted him to live. In Kyoko's case, she lost the only friend she ever had in an incident when she was 13 where she suspected her of murder but turns out she was actually innocent and sacrificed herself for Kyoko to survive, adding more onto her guilt. If Makoto, another person who trusted her sacrificed himself for her then she would be literally dead inside. This is why she repayed Makoto's loyalty to him in Future arc and resembling her friend when Kyoko decides to sacrifice herself. Hiyoko was also abused sometimes by other clans trying to scare her off or even kill her out of jealousy since she's a Saonji, resulting in her bully persona to hide her weaknesses and insecurities to scare them off.
While the danganronpa if version do sort of redeem Mukuro but after seeing despair arc of danganronpa 3 feels like she doesn't deserve redemption after how she played active role in first killing game involving whole student council &personally killing a girl from student council for disobeying,The one who actually lobotomise Chisa & turned into remnant of Despair & helped junko in starting the tragedy
I think what’s worse about korekiyo is that his sister manipulated him into falling in love with her when he was too young to even recognize there was something wrong with it. She raised him to be completely dependent on her while also being dependent on what he did, it’s no wonder he was so distraught when she died. Or why he developed a split personality (even if it is horribly portrayed) based off of her.
Can I ask a genuine question: why does everyone say Korekiyo was groomed by his sister or that she manipulated him? I never saw anything that indicated that in the game (and I’m in the process of 100% completing it) but everyone says it. Is there something I’m missing or are they just reading way more between the lines than me?
@@GippyHappy I haven’t been in the DR fandom for a while so i forgot what all the evidence was, but i’m pretty sure it’s analyzing dialogue and stuff like that, but I wouldn’t know how to confirm that myself anymore

why is no one talking about Hiyoko's backstory though? she had one of the harshest ones in the franchise. an abusive mother and grandmother, being taken away from her father, who was the only person ever cared about her, being in the risk of dying every single day, bullied to death, changing her personality from a caring daughter to a mean one to survive, being assassinated is a lot to take just for people to hate her.
@@sss-hq6ys she mentioned it but not much, because she was taken away, she problably doesn't remember her a lot. still she said that whenever her mother did anything that hurt/upset her, her father made her feel better.

@@swesag it's a defense mechanism. she didn't want to remain as the victim, and did it back in order to be stronger. nobody shows her any respect in the game, so she keeps using her mean-persona to protect herself. we can see how she drastically changes after Mahiru shows her affection, something she has not seen since she was seperated from her father. even though only knowing her for a few days, Hiyoko becomes attached to her and always wants to remember her. in the anime, you can see that she's nicer because the class accepted her after some time. she also apologized to Mikan. it's only a defense mechanism, her character is deeper than some bully loli.
Kokichi is generally the most heartbreaking character, he hated the game more than anyone and fought to end it, even if that meant being hated by everyone else. He didn't mind being the villain if that meant he could end the game and he was completely alone fighting despair after he saw the ruins of outside world because everyone turned away from him. I think its interesting how the characters who think they will be executed peacefully just suddenly have changed executions that ruin their very nice death.
Celeste actually got a better deal out of hers; she might have wanted to go out with a bang and a witch-like execution from her fantasies, but burning to death is one of the most painful ways to die. A truck crashing into you, which is instantaneous, is far less painful by comparison.
2:08 I don't think it was actually poison, saying that was probably part of his whole persona, yk? However, I'm not saying that wasn't quite true! Gundham likes to state real facts about his life altering them to make sure they fit his "evil persona", that way he doesn't break character but is still able to tell us more about himself. Maybe his mom feeding him poison meant she liked using an ingredient he was allergic to but he didn't want to offend her so he was hiding it or maybe he was just saying his mom's food was nasty but he didn't tell her for the same reason... who knows ? @@deatheater6222 What I mean is that most of the other facts are about character back stories or just little details that you might've missed out on. Man, 9:41. At least it's a relieve that Nagito survive that. If anyone was like him with Malignant lymphoma and frontotemporal dementia, or any symptoms while diagnose it. Please book an appointment to get checked out. It's important, so you can't do it yourself. There might be chances to survive, if not. Then, sadly unfortunate. What a shocking story about Nagito. 😔
The thing that makes it so bad is he legitimately cannot die. Anyone normal person would have passed on, but Nagito is essentially cursed to unending suffering. The effects of frontotemporal neurocognitive disorder is degenerative, meaning it will only get worse and worse. He’s destined to become the worst case of that form of dementia, let alone a cancer effecting an entire body system. The dementia itself would progress until words lose all meaning in communication becomes essentially impossible. Nagito’s inability to understand sarcasm and interrupting wording wrong is an early stage of this. His motor function would also decline over time, I believe. And if this disease is the same as the dementia I’ve observed in older people, it will indeed make other health conditions worse. Which means his lymphoma, which is so serious it should’ve killed him, is worsened. The lymphatic system is also responsible for immunity, meaning Nagito would be more likely to contract contagious diseases and be more heavily effected. The severity of his case of the Liar Disease may have been actually a ‘reference’ to his lymphoma. Basically, DR writers wanted to make him experience a miserable existence that would long term leave him trapped in his own body and completely isolated due to his inability to communicate while constantly being ill physically. Also, Nagito’s pride in understanding situations and his intelligence would be robbed from him. This pride in his understanding (as illustrated during Nekomaru’s case) would turn into yet another source of self loathing as his understanding of the world around him diminished as his cognitive ability decreases. He’ll devolve until wanting to die is not simply due to his past trauma and self loathing. At some point, it’d just become an act of mercy considering morphine cannot treat mental wounds.
Actually it's the opposite. Kokichi knew that Gonta would fell for Monokuma's trap. Because if he was really smart, instead of trying to kill all of them he would use this as a motivation to not leave and maintain people in the academy (like Angie tried)

ok so the real tragedy of yuta asahina is that he DID survive the explosion and drowned, which is confirmed both in the wiki and in the excerpt that said he was "caught up in an explosion" rather than killed in an explosion, and "lost to the sea" which is only used for things that sink/drown and are unrecoverable. This is also shown by the fact that Komaru can see ghosts, and was frantic about trying to rescue him for a few minutes before ultimately giving up, because for those brief moments she knew he was still alive (this is also shown when she tries to uncover nagisa from the mech rubble until toko stated that even if he were alive, haiji would kill him anyway, but he reappears very much alive in the epilogue and the anime). Seeing as the canal is also saltwater, he would have also effectively drowned in his own blood, unable to complete his promise, and his sister doesn't even know he's dead. Thank you all for coming to my TED talk /j ...then his entire look was stolen by gregory from fnaf, which is quite possibly the greatest tragedy of them all.

Why did you skip over Hajime, Komaru and Monaca? And why no anime characters? Chisa undeservingly died a monster, Kyosuke got betrayed and lost everyone he cared about and respected, Juzo got rejected with a stab in the chest, Ryota almost died from malnurishing, Seiko felt like she was used her entire life, Sonosuke got murdered by the love of his life, Ruruka's guilt for the deaths she caused got amplified to a level that made her torture herself before ending her life, Kazuo died in trying to destroy his own dream, Kozu got betrayed by his employer, Daisaku had the most unfair forbidden action, Koichi died sacrifising himself to save his best friend's daughter, nobody cared when Monaca murdered Miaya, Natsumi was murdered before she had a chance to make things right, Sato died knowing she would have been fine if she didn't kill Natsumi

Fun fact: The motives in the first game were pretty useless considering the whole tragedy happening outside. *What happened to your love ones?* - Once the blackened sees the condition of the outside world, they would have no hope that their love ones were still alive. Not only that but they'd live with the burden of commiting murder and cause the death of the other participants. This means they'll now have to traverse through a waste land all alone. *Your secrets shall be revealed to the world!* - This wouldn't have really mattered since everybody is in a struggle for survival and wouldn't really care for past mistakes. Sure, Toko's secret was a big one but I don't think being a criminal matters much when the fundamentals of society have collapsed. *The blackened that wins the class trial gets a buttload of money!"* - Again, society has collapsed. Money is rendered useless. *Kill someone or I'll kill the hostages* - The hostages were probably already dead given the situation. In the end, even if a blackened succeeds in the killing game, they'd be left in nothing but despair. Dang Junko's good.
@@nobodys_here07 Yes but this is somehow complicated to me but what do I know since half of the murders are like "Hey I kill someone time to hide for my best effort so I don't get killed in a goofy yet dark way"
No, thats wrong! Sorry, couldn´t resist xD At least for the "Kill someone or I'll kill the hostages - The hostages were probably already dead given the situation." part. At least Komaru, Yuuta (to some point) and Hiros mom are confirmed to be alive.
That Leon part is actually crazy to think about, because it’s not hard to consider. She definitely would’ve tried to kill someone else the next day or even lie and say that he tried to attack her last night.
for Peko, her trauma probably connects to Fuyuhiko's in the sense that she was supposed to protect the Kuzuryu family, but she failed her mission when Fuyuhiko's sister got murked. For Gundam, I wouldn't say it's intentional poisoning, he's probably trying to imply his mother was such a terrible cook that he would often get food poisoning from her cooking.
Byakuya's siblings who lost the competition were kicked out of the family and were considered "dead" in that sense. Gundham's mom was just a bad cook and Gundham being Gundham dramatically called it poison. This is mentioned in the game, when Gundham is shocked that Hajime managed to guess that. He has also blushed with Hajime. Kiibo believed Kokichi's last words or at least leaned towards it. Leon _chose_ to kill Sayaka when he had a chance to leave the scene, as mentioned in the game. He only used self-defense as an excuse for his actions and to gain sympathy (and probably to try to justify his own actions to himself.) Also, Teruteru eating his mom is just a fan theory.
Well yeah he chose, but if in the video it's said that if he didn't, Sayaka would have certainly make up Leon as the killer of someone else the next day, seeing how crazy she was driven by the motive. Also I believe it was said in Zero but could be wrong
I think the saddest fact about Hifumi is that he died remembering his school years, now feeling the pain of having killed his dear friend and her best friend being deceived into killing him
Facts ! Some people think that Hifumi knew her real name, because he was peeking or something like that . But he remembered everything ! He was even crying in the anime .
It's funny to me that most of them are so dark like, suffering abuse, being exposed to war, heavy trauma, having an illness that cut your lifetime to almost nothing, etc. And then there's Mondo "he screams when nervous" and Tsumugi being a Danganronpa fan
I have to correct you on something on Leon's part. - He didn't killed Sayaka in self defense. He had a full intent to kill her. - She couldn't have gone for someone else the next day because her right wrist was broken. - Sayaka wouldn't blame the incident on him because it's not in her character to do that type of thing. I bet she would say what happened or say that she accidentally broke her wrist. A real sad fact about him is that Leon was destined to die since people were tired of seeing his design all the time. (Same goes for Sayaka) Another sad fact about Sayaka: She never knew about the rules of the Class Trial. Also Tsumugi's one caught me of guard.
Yeah, it's specifically said in the game that Leon had a chance to leave the scene, but chose to go and kill Sayaka. He was only using self-defense as an excuse. Us as the viewers are expected to pity him for his desperation and for being forced into the killing game which lead to the murder, *not* because he killed to directly protect himself (because that did not happen.) The non-canon manga version is different and made him a lot more sympathetic.
Just because her wrist got broken doesn’t mean she can’t plan another murder by means other than direct confrontation, thing is that she was the MOST desperate of all people to leave. Also to say she wouldn’t have put the blame on him because it’s out of her character? Are we talking about the same person anymore??? and you are expecting Leon to just stay quiet after she failed to fucking murder him?
6:33 i don’t think Sayaka could have done that, Sakura and Aoi saw her take the knife and even then she had arleady promised not to open the door, and I’m positive Kyoko and Celeste would have caught on to her lying and wouldn’t let her try again
7:32 you could have also say the reason she puts men in such a high standard is becuz her dad was lazy and wasn’t active in her life (show in the free time events) I know 2 much about mahiru lol
Something I find interesting is that taka’s original story was edited because it was “too dark” at the time. I personally believe he was sexually abused by faculty members and was bullied in school significantly. He had so much trauma he excused it as needing to “work harder” and preserve his ideals about how his suffering would eventually pay off.
correction for kaito: he didn’t know that he had that sickness. towards the end of his trial, he stated that he passed all of the tests for him being healthy. he got sick when Junko released her sickness in the city, and symptoms only started to show much later because of him being put to sleep with the others.
@@notso_cody yeah, but it doesn’t change the fact that this was what happened. kaito didn’t know he was sick until he began to show symptoms for the 2nd despair disease
I think Hajimes would be : The izuku kamakura project, where he for a big part wanted to be someone who can stand next to chiaki without feeling any shame and the sad part is that the person (chiaki) he tried the most to impress or smth died right infront of him and he didn't even recognise her 💀
In the end, Kiibo died thinking that everyone only thought of him as a robot, and not a friend. The people he sacrificed himself for even thought it was the masses that had him self destruct and not Kiibo making the decision himself. He didn't make a single meaningful friendship his entire time in the killing game. Even the person he looked up to and cared about (Miu) ended up betraying him and trying to escape on her own at everyone's expense. He doubted his own free will up to the bitter end, due to the "voices". Kiibo became a "sci-fi" robot that he hated and self destructed, knowing full well that no one would mourn him. He did it with a smile on his face.
2:22 What??? He like young and quiet women, dislikes old and noisy women, and wanted innocent kids dead. That's just an extension of his already fucked up character, not ruined at all. He just sucks
Thinking that teru teru killed for his mom, who he cooked and ate before, is so depressing.. His personality is shit, but I feel really bad for him and for his mom
Actually, based on the FTEs, when she is happy/comfortable, she feels unsafe and will get anxious for someone to torment her. She asks Hajime for it explicitly because that is her normal and a person's "normal" is sort of definitionally their "safe" (or perceived to be). Not to mention, her trial is overlooked as being absurd, but it being totally meaningless is really a huge plus. If you can't conceive of a world in which you can forgive Mikan, then you conceptually have to damn the entire cast, and probably should view Nagito's failure as a moral tragedy.
In a regular person irl's standpoint, Hifumi's is the saddest. Imagine what you'd have experience to have that kind of mindset. It's just really sad. Additionally, this is only one of the few vids where Hifumi is actually taken seriously and not just "Sad fact about every Dangan character" - "Hifumi- no viewer likes him and he's dumm" or something along those lines

@@ameliecarruthers3822 well, he's LUCKY of being alive after all that, and that's the catch, his luck goes from "amazingly good" to "disastrously bad" in a matter of seconds
A sadder fact for Sayaka would be that her mom died when she was young. Because of this, her dad had work day and night to make a living to support the family. So Sayaka basically had no parents. That was why she idolized the pop singers so much. And that’s what led her to the industry that would lead to her death

Teruteru has another thing that I believe isn’t a fan theory (not 100% sure as I don’t actually like his character a lot but have browsed the wiki). He has two younger siblings which are the Ultimate Male and Female Escorts. They didn’t go to Hope’s Peak, but they both were considered. Naturally, both were physically attractive as well which helped with their careers. They were able to become chefs in bigger cities and make loads of money despite being less talented than him. This led to him despising attractive people out of the belief that they get more credit and don’t have to work as hard for anything. Idk if it’s stated, but I think that might be part of the reason he’s such a pervert-lack of respect for the people he finds attractive. If that’s true, it’d explain why he treats his classmates much differently normally. When he remembered them, he respected them because he knew how intelligent, strong, and talented they were. Without seeing it for himself, he dismisses their talent as advantage. I also have a fan theory I love about the younger siblings actually going off to cook with the intent of sending money home to mama but it goes wrong. Maybe they decided to use their faux ultimate talents and it got them killed. Maybe they got ‘taken in’ by a pimp. Then ended up joining the ultimate despair and reuniting with their jealous, hateful older brother. Maybe they became Junko’s dirt generators that functioned to rope up in powerful men with blackmail about being like Haiji. Or perhaps they met members of V3 previously. Maybe one was promised to Rantaro plus everything else if he survived again. Maybe Rantaro’s biggest motive for the game was to receive his ‘prize’ to save them from more harm, making Tsumagi’s choice to target him even worse.
Well, Korekiyo not only killed so many girls for his sister (and she never loved him), but he was dragged into abusive relationship with her. I had a theory about Tsumugi a long time ago, that she WANTED for killing games to end. Being a Danganronpa fan for so long, she started seeing that it's done really downhill, or that people got really insane because of it. People even started to participate in real-life killing games out of their free will, that's how bad it got. And nearly no one seemed to care. During the trial, she shoved that truth in the face of the cast and every viewer, hoping they'll get her point. I mean, it was like Tsumugi intentionally wanted the cast to hate her and the situation as a whole, considering how smart she was by concealing herself and the truth from the characters all this time. And when it was all over, she just sighed, and then got positive with her performance, knowing she managed to put an end to this madness. The truth of this game (which is the theme of the game, by the way) is that the real mastermind was the crazed audience of Danganronpa and the team that had to fit in to appeal the demand, and Tsumugi might be the real hero, maybe anti-hero, considering she added the 53th game to the bunch, but still, hero in her own way, the one that won't be understood and be hated for various reasons - being the mastermind of the killing game, and the one to take the franchise away from the audience. And that, I believe, the saddest thing about Tsumugi. P.S. I wanted to just share my general thoughts on the topic, there wasn't too deep research into this. This theory does not take into account some conflicting moments like framing Kaede, or getting the final execution for everyone, but maybe she considered those to be necessary sacrifices for her plan to come to fruition and not rise the suspicion on herself. Or she wanted to go with a bang, you can't consider her saint automatically ;)
Please correct me if I'm incorrect but another sad fact about Nagito is that his parents were on a plane and got hit by a meteor I believe, and so Nagito got all of the riches. Plus his dog was hit by a truck, sad stuff I know.
When 11037 was banging on the wall, it reminded me of that scene in the danganronpa 3 anime where he helped to bolt the windows. This made me think that he wants to escape the place he locked… I think he’s is the saddest honestly…
I think it was more the fact that Gonta was the only person who had the capability and willingness to do what Kokichi needed him to do. Gonta's natural strength made him capable of killing anyone with his own bare hands, but not only that, he was an emotionally sensitive person who would do anything to help the people around him. Kokichi realized that, and took advantage of it. Other than Gonta, Maki was probably the only other person who was obviously capable of taking someone's life, but it's not like Kokichi could go to her, since she hated his guts.
As a kokichi kinnie. I cried. I've dealt with some of the same issues. And sometimes lie to make myself more interesting because I feel like I'm boring without it. I've lost friends for not doing certain things and going certain places so I make things up based on what they like.
I know Kyoko wanted to save people and that’s why she “sacrificed” makoto, but it gets me mad how everything worked for her even after literally sending to kill the only person that trusted her.

Another sad fact about Sonia Nevermind is that growing up, she couldn't show her feelings even when she was kidnapped for ransom. I feel like she's a really underrated character. After watching her free time events, I felt really sympathetic for her.
ikr!! she's my fave in sdr2, such an underrated girl. :(

This is why I also don't ship her with Kazuichi. Aside from being a stalker, he treats her the way everybody at her kingdom treats her, like royalty. Meanwhile Gundham sees Sonia as a person and allows her to do grounded human activities.

10:45 Sonia was also raised to believe that she's a princess first before she's a person and was not allowed to show fear
Yes, cause to tbh, being taught about military as a princess compared to most doesn't seem all that sad. If they mentioned how she's witnessed multiple deaths, THAT would be sad. But they mentioned her LEARNING about it is sad, when it's really boy. I know I'd be thankful :)
I don't think that's so sad. I mean, that's the implication of "with great power (royal blood) comes great responsibility (people)"
@@bronzemanticore3809 yeah but still, supressing emotion isn't good her health, the fact that she found it easier to express fear when being kidnapped by insurgent is pretty sad

True. But nobody really paid attention to traumatized Taka after Mondo's death and it was played more for dark comedy.
@@vilmublues752 Yo, what about our boy Hiro? He at least tried to talk to Taka after Mondo's execution.
That's an illogical fallacy. Taka only asked Makoto because he was the protagonist. It's the same with Toko asking Makoto to go the library so she can talk about Byakuya.
None of the free time events are "most cannon" in the in game story.

They were probably lied to about the scope of the project. I doubt they’d have agreed to allow their son to become an emotionless husk with no memories, and that they’d never see him again.
He doesn't have just one sad fact he has many
His sad facts need a video alone.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Gundham was genuinely poisoned, I thought he used it as an excuse to keep people away from him. In an earlier free time event he says anything that talks will betray you, so it’s clear he has some sort of attachment issues. Still sad though 😥
His mom was just a terrible cook and he didn't like interacting and especially not being touched by other people even as a kid.
Food Poisoning

I think what’s worse about korekiyo is that his sister manipulated him into falling in love with her when he was too young to even recognize there was something wrong with it. She raised him to be completely dependent on her while also being dependent on what he did, it’s no wonder he was so distraught when she died. why is no one talking about Hiyoko's backstory though? she had one of the harshest ones in the franchise. an abusive mother and grandmother, being taken away from her father, who was the only person ever cared about her, being in the risk of dying every single day, bullied to death, changing her personality from a caring daughter to a mean one to survive, being assassinated is a lot to take just for people to hate her.

Sad fact
He didn’t want to die Alone but nobody really like him and he kill himself

Don't forget about the coconut and ibuki.... so sad
ok so the real tragedy of yuta asahina is that he DID survive the explosion and drowned, which is confirmed both in the wiki and in the excerpt that said he was "caught up in an explosion" rather than killed in an explosion, and "lost to the sea" which is only used for things that sink/drown and are unrecoverable.

- Again, society has collapsed. Money is rendered useless.

Leon screaming for his life at the class trial will always give me chills
This is actually pretty sad tbh and a very well made video. I didn't even know some of these.
Has anyone saw this 3:24 without the blur? If one of yall do, pls explain to me 😭
It’s Kotoko’s backstory. Basically she was SA’d
That Leon part is actually crazy to think about, because it’s not hard to consider. She definitely would’ve tried to kill someone else the next day or even lie and say that he tried to attack her last night.
She wanted to kill Makoto. Leon basically saved his life by killing her.
for Peko, her trauma probably connects to Fuyuhiko's in the sense that she was supposed to protect the Kuzuryu family, but she failed her mission when Fuyuhiko's sister got murked.
He only used self-defense as an excuse for his actions and to gain sympathy (and probably to try to justify his own actions to himself.)
Also, Teruteru eating his mom is just a fan theory.
He ate SOMETHING of his mom 😳😳
Well yeah he chose, but if in the video it's said that if he didn't, Sayaka would have certainly make up Leon as the killer of someone else the next day, seeing how crazy she was driven by the motive.
Also I believe it was said in Zero but could be wrong
@@kaykansan9135 Teruteru wasn't mentioned in Zero. And his class wasn't part of Ultimate Despair back then.
@Waterizing Something *else*
@@vilmublues752 Oh, my bad then.
3:27 I never stopped to think about it, now I won't see Kaito with the same eyes anymore 😭
It's funny to me that most of them are so dark like, suffering abuse, being exposed to war, heavy trauma, having an illness that cut your lifetime to almost nothing, etc. And then there's Mondo "he screams when nervous" and Tsumugi being a Danganronpa fan
2:00 this fact- this one hurts
I have to correct you on something on Leon's part.
- He didn't killed Sayaka in self defense. He had a full intent to kill her.
- She couldn't have gone for someone else the next day because her right wrist was broken.
- Sayaka wouldn't blame the incident on him because it's not in her character to do that type of thing. I bet she would say what happened or say that she accidentally broke her wrist.
A real sad fact about him is that Leon was destined to die since people were tired of seeing his design all the time. (Same goes for Sayaka)
Another sad fact about Sayaka: She never knew about the rules of the Class Trial.
Thank you, I was about to get this down myself.
@@makotonaegi33 Of course you would, Naegi
Just because her wrist got broken doesn’t mean she can’t plan another murder by means other than direct confrontation, thing is that she was the MOST desperate of all people to leave.
Also to say she wouldn’t have put the blame on him because it’s out of her character? Are we talking about the same person anymore??? and you are expecting Leon to just stay quiet after she failed to fucking murder him?
@@makotoyuki7492 I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Also there’s way too much evidence against her anyway so blaming wouldnt work.

correction for kaito: he didn’t know that he had that sickness. towards the end of his trial, he stated that he passed all of the tests for him being healthy. he got sick when Junko released her sickness in the city, and symptoms only started to show much later because of him being put to sleep with the others.

I think he did because izuru was crying when she died that probably means at least some part of hajime/izuru recognized her
@@jamesholland9738 yes but HE didn't remember chiaki his past did.
Forever the most painful
Mikan-her life.
Legit nothing in her life is good. So when she’s actually happy/feeling comfortable and safe it’s nice 🥺
Nagito's past was literally something else 💀

A sadder fact for Sayaka would be that her mom died when she was young. Because of this, her dad had work day and night to make a living to support the family. So Sayaka basically had no parents. That was why she idolized the pop singers so much. And that’s what led her to the industry that would lead to her death

Ok why does this feel so sad
Makoto probably has so much survivors guilt poor guy 😭
Sad fact for the fandom: We are all like Tsumugi. Huge fans who support the killing games with our creations (fanfics and support for them)
Teruteru has another thing that I believe isn’t a fan theory (not 100% sure as I don’t actually like his character a lot but have browsed the wiki).
Not only that, I think (it's more like headcanon), but also his sister wasn't able to socialize because of her chronical illness, which is the reason she had no friends and dragged Korekiyo into !nc3st things.
Kiyo deserves better.. I love him sm, he's my biggest kinnie i hate his sister sm

The gonta one almost made me cry. Gonta is amazing and is intelligent in a different way. His family also disowned him when they reunited cuz he was too ungentle so he wanted to please them. Also shuichis one made me sad. And himiko probably is as naive as gonta bit they are very lovable characters.
Bro when she said that Aoi was Sakura’s only friend it made me cry but I always knew that, it was just sad
